Trump again speciously blamed for the insanity of others

 

It is hardly a surprise that the leftists in the media and among the Democratic presidential candidates would immediately blame President Trump for the two horrific mass shootings that occurred over thirteen hours on Saturday.  It’s what they do.  Having no scruples whatsoever, they jump at every opportunity to malign the president, no matter how specious their accusations.  

This time may well be the worst of their politicizing of gruesome mass shootings.  Booker, Klobuchar, AOC, Buttigieg, et. al. could not wait to place the blame for these mass murders on Trump and his 70 million supporters.  While Trump has never uttered a racist word, their main talking point, the only plan they have to defeat Trump in 2020 is to convince voters that he is a hardcore racist.  

They all know that he is nothing of the kind.  They all know he de-segregated his elite golf club of Palm Beach.  They know he was pals with Don King, Mike Tyson, even the odious Al Sharpton in the old days.  They all know he is not a racist, but they do not care about the truth.  They only care about defeating the man who is showing them up day after day since he was elected by succeeding.  

In short, our Left is pathetic.  Pathetic because there is no there there.  They have no viable plans to pitch to 2020 voters.  Anyone who watched the debates knows that all they have is rage and anger; no vision, no respect for Trump’s many accomplishments so far, just unmitigated fury.  

So again, their default position after two more mass murders, again by two twenty-somethings angry at the world for their own personal deficits, their own internal demons, the left goes for the jugular and blames Trump within minutes of the events. They blame him before they know that both shooters were Democrats.  The media even tried to alter the El Paso shooter’s manifesto to make him a republican.  That is how unscrupulous and desperate they are.  

It is well and truly monstrous.  Op-ed writers like the despicable Jennifer Rubin cheered the ridiculous words of Beto O’Rourke, and candidate Pete Buttigieg blamed Trump as soon as they could get in front of a television camera.  No matter that both shooters have been ill for far longer than Trump has been in office.  Details, details!  

As Dennis Prager has often noted, truth is not a leftist value.  No. They favor fake news because they truly believe that voters, especially Trump supporters, are toothless, ignorant rubes.  They think that by coordinating their principal talking point, “Trump is a white nationalist, a racist,” that enough voters will be fooled and vote for their economy-killing, healthcare-demolishing agenda.   Clearly, voters are not that stupid.  

Who is actually moronic?  The leftists in Congress and their cohorts in the media who speak with one voice, with the exact same words and phrases.  Who doles out the talking points?  Who is the ventriloquist that puts the same words and phrases in their mouths?  Soros?  Tom Perez?  Tom Steyer?  The Democracy Integrity Project (TDIP)?  

Who knows?  But we do know this:  Whoever it is hates this country and wants to destroy it as founded or at least transform it, as Obama promised to do and, to a large extent, did.   Does anyone think that the Left would, as they are now, want to ban free speech had not Obama been President for eight years?  Would toddlers be undergoing gender transition?   Would the notion of over fifty gender identities be listed and accepted as real on university campuses?  Would transgendered men to women be destroying women’s competitive sports?  Would the left have succeeded in making all restrooms non-gender, even in elementary schools? 

 No, to all of the above.  These things all came about under Obama and with his enthusiastic approval.  Trump was elected because a majority of American people fear for their country for good reason.  It has been under attack for decades by the radical left and was granted free rein under Obama with his blessings.  

So enamored of their freedom to lie, to malign the innocent, to fabricate narratives (The Russia hoax) to further their goals, the Left has abased itself yet again by pretending that Trump is to blame for the crimes of insane, deranged persons.  He of course is not.  

Who is to blame?  The vicious left, the media that fans the flames of violence day after day with impunity, ever proud of their work.  They encourage and praise the violence of Antifa.  

What the American Left has become over the last ten years is reprehensible, ignoble.  They loathe the nation and its millions of people who just want to be left alone, to be self-reliant and free.   They want to enjoy the liberty guaranteed by our Constitution.  By jumping to blame Trump for the crimes of others leftists have demeaned themselves once again.  They will not be rewarded for their malfeasance.

The definitions of “sex” and “gender identity” are heading to SCOTUS… sort of

For some time now, we’ve been waiting for a court case that could clear up some of the rather daunting questions arising from issues of transgender rights and how they intersect with traditional views on privacy and the segregation of the genders. A variety of these cases have produced a mixed bag of results in the lower courts and the Supreme Court has seemed reluctant to do more than nibble around the edges of the underlying questions. That may be about to change, though perhaps not for the better.

The Daily Signal has a good summary of such a case where oral arguments will be presented before the Supremes on October 8th. The case is R.G. & G.R. Harris Funeral Homes Inc. v. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). The case centers on Tom and Nancy Rost, who operate a family-owned funeral home in the Detroit area.

Six years ago, one of their male employees announced that he was transgender and planned to begin dressing as a woman at work. Tom reportedly agonized over the decision and the impact it might have on his female employees and, even more so, their grieving clients. In the end, he decided he couldn’t allow the employee to do that and declined the request. In short order, he was sued by the EEOC. And as the Daily Signal points out, it’s a decision that could have a dramatic impact on small businesses around the country.

Later, following the commission’s urging, a federal court of appeals effectively redefined the word “sex” in federal law to mean “gender identity.”

Enacted by Congress in 1964, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act has long protected women, along with racial and religious minorities, from unjust discrimination in the workplace.

Redefining the term “sex” in that law to mean “gender identity” would create chaotic, unworkable situations and unjustly punish business owners like Tom while destroying important gains women and girls have made over the past 50 years.

Indeed, Tom Rost’s case, in which Alliance Defending Freedom represents the funeral home, is just the tip of the iceberg.

Speaking as someone who has been digging into the broader aspects of this subject for some time now, I regret to say that this is probably just about the worst case you could pick to send to the Supreme Court, and not just because it looks likely to go against the defendants. The problems here are many, but the biggest one is the type of action that the employer is trying to engage in.

We’ve covered more transgender lawsuits here than I can count, but the big ones that have been of interest almost uniformly revolve around either issues of privacy or fairness, particularly in competitive sports. The former generally deal with public access to bathrooms, lockers, and showers while the latter focus on males identifying as females competing against actual women in sporting events. In all these cases, natural women and girls frequently come out on the losing end when they go before a judge.

In Harris Funeral Homes, while the issue of bathroom access comes up (and could be easily resolved) this primarily comes down to an employment opportunity question. What the owners have done is basically informed their employee that they can’t keep their job if they dress as the opposite sex. We shouldn’t be in the business of denying jobs to transgender workers, to begin with, and the court will probably read the case that way and find for the plaintiff.

Even worse, this case gives the Supremes an open invitation to ignore the larger, underlying questions we need answered and duck out of a sticky situation with a very narrow, tailored ruling. This case does nothing to address the question of whether or not “identifying” as the opposite gender actually makes you that other gender in the eyes of the law. It doesn’t force the justices to demand answers in terms of the “science” behind transgender claims. It doesn’t take into account the issues surrounding the natural physical advantages males have over females in competitive environments.

No, this case ignores all of that and allows the plaintiff to basically frame this as a question of whether or not the funeral home can force him to dress a certain way for work and fire him if he fails to comply. And of course, the answer to that question is no. It’s not a question of sloppy or inappropriate clothing. It’s gender-specific clothing. And as longs as the clothes are clean and professional-looking, you could no more fire a woman dressed in a suit, tie and trousers than you could a man wearing a gown. Nor should you.

What we need to see is one of these cases of men competing in women’s sports make it to the Supreme Court and attempt to force them to answer these question of whether or not these are actually women and how fair or unfair such competitions are. Don’t be shocked if the Supremes duck away from Harris Funeral Homes on those larger issues and treat this as an equal employment opportunity case. It’s what they love to do in the trickier social conflict cases (as well as with the Second Amendment) and they will almost certainly take that escape hatch here if it’s available.

Donald Trump Blames Shooting Violence on ‘Fake News’ Media

President Donald Trump accused the “fake news” media of creating a climate of anger in the United States after 30 people were killed in a pair of mass shootings over the weekend.

“The Media has a big responsibility to life and safety in our Country,” Trump wrote on Twitter Monday. “Fake News has contributed greatly to the anger and rage that has built up over many years.”

The president spoke after a right-wing extremist was revealed as the alleged perpetrator behind the shooting in Texas that killed 20 and a left-wing extremist killed 10 in Ohio.

Trump responded to the news featuring dozens of 2020 Democrats blaming the shootings on the president, accusing him of stoking white nationalism, hatred, and violence in the country.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren blamed the attacks in Texas on Fox News.

“We need to call it out: Fox News is a hate-for-profit machine that gives a megaphone to racists and conspiracists,” she wrote on Twitter.

But Trump pointed back to the establishment media.

“News coverage has got to start being fair, balanced and unbiased, or these terrible problems will only get worse!” Trump wrote.

The president plans to address the shootings Monday from the White House at 10:00 a.m. EST.

On Saturday the El Paso mass murderer posted a “manifesto” on 8Chan and then went off and murdered 20 at a Walmart.

On Monday Cloudflare Blog terminated service with 8Chan.
Cloudflare also blamed the website for “inspiring” the mass murderer.

This is where we are today with hard left activists running all of our internet properties.

Chicago hospital overwhelmed with gunshot victims, stops accepting new patients

So while all the press attention was on the shocking sudden massacres in El Paso and Dayton, which killed 29 innocent people, something in some ways even bigger and uglier was going on in Chicago:

Chicago’s Mount Sinai Hospital temporarily stopped accepting patients Sunday morning because they were at capacity following a series of shootings, a hospital official said.

CHICAGO (CBS) — Dozens of people were shot in Chicago over the weekend, including two mass shootings in less than three hours on Sunday. In all, seven people were killed and 46 others were wounded in shootings since Friday evening.

More than a dozen people were wounded, one of them fatally, in a pair of mass shootings in the Lawndale neighborhood early Sunday.

 

It was a routine report, meaning, it happens so often that every weekend has large numbers of shooting victims. It’s like an El Paso event of its own, weekend after weekend, after weekend, and its totals certainly top those of El Paso when taken in sum.

 

Yet it doesn’t get the wall-to-wall press coverage this freak from Dallas, and his copycat savage in Dayton get. It’s just blue-city business as usual, another weekend, another slew of killings, and another hospital that is booked solid from gunshot victims, can’t take any more, try the next hospital.

 

That’s sorry stuff. Wonder why the Democrats whipping up the El Paso outrage for political gain don’t like to mention it?

The hospital went “on bypass” in the early morning, said Roberta Rakove, Senior VP for External Affairs.

Hospitals use the term “on bypass” when they stop accepting ambulance runs and those ambulances are diverted to other trauma centers. Mount Sinai Hospital is one of five trauma centers in Chicago, according to Rakove.

 

At its height early Sunday morning, Mount Sinai had 12 trauma patients, Rakove said. She could not provide information on their conditions.
