Apparently, Democrats are allowed to attack the media without penalty

Well, perhaps not entirely without penalty, but the descriptions we’re seeing in response to Bernie Sanders’ recent accusations against the Washington Post certainly represent a change in tone from when the Bad Orange Man says mean things about the press. So where did this come from? It turns out that Sanders, along with other Democratic 2020 hopefuls are unhappy with some of the coverage they’ve been receiving and are, in some cases, blaming the press for their poor showing in the polls. But Sanders goes several steps further, building a conspiracy theory involving Jeff Bezos. (The Hill)

The Democratic presidential contenders are letting loose with a barrage of attacks against the news media, ripping national outlets for what they view as biased coverage of their campaigns or unfair double-standards in covering President Trump.

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) is leading the way, making his grievances with “corporate media” central to his anti-establishment campaign.

The Sanders campaign took it up a notch this week, calling out CNN and NBC by name, and making the case that The Washington Post is covering Sanders negatively because he’s been critical of the newspaper’s billionaire owner, Jeff Bezos.

As The Hill goes on to note, it’s not just Sanders. Biden’s spokesperson was lashing out at everyone in the press corps for “focusing too much attention” on his endless parade of verbal gaffes. (Sorry, Uncle Joe, but that’s actually news.) O’Rourke and Castro both accuse the press of not going after Donald Trump hard enough on charges of racism. (Seriously? Do you own a television?)

To be fair, CNN objected, if a bit more softly than they do when Trump lashes out at the press. (Free Beacon)

CNN anchor Poppy Harlow pronounced herself “surprised” at Sanders’s language, and likened it to President Richard Nixon saying on tape that he didn’t want Post reporters at the White House.

“This is a very serious claim against the Washington Post, with no evidence, and it is echoing what the president says,” Harlow said.

CNN’s Chris Cillizza, who formerly wrote for the Post, called it a “ridiculous claim.”

So there was that. But you can notice a pronounced difference in the tone, right? When the President talks about fake news, he’s accused of undermining the Constitution and threatening the future of the world. Sanders’ remarks are “surprising” and “ridiculous.” Trump gets compared to Hitler. Sanders draws a Nixon reference.

Of course, the complaints being raised are rather different as well. Some of the bottom-tier Democratic contenders are primarily angry that they don’t get as much attention as the frontrunners, blaming the press for their inability to break out. When Donald Trump complains, he’s usually talking about press outlets getting things wrong, focusing on unprovable topics like the endless Russia, Russia, Russia investigation and the endless negative spin applied to him.

Sanders, on the other hand, is quickly moving into tinfoil hat territory, accusing Jeff Bezos of making the WaPo attack him because of his criticism of Amazon. He also accused Jake Tapper of adopting “Republican talking points” for the crime of asking him how he planned to pay for his Medicare for All scheme. This sort of media attack strategy probably appeals to Bernie’s base, who see him as the outsider fighting “the establishment.” But he’s going to have to win over a lot more than that crowd if he wants to catch Joe Biden.

HUGE! Google Insider Releases Hundreds of Internal Documents on Google’s Deceptive and Totalitarian Tactics Against Conservatives

James O’Keefe III and Project Veritas is breaking the identity of its latest big tech whistleblower on Wednesday.

The Google insider also spoke with investigative journalist Sara Carter on Google’s manipulation of particular words, phrases and contexts to promote, alter, reference or manipulate perceptions of Internet content.

The Google insider already turned over a laptop and several documents to the Department of Justice. He claims the documents he turned over to the DOJ provide proof that Google has been manipulating the algorithms and the evidence of how it was done.

According to Sara Carter:

Google CEO Sundar Pichai told the House Judiciary Committee in December, 2018, that the search engine was not biased against conservatives. Pichai explained what algorithm’s are said Google’s algorithm was not offensive to conservatives because its artificial intelligence does not operate in that manner. He told lawmakers, “things like relevance, freshness, popularity, how other people are using it” are what drives the search results. Pichai said even if his programmers were anti-Republican, the process is so intricate that the artificial intelligence could not be manipulated and it was to complicated to train the algorithm to fit their bias…

…“I honestly think that a free market can fix this issue,” he told this reporter at a meeting in Washington D.C. “The issue is that the free market has been distorted and what’s happened is that the distortion is so grotesque and the engineering is so repulsive, all we need to do is just expose what’s going on. People can hear that it is bad but that can be bias. But when they see what Google has actually written with the documents, this will actually be taught in universities of what totalitarian states can do with this type of capability.”

“It will be so revolting that it doesn’t matter what the solution is, a solution will just form as a reaction to this manipulation they have done,” the Google insider said.

Project Veritas will release the documents later today.

It is a known fact for those who seek to be informed that Google discriminates against conservatives.

If you search Google for prominent conservative voices including: Mike Cernovich, Joe diGenova, Jack Posobiec or Gateway Pundit you will see hit pieces and biased attacks.  The Gateway Pundit is one of the largest, most accurate and most influential publishers in the country today.  In the last month if you search Google for “Gateway Pundit” the first item that it pulls up is a pdf of Jim Hoft’s speech to Congress.  The line item says: “Gateway Pundit – Congressman Steve King”. It is a pdf! We have written hundreds of stories that changed the media narrative in the US and this pdf is the first item the pops up?  Most likely it is because some Google jack*ss wanted to link us to Republican Rep. King who the left has smeared as a racist.

You have to go to the fifth item before you can even find a link to our website.

Google does its best to hide conservative content and smear conservative publishers.

It’s time the federal government holds these vile, tyranical leftists accountable.

Why Blacks Should Ignore the Liberal Agenda

There is discrimination of all sorts, and that includes racial discrimination. Thus, it’s somewhat foolhardy to debate the existence of racial discrimination yesteryear or today.

From a policy point of view, a far more useful question to ask is: How much of the plight of many blacks can be explained by current racial discrimination?

Let’s examine some of today’s most devastating problems of
many black people with an eye toward addressing discrimination of the past and
present.

At the root of most of the problems black people face is the breakdown of the family structure.

Slightly over 70% of black children are raised in female-headed households. According to statistics about fatherless homes, 90% of homeless and runaway children are from fatherless homes; 71% of pregnant teenagers lack a father figure; 63% of youth suicides are from fatherless homes; 71% of high school dropouts come from fatherless homes; and 70% of juveniles in state-operated institutions have no father.

Furthermore, fatherless boys and girls are twice as likely
to drop out of high school and twice as likely to end up in jail.

One might say, “Williams, one cannot ignore the legacy
of slavery and the gross racism and denial of civil rights in yesteryear!”

Let’s look at whether black fatherless homes are a result of
a “legacy of slavery” and racial discrimination.

In the late 1800s, depending on the city, 70% to 80% of black households were two-parent. Thomas Sowell has argued, “The black family, which had survived centuries of slavery and discrimination, began rapidly disintegrating in the liberal welfare state that subsidized unwed pregnancy and changed welfare from an emergency rescue to a way of life.”

As late as 1950, only 18% of black households were single-parent.
From 1890 to 1940, a slightly higher percentage of black adults had married
than white adults. In 1938, black illegitimacy was about 11% instead of today’s
75%. In 1925, 85% of black households in New York City were two-parent. Today,
the black family is a mere shadow of its past.

Let’s ask a couple of questions about crime and education
and racial discrimination.

It turns out that each year more than 7,000 blacks are
victims of homicide. That’s slightly over 50% of U.S. homicide victims.
Ninety-four percent of the time, the perpetrator is another black person. Along
with being most of the nation’s homicide victims, blacks are most of the
victims of violent personal crimes such as assault and robbery.

At many predominantly black schools, chaos is the order of
the day. There is a high rate of assaults on students and teachers. Youngsters
who are hostile to the educational process are permitted to make education
impossible for those who are prepared to learn. As a result, overall black
educational achievement is a disaster.

Here are my questions to those who blame racial discrimination for the problems of black people: Is it necessary for us to await some kind of moral rejuvenation among white people before measures can be taken to end or at least reduce the kind of behavior that spells socioeconomic disaster in so many black communities? Is it a requirement that we await moral rejuvenation among white people before we stop permitting some black youngsters from making education impossible for other black youngsters?

Blacks were not the only people discriminated against in
America. While Jews and Asians were not enslaved, they encountered gross
discrimination. Nonetheless, neither Jews nor Asians felt that they had to
await the end of discrimination before they took measures to gain upward
mobility.

Intellectuals and political hustlers who blame the plight of so many blacks on poverty, racial discrimination, and the “legacy of slavery” are complicit in the socioeconomic and moral decay.

Black people must ignore the liberal agenda that suggests that we must await government money before measures can be taken to improve the tragic living conditions in so many of our urban communities.

Black and white intellectuals and politicians suggesting that black people await government solutions wouldn’t begin to live in the same high-crime, dangerous communities, and send their children to the dangerous schools that so many black children attend.

New Rule Could Deny Green Cards, Visas to Immigrants Who Use Welfare Programs

Federal officials will consider an immigrant’s use of welfare benefits such as food stamps and Medicaid as a negative factor in deciding on the eligibility of the immigrant’s permanent legal residency or on a temporary visa. 

“It will also help promote immigrant success in the United States as they seek opportunity here,” Ken Cuccinelli, acting director of  U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, told reporters Monday at the White House. “Throughout our history, self-reliance has been a core principle in America.”

The Department of Homeland Security placed the regulation in the Federal Register on Monday, and it goes into effect Oct. 14. 

Authority for the regulation comes from a 1996 bill that passed with bipartisan support but previously was applied only to legal immigrants who get cash benefits such as Temporary Assistance for Needy Families or Supplemental Security Income. 

“Since 1996, the law has required foreign nationals to rely on their own capabilities and the resources of their families, sponsors, and private organizations in their communities to succeed,” Cuccinelli said. 

“However,” he said, “Congress has never defined the term ‘public charge’ in the law, and that term hadn’t been defined by regulation. That is what changes today with this rule.” 

The rule will apply only to those applying for green cards or visa status after the regulation takes effect. 

The concept has been in U.S. law going back generations. 

“The public charge requirement is a long-standing principle of U.S. immigration law, first implemented at the federal level in 1882,” David Inserra, policy analyst for homeland security at The Heritage Foundation, told The Daily Signal.

“However, the [meaning] of public charge has been poorly defined. The administration’s new rule simply defines … the public charge requirement to reflect today’s system of government benefits,” Inserra said.

The rule says an immigrant seeking to be a permanent resident with access to U.S. citizenship must not be reliant on U.S. welfare programs.

“This rule protects U.S. taxpayers by ensuring that new immigrants to the U.S. will not add even more spending on top of welfare and entitlement programs that are already unsustainably driving American debt higher and higher,” Inserra said. 

“It also ensures that the U.S. is granting permanent residency to those who are self-sufficient, rewarding such immigrants with the privilege of staying and working in the U.S. and eventually gaining access to American citizenship.”

Cuccinelli, former attorney general of Virginia, did not have an estimated dollar figure on how much it costs taxpayers to pay for legal immigrants’ welfare benefits, but said:

The benefit to taxpayers is a long-term benefit of seeking to ensure that our immigration system is bringing people to join us as American citizens—as legal permanent residents first, who can stand on their own two feet, who will not be reliant on the welfare system—especially in the age of the modern welfare state, which is so expansive and expensive, frankly. So, that self-sufficiency that has been a central part of the American value set for so long is critical for us and for taxpayers going forward. That’s part of the motivation for a rule like this.

The rule applies to public benefit programs at the federal, state, local, and tribal level, Cuccinelli said. 

However, it will not affect programs pertaining to children, such as the Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women Infants and Children, or WIC;  the Children’s Health Insurance Program, or CHIP; benefits for pregnant women; foster care or adoption subsidies; or any public benefits for those who serve in the military. 

The rule also will not affect refugees or immigrants admitted to the United States for asylum.

Pro-Life Movie ‘Unplanned’ Hits No. 1 Among DVDs on Amazon

“Unplanned,” a movie about an abortion clinic director who left her job at Planned Parenthood, is the No. 1 DVD in Amazon sales after surpassing expectations in movie theaters. 

“You know, without being trite, I think the people have spoken,” Cary Solomon, who directed the movie with Chuck Konzelman, told The Daily Signal in a phone interview Tuesday. 

“Unplanned” tells the true story of Abby Johnson, a Planned Parenthood clinic director who quit her job with the nation’s largest abortion provider in 2009 after having a conversion experience regarding the procedure. 

The movie, which stars Ashley Bratcher as Johnson, grossed $19 million in theaters over 19 weeks, according to Box Office Mojo.

Solomon said the news that “Unplanned” became Amazon’s top-selling DVD for its official release Tuesday is especially gratifying given “suppression” of the movie by mainstream media and social media in an attempt to “damage” it during the initial run in theaters.   

Obstacles to the movie’s success included its “R” rating from the Motion Picture Association of America and censorship on social media. 

Solomon said he read that the makers of the average movie are happy with sales of 20,000 to 30,000 DVDs, but that “we presold about 235,000 without even telling anyone it was out there.”

“What does that say?” Solomon asked. “It says that we have a nation that is hungry for stories about life, but not only that [but for] true stories that reveal the truth.” 

Solomon credited the film’s success to God’s grace:

When we began, we were very concerned, very worried, very scared, and we had a Holy Spirit moment: The Spirit dropped on us and basically said, ‘Do not be afraid. This is for my glory.’ And I know that thousands of people maybe won’t believe that, but that is exactly what happened.

Konzelman, Solomon’s co-director, told The Daily Signal that he has been pleasantly surprised how well the film has done despite the opposition encountered. 

“We’re continually surprised every day. We’re surprised by the obstacles, we’re surprised by how every adversity seems to contain within it the seed of an equivalent or greater benefit,” Konzelman said. 

“We just were kind of amazed every day,” he added.  

Bratcher tweeted Thursday about the development. 

The official Twitter account for “Unplanned” chimed in: “No promotion. No ads. We’ve barely mentioned our DVD release on social media.” 

The film arrived Tuesday on DVD, Blu-ray Disc, and streaming on demand on Amazon Prime Video. 

“Number one bestseller on Amazon,” Johnson exclaimed in a Facebook post days before the home video release. “And it hasn’t even released yet!!! Go purchase yours now on Amazon, Walmart or [get] an autographed copy through our store at www.abortionworker.com.”

Levin: These Dem senators are ‘threatening the Supreme Court … if they don’t get in line on gun control’

Tuesday on the radio, LevinTV host Mark Levin called out Senate Democrats for their blatant tyranny in warning the Supreme Court to “heal” or else face “fundamental restructuring.”

Democratic Senators Sheldon Whitehouse, R.I., Dick Durbin, Ill., Richard Blumenthal, Conn., Kirsten Gillibrand, N.Y., and Mazie Hirono, Hawaii, filed a brief in a New York gun control case Monday saying the court “is not well” and must “heal itself.”

“This is tyranny. … They’re threatening the United States Supreme Court. You know, it’s one thing to pass a new Judiciary Act, propose new numbers on the Supreme Court, amend the Constitution — they’re not doing that. They’re telling the court, ‘Either you rule the way we want you to rule on gun control, or we’re going to attack your institution legislatively.’”

“Donald Trump has criticized judges, and he’s been viciously, relentlessly attacked for it,” Levin reminded listeners. “‘That’s an independent branch; you can’t question them.’ Remember? But now you have multiple senior Senate Democrats, in a brief filed in the Supreme Court for all the media to see, threatening the Supreme Court with restructuring if they don’t get in line on gun control. You have Brett Kavanaugh, a sitting associate justice of the Supreme Court, being threatened by the House Judiciary Committee, which wants his records from the time he was working at the White House Counsel’s office — that is a threat against a sitting justice — and constantly intimating about impeachment of that justice. You have presidential candidates, including Joe Biden, trashing the Declaration of Independence, trashing the Constitution. You have them all almost unanimously trashing free markets and capitalism, attacking the Electoral College, attacking the Second Amendment. This is an unAmerican party. It has become a radicalized, unAmerican party, rejecting the Constitution except when it thinks it can help them. … Attacking one institution after another. It’s one thing to disagree, and one thing to come up with a constitutional means for addressing them, like Article V Convention of States. But that’s not what they did. They filed a brief in the Supreme Court, threatening these Supreme Court justices, making it abundantly clear that they will bring pressure to change the makeup of the court if the court does not deliver them the opinion that they want.”

“This is a party that’s very, very comfortable with tyranny. This is a party that’s very comfortable with a centralized, iron-fisted government, as long as they run it, as long as they control it.”
