Jim Acosta to Former Trump Official: ‘F*** You’

CNN White House correspondent Jim Acosta sent an unsolicited vulgar message to a former White House staffer late Thursday night.

Justin Caporale, to whom Acosta sent the message, is a former director of operations for First Lady Melania Trump.

Caporale mocked one of Acosta’s tweets about a rally President Donald Trump attended that night in Montana. Acosta expressed concern that the music was too loud. Noting it was loud enough to disrupt journalists’ efforts to do live television spots, he wondered whether it was disrupting Secret Service and law enforcement present at the event.

In response, Caporale tweeted “Dear Diary…..”

Caporale’s comment is part of a genre of tweets mocking Acosta’s tone, content, and syntax.

Shortly after Caporale’s contribution to the meme, Acosta messaged Caporale directly on Twitter. “Fuck you,” Acosta wrote. Caporale shared a screenshot of the “exchange.”

Caporale made clear that he expected an apology from Acosta. The CNN reporter provided one around 2 a.m., claiming he mistook Caporale for an “old friend.” In a Tweet addressed “Hey buddy,” Acosta said he was “so sorry” for the message.

Acosta had also blocked his “old friend” on Twitter after the exchange.

Acosta saying “Fuck you” to the former Trump official follows months of combative exchanges between Acosta and the administration. He has repeatedly interrupted other journalists trying to ask questions, prompting denouncements of “fake news” from Trump. In another incident, press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders told reporters that a scheduled CNN interview with National Security Advisor John Bolton had been cancelled because of Acosta’s “disrespectful” behavior towards the president.

CNN promoted Acosta to chief White House correspondent in January of this year.

US Pledges $300 Million in Aid to Iraqi Christians

Programs to rebuild Iraqi Christian communities destroyed by Islamic State are being implemented with the support of $300 million from the United States. Approximately 40,000 Christians have returned home after escaping persecution at the hands of Islamic State.

The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) is working with groups such as the Knights of Columbus to increase its efforts in northern Iraq, according to International Christian Concern.

Last October, Pence told a conference hosted by nonprofit In Defense of Christians that America “will work hand in hand with faith-based groups and private organizations to help those who are persecuted for their faith.”

In June, Pence said the United States would intensify efforts to deliver aid to Iraqi Christians.

At the State Department’s first-ever Ministerial to Advance Religious Freedom in July, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced the United States would provide an additional $17 million for de-mining efforts in the Nineveh region of Iraq.

Supreme Knight Carl Anderson expressed hope “that our joint and combined efforts will bring open and concrete improvement to the situation confronting minority communities targeted by ISIS.”

Nina Shea, director of the Center for Religious Freedom at the Hudson Institute, said USAID “has been very slow in getting aid out the door, and it’s just starting to make a difference, with reconstructing schools, electricity switched on, etc., since mid-September.”

Last week, the Knights of Columbus and USAID signed a memorandum of understanding to establish a relationship among the federal government, the Knights of Columbus, and local faith and community leaders to deliver aid to religious minorities in the Middle East.

Fewer than 250,000 Christians are estimated to remain in Iraq, a decline of approximately 1 million people since 2002. Most live in the Nineveh Plains and Iraqi Kurdistan Region.

ISIS entered the plains in 2014, leading to tens of thousands of Christians fleeing. Many went to Erbil in Iraqi Kurdistan, settling in churches and parks.

Rex Tillerson, then the secretary of state, declared ISIS’s actions against Christians and other religious minorities in Iraq to be genocide in 2017.

We’re Not Battling Craziness. We’re Battling Evil.

Ever since the election of Donald Trump as president of the United States, the American left has been – as my mother likes to put it – in “rare form.”  Such “form” these last two years has resulted in obscene fits by individual leftists and, yes, liberal mobs.  Someone should ask these petulant, angry leftists – as did my mother when she encountered a tantrum (usually from a child): do you get a fever with those fits?

The answer is no, because – in spite of what many have implied as they’ve witnessed the rage, violence, and vulgarities so often employed by today’s liberals – we’re not dealing with sickness or mere lunacycrazinessstupidity, or even the deranged.  These characterizations are tempting – I’ve used them myself – and often accurate, but they fail to describe best what we are dealing with.

As Selwyn Duke alluded to recently, and others noted more directly years ago, modern liberalism – aided and abetted by the Democratic Party – is a dastardly tool of the enemy of all mankind.  It’s like a modern-day Mephistopheles luring hordes of Faustian fools with promises of worldly pleasure – especially sex – and perpetual provision from a paternalistic, godless nanny state.  Such dark pursuits consume their personal lives and thus their politics as well.  This is what results when one makes a god of government.

Speaking of “dark pursuits,” it seems that witches now outnumber Presbyterians in the U.S.  Speaking of witches, it seems the Brett Kavanaugh confirmation brought them even more into the mainstream of modern liberalism – so much so that, now that we’ve entered the Kavanaugh era of the Supreme Court, Vox saw fit to report on how modern-day witches are helping the “faithful” to cope.

Part of this coping involves placing hexes on Justice Kavanaugh.  New York City witches have an event scheduled this coming Saturday for devoted occultists.  A $10 donation is suggested for those attending.  Half of the proceeds will be split between Planned Parenthood and an LGBT organization.  Justice Kavanaugh is just the latest target of those invoking witchcraft to “magically bind” President Trump and his administration.

As Rod Dreher implies, it’s no surprise that witchcraft attracts feminazis who wish to rebel against age-old family norms and anything remotely resembling Christianity.  Thus, it’s also little surprise that witchcraft fits so nicely under the tent of modern liberalism.

It seems Arizona Democrat Kyrsten Sinema, who’s battling Colonel Martha McSally – a former fighter pilot and combat veteran – for Jeff Flake’s seat in the U.S. Senate, has long been impressed with those who invoke the “dark arts.”  As the Washington Examiner notes:

It was during the height of the Iraq War when Sinema, then a far-left protest-organizer, summoned supernatural help to stop the war.

Emails obtained by the Washington Examiner show Sinema inviting a prominent coven of feminist witches in Arizona called Pagan Cluster to celebrate International Women’s Day and to protest the war in March of 2003.  Code Pink protesters wore pink, obviously enough, and the Women in Black wore black.  But Sinema encouraged the witches to wear “colorful clothing and come ready to dance, twirl, and stay in touch with your inner creativity and with the Earth.”

Today’s liberalism isn’t merely “intrinsically uncivil,” but rather inherently evil. What else would you call a cause so devoted to killing the most innocent and helpless among us? What else would you call a cause so devoted to keeping legal the gruesome act of killing the most innocent and helpless among us that they would stoop to the disgraceful display (including witchcraft) witnessed during the Kavanaugh confirmation?

What else would you call a cause that is so devoted to the perverse LGBT agenda?  What else would you call a cause that deliberately seeks to ruin Christian business-owners because they refuse to bow to the perverse LGBT agenda?  What else would you call a cause that refuses to acknowledge who is a male and who is a female – and makes expensive and oppressive public policy based on such absurdities?

Whether a baker, a florist, a coach, a campus speaker, an insurance company, a fast food chain, a Supreme Court justice, or the president of the United States, anyone or anything who stands in the way of the wicked efforts of American liberals to remake our nation into a pagan utopia has become a target of the angry, vengeful left.  Ugly mob tactics (which are encouraged by elected Democrats) and witchcraft (which, as noted above, was embraced by wannabe-elected Democrats) are just two of the despicable means employed by those corrupted by liberalism.

We should be somewhat thankful for the mobs and the witches operating so openly.  With such clear “nastiness,” the mask further slips from what the modern Democratic Party really represents.  As Sun Tzu reveals, “in the midst of chaos, there is opportunity.”

The more subtle strategies employed by liberals are more dangerous, because they’re more effective.  The devil’s more deadly when he operates ignored and unseen for what he really is.  ”Health care is a right.”  ”Love is love.”  ”Women have the right to choose.”  ”Save the Earth!”  All of these are much more effective than hexes, ignorant chanting and clawing at heavy locked doors like mindless zombies, shouting at your political opponents in restaurants, or physically assaulting those with whom you disagree.

The recent political victories of Donald Trump and Republicans have done more than improve our economy and discourage our enemies.  By taking power from the left, they’ve helped bring darkness into the light.  As Verbal Kent put it, “the greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn’t exist.”  With today’s liberals fighting so desperately to hold on to, or regain political power, that trick is getting harder to pull off.

Red Wave Rising: Over 12,000 Voters Change Party Affiliation in Wyoming – 90% to Republican

Red Wave Rising: Over 12,000 Voters Change Party Affiliation in Wyoming – 90% to Republican

Jim Hoft
by Jim Hoft
October 19, 2018

A Red Wave Is Rising!

As we reported on Thursday early ballots show a huge increase in voting in favor of Republicans. It looks like our prediction is holding up!

On June 23, 2018, we reported that the 2018 Mid-terms would be a referendum on government corruption and because of this President Trump and the Republicans would win big. This was before Democrats made up trumped up charges against a good man – Supreme Court Judge Brett Kavanaugh.

After the Kavanaugh hearings, where Judge Kavanaugh was wrongfully accused by the Democrats of being a gang rapist, the tide changed. We made our prediction on the election and stated that a huge red wave was coming. Our mid-term prediction on October 2nd was that the Republicans would win big in the Senate and would keep the House.

Now there are some signs that the tide is turning red! Early balloting shows that Democrats are a little less than their 2016 early returns which is expected. The bigger news is that Republicans are ahead of their 2016 early ballot pace!

Wyoming has seen over 12,000 voters change party affiliation in the weeks before the 2018 primary election. 90% of the them changed their party affiliation to Republican.

County 10 reported:

The Wyoming Secretary of State’s Office today released data on the number of persons who changed their party affiliation on their voter registration in the weeks before or on the date of the 2018 Primary Election – August 21st.

12,509 persons in total changed their party affiliation between July 6th and September 20th:

6,057 Democrats changed and registered as Republicans;
4,355 Unaffiliated persons changed and registered as Republicans;
744 Unaffiliated persons changed and registered as Democrats;
477 members of the Constitution and Libertarian parties changed and registered as Republicans;
430 Republicans changed and registered as Democrats; and
296 persons of various parties changed and registered as Unaffiliated.
Of those 12,509 persons who changed their party affiliation, 701 subsequently changed their party affiliation again and re-registered back to their original 2018 party affiliation.

A person is allowed under Wyoming law to change their party registration. Party changes are entered into Wyoming’s voter registration system by county clerks and their staff. County clerks have until 30 days after an election to enter registration changes into the statewide database.

On June 23, 2018, we reported that the 2018 Mid-terms would be a referendum on government corruption and because of this President Trump and the Republicans would win big. This was before Democrats made up trumped up charges against a good man – Supreme Court Judge Brett Kavanaugh.

After promoting violence, lies and sick attacks for the past 2 years Democrats deserve to lose and lose big.

The left is embarrassing itself with ‘Betomania’

Texas Democratic Senate candidate Rep. Beto O’Rourke has become a genuine political phenomenon – at least on the far left.  He’s raised a ton of money, much of it outside of Texas, and has become the “it” boy for national Democrats.

But the debates with GOP incumbent Senator Ted Cruz have shown that behind that winning smile, the smarmy good looks, and the ability to parrot liberal talking points, there’s nothing but an empty suit.

National Review:

I’d like to further discuss the debate between O’Rourke and Ted Cruz, and also actual policy issues, and also perhaps the fact that many people in politics seem to be slowly going insane.  But first, can we talk about how embarrassing Betomania is?  Friends, I am deeply concerned for our culture.  When you look at a middle-aged establishment politician as an icon of “rock star” cool, you’re doing something wrong.

“Skateboarding Beto O’Rourke Shreds Whataburger Parking Lot,” read an actual recent headline on the website of the Dallas Morning News.  This all sounds really rad and sick and gnarly and whatever until you actually watch the video, which features O’Rourke gently coasting around the parking lot, soccer-dad style, looking precariously close to biting the dust when he gives a bystander a high five.  Don’t get mad: I’m not judging!  I would do exactly the same thing, except I’d probably actually fall!  But no wide-eyed journalist would write a headline claiming that I “shredded” anything, nor credulously act like I belonged on the cover of Thrasher magazine.

Of the countless head-scratching elements of the O’Rourke phenomenon, one wins handily as the head-scratchingest of all: A troubling percentage of the Betomaniacs I have met in Texas moved here after fleeing places ruined by Beto’s favored policies.  These locales are often expensive, increasingly dysfunctional, wildly overregulated, sometimes mystifyingly poop-ridden despite being wildly overregulated (here’s looking at you, San Francisco!), and inevitably run by Democrats.  Why does no one seem to make this connection?  I don’t know! One hero in Austin has taken to posting stickers around town featuring an image of a giant locust, paired with the following text: “I MIGRATED TO A THRIVING TEXAS FROM A LEFTIST [NIGHTMARE] AND NOW I’M VOTING FOR BETO FOR SENATE.”

O’Rourke, like another empty-suit leftist politician named Barack Obama, invites voters to impress upon him their own hopes and dreams, fashioning him into whatever they want in their leader.

“Beto O’Rourke Matters Even If He Loses,” a headline at Bloomberg recently declared. O’Rourke “defies gravity,” argued The Ringer. Comparisons to Barack Obama flow freely, and the presidential speculation grows. “Will Beto O’Rourke Become President?” asked a column at Texas Monthly back in August. “It might help if he loses to Ted Cruz.”

Stay tuned, America.  We live in interesting times.  Anything can happen!  And Betomaniacs, if O’Rourke does indeed lose, don’t fret: He’ll undoubtedly be back and BETO than ever!

The latest polls have Cruz up comfortably by 7-9 points.  It turns out that O’Rourke is more popular among national Democrats than he is among Texas voters.  This is not surprising given that O’Rourke’s far-left agenda scares most sane people.  And I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a certain amount of resentment among Texans that “Betomania” has become a national thing.

Texans are not so easily fooled.

CARAVAN CHAOS: Honduran Migrants Face Off With Mexican Police – Pueblo Sin Fronteras Organizer Arrested (VIDEO)

CARAVAN CHAOS: Honduran Migrants Face Off With Mexican Police – Pueblo Sin Fronteras Organizer Arrested (VIDEO)

October 19, 2018

Members of the caravan of thousands of Honduran migrants reached the Guatemala-Mexico border Thursday.

The bulk of the caravan reached the Mexican border late Thursday and hundreds of Mexican police were waiting and ready.

Chaos erupted as the Honduran caravan faced off with Mexican police on the border town of Tecun Uman.

The organizer of Pueblo Sin Fronteras, Irineo Mujica was arrested by Mexican police and thrown into a white van.

The Daily Mail reported:

A smaller group walked to the border crossing but was blocked by Guatemalan police. They eventually retreated to await the rest of the caravan. The migrants, many who started traveling in small groups up to eight weeks ago, are covering around 30 miles a day.

Irineo Mujica, the director of the organisation Pueblo Sin Fronteras, who was detained at a march in Ciudad Hidalgo, southern Mexico when he led a caravan of hundreds of migrants towards the US border last spring has been arrested Thursday.

Mujica’s organisation shared the following statement on Facebook: ‘He was arrested along with three migrants by about 20 [immigration] agents and about 15 federal police as they marched toward a church as part of a welcome march for the Caminata del Migrante.’

Mexican immigration officials claimed that Mujica, who has dual U.S. and Mexican citizenship, attacked immigration agents and local and federal police after he was asked for his identification during the protest.

The immigration agency added that he was detained by authorities for resisting and damaging property.

Video of Irineo Mujica being arrested:

On Thursday, President Trump issued a blunt warning to Mexico and other Central American nations over their failure to stop illegal migrants and criminal cartels targeting the U.S. southern border, saying he would send the military and shut down the southern border.

Mexico responded by sending hundreds of federal police to the Guatemala-Mexico border.

The Associate Press reported Friday at 12:45 PM ET that the migrants in the caravan turned back after moving toward border crossing on Mexico-Guatemala frontier.

This story is still developing…please check back for updates.

Trump Admin Merges Jerusalem Consulate Into U.S. Embassy in Blow to Palestinians

The Times of Israel reports: The State Department announced Thursday that it would bring its main diplomatic mission to the Palestinians under the auspices of the US Embassy to Israel in Jerusalem, marking an implicit downgrading of the facility’s status and a fresh blow to its already strained ties with the Palestinians.

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said the move was meant to “achieve significant efficiencies and increase our effectiveness” following the opening of the embassy in May. He insisted the merger of the two missions did not signal a change in US policy on the status of Jerusalem, the West Bank, or Gaza Strip.

“The United States continues to take no position on final status issues, including boundaries or borders,” Pompeo said in a statement. “The specific boundaries of Israeli sovereignty in Jerusalem are subject to final status negotiations between the parties.”

Texas Democrats Encouraged Noncitizens to Vote with ‘Altered’ Registration Forms, Says Complaint

The Texas Democratic Party sent voter registration applications to noncitizens in the Rio Grande Valley region of South Texas, urging recipients to cast ballots in the November midterm election. These mailers allegedly arrived with the U.S. citizenship box pre-checked, potentially creating false claims to voter eligibility, according to a complaint filed Thursday.

The Public Interest Legal Foundation (PILF), a national election integrity law firm, alerted district attorneys in the affected Starr and Hidalgo Counties about the “altered” mailers in which the U.S. citizenship box purportedly came pre-filled as “yes.” The Foundation also apprised Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, the Texas Secretary of State, and the U.S. Department of Justice about the situation.

In total, three questions on the voter registration form raised concerns. The first two, “Are you a United States citizen?” and “Will you be 18 years of age on or before election day?” came pre-printed and marked “X” in the corresponding “yes” box. A third question, “What type of application?” displayed “X” for “new application.” The rest of the form remained blank.

The complaint showed it came from the Texas Democratic Party and included the voter registration form and a return envelope. The mailer insisted recipients “complete, sign, and return” the applications before the October 9 voter registration deadline.

“We notice that there is a USPS change of address on file but your voter registration is still in your former address,” read the materials. It advised recipients unsure if they were registered to “Mail IMMEDIATELY to be registered to vote in the November 2018 election!”

According to PILF, noncitizens received the mailers in late September and early October.

A sworn affidavit by U.S. citizen and former Starr County Volunteer Registrar David Kifuri, Jr., accompanied the complaint. Kifuri came into contact with PILF on October 3 after relatives, who are legal permanent residents but ineligible to vote, received these mailers.

“Noncitizens usually register to vote at the prompting of another party — usually a DMV clerk,” said PILF President and General Counsel J. Christian Adams.

The documents sent to Texas and federal officials explained why pre-printed answers about voting eligibility are problematic, citing the National Voter Registration Act (NVRA) of 1993, also known as the “motor voter” law:

[W]hen Congress passed the NVRA, it envisioned a registrant making two separate affirmations of citizenship — both the checkbox as well as the signature attestation. This enables prosecutors to easier establish intent and state of mind when noncitizens illegally register to vote.

PILF urged state and federal officials who received the complaint to “investigate if and how many returned applications” arrived in local county election office(s) in Starr and Hidalgo Counties.

“We are raising awareness to how the Texas Democrat Party — unintentionally or otherwise — is offering voter registration to noncitizens. Without some form of official intervention, confused noncitizens rather than the Texas Dems will end up paying the consequences of this matter,” stated Adams.

Late Thursday, Texas Governor Gregg Abbott responded to news of this complaint over social media, saying the matter was being investigated. “If true, there will be serious consequences,” said Abbott.

This week, Rio Grande Valley resident Maria Armstrong told KRGV she received one of these mailers from the Texas Democratic Party. Armstrong, a U.S. citizen, said she already registered to vote and worried the misleading mailer could undermine the legitimacy and integrity of her vote. She said: “I want my vote to count.”

Sam Taylor, spokesman for the Texas Secretary of State said their office “has received a large volume of calls from concerned Texans in recent weeks indicating that they received voter registration application forms from the Texas Democratic Party in the mail addressed to deceased relatives and individuals who are not U.S. citizens.”

Taylor noted: “In some cases, the deceased passed away more than 10 years ago.”

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton pledged to assist Starr County District Attorney Omar Escobar in his “fight against voter fraud” which included allegations of noncitizen voting earlier this year. Similarly, Paxton’s office supported Hidalgo County DA Ricardo Rodriguez, opening a probe into alleged voter fraud activities that stemmed back to a 2017 municipal election.

Starr and Hidalgo are two of 13 Texas counties that have more registered voters than eligible residents, says PILF. In March, the Foundation filed a lawsuit against Harris County for allegedly failing to disclose noncitizen registered voters as required by NVRA. Since then, Paxton urged a state court judge to facilitate PILF’s request in a separate lawsuit. The watchdog group also put Bexar County on federal notice for failing to disclose noncitizen voter registration records, though the foundation tells Breitbart News that local officials later cured the matter by releasing the information thereafter.

In Texas, illegal voting is a second degree felony punishable by two to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000. In September, a Mexican national received 10 years in jail after pleading guilty to voter fraud charges including ineligible voting in Montgomery County. Last year, a Mexican national and legal permanent U.S. resident got an eight year prison sentence for falsely claiming U.S. citizenship in Dallas County where she voted as a Republican at least five times. Deportation proceedings can follow.

Texas Democratic Party Executive Director Manny Garcia responded to inquiries about the pre-filled voter applications sent to individuals in the Rio Grande Valley. He told KRGV, in part, they sent applications to “a large number of people who may have moved to Texas, changed their or a loved one’s address, or are members of Texas’ diverse and rising electorate.”

GOP Women’s Group Attacking Trump Funded Solely by Male Democratic Donor

A new Republican women’s group who is “fed up with Trump” and pouring cash into toss-up congressional districts is bankrolled solely by a male billionaire venture capitalist who is a major donor to Democratic campaigns and causes, Federal Election Commission filings show.

Republican Women for Progress, a Washington, D.C.-based “grassroots” nonprofit, was founded by Jennifer Pierotti Lim and Meghan Milloy and is comprised of “right-leaning” women who are opposed to President Donald Trump. The group has garnered glowing national media profiles that include a ten-minute segment on CBS News and articles in publications such as Glamour, Slate, and others.

The group is so far active in competitive congressional districts in New Jersey, Kentucky, and Michigan.

“We think the best thing that we can do for the party and for the country right now is to make sure there are good women—Democrat or Republican—that are elected to office and who can serve as a check on this administration and on the president,” Milloy told the Detroit Metro Times. “[This effort] really was inspired by us talking to Republican women in these districts where they said there was just no way that they could vote for the Republican.”

The group established a political action committee, the Republican Women for Progress PAC, on Sept. 13 to support their work for the midterms and has since spent $231,000 on independent expenditures for voter recruitment and advertisement productions in the toss-up districts in three states.

The PAC disbursed $76,000 on ads and recruitment in support of Mikie Sherrill in New Jersey’s 11th congressional district, $78,000 backing Amy McGrath in Kentucky’s 6th congressional district, and $77,000 on Elissa Slotkin in Michigan’s 8th congressional district.

The PAC’s October quarterly filing—the first from the group—also shows that the group of Republican women is bankrolled by just one donor: Reid Hoffman, a venture capitalist and co-founder of LinkedIn, who is a major donor to Democrats. Hoffman cut a $400,000 to the PAC on Sept. 27, its filings show.

Hoffman has pushed millions into the coffers of Democratic committees and campaigns this cycle.

Hoffman provided $3 million to the House Majority PAC, a PAC closely affiliated with House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.) that is focused on electing and keeping Democrats in the House of Representatives; $2 million to the Senate Majority PAC, a PAC dedicated to electing and preserving Democrats in the Senate; and $1 million to Forward Majority Action, a group launched by former Obama alumni.

Hoffman also sent a maxed contribution to the Democratic National Committee and pushed cash to the campaigns of Democratic Sens. Sherrod Brown (Ohio), Tim Kaine (Va.), Joe Manchin (W.Va.), Bob Casey (Pa.), Bob Menendez (N.J.), Heidi Heitkamp (N.D.), Claire McCaskill (Mo.), Phil Bredesen (Tenn.), and Tammy Baldwin (Wis.) among others.

The venture capitalist additionally sent money to a number of Democratic candidates for the House of Representatives and the Massachusetts Republican Party.

The co-founders of Republican Women for Progress previously led Republican Women for Hillary during the 2016 elections. That group was featured on Full Frontal with Samantha Bee, Yahoo News, Wall Street Journal, the Hill, U.S News and World Report, and the New York Times.

Republican Women for Progress did not respond to a request for comment on their sole donor being a male and major contributor to Democrats.

Texas Democrats asking non-citizens to vote

The Public Interest Legal Foundation has alerted the Justice Department to a gambit by Texas Democrats to get non-citizens to vote.

The state party sent out a voter registration form asking non-citizens to sign up, with the citizenship box already checked “yes.”

Washington Times:

The Public Interest Legal Foundation alerted district attorneys and the federal Justice Department to the pre-checked applications, and also included a signed affidavit from a man who said some of his relatives, who aren’t citizens, received the mailing.

“This is how the Texas Democratic Party is inviting foreign influence in an election in a federal election cycle,” said Logan Churchwell, spokesman for the PILF, a group that’s made its mark policing states’ voter registration practices.

The Texas secretary of state’s office said it, too, had gotten complaints both from immigrants [sic] and from relatives of dead people who said they got mailings asking them to register.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott vowed to investigate.

“If true there will be serious consequences,” he said.

This is an open invitation for voter fraud on a large scale, and the way the Democrats went about it defies belief:

The applications were pre-addressed to elections officials, which is likely what left many voters to believe they were receiving an official communication from the state.

But the return address was from the State Democratic Executive Committee, and listed an address in Austin that matches the state Democratic Party’s headquarters.

The letter is emblazoned with “Urgent!  Your voter registration deadline is October 9.”  It continues: “Your voter registration application is inside.  Complete, sign and return it today!”

On the application, boxes affirming the applicant is both 18 and a U.S. citizen are already checked with an “X” in the Yes field.

The mailing also urges those who are unsure if they’re registered to “Mail it in.”

Dead people were also being asked to vote.

Sam Taylor, spokesman for Texas’s secretary of state, said they heard from people whose relatives were receiving mail despite having passed away 10 years ago or longer.  One woman said her child, who’d been dead 19 years, got a mailing asking to register.

“It looks like a case of really bad information they are using to send out these mailers,” Mr. Taylor said.

Mr. Taylor is being very charitable.  I doubt very much whether it’s “bad information” being used by Democrats.

How many other state Democratic Parties send out similar requests to non-citizens and haven’t been caught?  Are we to believe that one party in one state came up with this idea all on its own?  Perhaps, but not likely.

Many liberals believe that anyone in the United States – citizen or non-citizen – should be able to vote.  If they want to make that argument and change the law to make it happen, they are more than welcome to try.  Of course, if they run on that issue, they will get slaughtered at the polls.  So instead of going to the American people and working to change the law, they try an underhanded dirty trick to achieve the same goal.

Someone should go to jail for this ruse.
