President Donald Trump said Friday there was a “good chance” of declaring a State of Emergency on the Southern border, shortly after announcing his short-term surrender to Democrats on the partial government shutdown fight.
“I think we have a good chance,” Trump told reporters at the White House. “We’ll work with the Democrats and negotiate and if we can’t do that, then obviously we’ll do the emergency because that’s what it is. It’s a national emergency.”
Declaring a national emergency would allow the president to shift funding to secure the border without Congress, although it would likely be challenged in court.
The president made his remarks during a White House event with Hispanic pastors on Friday to discuss the importance of security on the Southern border.
Earlier Friday, Trump specified that he would reopen the government for three weeks to give negotiators more time to work out a border security compromise. A bipartisan committee will work together with the Department of Homeland Security to come up with a border security package for the president to sign.
The president was still adamant about funding more physical barriers on the border.
“If we don’t have that wall and we don’t have a very powerful barrier, it’s all just a waste of time,” he wrote. “It can’t work. Can’t work. So we’ll get it.”
On Friday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s “Daily Briefing,” Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) stated that if Democrats won’t make a deal on immigration, DACA and Temporary Protected Status (TPS) recipients will lose “Because this president will secure our border through executive action.”
Graham said, “This is the first time in 12 years I’ve seen a deal where you secure your border and give a better life to the DACA/TPS population. If the Democrats do not work with us, the biggest losers, in my view, are going to be the TPS/DACA recipients. Because this president will secure our border through executive action.”
Graham added that if Democrats aren’t willing to make a deal, “I hope he will go the emergency route.”
In an appearance Friday on Huntsville’s WVNN, Rep. Mo Brooks (R-AL) reacted to President Donald Trump’s announcement the federal government would be reopening at least through February 15.
Brooks praised the positives of the deal, mainly getting federal government employees paid, but also weighed in on the negative aspect of it, which was not addressing the border situation.
“There are a lot of pros and cons to it,” Brooks said to WVNN’s “The Jeff Poor Show.” “Some things I feel really good about. Some things I feel really bad about. I’m ecstatic the government is reopening. This partial shutdown had an adverse effect on the economy of the Tennessee Valley, and I believe the federal employees, by way of example the TSA workers that were ordered to work, weren’t being paid for the work that they were ordered to do — that was morally wrong. And that is going to come to an end. So that part I’m happy about.”
“I’m very disappointed — even to the point of being angry that the minimum of 50 Americans who die each day at the hands of illegal aliens, homicides and/or drug overdoses from drugs that come through our porous southern border — that another 1,000-plus are going to die because the Democrats refuse to join us in appropriate border security measures,” Brooks continued. “That’s a minimum of 50 deaths per day because of our porous southern border, times about 20 days — that’s a little over 1,00 people when you add in the additional days. That part is really bad.”
The Alabama congressman maintained the border wall was a necessity in border security, a term many members of Congress are using as they consider what the next move should be as the February 15 deadline approaches.
“There is no border security if you do not have the border wall component,” Brooks said. “Now a border wall itself does not give you border security,” he said. “It helps tremendously, but there are other parts to the bigger picture in order to have border security. But let me be real clear about something — the phrase ‘border security’ means one thing to conservatives and patriots. It means another thing to socialists like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Speaker Nancy Pelosi. To them, border security means helping to secure the entrance and care of those people who illegally cross our border.”
America is full of visible and invisible walls. In the first half of the last century, our politics had been dedicated to tearing down the walls between classes, races and genders. And then in the second half of the century, radicals terrified of what that meant for their plans, began building them up again while adding new divisions until every city, workplace and even family is divided by many invisible walls.
The Media is using sound bites and other optics made to look like a new, although un-elected, president and vice president have somehow emerged on the political scene.
There have been two major attempts to change the calculus of elections and officeholders since the ‘90s. One is a top down ‘reform’ that’s currently being imposed on voters a jurisdiction at a time. The other was a bottom–up effort imposed on the politicians. The fate of the two is very instructive.
A Cincinnati police captain said a would-be robber is dead because a 63-year-old convenience store owner protected herself.
“A 48-year-old individual comes inside, points a gun to her head, demands money,” said Capt. Paul Broxterman.
Police responded to the Glenway Pony Keg on Glenway Avenue at about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday. Officers found James Douglas, 48, had been fatally shot. Broxterman said the man was trying to rob the West Price Hill store, but the owner put up a fight — shooting and killing Douglas.
“She’s nothing short of a hero,” Broxterman said.
That’s just one in a string of crimes that took place in about 12 hours.
The Kurdish chief of the U.S.-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) reportedly vowed on Thursday to clear the remnants of the Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL) from the group’s last bastion near the Iraqi border in northern Syrian within a month.
“We expect there will be an increase in the intensity of IS operations against our forces after the end of their military presence,” Mazloum Kobani, the SDF chief, told the Agence France-Presse (AFP) agency.
In November 2018, the Pentagon’s inspector general (IG) confirmed that ISIS only controls about one percent of the territory it once held, noting that the jihadi group’s last stronghold sits in northern Syria, near the Iraqi border.
Fighters from the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG/YPJ) lead and make up the majority of the SDF, a Kurdish-Arab alliance backed by the U.S.-led coalition against the Islamic State, or IS.
“The operation of our forces against IS in its last pocket has reached its end and IS fighters are now surrounded in one area,” Kobani told AFP.
“We need a month to eliminate IS remnants still in the area,” he also said, adding, “I believe that during the next month we will officially announce the end of the military presence on the ground of the so-called caliphate.”
Along with the U.S.-led coalition, the SDF is part of the last phase (Operation Roundup) that began on September 10 to deal a lasting defeat to the ISIS in northeastern Syria, a region held by the Kurdish Democratic Union Party (PYD), the political wing of the YPG.
With the help of nearly 2,000 American troops and U.S. military equipment, the Syrian Kurds have been able to maintain control of large swathes of northern Syria where they have established an autonomous region.
U.S. President Donald Trump’s decision to withdraw the American troops prompted America’s Syrian Kurdish allies to accuse the United States of betraying them by leaving them vulnerable to attacks from Turkey, which considers the YPG and PYD to be an extension of the Kurdistan Worker’s Party (PKK) communist group. U.S. support for the Syrian Kurds has infuriated Turkey.
Echoing other analysts, the Kurds also believe a quick withdrawal could lead to an ISIS resurgence.
U.S. National Security Adviser John Bolton said early this month that the United States would not withdraw from Syria without assurances from Turkey that the Kurds will be safe and ensuring ISIS’s lasting defeat.
Bolton revealed that a residual American military force would remain in southern Syria to deal with the Iranian threat in the region.
The Pentagon IG warned that ISIS has morphed into “an effective clandestine” group that “has moved underground and is acting as an insurgency in” Iraq and Syria where it still poses a threat.
Kobani noted that the terrorist group’s new tactics include “sleeper cells everywhere, secretly recruiting people again, and carrying out suicide operations, bombings, and assassinations.”
While some U.S. military officials estimate that ISIS only has a couple of thousand jihadis in its last enclave, the Pentagon IG reported that there are “between 20,000 and 30,000” embers of the terrorist group in Iraq and Syria.
Although the SDF captured Hajin, the last town held by ISIS, the terrorist group has carried been able to break out of its territory and carry out a deadly attack against U.S. troops and their allies in recent days. The Syrian Kurds have reached out to the Iranian and Russian-backed regime of dictator Bashar al-Assad for help in repelling an impending attack from Turkey, the SDF chief confirmed.
According to the U.K.-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), a group that uses ground sources to monitor the conflict, intense clashes in and around the region known as “the Hajin pocket” has left hundreds of fighters dead on both side.
The corrupt Trump – Russia collusion witchhunt is not legit. It’s not based on a crime, it is dealing with a scope way outside the special counsel mandate, the entire team is more conflicted than any investigation in US history (beings it’s made up of all far-left Hillary supporters), and its not interested in the truth – only in harming President Trump. To date the Mueller gang hasn’t even looked into the various aspects that the entire sham is based on.
The claim of the need for the special counsel was due to Hillary Clinton’s Campaign Manager’s (John Podesta) emails being obtained by WikiLeaks and released to the public before the election. This is clearly a lie for many reasons. The main reason is that the emails were summarily ignored by the US mainstream media as they spent all their time promoting Hillary and criticizing candidate Trump. The WikiLeaks Podesta emails were damning to Hillary but they were not shared in the public square.
However, the WikiLeaks emails being released were blamed on Russia providing the emails to WikiLeaks. In spite of Julian Assange stating that he did not receive the Podesta emails from Russians, the mainstream media says Russia was the culprit. One thing is sure, the Mueller team does not have any idea how WikiLeaks obtained the Podesta emails. To date they have never asked the Mueller team or Kim Dotcom who states he knows information about how WikiLeaks obtained the emails.
Kim Dotcom reached out to Sean Hannity to come interview him:
Hey @seanhannity I think it’s time that you come and visit me in New Zealand. Let’s talk about Seth Rich and put an end to this Mueller / Russia nonsense.
Kim Dotcom also is stating the obvious that the Mueller Witchhunt is not after the truth:
Mueller has the mandate to investigate the DNC leaks but he has never interviewed Julian Assange or myself. How is this a credible investigation without seeking the evidence from core witnesses? This probe has no credibility and is simply a political witch hunt orchestrated by HC
The Mueller Mobsters are not after the truth – they are just protecting their Deep State friends from being prosecuted for their many crimes (e.g. Hillary emails, Uranium One, Clinton Foundation, Iran scandal, Benghazi, etc…). This is not just a witchhunt – it’s the most disgusting, corrupt and criminal action in US history and it’s being perpetrated by the FBI and DOJ.

In one of what may end up being one of the defining days of his tenure in the White House, President Trump hastily cut a deal with the Democrat devils to end the government shutdown without any agreement to fund the border wall.
Only hours after Obergruppenführer Mueller dialed up a heavily armored goon squad home invasion to arrest the elderly longtime political operative Roger Stone, the POTUS hastily announced that a deal to end the 30 + day government shutdown – albeit temporarily – had been reached.
Then he went out and proceeded to present his enemies with the knife that they promptly embedded in his back.
While Democrats and the media predictably gloated, one of the most loyal of Trump’s diehard supporters saw the president’s blinking as a betrayal.
Conservative pundit Ann Coulter quickly took to her Twitter account to blast Trump who she accused of being a bigger “wimp” than former President George H.W. Bush.
Good news for George Herbert Walker Bush: As of today, he is no longer the biggest wimp ever to serve as President of the United States.
The 57-year-old who resembles a haggard, horse-faced crack ho didn’t stop there either:
Trump tweets about Roger Stone raid, "Who alerted CNN to be there?" Just think! If you were president, you could haul the FBI director’s ass into the Oval Office and ask him yourself.
Then she turned up on HBO’s “Late Night With Bill Maher” where continued to snipe at Trump and offered up the gameplan for defeating Trump in 2020.
Via Real Clear Politics, “Coulter vs. Maher: Attack Trump For Failed Border Wall Promise, “He Lied”; You’re Wasting Time With Russia”:
Conservative columnist and commentator Ann Coulter told the host of HBO’s ‘Real Time’ Bill Maher how Democrats can beat President in 2020: go after him for not keeping a campaign promise. Coulter advised Maher that if “you want to get Trump” the winning message isn’t Russia, it’s calling out his failure to deliver on a major campaign promise to build a wall on the U.S.-Mexico border.
“We’ve been lied to over and over and over by politicians, by respectable people,” Coulter said n Friday. “By people like Mitt Romney and George Bush, Obama and Clinton were going to protect your jobs. And if I can just say for a second to an audience that is not wild about me, I think this ‘build the wall’ line sounds like ‘Crooked Hillary’ or ‘lock her up.’ It isn’t that.”
“You want to get Trump? I’m telling you how to get Trump,” she said told the HBO host. “He promised something for 18 months and he lied. It’s not this Russia nonsense. You are so wasting time!”
How’s that for sleeping with the enemy?
In fairness to Coulter, there are many among the president’s base who signed up for MAGA and not this lame horseshit and unless he acts soon and in a decisive manner like declaring a national emergency to build the wall, he is at risk of hemorrhaging support at the worst possible time.
