A few days ago, actress Ellen Page publicly blasted actor Chris Pratt for his membership in an “infamously anti lgbtq” church. The comment sparked a week’s worth of backlash against Pratt, who eventually issued a statement denying the charges of homophobia. In reality, Hillsong, the church Pratt attends along with Justin Bieber and some of the Kardashian clan, is far from doctrinally traditionalist. If it’s “infamous” for anything, it’s certainly not social conservatism. When Page attacks Pratt for attending an “infamously anti lgbtq” church, she’s really just attacking him for attending any church at all.

The same can be said about the recent criticisms of Karen Pence, who experienced significant blowback for getting a job at a Christian school. It was claimed that her school is “homophobic” and “anti-gay” simply because it professes Biblical views on sexuality. There are, of course, many other examples of Christians being targeted by the Left for holding Christian beliefs, or attending Christian churches or schools, or attempting to operate their businesses according to Christian precepts. These assaults by the Left are almost always painted as a defense of LGBT people, who are allegedly deeply harmed by the very existence of Christian institutions and Christian ideas. But this is all a smokescreen.

The anti-Christian attacks have little to do with gay rights. How else do you explain the fact that the Left never subjects Muslims to this sort of scrutiny? The orthodox forms of all three Abrahamic religions all share the same fundamental view on human sexuality. They all three say that sex and marriage are to be reserved for man-woman relationships. They all three believe that procreation cannot be severed absolutely from the sexual act. Two men cannot get married in a conservative Christian church, but neither can they marry in an orthodox synagogue or a mosque.

We must also note that majority Muslim countries are, to borrow a phrase, infamously anti-LGBT. Sometimes, depending on the country, those anti-gay sentiments are expressed through violence and legal persecution. Gays in the United States, a majority Christian country, live in peace and safety. The same cannot be said for gays in Pakistan or Iran.

Yet you will never hear the likes of Ellen Page criticizing a Muslim actor for his faith. The media will never question Rep. Ilhan Omar about her mosque’s positions on marriage and sexuality. The Left summarily exonerated Islam from suspicions of “homophobia,” even though homophobia in Islam can often take a brutal and horrifying form. Just as Islam’s attitude towards women continue to go unexamined even as Mike Pence is charged with sexism for declining to attend lunch dates with female colleagues. The double standard is glaring. And it proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that the Left’s problem with Christianity cannot be boiled down to any one specific teaching. They just hate Christianity in general, as a whole, and I’m not even sure if they know why anymore.

President Barack Obama may have forgotten, but the Terry family didn’t, America didn’t and apparently, President Donald Trump didn’t either. Now, after more than eight years, at least some justice has been served in the case of the murder of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry.

On December 14, 2010, Terry was killed while on duty just north of Nogales, Texas. Two of the guns found at the scene of Terry’s murder were later publicly identified as part of Obama’s “Fast and Furious operation,” The Associated Press reported.

The operation involved allowing criminals to purchase weapons so they could then be tracked to the cartels and any other criminal organizations involved. But the plan failed as “the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives lost track of most of the guns.”

During Obama’s tenure, border patrol agents had been made impotent in matters of both border and personal security while on the job. Terry and the three other members of his team had reportedly been under standing orders to use bean bag rounds first when confrontations occurred.

So while the team used those non-lethal rounds after coming upon the suspects, who entered the county illegally, the suspects fired live ammunition, killing Terry.

In 2015, two members of the criminal crew had been captured and convicted, although neither was believed to have been the one who killed Terry.

Now Terry’s killer has not only been captured but was convicted for murdering Agent Terry, the AP reported.

38-year-old Heraclio Osorio-Arellanes had been captured in April 2017 in Mexico, while authorities there were working in cooperation with “Customs and Border Patrol, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the DEA and US Marshals,” according to a DHS news release, CNN reported.

Osorio-Arellanes was convicted of first-degree murder and “second-degree murder, conspiracy to affect interstate commerce by robbery, attempted robbery, assault on four Border Patrol agents and carrying a firearm during a crime of violence,” the AP reported. His sentencing hearing is scheduled for April 29.

For six years under Obama, the Terry family waited for this man to be captured and brought to justice. It was under Trump’s administration that their painful wait was finally put to an end.

The sentencing will not bring their beloved Terry back. But it will help them have some of the closure they needed all these years.

But the story does not stop there. There is still the matter of the Fast and Furious operation, which Terry’s brother, Kent, wants Trump to re-investigate.

Approximately a year after Osorio-Arellanes was captured, Kent made clear during an interview on NRATV’s “Cam & Company” that it goes far beyond the murder of his brother. He said that a number of issues with the Fast and Furious operation are worthy of further review.

Kent also stated that some of those missing weapons “are still out there.” That, too, is something to be concerned about.

If Trump does open a re-investigation into the matter, it could not only result in criminal prosecutions, but answers and closure for the many families negatively impacted by the operation.

Trump is so popular that last weekend, a festival in Viareggio, Italy featured a four-story-tall “God Emperor Trump” that were it to ever appear in the USA, would be the final straw that sends the left over the edge.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was a nobody only a year ago but following the bushwhacking of entrenched establishment Democrat Joe Crowley in New York’s 14th congressional district primary became a media sensation and was anointed as the “future” of the Democratic party by many including DNC boss Tom Perez.

AOC went on to win her election and roared into Washington trailing an entourage of sycophantic media types and took the town by storm. Most recently, Ocasio-Cortez launched the blueprint for the socialist transformation of the United States that is the Green New Deal and despite a bumpy rollout amid mockery about farting cows, she has managed to lie her ass off and be propped up by the media again.

To think that it was only late last year when the temperamental 29-year-old with a voice like a trapped squirrel was bitching that she was unable to afford an apartment in D.C. but now has moved into a costly pad that would seem to be a serious contradiction to AOC’s championing of the poor and downtrodden but hey, this is how socialism really works.

The leaders eat like pigs and the rest of the people can eat shit.

After fretting about whether she’d be able to afford rent, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D., N.Y.) has moved into a luxury apartment building in the District of Columbia’s Navy Yard neighborhood, the Washington Free Beacon has learned.

Ocasio-Cortez, a member of the Democratic Socialists of America, got a big raise with her election to Congress, a job that comes with a $174,000 annual salary. She told the New York Times she was concerned about how she would get an apartment before that salary kicked in.

She ended up moving into a luxury apartment building with a wide array of amenities where rent for even a studio apartment exceeds $2,000 a month. The Washington Free Beacon is not disclosing the exact building Ocasio-Cortez lives in due to safety concerns expressed by her office.

Her office pushed back against the notion that it was hypocritical for Ocasio-Cortez, who has made housing affordability one of her top policy concerns, to move into a luxury building. A spokesman pointed out that her office also uses a car with an “internal combustion engine that runs on fossil fuels,” even though she thinks their use should be eliminated.

Many sympathized with Ocasio-Cortez’s stated difficulty with finding an apartment in D.C., where rents have been on the rise in recent years. Affording a second residence in the capital has proven to be a challenge for lawmakers on both sides of the aisle, with some choosing to live together with colleagues or to bunk up in their congressional office as cost-saving measures.

Hypocrisy? But of course it is but the media will once again fly to her defense.
