Gianforte Lends Daines His Plane to Fly Back From Wedding to Kavanaugh Vote

Sen. Steve Daines (R., Mont.) says he will be able to make the Senate vote on Supreme Court Brett Kavanaugh on Saturday despite plans to walk his daughter down the aisle at her wedding in Montana thanks to Rep. Greg Gianforte (R., Mont.) lending him use of his personal plane.

"My good friend and colleague, Greg Gianforte, has come to save the day," Daines told reporters. "If I need to be in two places at once to walk my daughter down the aisle on her wedding day and to be the final vote to put Judge Kavanaugh on the Supreme Court, he’s offered me use of his plane."

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R., Ky.) has scheduled the full Senate vote on Kavanaugh’s confirmation for Saturday evening, and Daines is a confirmed yes vote for the nominee.

"Just cast my vote for Judge Kavanaugh getting him one step closer onto #SCOTUS," Daines tweeted after the procedural vote on Friday morning. "We spoke last night, and I assured him, I will be back to vote YES this weekend if needed. Looking forward to calling Judge Kavanaugh, Justice Kavanaugh."

Following allegations of sexual misconduct by three women levied at Kavanaugh in the previous month, several Senators have been considered swing votes, including Sen. Susan Collins (R., Maine) and Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R., Alaska). Murkowski voted against Kavanaugh during the Friday procedural vote. Collins said on Friday afternoon that she would be voting for the nominee.

McConnell said on Friday that he was "optimistic" about Kavanaugh’s confirmation.

"We’re heading toward a final vote tomorrow, and I’m optimistic," McConnell told NBC News.

Creepy Porn Star Lawyer Michael Avenatti Has Epic Twitter Meltdown, Attacks Susan Collins and Reporters Over Kavanaugh

Creepy Porn Star Lawyer Michael Avenatti Has Epic Twitter Meltdown, Attacks Susan Collins and Reporters Over Kavanaugh

by Kristinn Taylor
October 5, 2018

Michael Avenatti, the anti-Trump lawyer for porn star Stormy Daniels and Kavanaugh ‘gang rape’ accuser Julie Swetnick who is considering a run for the 2020 Democrat presidential nomination, had a meltdown on Twitter right after Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME) singled out Swetnick’s incredulous allegations and followed by announcing at the end of a 45-minute Senate floor speech she would vote in favor of the nomination of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court.

Avenatti went on a Twitter storm, including several he deleted, ranting against Collins and then attacking reporters.

“. is channeling Donald Trump. Entirely disingenuous and shameful. Where was she when Judge Garland could not even get an up or down vote? This is all about her post-office job opportunities on K street. We shall never forget. Not in Nov. Not in 2020. Not ever…. should be ashamed of herself for attacking my client and Dr. Ford. How did she make a credibility determination as to my client? How is she qualified to do that without ANY investigation? She did ZERO to determine whether my client and her witnesses were credible”

Avenatti unleashed on Rachel Bade, who pointed out that Democrats did not want Avenatti getting involved in the Kavanaugh nomination battle.

“THIS is why Democrats did NOT want Michael Avenatti to get involved in this fight. Collins is specifically citing Swetnick’s “gang rape” accusation as something that made her think she needed to give Kavanaugh the benefit of the doubt.”

Avenatti deleted his first reply to Bade, but not before it was documented.

“Complete garbage. How many times did she discredit Dr. Ford at the same time she bogusly “defends” her. And you blaming my client from coming forward is outrageous and scares other women into remaining silent. If you think my client was the reason for the “yes” you are naive.”

https://twitter.com/MichaelAvenatti/status/1048300379094601728

Avenatti posted a replacement tweet to Bade, attacking her and NY Times reporter Maggie Haberman, “Exactly. I should have turned my back on my client. Told her to “shut up” and stay quiet because people like and apparently believe assault victims are to blame. This line of thinking is disgusting and offensive to all survivors.”

A clearry unbalanced Avenatti attacked more reporters in tweets, and then deleting. He initially replied to CNN’s Kyle Feldsher, “So you are staying that I should have turned my back on my client. Told her to “shut up” and stay quiet because people like you apparently believe assault victims are to blame. This line of thinking is disgusting and offensive to all survivors.”

https://twitter.com/MichaelAvenatti/status/1048306101744259073

Avenatti replaced the deleted tweet to Feldsher, writing, “You are right. I should have turned my back on my client. Told her to “shut up” and stay quiet because people like you apparently believe assault victims are to blame. This line of thinking is disgusting and offensive to all survivors. And it makes lawyers not want to help them.”

Austin, Texas Bans Restaurants From Throwing Away Food

Will a vegan restaurant donate to a pig farmer?

Via Fox News:

A Texas city has banned restaurants from throwing away food and its receiving mixed reviews online.

Austin announced the new city ordinance Monday, requiring restaurants and food-permitted businesses to find alternative methods to discarding organic material other than throwing it away.

“The [Universal Recycling Ordinance] URO requires convenient access for employees to divert discarded organic material, such as food scraps or soiled paper products, from landfills. Options include donating extra food to feed people (preferred), sending food scraps to local animal farms or ranches, developing customized solutions and composting, either on-site or with a private organic collection provider,” the ordinance read.

In addition to requiring restaurants to dispose of food through recycling or donation, the establishments must also provide education for employees about organic diversion.

“The City is committed to helping companies, large and small, find cost-effective solutions and establish diversion programs to ensure food and other organics are put to best use while meeting ordinance requirements,” said Sam Angoori, Interim Director, Austin Resource Recovery.

Ortiz: America Hits Best Unemployment Rate in 49 Years Thanks to Tax Cuts

Alfred Ortiz writes for The Hill about the myriad positive effects of economic growth on working Americans and concludes that beneficiaries therefrom should have a clear choice at the ballot box in November:

The September jobs report released today shows a continuation of the booming labor market, with the unemployment rate falling to the 49 year low of 3.7 percent. Average weekly wages rose at an impressive 3.4 percent over last year. These are the pocketbook issues that actually make a difference in the lives of voters.

If Republicans can make the case to voters that their policies are largely responsible for this increased pay and improved job prospects, they can maintain control of Congress on Election Day.

So far this year, the average number of jobs created each month is 16 percent higher than last year. This suggests that the tax cuts that took effect this year are boosting job opportunities. This is the sixth straight month the unemployment rate has been at or below four percent, also the best in a half century. Black and Hispanic unemployment rates continue to hover near record lows.

Commentary: Christine Blasey Ford’s latest stunt sinks any credibility she had left

There were many people who walked away from watching Christine Blasey Ford’s testimony thinking she was a Democratic operative working to delay the confirmation of Judge Brett Kavanaugh. I was not one of those people. I believed her pain was real. I believed that she was sexually assaulted by someone in her younger years — I just did not believe that it was, in fact, Brett Kavanaugh, for various reasons. But the antics of Ford and her lawyers Wednesday at the 11th hour (sound familiar?) of the FBI investigation have me now convinced I was dead wrong.
In Ford’s opening statement to the Senate Judiciary Committee on Sept. 27, she stated:

My motivation in coming forward was to be helpful and to provide facts about how Mr. Kavanaugh’s actions have damaged my life so that you could take into a serious consideration as you make your decision about how to proceed. It is not my responsibility to determine whether Mr. Kavanaugh deserves to sit on the Supreme Court. My responsibility is to tell you the truth.

But on Wednesday, Ford’s attorneys declared they would not comply with Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley’s request to deliver to the FBI documents that would — according to them — only bolster the credibility of Ford’s testimony. Her legal team told Grassley they would withhold Ford’s therapist notes and audio recording of Ford’s lie detector test unless and until the FBI agreed to interview Ford as part of its investigation.
Well, wait a minute. If her motivation in coming forward was purely to "provide facts" and "tell the truth" and the requested documents would help the FBI corroborate her testimony, why would she withhold the information?
She already gave her sworn testimony of the account — under penalty of perjury — in front of Senate members and all of America. To assert that her account to the FBI would be different from her sworn testimony would be asserting she committed perjury. If her testimony was true, the FBI didn’t need to interview her, which her attorneys most certainly knew.
Still, I didn’t want to believe that Ford, a well-respected member of academia, would knowingly destroy a man’s life over false allegations, so my initial reaction was to blame her attorneys. Maybe they were keeping information from her in an attempt to use her as a political pawn. After all, Ford seemed genuinely confused when she was told during the hearing that members of the Senate committee offered to come to her, due to her supposed fear of flying. In the same way, maybe her attorneys didn’t tell her they were attempting to strong-arm and delay the FBI investigation by withholding documents, I thought.
But that can’t possibly be the case in 2018 America. Unless Ford has been locked up in solitary confinement with no access to any media and no contact with the outside world, there’s no way she didn’t know Senate members offered to come to her for testimony, and there’s no way she didn’t know Grassley asked for documents that would corroborate her story to be included in the FBI investigation. So, the only reasonable conclusion is that she was involved in the decision to withhold the documents from the FBI.
If she was, in fact, a survivor of sexual assault at the hands of Brett Kavanaugh, and her true intention was to "provide facts and truth," as she stated in her sworn testimony, she would have delivered to the FBI both the recording of her lie detector test, along with notes from her therapist that would have allegedly corroborated her story.
Either way, Ford’s collusion in this latest political stunt is a disgrace to all sexual assault survivors who do have the courage to come forward and speak out.

Susan Collins Offers Methodical, Independent Defense of Brett Kavanaugh

Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME) delivered a dramatic, passionate, yet methodical defense of Judge Brett Kavanaugh on the Senate floor on Friday afternoon, as she explained her reasons she would vote to confirm his Supreme Court appointment Saturday.

Collins kept her decision a mystery until the last moment. Though she had voted Friday morning for cloture, moving the nomination to a final vote, she had not committed to supporting Kavanaugh, and announced that she would make her choice known in a floor speech at 3:00 p.m. ET. Protesters filled the halls, and occupied her office; they chanted from the gallery as she prepared to speak. Many still held out hope that she would vote no and put the nomination one vote from defeat.

Instead, Collins walked through one argument against Kavanaugh after another. She left the personal accusations against Kavanaugh to the end, and prioritized his views on legal precedent and the political independence of the judiciary. She knocked down the claims that he would cancel Obamacare’s insurance provisions, or that he would repeal Roe v. Wade, or that he would favor President Donald Trump in the event that the president’s own conduct came before the Supreme Court.

She then turned to the allegations made by Christine Blasey Ford and other accusers, defending the presumption of innocence and laying out the reasons that the charges were not convincing enough to keep Kavanaugh from the highest court — including the fact that none of Ford’s witnesses corroborated her claims. In the only angry portion of her speech, she attacked whoever leaked Ford’s original letter to the media, saying that action “has turned this process into such a dysfunctional Senate.”

Collins did not mention her recent public spats with the president over his comments about Ford’s testimony. She simply focused on the issues, and on the Constitution, concluding: “Mr. President, I will vote to confirm Judge Kavanaugh.”

Mob Rule Comes to America

Since President Trump’s election, we have been bombarded nearly daily by mobs of “Resisters” seeking to overturn the last election through verbal and physical assaults against supporters of President Trump.  The assaults have been waged not only against the everyday men and women who voted for our president, but against Republican legislators and conservatives in theaters; in restaurants; at sporting events (where Congressman Steve Scalia nearly lost his life); and, as we recently observed, in the very chambers of government.  Taking their cue from “Auntie Maxine” (Maxine Waters), who has urged her supporters to harass, hound, and confront their opponents wherever Republicans can be found, it is time for Republicans and conservatives to address and confront the descent into mob rule.

Senator Jeff Flake’s confrontation in an elevator by two George Soros-funded hysterical women with cameras set up to film their shameful assault achieved exactly the impact the perpetrators desired.  Anna Marie Archilla of the Soros-funded Center for Popular Democracy held the elevator door open while twenty-five-year-old Marie Gallagher hysterically screamed at the senator.  Shortly thereafter, Flake returned to the Senate floor and called for the postponement of a vote on Judge Kavanaugh’s confirmation on an allegation that had no merit.  Triumphant Democratic Senate Judiciary members could be seen gleefully congratulating each other and exchanging high fives.  What the left understands and Republicans have not learned is that shame and fear, when employed as tactics, work.

While mob rule and street justice have been evident throughout the Third World, we in America prided ourselves on a judicial system of law and order.  We were a country of laws and not of men.  As multiculturalism within the last few decades became a celebrated ideology, a demographic shift caused by third-world immigrants and aliens began to uproot our cultural heritage rooted in Western civilization.  Saul Alinsky’s Marxist playbook encouraged the left to take to the streets in the name of social justice, and suddenly, the left had new arrivals whose political framework was derived and shaped in countries without the rule of law.

For the last few decades, we have witnessed them taking to the streets to demand equality and racial and social justice throughout cities such as Los Angeles, New York, and Baltimore along with violent rallies at Berkeley and dozens of college campuses.  Since the election of President Trump, whom they view as illegitimate, they have united together under what they term “The Resistance” to destroy not only the president, but his agenda and all who support him.  Whether it be immigration, executive orders, foreign policy, our economy, or judicial nominations, they block his every move to prevent him from governing.

For the first time in history, we have a populace who will not abide by the results of our election process, and its effort to obstruct and destroy is damaging the fabric of our society and the foundation on which this country rests.  We have a lawful process in place to address the will of the people, and currently we see the Democrats destroying the institutions we have relied on since our founding to carry out the will of the people.  Whether it is the unlawful plots at the FBI and the Justice Department to frame an innocent President Trump, the weaponization of the IRS to silence conservatives, or the theater of the absurd at the confirmation hearings for Judge Kavanaugh, the left’s dirty tactics are now a threat to our liberty and democracy.  There is not an institution that has not been impacted.  Many of us are asking what institutions we can still trust and rely on.

Since the left has not been able to advance its agenda at the ballot box, its followers rely on activist judges in black robes to advance their radical agenda.  It was a process that worked well for them under Clinton and Obama, but now, without Congress or the Executive Branch and with the possible loss of the Supreme Court, they see their grasp on power slipping away, and they have become unhinged.  They have openly stated they will stop at nothing in their effort to remove a duly elected president.  In an effort to  hang on to power, they are now employing mob rule and character assassination in the halls of Congress, as we witnessed during last week’s congressional hearing.

Character assassination is a ploy often used by Democrats in the past, as we saw with the attacks on Justice Clarence Thomas and Judge Robert Bork.  Now that they are desperate to hang on to power, it is being used against a judicial nominee whom they could not discredit in the vetting process and one who claims he has had no contact with the alleged victim.  There should be hell to pay for those who destroy a man’s life and family with unsubstantiated, meritless allegations in their quest for political power.  Who among good men will want to run for office knowing that a leftist Democratic hit squad is lying in wait?  The damage to our judiciary by the Democrats is enormous.

Thus, it is not enough to denounce the thugs.  George Soros, the billionaire funding the assaults and attacks, must be brought to justice for not only inciting violence, not to mention investigated for sedition, a crime we need to begin to take seriously.  He and his minions are obstructing the agenda we voted on and one we won.  It is imperative that Republicans in office begin to use the term “sedition” in public.

Those who plot the overthrow of the United States as a constitutional republic for a one-world order, as Soros has openly advocated, can no longer be ignored.  He and his marching minions must be prosecuted for funding a war waged against our republic, and let it be a warning that we will no longer sit idly by as we watch our country destroyed from within.

During November’s midterm elections, we can elect new leaders who will stand up for the rule of law and vote out those whose actions support the left.  Let it be a litmus test for those running for office.  If they refuse to restore the rule of law, they don’t deserve our vote.  It is past high time for conservatives and Republicans to fight back.  There was only one valorous senator fighting for Judge Kavanaugh.  We need many more Lindsey Grahams if we are to remain a country of laws; otherwise, we will descend into a country of mob rule.  The choice is ours!
