CNN’s Don Lemon Defends Antifa: ‘No Organization Is Perfect’

CNN host Don Lemon defended militant group Antifa on Tuesday, acknowledging its violent past while saying “no organization is perfect.”

Lemon’s comments came during a discussion on his primetime show about the group’s clashes with neo-Nazis in Charlottesville, Virginia last year, The Hill reports.

“It says it right in the name: Antifa, anti-fascism, which was what they were there fighting,” Lemon said. “Listen, no organization is perfect. There was some violence. No one condones violence, but there were different reasons for Antifa and for these neo-Nazis to be there. One, racists, fascists, the other group, fighting racist fascists. There is a distinction there.”

The discussion arose after it was reported President Donald Trump warned evangelical leaders during a closed door meeting Monday that Republican midterm loses could lead Democrats to “overturn everything that we’ve done and they will do it quickly and violently.”

“There’s violence. When you look at Antifa and you look at some of these groups — these are violent people,” Trump said, according to an audiotape of his remarks provided to the New York Times by an event attendee.

The same night on Wolf Blitzer’s “The Situation Room,” CNN chief legal analyst Jeffery Toobin called Trump’s criticism of Antifa an “appeal to racism.”

“Let’s be clear also about what’s going on here, the theme here is ‘I’m Donald Trump and I’ll protect you from the scary black people,'” Toobin said in a clip flagged by the Daily Wire. ” Antifa is widely perceived as an African-American organization and this is just part of the same story of LeBron James and Don Lemon and Maxine Waters and the NFL players and the UCLA basketball players.”

While many Antifa supporters dress in all black, it is unclear where Toobin derived his assessment that the group is “widely perceived as an African-American organization.” Antifa has been responsible for numerous incidents of violence over the past month alone. A couple weeks ago, members of Antifa who were counter-protesting a far-right rally in Washington, D.C. threw eggs and water bottles, and shot fireworks at police and some journalists.

Earlier this month, an Antifa protest in Berkeley resulted in members of the group smashing the windows of a Marine Corps recruiting office. The person who recorded the incident said several Antifa members warned him, “Get the f— back. Cops aren’t here. They won’t help you.”

The FBI and Department of Homeland Security began warning state and local authorities in early 2016 that Antifa was becoming increasingly violent and referred to its members as “anarchist extremists.”

During the final year of the Obama administration, DHS classified the group’s activities as “domestic terrorist violence.”

Title IX Complaint Filed Against Feminist Professor Who Tells Women to ‘Hate Men’

An editorial by a feminist professor at Northeastern University that advocates it is okay for women to hate men "#BecausePatriarchy" has now led to a Title IX complaint.

The National Coalition for Men filed a complaint with the Department of Education against Suzanna Danuta Walters, the head of Northeastern’s Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Department, Campus Reform reported.

"Despite numerous requests, Northeastern neglected to conduct an internal Title IX investigation against [Walters]," according to the paper. "Walters later doubled-down on her remarks. In an interview with the Chronicle of Higher Education, she clarified that she ‘doesn’t hate men in some generic way,’ but insisted that it makes sense for women to have ‘legitimate rage’ against men."

Walters reiterated that it "makes sense for women to have legitimate rage" against a "group of people that has systematically abused them"—meaning men.

Campus Reform reported a professor at the University of Michigan-Flint called for Northeastern to investigate, but the school declined to respond.

"How could a male student ever expect fair, just, and equitable treatment from Professor Walters?" asked UM-Flint professor Mark Perry.

The National Coalition for Men has since filed a Title IX complaint, arguing Walters’ op-ed is evidence of an "overall hostile effect against male participants" at Northeastern’s Women’s Studies department.

"Suzanne Walters is the chair of their Women Studies program, not some random schmuck," Harry Crouch, the president of the National Coalition for Men, told Campus Reform. "Her openly hateful behavior is reprehensible, disgusting, and irresponsible. She should not be allowed to promote her misandry in an educational institution with impressionable minds."

The Washington Post published Walters’s "hate men" editorial in June.

The editorial began with Walters explaining she has been "pushed over the edge" by "mansplaining" and asked, "Why can’t we hate men?" in the wake of sexual misconduct by Democrats Eric Schneiderman and Harvey Weinstein.

"It’s not that Eric Schneiderman (the now-former New York attorney general accused of abuse by multiple women) pushed me over the edge," Walters began. "My edge has been crossed for a long time, before President Trump, before Harvey Weinstein, before ‘mansplaining’ and ‘incels.’"

"Seen in this indisputably true context, it seems logical to hate men," she says. "I can’t lie, I’ve always had a soft spot for the radical feminist smackdown, for naming the problem in no uncertain terms. I’ve rankled at the ‘but we don’t hate men’ protestations of generations of would-be feminists and found the ‘men are not the problem, this system is’ obfuscation too precious by half."

Walters goes on to say that criticism of blanket condemnation of men is "mostly" correct.

"These critics rightly insist on an analysis of male power as institutional, not narrowly personal or individual or biologically based in male bodies," she says. "Growing movements to challenge a masculinity built on domination and violence and to engage boys and men in feminism are both gratifying and necessary. Please continue."

Walters, however, returned to her diatribe against men, arguing women have "every right to hate" men "#BecausePatriarchy."

She concludes with a demand that no man run for political office or "be in charge of anything":

So, in this moment, here in the land of legislatively legitimated toxic masculinity, is it really so illogical to hate men? For all the power of #MeToo and #TimesUp and the women’s marches, only a relatively few men have been called to task, and I’ve yet to see a mass wave of prosecutions or even serious recognition of wrongdoing. On the contrary, cries of ‘witch hunt’ and the plotted resurrection of celebrity offenders came quick on the heels of the outcry over endemic sexual harassment and violence. But we’re not supposed to hate them because . . . #NotAllMen. I love Michelle Obama as much as the next woman, but when they have gone low for all of human history, maybe it’s time for us to go all Thelma and Louise and Foxy Brown on their collective butts.

[…]

So men, if you really are #WithUs and would like us to not hate you for all the millennia of woe you have produced and benefited from, start with this: Lean out so we can actually just stand up without being beaten down. Pledge to vote for feminist women only. Don’t run for office. Don’t be in charge of anything. Step away from the power. We got this. And please know that your crocodile tears won’t be wiped away by us anymore. We have every right to hate you. You have done us wrong. #BecausePatriarchy. It is long past time to play hard for Team Feminism. And win.

Cuomo Suspended Investigation Shortly After Receiving Donation From Former Weinstein Lawyer’s Firm

BY:

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D.) froze a probe into the prosecutor’s handling of the Harvey Weinstein case shortly after receiving a donation from a lawyer once connected to Weinstein.

Weinstein fell from grace in 2017 after dozens of women came forward and alleged they had been raped or sexually harassed by the Hollywood mogul. In one case, New York police secretly recorded Weinstein admitting he groped a woman without her consent and had done the same to other women, but he was never prosecuted.

The Manhattan district attorney who declined to bring charges, Cyrus Vance, Jr., later received a $10,000 donation from Weinstein’s attorney David Boies. In March, Cuomo asked the New York attorney general’s office to investigate Vance’s handling of the Weinstein case.

In June, however, Cuomo sent a letter to the attorney general’s office asking them to suspend the probe for six months. In a statement made after the freeze came to light Tuesday, Cuomo’s office said they wanted to “avoid any interference with the District Attorney’s ongoing prosecution of Harvey Weinstein. We remain committed to conducting a comprehensive, fair, and independent review.”

But Capital & Main reports that in parallel to Vance, the decision to shut down the probe came less than a week after Cuomo’s reelection campaign received $25,000 from Boies’ law firm, Boies, Schiller & Flexner.

A spokesman for the law firm pointed out that Boies, who no longer represents Weinstein, has a long history of donating to Cuomo. “Neither Mr. Boies, nor anyone from his firm, ever discussed Harvey Weinstein or Mr. Vance with Mr. Cuomo, or anyone from his office, at any time,” the firm told Capital & Main in a statement.

Donald Trump Says Facebook and Twitter Bias Has Personally Affected Him

President Donald Trump continued criticism of Facebook, Google, and Twitter’s effort to weaken conservative and Republican voices on their platforms on Wednesday, citing his personal experience.

“I think they treat conservatives and Republicans very unfairly. I could tell you that I have personal experience,” Trump said. “I had a lot of people on the various platforms.”

The president questioned his social media director Dan Scavino about his number of followers who informed him that he had about 160 million across the various social platforms. But Trump indicated that he noticed that some of the numbers were disappearing.

“I can tell you when things are different, all of a sudden you lose people, and you say ‘where did they go?’ they’re taken off,” Trump said.

In June, a recent Twitter purge of accounts

lowered

Trump’s follower count by hundreds of thousands.

The president commented on the issue at the White House during an event with reporters and signaled interest in upcoming Congressional hearings scheduled with social media executives.

“I think it’s a very serious problem, because they’re really trying to silence a very large part of this country,” he said. “It’s not right, it’s not fair it may not be legal, but we’ll see. We just want fairness.”

Trump downplayed the suggestion that he was prepared to support regulation of the companies.

“You know what we want? We don’t want regulation, we want fairness,” he said.

California eliminated cash bail. What could possibly go wrong?

The Golden State continues its push to be the most woke of all the woke states in the land this month. Governor Jerry Brown has signed into law a measure which will eliminate bail for suspects awaiting trial. It’s not quite as bad as it sounds, because this doesn’t mean that everyone will be released as soon as they’re arraigned and simply be trusted to return for trial. The judge will be left with the discretion to determine who is or isn’t a flight risk or danger to the community. Those who are can be kept in jail while awaiting trial and everyone else will be released on their own recognizance. Believe it or not, there are a few things about this decision which I’m actually sympathetic with, but overall it’s still nearly as bad as it sounds. (The Hill)

California will become the first state to eliminate bail for suspects awaiting trial under legislation signed into law Tuesday by Gov. Jerry Brown (D).

The measure, which takes effect Oct. 1, 2019, eliminates the payment of money as condition for release and gives judges more power in determining who remains incarcerated ahead of trial.

“Today, California reforms its bail system so that rich and poor alike are treated fairly,” Brown said in a statement Tuesday.

Under the new law, people who are arrested will be subject to a “pretrial risk assessment” to determine whether they can be released. The assessment also will determine whether the defendant presents a “low,” “medium” or “high” risk to the public.

I always like to start on a positive note when possible so allow me to sympathize with some of the problems they’re trying to address in California. The bail system is a mess and most people who work in the field agree with that. The idea of bail was supposed to be a system which kept truly dangerous people behind bars while awaiting trial and allowed others to leave while providing a serious incentive for them to come back. In other words, the bail amount such be a significantly painful pinch that they wouldn’t be willing to forfeit the money. Unfortunately, the introduction of bail bond services combined with the greed of fallible human beings has warped it into something else in too many cases.

Some people who have no resources at all to pay bail either wind up stuck in a cell on relatively minor charges or set loose with a bond they could never hope to pay back, perhaps disappearing. At the other end of the scale, there are white-collar crime cases where the suspects are vastly wealthy and no amount of bail is too high of a bar for them. Yes, there are problems with the system.

But at the same time, repeat offenders who already have bench warrants aren’t likely to improve their behavior and start showing up for trial over the fear of violating a court order. It’s the same as the fact that gun laws don’t prevent people from illegally purchasing guns if they are already willing to commit gun crimes. It’s just human nature and common sense.

Also, this new system is removing all bail guidelines and dumping the full responsibility of “guessing” whether the accused is dangerous or a flight risk on the judge. Consider the judge who decided to grant bail in that New Mexico compound case where an extremist was teaching children to shoot up schools. Not all judges are created equal and we do need guidelines to keep the worst of them in check.

The bail system may indeed be flawed, but at least in some cases, it slows down the serious flight risks and those who are dangers to the community. (Criminals out on bail commit more crimes than you would probably guess.) This move is going to open the door to further problems without solving the underlying issues in the bail bond system.

VOX: Just Uncaging Fake Animals On A Cracker Box Isn’t Enough. You Must Dismantle Capitalism.

Last week, we brought you the charming story of how People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals "freed" the animals bound in metal cages on the front cover of the "animal crackers" box. The absolutely, worthless victory was hailed as a "step forward" for the animal rights movement, even though children who consume animal crackers are still, technically, eating animals.

DISGUSTING! Liberal Hacks at ‘The Hill’ Completely Lie About DeSantis Quote to Smear Him as Racist

DISGUSTING! Liberal Hacks at ‘The Hill’ Completely Lie About DeSantis Quote to Smear Him as Racist

On Tuesday night popular Republican Representative Ron DeSantis won handily in the Florida GOP gubernatorial primary.

Following his big win Rep. DeSantis, a strong Trump supporter, told his supporters,

“The last thing we need to do is to monkey this up by trying to embrace a socialist agenda with huge tax increases and bankrupting the state. That is not gonna work. That’s not gonna be good for Florida.”

So how did The Hill report on this DeSantis quote?

They completely lied about it.
The Hill: DeSatntis: Florida voters shouldn’t “monkey this up” by voting for black candidate

This is the dishonesty the American people must deal with on a daily basis coming from the mainstream Fake News media.

DeSantis is running against Bernie-endorsed Socialist Andrew Gillum who is pushing a 40% corporate tax in the state of Florida.

WAYNE ALLYN ROOT: Guess Who Just Paid For Wall? Mexico!

WAYNE ALLYN ROOT: Guess Who Just Paid For Wall? Mexico!

By Wayne Allyn Root

Guess what? President Trump just won- again. Trump just made the impossible, possible- again. Trump just made Mexico pay for the wall. More on that in a moment.

But first, I must report on “the biggest loser.” That would be New York Governor Andrew Cuomo. He reported “America was never great.”

Well I’m here to report that America is the greatest country in world history. And I know why. Because we’re blessed by God. I know it’s not politically correct to say that. But like President Trump, I only report the raw truth.

It’s so sad that liberals don’t believe, or understand the greatness of America. Because great things come to those who believe. I’m a SOB- son of a butcher. Guess who just joined my hit national television show? Bill O’Reilly.

Bill was the unchallenged “King of Cable TV News” for a remarkable 16 consecutive years. Now Bill O’Reilly has decided to make his comeback on my “Wayne Allyn Root Show” on Newsmax TV. What an honor. There is no other country in the world where this could happen to a butcher’s kid.

Only in America.

But that’s not my only honor to report. This butcher’s son has also been chosen by the publishing division of Newsmax TV to write the book about the one-in-a-billion business and political success of President Donald Trump. The last four books published by Newsmax have all been New York Times bestsellers. My book “The Trump Rules” is the next in line.

Only in America.

Now to the latest great news about President Trump. I was the only newspaper columnist in America who predicted that Trump’s approval ratings would go up in the face of guilty verdicts and pleas by his associates Paul Manifort and Michael Cohen. Sure enough, as if on cue, the new Wall Street Journal/NBC poll is out. Trump is at or near his all-time record high.

But that’s not the only thing hitting record highs.

*Consumer confidence is now the highest in 18 years- since October of 2000.

*Corporate profits are hitting records. The stock market was up over 250 points on Monday. Most every stock index hit record highs.

*The Atlanta Fed now predicts booming 4.6% economic growth in the 3rd quarter. That’s after Wednesday’s upward revision of 2nd quarter GDP to 4.2%.

*And at global online gaming sites, more people are betting on Trump’s re-election victory than all his opponents combined.

That was all before President Trump announced a United States-Mexico trade agreement. Because Trump talked tough and never gave in, US workers will benefit. US carmakers will benefit. US manufacturers will benefit. US taxpayers will benefit. Trump did it. He won. We all won. Trump announced he will terminate NAFTA.

While we don’t know all the details yet, I guarantee this new trade deal will save us tens of billions, perhaps hundreds of billions of dollars over the next decade. Since the wall with Mexico costs about $25 billion, Trump just forced Mexico (whether they know it, or not) to pay for the wall. Once again, Trump accomplished what establishment politicians of both parties said could never be done.

But with Donald J. Trump there are no such words as “never” or “impossible.” Trump has chutzpah. Trump has cajones. Trump aims for the moon. Trump is combative and aggressive. Trump is driven to do what others say cannot be done. Trump is an eternal optimist. He accepts nothing less #WINNING. I call those traits “The Trump Rules.” He proves they work every day!

You can bet he’s gotten Mexico to pay for the wall- his #1 promise of the election. You can bet we will now begin building the wall. Just as I knew his popularity would go up after the terrible week of guilty pleas and nonstop media assaults last week.

Writing a book on the remarkable, one-in-a-billion “Trump Rules of Success” is easy. The book just keeps writing itself. Every week comes a new victory none of Trump’s critics ever believed possible. Trump just keeps writing the book for me!

Thank you, Mr. President. You really are THE GREATEST!

Alabama Dept. of Ed. deems 8 recess and gym activities inappropriate to avoid hurt feelings and more

The Alabama Department of Education has deemed eight beloved childhood recess and gym activities as inappropriate.

A guidance document, created two years ago, resurfaced on Tuesday when it was posted on Facebook by the Auburn University at Montgomery Physical Education Program.

The document went viral before the Facebook group pulled the post, and the Alabama State Department of Education subsequently removed the document from its website.

According to AL.com, much of the document still remains in the Alabama Physical Education Instructional Guide.

As per the original document, the DOE considers the following eight activities inappropriate for safety, exclusionary, and alienating purposes:

Steal the Bacon

According to the Alabama Department of Education, Steal the Bacon is a “sideline game in which two opposing players come out to the center of the court and compete against each other in front of the entire class.”

This is apparently problematic because it has the “potential for [student] embarrassment.” The DOE says the game “easily qualifies as terrible.”

You can watch a video of how Steal the Bacon works below.

Relay races

The document noted that relay races are essentially useless, as “successes are generally ignored, but failures are fodder for continuing ridicule at least through dismissal at the end of the day.” The advisory against relay races paints kids as trolls with eyes peeled for trips, falls, or failures.

Musical chairs

Musical chairs is also a big no-no, because basically the same person wins the entire time, everyone else feels completely alienated, and all of the castoffs sit around twiddling their thumbs and “spinning mindlessly in circles” on the floor until the winner earns his or her bragging rights.

Kickball

Kickball is also apparently bad, because even though kids are fairly competent enough to organize the game without the teachers holding their hands through the process, there’s a “major potential for embarrassment” if the kicker misses the ball.

Giants, Elves, and Wizards (AKA Crows and Cranes)

The Department of Education doesn’t seem to even know what this game is, and wrote, “participation time is at a bare minimum, the rules take forever to explain, and even then, students are still confused.”

The game, according to the document, “usually ends when two students crash heads together.”

You can watch a video of how this game works below.

Duck, Duck, Goose

Educators apparently believe “Duck, Duck, Goose” is a useless game because it’s loud, and apparently not much of a physical activity outside exercising kids’ vocal chords.

The document read, “Everyone else [besides the ‘goose’ and ‘duck’] just sits and screams at ear-shattering pitch and decibel levels.”

Dodgeball

The DOE’s documentation on dodgeball is cut and dry, and even penned in red ink, which apparently means a very serious business.

About dodgeball, the DOE said, “There are no standards in the Alabama Course of Study: Physical Education for any grade that supports/justifies this activity (variation or any other name) where a student or students are targets of thrown objects.”

None. No objects. Not even half-inflated balls that make embarrassing noises when they strike a child rather than actually injure them.

Yoga

Forget useless — yoga has been outright illegal to teach in Alabama schools since 1993 because of Hindu religion connotations and mind-altering consciousnesses.

Yoga, however, made the list and is simply just flat-out prohibited.

You can read the list in its entirety here, and find more discouraged activities here.

Has there been any official response to the resurfaced document?

On Wednesday, Eric Mackey — Alabama’s state superintendent of schools — addressed the document controversy.

“It is completely up to you which games you play. There is no directive about which games you can and cannot play,” Mackey said in a statement. “Go back, tell your principals to take care of their own P.E. problems, please.”

He said the controversial document “was a document developed some years ago. … It was last updated about six superintendents ago. It got re-released this week.”
