Self-proclaimed socialist Cynthia Nixon — running for governor in New York state — gave herself a six-figure tax deduction, despite campaigning on a platform to hike the taxes of fellow wealthy New Yorkers.

Last week, Nixon — who famously starred as Mirando Hobbs on the hit HBO show Sex and The City — released five years of tax returns, revealing that she has earned more than $1 million every year since 2013.

Nixon, though, has sought to pay the smallest amount in taxes possible. For example, in 2016, according to CBS New York, Nixon reduced her gross income by claiming more than $318,000 worth in tax deductions. This gave Nixon a six-figure tax deduction.

In 2016, Nixon deducted more than $12,000 worth of “personal development” and “singing and acting lessons,” $15,000 for hair and makeup, more than $5,500 for telephone and internet, more than $3,300 for travel, and more than $11,000 in office expenses.

Nixon — a staunch supporter of abolishing what she calls the “terrorist organization” ICE — also saved a bundle when left-wing New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio gave her wife a job at the Department of Education under the title of “Senior Adviser for Community Partnerships.” Nixon’s wife, Christine Marinoni, received a starting salary of $121,200 in 2014 and it eventually grew to $129,876 when she left the position this year to campaign with Nixon.

Before Marinoni went to work for de Blasio, Nixon had been paying her six figures to work as her business partner.

In an editorial by the New York Post, the editors note Nixon’s “tax hypocrisy,” calling out the actress for pushing a “million tax” on couple’s earning $300,000 or more in the state to fund a public school program that will cost the state $7.4 billion.

The homeless veteran who is back under a bridge just months after a couple raised $400,000 for him is suing the couple for reportedly keeping his money.

Johnny Bobbitt, who made headlines last Thanksgiving for offering New Jersey resident Kate McClure his last $20 when her vehicle ran out of gas in a rough Philadelphia neighborhood, is suing McClure and her boyfriend for allegedly spending what remains of a $400,000 GoFundMe account the couple created for his benefit, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported.

The story started out as a heartwarming tale where McClure, 28, and her boyfriend, Mark D’Amico, 39, started a GoFundMe campaign for $10,000 to help Bobbitt get through the winter as a thank you for his kind gesture. The campaign went so viral that it surpassed its $10,000 goal to raise more than $400,000.

But the story did not have such a happy ending after plans to disperse the money went downhill, and Bobbitt wound up living on the streets once again.

McClure and D’Amico claim they spent half the money on housing and miscellaneous expenses for Bobbitt, who is living back under an overpass and panhandling. The couple said they are withholding the rest of the money until he is off drugs.

But a lawsuit Bobbitt’s attorney filed on his behalf on Tuesday claims the couple mismanaged the money.

The suit alleges the couple committed fraud and conspiracy by depositing “substantial portions of the money raised” into their personal bank accounts instead of allowing Bobbitt to use the money to get off the streets.

“The defendants have expended more than half of the monies raised, and they continue to deprive [Bobbitt] access to the funds that were raised for him,” according to the suit filed by Bobbitt’s lawyers from the firm Cozen O’Connor in Philadelphia.

Christopher C. Fallon, one of the attorneys representing Bobbitt, said Bobbitt’s legal team filed the lawsuit after D’Amico ignored several requests to provide full documentation of how the money in the GoFundMe account was spent.

“He’s really left us with no choice but to go forward,” Fallon said.

The couple, appearing on NBC News’ Megyn Kelly Today on Monday, denied they had been pocketing the funds meant for Bobbitt, saying they wanted to protect the interests of Bobbitt and the 14,000 donors who contributed to the fundraiser.

The couple claimed Bobbitt blew through $25,000 in less than two weeks.

“Write what you want,” D’Amico told the Philadelphia Inquirer. “Giving him all that money, it’s never going to happen. I’ll burn it in front of him,” he added.

A judge is expected to hear the case on Thursday.

MONTERREY, Nuevo Leon — Mexican authorities arrested a leading Gulf Cartel commander tied to several local kidnappings and gun battles.

Recently, Nuevo Leon state authorities arrested Hector Adrian Lucio Benavides aka “La Yegua” or “the Mare” along with his assistant, Christian Aaron “El Chalan” Hernandez Cabriales. Lucio Benavides is described by authorities as a key Gulf Cartel operator. The arrest was carried out by members of Nuevo Leon’s State Investigations Agency (AEI) with the help of federal police in the Cumbres Elite neighborhood in Monterrey. The case is part of an ongoing joint investigation including federal authorities, Nuevo Leon’s AEI, and the Tamaulipas Attorney General’s Office. 

According to public statements made by the head of Mexico’s National Security Renato Heredia Sales, La Yegua is considered a leading figure for the Gulf Cartel in the theft of fuel, extortion, and kidnapping in Nuevo Leon, Tamaulipas, San Luis Potosi, and Veracruz. La Yegua’s assistant is described as being in charge of the logistics for kidnappings and the movement of drugs to the border. After the arrest, La Yegua was moved to Tampico, Tamaulipas, where he remains at the state prison on kidnapping charges. 

As Breitbart Texas reported, La Yegua was linked to a failed kidnapping in the Guadalupe suburb of Monterrey, which escalated into a large-scale gun battle. La Yegua sent a team of approximately 15 men to kidnap a businessman believed tied to organized crime as he was eating at a restaurant. The grab failed when the gunmen opened fire on passing police, triggering a call for official backup. After a full-scale shootout, state police managed to arrest 13 of the cartel men–but a judge later released them.

Yuma Sector Border Patrol agents continue to disrupt drug and human smuggling efforts at immigration checkpoints on highways leading away from the Mexican border.

On Monday, agents assigned to the Blythe and Wellington Stations scuttled the drug and human smuggling plans of two separate efforts. The agents arrested two human smugglers, a drug runner, and seized more than a $500,000 in opioids and narcotics.

Blythe Station agents observed a 2002 Mercury Milan approaching for an inspection. A Border Patrol K-9 agent alerted to the possible presence of drugs or human cargo, according to Yuma Sector Border Patrol officials. The agents referred the driver of the Milan to a secondary inspection station.

During a search of the vehicle, agents found 96 packages they suspected were filled with drugs. Testing revealed the packages contained more than 120 pounds of methamphetamine and heroin, officials stated. Border Patrol officials estimated the value of the seized drugs to be in excess of $525,000. Officials identified the driver/alleged smuggler as a 38-year-old Mexican national who resides in the U.S. with green card status.

A few hours later, Welton Station agents observed a 2016 Honda Accord approaching a checkpoint. The agents referred the driver to a secondary inspection station following an initial interview. Further questioning revealed the three rear-seat passengers were Mexican nationals with no legal status in the U.S. The agents arrested the Mexican nationals for immigration violations.

Agents learned the 35-year-old driver and the 36-year-old front-seat passenger are both U.S. citizens from Sacramento and San Bernadino, California, respectively. The agents placed both under arrest for human smuggling and alien harboring. A search of the vehicle also revealed about 14.5 grams of methamphetamine inside the car. Officials seized the car and the drugs.

Facebook is expanding its Watch video platform, which currently funds news shows from CNN’s Anderson Cooper and far-left outlet Mic, at the same time that Mark Zuckerberg’s social media powerhouse continues to crack down on conservatives.

“Over the past year, we funded a number of original shows for Watch, and many have found strong, engaged audiences. Our funding strategy has always been about kick-starting an ecosystem of content,” declared Facebook. “We will continue investing in some original shows, and we will really lean into supporting a wide range of amazing video content from creators and publishers around the world to help our partners find success with their videos.”

In June, the company revealed they would be fully-funding original video content from CNN’s Anderson Cooper, far-left news outlet Mic, ABC News, and anti-Trump news anchor Jorge Ramos —whose daughter worked on Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential election campaign.

“Earlier this year we made a commitment to show news that is trustworthy, informative, and local on Facebook. As a part of that commitment, we are creating a dedicated section within Watch for news shows produced exclusively for Facebook by news publishers,” declared the platform’s Head of Global News Partnerships, Campbell Brown, in June. “With this effort, we are testing a destination for high quality and timely news content on the platform.”

Facebook is doubling down on fully-funded video programming as it faces criticism from President Donald Trump about its censorship of conservatives. The platform recently marked a wide range of articles from Breitbart News and the New York Post as “spam,” which the company later called a “bug.” Conservative employees have united to protest what they call the “intolerant” liberal culture of the company.

Facebook Watch rolls out globally on Thursday. The site’s users will have a personalized Watch feed, which will include programming created by pages and creators they already follow, along with Facebook’s fully-funded content inevitably added as suggested viewing.

The Silicon Valley giant is also enabling content creators to monetize their videos by including ads. Similar to YouTube, Facebook will enable ad breaks before videos play and “mid-roll,” or during the video itself. Video ads are immediately available the U.S., U.K., and select other countries, and will expand elsewhere next month.

Google CEO Sundar Pichai has refused to testify before the Senate Intelligence Committee in September.

Google CEO Sundar Pichai refused to testify at the Senate Intelligence Committee hearing, which is set to include Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg, and the company instead offered to send Senior Vice President for Global Affairs, Kent Walker, who was dismissed as not being “sufficiently high up in the company,” according to Fortune.

Despite this, Sen. Richard Burr (R-NC) claimed he will not subpoena Pichai, declaring, “I don’t normally subpoena people to be part of the solution… Google chooses not to participate and being part of the solution. That’s a decision they made.”

Pichai was criticized by both Republican and Democrat senators for refusing to testify, with Sen. Mark Warner (D-VA) calling the move a “great mistake.”

“This is the United States Senate, this is an important issue, and we deserve to hear from the decision-makers, not the people who carry out the decisions,” added Sen. Angus King (I-ME).

The Senate hearing may have included tough questions for Pichai about his company’s decision not to work with the Pentagon on drone technology, but still create a censored search app to please the Chinese government.

This week, President Trump warned Google, along with other Big Tech companies.

“I think what Google and what others are doing – if you look at what is going on with Twitter and if you look at what’s going on in Facebook, they better be careful because you can’t do that to people… You can’t do it,” expressed President Trump, adding that they face the “serious charge” of mass-coordinated censorship and political manipulation.

“I think that Google and Twitter and Facebook, they are really treading on very, very troubled territory and they have to be careful,” he continued. “It is not fair to large portions of the population.”

Trump also criticized Google Search’s overwhelmingly biased news results, which prioritized content from CNN and excluded major conservative news outlets.
