For most normal people, there are few symbols more harmless than milk.

On its good days, it’s part of beautiful metaphors like “the milk of human kindness.” On its bad days, it’s part of fatalistic shrugs like “there’s no use crying over spilled milk.”

But for deranged American leftists being driven crazy by a world where President Donald Trump is in the White House, milk is getting positively dangerous.

Now, in fact, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals has declared that milk, cow’s milk specifically, is a white supremacist symbol and should be boycotted.

Cows’ milk has long been a symbol used by white supremacists.

That’s a recent Twitter post, but PETA actually published its discontent with cow’s milk in a blog post in March of 2017. In the group’s view, milk is a symbol of white supremacy and it is being used as a metaphor in movies (made by liberals) to emphasize that claim.

The article cited the Quentin Tarantino-directed “Inglorious Bastards” and the racial horror movie “Get Out” as examples.

“As when Christoph Waltz’s character in Inglorious Bastards drinks a glass of milk, and a character in a pivotal scene of Get Out sips the cow secretion, dairy milk has long been embraced as a symbol of white supremacy,” stated PETA.

For those who might have missed the connection between white supremacy and white milk, the idea being floated in some of the racist-fringe elements of the internet is that the ability to digest lactose in milk is a sign of European racial purity because members of human populations in much of the world lose their ability to digest milk when they reach adulthood.

A New York Times article last week about how racist groups are using — or misusing — the study of genetics explains the point:

“In most of the world, the article explains, the gene that allows for the digestion of lactose switches off after childhood. But with the arrival of the first cattle herders in Europe some 5,000 years ago, a chance mutation that left it turned on provided enough of a nutritional leg up that nearly all of those who survived eventually carried it.”

(However, The Times article notes that “a similar bit of evolution turns out to have occurred among cattle breeders in East Africa.” So the ability of adults to digest milk isn’t really limited to Caucasians.)

But activists like PETA aren’t satisfied with simply lumping milk drinkers into the ranks of white supremacy. The PETA blog post further argued that besides being linked to racism, milk consumption supports violence and “rape” against cows by the dairy industry.

“Aside from ‘lactose-tolerant’ white supremacists, cow’s milk really is the perfect drink of choice for all (even unwitting) supremacists, since the dairy industry inflicts extreme violence on other living beings. PETA is trying to wake people up to the implications of choosing this white beverage and suggesting that they choose something else pronto.

“Rape is perhaps the single most heinous crime involving both power and violence. But it’s standard procedure in the dairy industry,” the blog post stated.

Perhaps the anti-milk movement started started with this article in Metro U.K. in February of 2017 titled “Secret Nazi code kept hidden by ‘milk’ and ‘vegan agenda.’”

Metro argued that milk was an indicator of white supremacy as prominent Twitter members like alt-right leader Richard Spencer and activist-author Milo Yiannopoulos‘ former manager Tim Treadstone posted milk emojis on their bios.

“Some have even gone as far as to post things like ‘Heil Milk’ (yes, really) and ‘down with the vegan agenda’. All rather unsettling,” Metro U.K. reported.

“It’s actually quite a bit more sinister – ‘milk’ has become a symbol of perceived racial purity. And, as a natural follow-on, ‘the vegan agenda’ is believed to be code for ‘the Jewish conspiracy’ – although it could also just refer to any target the alt-right are against,” stated in Metro.

And then The Los Angeles Times jumped on the bandwagon, writing about “Get Out” in March 2017 to report the “Link Between Dairy and Hate.”

“Milk, it has been argued of late, is the new symbol of white supremacy in America, owing to its hue and the notion that lactose intolerance in certain ethnicities means that milk-absorbing Caucasian genetics are superior,” reported the Times.

While PETA is supposed to be all about protecting the rights of animals, the group has certainly have taken an even sharper left turn into the political realm, immersing itself in liberal talking points and agendas.

Unfortunately for PETA and the left, equating racism with conservatives is a tactic that the people just aren’t buying anymore. And equating drinking milk with being a racist is absurd even for a group as absurd as PETA.

It’s pretty hard for me to imagine this latest leftist lunacy gaining any steam as by now most Americans regardless of political persuasion pretty much understand the liberal desperation that has motivated a multitude of bizarre behavior.

And most of that behavior is recognized as such and has been roundly rejected by the populace.

Dairy is as American as apple pie, and apple pie is so much better a-la-mode.

This nonstop winning is getting out of hand.

More than 77,000 people have signed up to attend President Trump’s joint rally with Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz on Monday.

Just one problem: The venue where the rally is set to be held holds 18,000.

When the rally was first announced, tickets went within minutes and the demand was still so high that the rally had to be moved to a much larger venue. At first, the rally was planned for the 8,000-seat NRG Arena. But Brad Parscale, Trump’s campaign manager, said Thursday that the rally has been moved to the Toyota Center, home of the NBA’s Houston Rockets.

“Response for tickets to #MAGA rally #Houston Mon 10/22 has been HUGE and unprecedented! This will be an epic rally, so we’re moving to @ToyotaCenter. Want to make sure everyone coming knows the venue changed!” Parscale wrote on Twitter.

The Houston Chronicle reported that Houston police will be “fully mobilized” for the rally. Only those who have tickets can enter the venue and it’s first-come, first-served. “Keep in mind that once the capacity is met, you won’t get in whether you have a ticket or not,” an officer told the Chronicle.

Security will also be tight.

“We will have many many officers out and about,” Chief Art Acevedo said. “We will have officers on the high ground, low ground, in the air. We will have officers in plainclothes, we will have undercover officers, we will have react teams.”

People will likely line up overnight for the rally, Acevedo said, adding that the department expects large crowds around the Toyota Center and downtown. He advised people who work downtown to plan accordingly for delays. The event will start around 5 p.m., Acevedo said, with doors opening two to three hours before then. The department will post specific road closures Friday night or over the weekend, he said.

But police will start closing streets around the Toyota Center at 5:30 a.m., Acevedo said.

Florida isn’t typically a state given to extremities on either side of the political spectrum, hence the fact that we spend every fourth November wondering which party its 29 electoral votes will go to.

That’s why it was somewhat of a surprise that Democrats in the Sunshine State nominated Andrew Gillum, mayor of Tallahassee and a kind of Ocasio-Cortez-lite, as its candidate for this year’s gubernatorial race.

Perhaps more surprisingly is just how successful Gillum has been. Fueled in part by some media-created controversies regarding language used by his opponent, Republican Ron DeSantis, Gillum has maintained a slim 1 percentage point lead in the Real Clear Politics polling average.

Granted, that’s a statistical dead heat, but given that this is a candidate who supports “Medicare for all” even though he doesn’t seem to know that much about it, it’s a wonder he can lay claim to any sort of advantage.

That might change now that his endorsement for a “Freedom Pledge” by an anti-Israel group called Dream Defenders is becoming more widely known by voters. Far from what its name might intimate, the “Freedom Pledge” is a piece of race-baiting gobbledygook masquerading as a serious campaign issue.

“This year, as politicians vie for elected office in the Sunshine State, we — Black, immigrant and poor young people from Pensacola to the Keys — have launched our own agenda for the future of Florida. In 2018, we were killed in our classrooms and on street corners,” the pledge reads.

“We were locked inside Florida’s prisons and the keys were thrown away. We live in a state with more billionaires than almost anywhere in the country, yet, our parents and our teachers didn’t have the basic resources they needed to keep us safe.”

Well, so far, so Shaun King. However, the problem arises when you look at the “Freedom Papers” which the “Freedom Pledge” is based on.

“Police were never meant to protect and serve me and you,” the “Freedom Papers” reads. “They started as slave catchers hired by wealthy plantation owners. Businesses started the first organized police force in Boston in 1838 to protect their property and safeguard the transport of goods from the port of Boston to other places. These early business owners kept their profits by incentivizing poor white people to turn against enslaved black people and side with the rich who steal from us all.”

“Police and prisons have no place in ‘justice,’” the document continues. “Police and prisons aren’t just racist but they work to enforce the separations of rich and poor.”

Given that the “Freedom Papers” is only 20 pages long — it’s also heavy on pictures and reads like “Horton Hears an Angela Davis Speech” — it’s pretty unlikely that Gillum (or someone around him) didn’t look over this mephitic gibberish before signing on to the “Freedom Pledge.” To Jeff Bell, president of the Broward Sheriff’s Office Deputies Association, that represents a serious problem.

Bell’s union endorsed DeSantis earlier this month, according to the Tampa Bay Times. In a statement, Bell accused the Democrat of being antagonistic toward police.

“Ron has consistently stood with law enforcement and supported us in our mission to keep communities safe,” the statement said. “His opponent, Andrew Gillum, is hostile toward law enforcement.”

He echoed similar sentiments once the “Freedom Pledge” and “Freedom Papers” debacle surfaced.

“This is a blatant attack on our law enforcement community, an insult to the citizens we work to protect, and dishonors the memory of our fallen officers,” Bell wrote in a statement, according to Breitbart News.

In an appearance on Fox News on Saturday, Bell also noted that Gillum “gained radical ideas” during his time at the Rockwood Leadership Institute, a prominent progressive leadership forum.

“They try and get into lower income communities and spread the lies and the hate and create dissension between law enforcement and the public,” Bell said.

Gillum’s campaign has responded to the allegations by insisting the mayor is strong on policing.

“The mayor has been a strong ally of law enforcement in Tallahassee, investing in additional officers to help reduce crime across the city,” a statement from Gillum campaign spokeswoman Johanna Cervone read.

“As Mayor Gillum has previously said, he will not take money from the private prison industry and instead will invest in community policing, smart justice and strategies that work with communities to reduce crime and create better opportunities for all Floridians.”

Bell, instead, pointed to the high crime numbers Tallahassee has experienced under Gillum’s leadership.

“He wants to say that he works well with law enforcement, but the proof is in the numbers,” Bell said.

We’ve already chronicled that Gillum has serious issues with numbers. He doesn’t seem to understand how “Medicare for all” would be paid for, for example.

His problems go beyond mere numerical values, though. If he thought the “Freedom Pledge” and “Freedom Papers” were acceptable documents, his values are wrong for police officers and wrong for Florida.

Waving the flag of the country they’re desperate not to be sent back to, and burning tires in front of the Tegucigalpa-located embassy of the nation they’re supposedly desperate to live in, the Honduras caravan migrants, their organizers and their supporters don’t exactly come off as big fans of the United States.

And as it happened, it was led by the Guatemala-arrested-and-deported organizer of the caravan, the far-left Honduran politician and supporter of Hugo Chavez and Mel “cowboy hat” Zelaya, Bartolo Fuentes.

Nor does the caraan come across as entirely free of thugs intent on harming others: According to the Daily Mail:

Late Friday night, Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto said in an address to the nation that a large group of migrants had ‘tried to enter Mexican territory irregularly, attacking and even hurting some elements of the Federal Police.’

‘Mexico does not permit and will not permit entry into its territory in an irregular fashion, much less in a violent fashion,’ he said.

The Mail also has some vivid pictures of Honduran-flag waving would-be migrants burning flags in front of the U.S. embassy in Tegucigalpa.

It makes these caravaners rather different in kind from past immigrants to the U.S., the people who’d kiss the ground upon their arrival and who would write paeans to the golden door and the shining city on the hill.

Not these guys.

The caravan is exposing the ugly underbelly of what it’s really about — an invasion of sorts, a conquest, a bid to lay gringo low – rather than a legitimate interest in legally immigrating and assimilating into the American melting pot. The only thing such anti-American haters could possibly want in demanding to be let in, legally or not, seems to be benefits, courtesy of the U.S. taxpayer, and to stick it into law-abiding America’s faces that they’re the ones who determine what the law is, not the Americans they hate. For the criminal population among them, there’s also the bigger mayhem opportunities.

The Associated Press reports that the group has gotten into Mexico and has since swelled to 5,000.  Al Jazeera reports that “All of Honduras wants to come here.”

Obviously, the caravan and its organizing leaders are intending to be a test case for President Trump, with a the defiant message that they’ll cross the U.S. border any time they like, immigration laws be damned. They’re hoping to demonstrate such a reality with huge masses of people, who will ultimately be daring the U.S. military or border guards to fire on them, the better for their leaders to cynically claim a propaganda victory over some migrant’s dead body and to ensure that as the U.S. wraps itself in pretzels over its dreaded crimes against unarmed civilians should one of them be fired upon. They know they have allies – we can count on the pope, for one, making a rare condemnation of America in such a scenario, (don’t worry, he’ll keep ignoring Middle Eastern Christians, shortchanging Ukrainian Uniates, and betraying Chinese Catholics, as well as pretending the pervert priest crisis in the West is a matter of collective guilt, not a particular protection racket), and the congressional Democrats, too. After a brouhaha is established and the media acts as their propaganda handmaid, the border will be free.

Because they know that Trump was stopped dead in his tracks when he tried to separate families at the border to disincentivize illegal border busting, and the crying toddler photos flowed in the press. The cynical organizers of this are doing a repeat of that with the caravan, full as it is with military-aged young men, and a few toddlers strategically placed out front, knowing they can beat Trump with such a propaganda weapon, and the large numbers as well. 

So it makes perfect sense to burn tires and wave Honduran flags at the embassy of the nation they claim a “right” to live in, yet certainly do not like or even love. Nope, it’s all about power here, and Trump has got his hands full.

Less than a year before gubernatorial candidate Andrew Gillum publicly denounced President Donald Trump’s efforts to investigate the threat of voter fraud, Gillum’s brother, Marcus Gillum, voted in the 2016 general election in Tallahassee, Florida while a resident of Chicago, Illinois.

According to Florida law, you must be a legal resident in Florida to vote in elections. Casting an illegal vote in Florida is a third-degree felony.

Andrew Gillum and his brother Marcus are close. Media reports indicate they have traveled together and attended sporting events together. Also, Marcus Gillum has been caught up in the FBI investigation involving possible corruption in Tallahassee, Florida.

Leon County voting records show Marcus Gillum voted by absentee in the 2012 general election, absentee in the 2014 primary election, and early voted in the 2016 general election.

But the trouble is, months before he cast that 2016 ballot in Florida, Marcus Gillum, in an affidavit for an unrelated court case, swore under oath he was a resident of Chicago.

Also, according to records, Marcus Gillum is still currently registered to vote in Leon County at a home that his brother, gubernatorial candidate Andrew Gillum, sold over three years ago. The Leon County Property Appraiser indicates that Andrew Gillum sold 5325 St. Ives Lane on February 27th, 2015.

Furthermore, Florida Department of Motor Vehicle records show that Marcus Gillum has not had a valid Florida drivers license since 2011.

Marcus Gillum has not returned repeated calls seeking comment.

This information was presented to Leon County Supervisor of Elections Mark Earley. “Based on this information I will initiate an investigation into potential voter ineligibility,” Earley said.

Earley also added that fraudulent voting is actually very difficult to prevent.

“It could be that (ineligible voters) consider Leon County to be their place of residence,” Earley said.  “But the reality is until they notify us that it isn’t their residence, or we are notified by a different jurisdiction we have nothing to go on to remove them as an active voter.”

But voting irregularities involving Andrew Gillum’s siblings may not be confined to his brother Marcus. Voter records indicate that Monique Gillum, Andrew Gillum’s sister, voted in Florida despite questions about residency.

Monique Gillum voted absentee in the 2012 general election, absentee in 2014 primary election, early voted in the 2016 general election, and voted in the 2018 primary election.

However, like her brother Marcus, voting records also show that Monique Gillum is still currently registered to vote at the St. Ives address. However, the mailing address she provided to the Leon County Supervisor of Elections is a P.O Box in New York City.

Public records show Monique Gillum does have a current Florida drivers license with a Tallahassee address. However, the address is different from the two provided to the Leon County Supervisor of Elections.

Also, other records, including work she did as a registered lobbyist for the Southern Poverty Law Center, indicate that Monique resided in Montgomery, Alabama from 2014 to 2016.

Monique Gillum did not respond to a request for comment.

While a definitive residency could not be ascertained by publicly available records for Monique Gillum, what is clear is that Monique Gillum voted in 2016 and 2018 registered at an address that was not her residence.

According to Florida statutes, the supervisor of elections is authorized to investigate fraudulent registrations and illegal voting and to report his or her findings to the local state attorney and the Florida Elections Commission.

I’m rather waiting for the day when the cold open to “Saturday Night Live” isn’t a sketch, per se, but just a short message saying, “We’re the Democrats, and we approve this message.”

The show is so aligned with the values of the modern American left that it practically constitutes an in-kind donation to the opposition party.

It pays studious fealty to all the points you would expect: President Donald Trump is a corrupt, bumbling idiot in league with the Russians; Hillary Clinton deserved to win in 2016; conservatives are rebarbative bigots; cops are worse; and America is basically New York, Washington and California with a whole lot of flyover country, which may as well be demarcated “Here Be Dragons” by the Not Ready for Prime Time Cartographers.

But that’s not the greatest sin. All that would be forgivable if it were remotely funny. It’s not.

And unlike the zillion times that’s been said over the show’s run, this time it’s pretty much scientifically verifiable. Really, find a liberal friend and a lie detector. Have them watch an episode of this season’s ‘SNL.’ Then ask them if any of the laughs it elicited from them were genuine. Fifty bucks says those needles are going to be going up and down like a seismograph during the Loma Prieta earthquake.

If you needed further proof of the show’s drift, I present to you the sketch “Thirsty Cops,” in which two romantically desperate female Baltimore police officers pull over a driver because they think he’s a fine specimen of man:

Congratulations, Leslie Jones: You’ve now been in something demonstrably unfunnier than that “Ghostbusters” reboot.

Ironically, given the “SNL” cast and crew’s feelings regarding Kanye West as of late, they managed to work in lyrics from his “Gold Digger” without an aside about his mental health. I suppose that’s either restraint or laziness.

One can witness pretty much every element of how the writers on “Saturday Night Live” feel about the men and women of law enforcement. They’re capricious and cruel, willing to pull someone over simply for their own sexual gratification.

There were plenty of people who didn’t find it funny, particularly because it wasn’t. However, members of the Baltimore Fraternal Order of Police had special reason to take exception with this leaden sketch.

In a letter to Lorne Michaels — the longtime impresario of “SNL” — Baltimore FOP Lodge No. 3 President Lt. Gene S. Ryan objected to the “grossly inapt portrayal” of his city’s officers in the sketch.

“As you are likely aware, the Baltimore Police Department is currently a very beleaguered agency in the throes of massive amounts of criticism and disrespect,” Ryan wrote, likely referencing the death of Freddie Gray in police custody and the riots that followed.

“The Baltimore Police patches that were attached to the shirts of your cast were worn by each and every member of our agency during their careers,” he continued. “They are worn with extreme pride because, to us, they represent the best that law enforcement has to offer. They are worn by the men and women who run toward the sound of gun fire, while others run away. They are worn by the men and women who save lives and, in over 100 cases in our agency’s history, were worn by men and women who sacrificed their own lives for the safety of others.”

Ryan noted that FOP members “appreciate the fact that Saturday Night Live has long provided our nation with the opportunity to laugh, oftentimes at ourselves.” (He is possessed of a dry wit, it seems.)

However, Ryan noted that the “segment fell short of being humorous and felt, instead, like a sharp jab at a group of people who have dedicated their lives to serving others. Some may think it funny, and clearly you and your cast and crew do as well. We, on the other hand, believe that humor at the expense of our brave membership is not humor at all.”

Well, yes. It’s worth noting here that the sketch could have pretty much used any generic patch on the uniform. A Baltimore police patch wasn’t exactly a stab at realism; it was a shot at the police in an entire city.

It’s not like there are plenty of other components of “Thirsty Cops” that aren’t worth criticizing. It’s a very lazy piece of very mild vulgarity that was supposed to derive its humor from the fact that, tee-hee, police are stupid. Lovely.
