Hah-Hah! Democrat Blackface Governor Promises to Be “Moral Compass” for Virginia (VIDEO)

You just can’t make this stuff up.

A picture from Democrat Virginia Governor Ralph Northam’s medical school yearbook surfaced earlier this month showing two men, one in a KKK hood and robe and one in ‘blackface’ on Northam’s yearbook page.

The photo was first published by Big League Politics and later confirmed by other outlets such as WaPo and The Virginian Pilot.

One half of the page shows Ralph Northam wearing a suit jacket and a tie, a photo of him in a cowboy hat and boots and another of him leaning up against a convertible.

Governor Ralph Northam later said the photo was not of him and Friday was the first time he saw the photo in blackface.

Governor Northam refused to step down for the racist stunt.
Instead he is going to make Virginia voters pay reparations so he can save his job.

On Sunday Governor Northam went on CBS News with Gayle King.

Northam promised to be the “moral compass” for Virginia moving forward.

Typical Democrat.

MUST SEE: Unhinged Leftist Amy Klobuchar Rants Against Global Warming — Then Immediately Eats Mouthfull of Snow (VIDEO)

Democrat Senator Amy Klobuchar announced her run for President Saturday during a blizzard in Minnesota.

She made global warming a major piece of her platform and announcement.
It was 8° in Minneapolis on Saturday.

And it was a blizzard.
Nice roll-out, Amy.

It was such a natural disaster that the president took notice.

Following her lecture on global warming (in a blizzard) Amy Klobuchar hugged her husband and daughter on stage.
When she hugged her daughter she got a mouth-full of snow.

Then she stood there waving at the crowd with snow on her nose.
Hah!

Best roll-out ever!

Joe Manchin Reveals Democrats’ Nasty Reaction To Him Standing During SOTU

While polling showed President Donald Trump’s State of the Union address on Tuesday night was overwhelmingly approved by viewers, few Democrat representatives gave an inch in showcasing their support for even highly bipartisan issues mentioned by Trump, because, of course, they were mentioned by Trump, and #Resist. Or something.

Aside from Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV), there were only a handful of Democrats who stood up to applaud the president during the speech. And the Democrats who did dare to show support for Trump, like Manchin, were not received well by their fellow Democrats.

Speaking to high school students at West Virginia’s Webster County High School on Wednesday, Manchin revealed that he could hear boos behind him when he stood up to applaud the president, though he was unsure if they were directed at him or Trump, and could “feel the daggers,” especially when he had the gall to applaud Trump’s call to end gruesome late-term abortion.

The most “controversial thing I applauded,” said Manchin, according to The Washington Examiner, were pro-life statements. “Well, there’s just no way that I could ever. I mean how anybody could support late-term abortions?”

“There could be no greater contrast to the beautiful image of a mother holding her infant child than the chilling displays our nation saw in recent days,” President Trump said during the address. “Lawmakers in New York cheered with delight upon the passage of legislation that would allow a baby to be ripped from the mother’s womb moments from birth. These are living, feeling, beautiful babies who will never get the chance to share their love and dreams with the world. And then, we had the case of the Governor of Virginia where he stated he would execute a baby after birth. To defend the dignity of every person, I am asking Congress to pass legislation to prohibit the late-term abortion of children who can feel pain in the mother’s womb. Let us work together to build a culture that cherishes innocent life.”

“Late-term abortions, my goodness. It would have to be a dire medical situation,” continued Manchin, adding that full-term abortion bills supported by prominent Democrats are “just totally unconscionable to me.”

Addressing a photo of Democrat Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez staring down the senator for standing and applauding Trump’s pro-life remarks, Manchin said, “My goodness. Well, I could hear the boos a little bit, you know, I didn’t know if the boos were for the president or for me standing, I wasn’t sure. But I could sure feel the daggers.”

Manchin also revealed that Trump personally thanked him for standing and applauding bipartisan actions he expressed on Tuesday night.

“I said, ‘Mr. President, I’ve always stated that I know my state well and that it’s something that my state and I represent the people of my state, I’m going to stand up and be respectful. When I thought the things that you were saying resonated with something I might believe in but definitely my state supports, I’m gonna be there and show the courtesy and manners that I think that I was raised with,'” the senator revealed.

Senator Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) was another Democrat to dance to the beat of her own drum at moments during the State of the Union. When president Trump announced the passing of the Right to Try Act, which allows for the gravely ill to try experimental drugs, Sinema stood up and enthusiastically applauded. The bill, notably, got its start in Arizona.

The reaction from fellow Democrats to Sinema was seemingly just as unpleasant as their reaction to Manchin standing:

PragerU: America Wants Legal Immigrants

I am the proud son of immigrants from Bangladesh. I was raised in New York City, which has benefited enormously from the energy and ambition of the millions of people born abroad who’ve chosen to make it their home. But I also believe that America’s immigration system needs to work for America, and right now, that is simply not the case.

We need a new immigration system. So what should it be? We’re often presented with two stark choices: Severe restrictions or open borders. I think there’s a better way.

But before I offer a solution, let’s look at the usual suspects. The case for open borders is, on the surface, pretty attractive. Tens of millions of people around the world would be grateful to come to America for the chance to live in peace and earn a decent living. The vast majority of them mean us no harm. Why not give them a chance to share in the blessings of liberty?

The simple answer is that our country is more than just a marketplace. We’re a democracy based on a social contract. Americans pay taxes so that, among other things, the poorest, most unlucky among us can still lead decent and dignified lives.

If you can’t work, you might be eligible for unemployment benefits or disability. If you do work but your paycheck doesn’t go far enough for you to afford medical care or food for your kids, we have a safety net designed to help you stay afloat.

Liberals and conservatives disagree on how extensive this safety net ought to be, but they all agree it needs to be there. The question is, how we far are willing to stretch it?

A century ago, immigrants who found they couldn’t make it in America had little choice but to go back home. That is no longer the case. These days, immigrants who can’t earn enough to support their families have access to many government benefits. That doesn’t make them bad people. In an age of offshoring and automation, wages for menial jobs don’t go very far. If we only admitted a modest number of low-skill immigrants—say, as political refugees—we could easily handle it. But over the past forty years, we have allowed millions of low-skill immigrants into the country, both legally and illegally. While highly-educated immigrants pay far more in taxes than they consume in benefits, the opposite is true of immigrants with less than a high school diploma

Immigrant engineers working for Google, Amazon and Apple do just fine without government help. The immigrant janitors and busboys who serve them struggle to afford housing and to give their kids a decent start in life. Without government aid, many would go hungry. If we were to open our borders, the number of low-skilled immigrants would skyrocket, and so too would the cost of meeting their needs. Ironically, this would only exacerbate the wealth disparity that so animates the open borders crowd.

Maybe the rich could wall themselves off in gated communities. But the growing ranks of the poor and even the middle class would have to deal with ever more strained social services. That could provoke resentment strong enough to set off real class warfare.

If open borders are a bad idea, so too is severely restricting immigration. For one, immigration has always been part of the American story. And it continues to be an essential source of talent, from Silicon Valley to medicine to pro sports. Why shut ourselves off from the dynamism and energy that immigrants can bring?

Thankfully, there is a way to fix this problem.

We can modernize the system to give priority to those who have strong skills and job offers— people, in other words, who will pay more in taxes than they need in benefits.

Today, we admit about two-thirds of immigrants on the basis of family ties and only 15 percent on the basis of skills. We need a course correction. We should limit family immigration to immediate family members—such as spouses and minor children—while greatly expanding the number of skills-based visas.

A skills-based points system would be a huge boon for people around the world looking to live the American Dream. It would give them a predictable, step-by-step guide for how to better their chances at a green card. Just as importantly, by prioritizing immigrants with strong skills, we’d make the safety net much easier to sustain for those with low skills—whom we’d still admit, albeit at a more modest level.

Let’s announce to the world that if you’re ambitious, if you have skills we prize, the golden door is open. If you can support yourself and your family, and add to our economy, we want you. If we aspire to an immigration system that works, this the most realistic—and idealistic—choice.

“It’s all about the Benjamins baby”: Even fellow Dems object to Omar’s anti-Semitic attacks on Twitter; Update: House Dems circulating petition demanding action from Pelosi

Twitter may be a sewer run by hypocritical hacks, but occasionally it performs the public service of mask removal. Last night, frosh House Democrat Ilhan Omar from right here in Minnesota suggested that Republican support for Israel originates in money from the Joooooooos. Ironically, Omar was responding to a rebuke by Glenn Greenwald to House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, who had called out Omar for earlier anti-Semitism:

On Sunday night, Omar was responding to a tweet from prominent journalist Glenn Greenwald, who said, “Equating [Omar and Tlaib’s] criticism of Israel to Steve King’s long defense of white supremacy is obscene (McCarthy said it’s worse). In the US, we’re allowed to criticize our own government: certainly foreign governments. The GOP House Leader’s priorities are warped.”

In response to Greewald’s post, Omar tweeted, “It’s all about the Benjamins baby,” followed by a music emoji, which suggested that money was calling the tune for McCarthy.

When asked to explain where the money she was referring to came from, Omar tweeted: “AIPAC.”

An Omar spokesman said the tweets “speak for themselves.”

Er, they do indeed, and no one missed the point, either. The Washington Post certainly noticed it:

Democrats including Chelsea Clinton and Rep. Max Rose (D-N.Y.) and Republicans such as Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.), Rep. Lee Zeldin (R-N.Y.), and Nikki Haley, the former U.S. ambassador to the United Nationswere among those to condemn Omar’s comments as anti-Semitic. Rep Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) called for her removal from the House Foreign Affairs Committee.

The American Jewish Committee demanded an apology, calling her suggestion that AIPAC is paying American politicians for their support “demonstrably false and stunningly anti-Semitic.” The organization linked to a 2018 Gallup poll finding that 64 percent of Americans sympathize with the Israelis over the Palestinians, saying, “American politicians are pro-Israel because Americans are.”

“Please learn how to talk about Jews in a non-anti-Semitic way. Sincerely, American Jews,” Ungar-Sargon wrote back to Omar, a statement that Clinton said she seconded.

Chelsea Clinton even weighed in on Omar’s conspiracy theorizing:

Rose, also a first-term House Democrat, issued a sharp rebuke of his own to Omar:

CNN’s State of the Union host Jake Tapper rebuked both Omar and Greenwald for mistaking McCarthy’s point in the first place:

The House took action against King’s comments by passing a resolution of disapproval generally condemning white supremacy. King voted for the resolution, which only made passing reference to his comments.

Republicans, led by New York Rep. Lee Zeldin, have already drafted a similar resolution to rebuke Tlaib and Omar. It references some of their remarks, and expresses the sense of the House that the body “rejects anti-Israel and anti-Semitic hatred in the United States and around the world.”

McCarthy’s action could be to file that or a similar measure as a privileged resolution, which would trigger a two-day time clock in which the House must hold a vote on it. Democrats could move to table a privileged resolution, however, as a way to prevent a straight up or down vote.

The AIPAC comment doesn’t make any sense at all, by the way, even though the Washington Post attempts to contextualize it. Yes, their members donate to candidates directly, but (a) there’s no data to suggest that it’s only going to Republicans, and (b) AIPAC itself doesn’t donate to campaigns at all. Its 501(c)(4) status prevents it from doing so. Omar appears to have tossed out that accusation out of sheer ignorance, which is no surprise to anyone who’s followed her political career so far. And if its members donate heavily to pro-Israel politicians, it’s because they associate together in AIPAC on that basis.

Even at that, though, AIPAC represents a minority of Jewish voters in terms of partisan support, a point overlooked by Omar and the rest of the Jew-gold conspiracy thinkers.  Jewish voters overwhelmingly support Democrats at the ballot box. Hillary Clinton got 71% of the Jewish vote in 2016, Barack Obama got 69% in 2012, and so on. Although one does have to wonder just how long that will continue in an age of Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib, and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

Update: The pressure is ramping up on Nancy Pelosi to do something about her growing caucus of anti-Semites, and it’s ramping up from the inside:

Two Jewish House Democrats, alarmed by what they view as anti-Semitic comments from new Muslim colleagues, are urging Speaker Nancy Pelosi and her top lieutenants to denounce the divisive rhetoric and take action to stop it.

Reps. Josh Gottheimer of New Jersey and Elaine Luria of Virginia are gathering signatures on a letter asking Pelosi (Calif.), House Majority Leader Steny H. Hoyer (Md.) and other senior Democrats to confront freshman Reps. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota and Rashida Tlaib of Michigan by “reiterating our rejection of anti-Semitism and our continued support for the State of Israel.”

“As Jewish Members of Congress, we are deeply alarmed by recent rhetoric from certain members within our Caucus, including just last night, that has disparaged us and called into question our loyalty to our nation,” the letter reads, according to a draft viewed by The Washington Post. “We urge you to join us in calling on each member of our Caucus to unite against anti-Semitism and hateful tropes and stereotypes.

While the letter does not name Omar and Tlaib, its intention couldn’t be clearer. In fact, Jewish lawmakers in recent weeks have huddled privately to discuss what they should do about their new colleagues who openly criticize Israel and have made insensitive comments about Jews and Jewish Americans.

Maybe Pelosi should have acted when McCarthy first suggested it.

Obama’s Ambassador to Israel: Democrats Must Speak up Against Ilhan Omar

Dan Shapiro, who served as President Barack Obama’s ambassador to Israel from 2011 to 2017, called on fellow Democrats to denounce the anti-Israel and antisemitic views of Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) on Monday morning.

In a series of tweets, Shapiro revealed that there had been an ongoing effort by other Democrats to reach out to Omar in the hope that she would broaden her “extreme view” of Israel. These efforts, he said, had failed.

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) is facing growing calls to rescind Omar’s appointment to the House Foreign Affairs Committee — a position Omar indicated last month was her first choice of committee assignment.

BOOM! Trump Approval Hits 52% — 9 Point Jump in 10 Days and One SOTU Address!

President Trump’s approval rating is up 9 points since Friday, February 1.

President Trump’s approval rating reached 52% on Monday following the State of the Union Address last Tuesday.

Barack Obama’s approval rating was at 50% at a similar point in his presidency.

This is also despite national mainstream media reporting negatively on the highly successful President Trump 92% of the time.

Barack Obama had a cake walk with the media.

When President Trump gets a chance to tell his side of the story — unfiltered — and he gets a chance to tell THE FULL STORY with all of his accomplishments that are ignored by the state-run media his approval ratings skyrocket.

Trump should hold quarterly addresses to the nation.

Dumb as a box of rocks: Democrats suddenly realize their Maduro-love will cost them Florida in 2020

For years, Democrats have fallen over themselves to defend Latin American communist dictatorships.  Who can forget Rep. Maxine Waters’s apology to the Castro regime for the U.S. on her pilgrimage to Cuba or Rep. Jim McGovern’s secret collaborations with Colombia’s Marxist FARC terrorists or New York mayor Bill de Blasio’s “help” to the Nicaraguan Sandinistas or Sen. Bernie Sanders’s open praise for Hugo Chávez’s Venezuela?  And don’t forget Joe Kennedy’s Dial Joe-4-Oil, which was a gusher of propaganda praise for Venezuela’s oppressive socialist regime.

They’ve always gotten away with it.  Until now.

They suddenly are realizing that the Maduro-lovers and Trump-resisters in their ranks, who happen to be some of their biggest “it” girls with the loudest voices — Rep. Ilhan Omar, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, and some others — who have supported Venezuela’s detested Maduro regime in recent weeks, as well as old dinosaurs such as Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, who was all worried about the U.S. invading Venezuela, and Silent Ted Deutch representing south Florida…are all kissing the purple swing state of Florida goodbye for the Democrats in 2020.

The New York Times reports this development as alarming for Democrats:

Venezuela, not Cuba, now dominates Miami’s political conversation.  A television anchor not long ago ended a somber segment with a promise to keep praying for the troubled South American country.  Venezuelans in the city have gathered for demonstrations to coincide with protests back home.  Even the Miami-Dade County Commission, a local body with no control over foreign policy, voted unanimously to recognize the opposition leader Juan Guaidó as Venezuela’s interim president.

The shift has been coming on gradually for years, but it has accelerated in recent weeks as Venezuela has sunk further into crisis and its leftist president, Nicolás Maduro, has clung defiantly to power.  The showdown in Caracas is reshaping Latino politics in South Florida, home to the highest concentration of Venezuelans in the United States.

The change is not a mere demographic curiosity.  In Florida, where major elections have repeatedly been decided by tiny margins, an inflection point around Venezuela’s leadership could help define a generation of Venezuelan-American voters, who number in the tens of thousands in this state.  President Trump is pushing Mr. Maduro to step aside, and if he succeeds, Democrats fear it could transform Venezuelan-Americans into loyal Republicans, much like Cuban-Americans.

It’s an amazing own-goal of political stupidity.  They saw Venezuela as a chit with which to beat Trump and loudly touted socialism (Venezuelans already know how that works) and forgot that there are living, breathing Venezuelans and Venezuelan-Americans over in Florida, who have a lot of Latino friends there.  Some of those three million Venezuelans who have fled socialism have, surprise, ended up in Florida.  The consequences of that are going to be big for Democrats.

What politician of any smarts couldn’t see that happening?  In Omar’s case, I think Russian sponsorship is worth looking at, but the others just don’t seem to think about these strategic things at all.  To ditzes such as Ocasio-Cortez and Gabbard, Venezuela is a cartoon drawing on a map involving only Venezuelans, who, to them, are foreigners far, far away, instead of a place very much present throughout south Florida and all Florida, actually, and with a strong enough presence to swing the vote.  The Times mentioned that the other Latinos in Florida tend to support them — Colombians, Nicaraguans, Bolivians, Puerto Ricans, Argentines, and of course Cubans.  These people are a critical mass in Florida, and they know the deal in Caracas.

President Trump could see that and made a smart alliance with GOP senator Marco Rubio, a former GOP rival, and the pair of them worked as a tag team with Venezuelan-Americans, likely advising them on how to play the Maduro card to get rid of Maduro.  Maduro is on his way out due to that master squeeze from the U.S., with Venezuelans cheering (over in Caracas, they are actually cheering Trump) along with almost all of Latin America and Europe.  Omar, Ocasio-Cortez, and Gabbard are going to be left with their Maduro endorsements and no Maduro to speak of in coming weeks.  More important, they lose their fellow Democrats the huge swing state of Florida.  What a shiner.
