Saturday Night Live rarely mocks Democrats. That’s obvious in the Age of Trump, but it also held true during President Barack Obama’s two terms in office. SNL player Jay Pharoah said the show “gave up on the Obama thing.” The few times the show mocked Obama’s policies the media took notice. Which brings us to The Babylon Bee. For the uninitiated, the Bee serves up Christian satire with a heaping helping of political humor. Yes, the site often pokes fun at President Trump.

TechCrunch reports that a federal appeals court rejected Facebook’s argument to block a class action lawsuit this week which could see the firm facing billions in potential damages. The lawsuit has been moving through the court system since 2015 when Facebook users in Illinois sued the firm for violating the states’ Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA) by automatically collecting and identifying individuals in photographs posted on the social media site.
This week, a unanimous decision was made by the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco allowing the lawsuit to proceed with the court stating in its decision: “We conclude that the development of face template using facial-recognition technology without consent (as alleged here) invades an individual’s private affairs and concrete interests. Similar conduct is actionable at common law.”
The American Civil Liberties Union supported the court’s ruling with ACLU Speech, Privacy, and Technology Project staff attorney Nathan Freed Wessler stating: “This decision is a strong recognition of the dangers of unfettered use of face surveillance technology. The capability to instantaneously identify and track people based on their faces raises a chilling potential for privacy violations at an unprecedented scale. Both corporations and the government are now on notice that this technology poses unique risks to people’s privacy and safety.”
Facebook plans to appeal the decision telling Reuters in a statement: “We have always disclosed our use of face recognition technology and that people can turn it on or off at any time.” Under BIPA, negligent violations of the privacy law could be subject to damages of up to $1,000 and intentional privacy violations are subject to $5,000 in penalties per instance. With a potential of seven million Facebook users that can take part in the class-action lawsuit, Facebook could see itself facing a hefty fine.
Rebecca Glenberg, senior staff attorney at the ACLU of Illinois, commented on the case stating: “BIPA’s innovative protections for biometric information are now enforceable in federal court. If a corporation violates a statute by taking your personal information without your consent, you do not have to wait until your data is stolen or misused to go to court. As our General Assembly understood when it enacted BIPA, a strong enforcement mechanism is crucial to hold companies accountable when they violate our privacy laws. Corporations that misuse Illinoisans’ sensitive biometric data now do so at their own peril.”

An exclusive report from Vice News has revealed that despite claims by voting machine vendors and election officials that their voting systems are never connected to the Internet and as a result can’t be hacked, researchers have discovered that nearly three dozen backend election systems in ten states have been connected to the Internet over the last year, including some in swing states.
Vice News reports:
“We … discovered that at least some jurisdictions were not aware that their systems were online,” said Kevin Skoglund, an independent security consultant who conducted the research with nine others, all of them long-time security professionals and academics with expertise in election security. Skoglund is also part of an advisory group, not associated with the research, that is working with the National Institute of Standards and Technology to develop new cybersecurity standards for voting machines. “In some cases, [the vendor was] in charge [of installing the systems] and there was no oversight. Election officials were publicly saying that their systems were never connected to the internet because they didn’t know differently.”
Vice News explained that some of these voting machines are meant to only be connected to the Internet for a brief few minutes in order to rapidly deliver election results to county officials:
For security reasons, the SFTP server and firewall are only supposed to be connected to the internet for a couple of minutes before an election to test the transmission, and then for long enough after an election to transmit the votes. But the researchers found some of the systems connected to the internet for months at a time, and year-round for others, making them vulnerable to hackers.
Vice notes that although there is no direct evidence that these machines were hacked, they were vulnerable and appears to show a lack of regard for digital security:
While no one is suggesting that any of these systems have been manipulated or hacked, the findings highlight how little local and federal election officials understand how these critical election systems are really configured and connected, and the extent to which they are beholden to what the vendors tell them.

McAllen Border Patrol Station agents encountered a large group of migrants who illegally crossed the border on Sunday near Hidalgo, Texas. The agents responding to the incident reported a group of 100 migrants from Central and South America, according to information obtained from Rio Grande Sector Border Patrol officials. The group consisted of family units, unaccompanied alien children, and single adults who traveled to the U.S. from Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua.
Border Patrol defines a “large group” as 100 or more migrants who cross illegally in a single incident.
Later in the week, McAllen Station Border Patrol agents again encountered a large group crossing near Los Ebanos, Texas. The agents received a report of the group walking north from the Rio Grande on Wednesday. Agents responded to the scene and took 146 migrants into custody. Officials report the large group consisted of family units, unaccompanied minors, and single adults who traveled to the U.S. from El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua.
Border Patrol officials previously stated that smugglers utilize large groups to tie up Border Patrol resources in an area. This tactic allows smugglers to move drugs and other “high value” migrants who do not wish to surrender across the border while the agents are tied up processing the large groups.
Despite a 24 percent drop in migrant crossings in July, the apprehension of migrants who illegally cross the border from Mexico is still up by more than 130 percent over the previous year, Breitbart News reported on Thursday.
The Rio Grande Valley (RGV) Sector continues to lead the other nine border patrol sectors in migrant family apprehensions with 45 percent of all apprehensions. Agents in the RGV Sector apprehended 191,768 of the 432,838 FMUA apprehensions in July YTD numbers — up 305 percent from the previous year. The El Paso Sector jumped by 1,510 percent in FY19 with 124,873 FMUA apprehensions and Yuma was third with 50,172 FMUAs — up 367 percent.

Former Celebrity Apprentice contestant and Trump supporter Erin Elmore is pushing back on the call for a SoulCycle boycott. She is calling out entertainment industry scolds as hypocritical. She vows to wear her red MAGA hat to a SoulCycle class.
What could possibly go wrong? Elmore specifically targeted remarks from model/cookbook author Chrissy Teigen (Mrs. John Legend) as a motivation for her response to the boycott called for by one-percenters on both coasts. She gave voice to what most of us have thought for a long time – why does anyone look to Teigen as an expert on anything except posing for cameras and maybe cooking? It is disturbing that the elites on the left look to her or any celebrity for that matter as a political sherpa, guiding others on what to think or not to think on any hot button issue. Remember back in April when Teigen and Legend were guests of Pelosi and Democrats at a retreat and given the opportunity to spout off on the topics of the day, but mostly to bash Trump? That was when I first noticed that Democrats actually give credibility to the opinions of the model and her singer husband.
But Elmore took exception to Tiegen’s boycott campaign, telling Fox News ‘Un-PC’ host Britt McHenry that the backlash against the gyms is, ‘driving me crazy.’
‘I go to SoulCycle every day and I want to lose my mind,’ Elmore said. ‘They preach to me every day, “Inclusion, inclusion, inclusion. This is a place for everybody,” and then someone raises money for Trump, they’re like, ‘That’s it. I quit”.’
She’s right, of course. It’s all fun and games and “inclusion” until someone voices support for a Republican or gives approval for conservative politics. For the angry left, inclusion, and tolerance of differing opinions is a one-way street.
‘[Teigen] goes online and says, “We should ban SoulCycle. We should boycott SoulCycle.” On the wall it says inclusion for everybody. That only means for Democrats, clearly,’ Elmore continued. ‘I’m going and wearing my MAGA hat. I’m just warning everybody now. Talk about getting beat up or doxxed. I’m on my way to that train station because, beep beep, here it comes. I am wearing my MAGA hat, to soul cycle, on Monday. Who’s coming with me? Who’s coming with me?!’
Elmore is a supporter of President Trump and was a campaign surrogate in 2016. She wrote an op-ed that was published in October 2016 in which she described her experience on the Celebrity Apprentice reality television show and took the opportunity to support him against personal attacks in the media. So, it’s not surprising that she is now pushing back on the hysterical left’s call for boycotting any business linked to a Trump friend or supporter.
Elmore is now a political strategist, lawyer, and Turning Point USA brand ambassador, according to her Instagram account. She was a contestant on season three of the Celebrity Apprentice.
The Democrats have failed so far to learn the lessons of 2016. When attacked, Trump punches back and his supporters rally to his defense. In the case of the SoulCycle boycott, the result is that the Trump campaign’s coffers are fuller than expected. The expected amount to be raised from the Friday fundraiser at Stephen Ross’s Hamptons house and a second fundraiser was $10 million but the total was $12 million. The second fundraiser was hosted by Rep. Lee Zeldin, Don Trump, Jr. and Kimberly Guilfoyle.

Trump retweeted Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel, who wrote: “Thanks to the unhinged mob on the left, @realDonaldTrump raised $12M today, $2M more than originally expected. The support for our President is unprecedented and growing!”
Maybe Elmore will carry through with wearing a MAGA hat to a SoulCycle class. She could have the hat with her and slip it on as a class starts and watch the reactions from her classmates. Captured on video, of course. That might be an entertaining bit of reality television on its own.

In July Epstein was found injured and in a fetal position inside his cell at a New York City jail.
He was reportedly put under suicide watch.
On Saturday he reportedly hanged himself.
By noon the #ClintonBodyCount hashtag had over 84,000 mentions.
So Twitter took it down.
It was too damaging to the Clintons and Democrat Party.
Trump Body Count… That makes no sense — was still up despite having less than a third number of mentions as the Clinton hashtag.
Several TGP readers are telling us the #ClintonBodyCount hashtag was deleted from the trending list this afternoon.
