Watch: Chris Pratt at Teen Choice Awards: ‘I Love God and You Should Too’

Actor Chris Pratt worked his Christian faith into his acceptance speech at the “Teen Choice Awards” Sunday night, urging his young audience to “love God.”

Pratt, who frequently uses his celebrity to witness to his faith, told his hearers that Christianity is his “thing.”

“I’m so thrilled to be here, I have not been a teen for quite some time,” said the popular star of Jurassic World and Guardians of the Galaxy as he took to stage Sunday. “This means a lot to me.”

“I want to thank God,” he shouted. “I always do that when I’m up on a platform in front of a bunch of young faces.”

“I love God, that’s my thing, I love him! And you should too!”

Less than two months ago, Pratt offered a similar testimony while accepting the Generation Award at the MTV Movie and TV Awards, telling his millennial viewers that “God is real,” that they have a soul, and they have to take care of it.

“God is real. God loves you. God wants the best for you. Believe that. I do,” Pratt said to a sustained round of applause.

Not long after, he added, “Learn to pray. It’s easy and it’s so good for your soul.”

Using a curious metaphor, Pratt told young people that when giving a dog medicine, “put the medicine in a little piece of hamburger and they won’t even know they’re eating medicine.”

It seemed like a description of his own formula for evangelizing the young: give some spiritual message, but wrap it up in some humor and people will accept it more easily. So far, his formula seems to be working.

Vox: Say, these Antifa people are rather badly behaved toward the police

Vox is confused by the actions of Antifa this weekend. The site was all over the Unite the Right 2 rally and one piece, in particular, concludes Antifa seem to be behaving rather badly, even by their own low standards. Naturally, this comes as a bit of a shock:

Sunday’s counterprotests against the white nationalist “Unite the Right 2” rally in Washington, DC, were largely peaceful. Thousands of people held multiple rallies across the city to celebrate diversity and push back against the hateful views the white nationalists espouse.

But a few left-wing “antifa” (short for “anti-fascist”) counterprotesters did engage in violence, throwing eggs and water bottles and shooting fireworks at police officers and some journalists who were covering the demonstrations.

The story highlights some of the Antifa violence in Charlottesville and in Washington, DC, which Jazz covered already. Vox does point out that Antifa has been violent before, including last August in Berkeley, but that violence was justified at the time (by Antifa) as necessary to de-platform white nationalists and prevent their message from spreading.

But as Vox itself reports, the Unite the Right 2 rally was a “pathetic failure.” No one showed up and the handful who did left early. Antifa could have packed it in and gone home too but instead, they went after an alternative target: the police. This turn is confusing to Vox:

This weekend in Charlottesville and DC, though, it wasn’t neo-Nazis and white supremacists the antifa attacked. It was police who were there to help keep the peace among all the demonstrators and journalists who were there to cover the events.

How that factors into antifa’s ideology is anyone’s guess.

It’s a mystery!

Let me see if I can offer a little help here. Antifa are pro-violence and wear masks to avoid being identified by police. So, yes, they don’t care for the police in general.

But it goes beyond that. The far left in this country hates the police and always has. Six years ago when Occupy Wall Street was a thing, one of the most consistent features of the protests was the constant antipathy for cops. Here’s a reminder from Portland:

Remember this from Ferguson protests a few years ago?

Remember this Black Lives Matter chant:

How about this one from 2014?

I’m not even scratching the surface here. “Hands up, don’t shoot” was based on the idea that Mike Brown was surrendering when he was murdered by a white police officer. Chants like “Pigs in a blanket…” and “Cops and Klan go hand in hand” have been used at plenty of other far left marches and rallies.

Last month I wrote about Occupy ICE protesters in Portland who got angry when federal cops stepped in to clear out part of their protest. The far left protesters started directing streams of racist abuse at the black officers on the scene. Just last week, Antifa went after Candace Owens and when police stepped in, the mob started berating them instead.

The real question is this: Why is this remotely a surprise to Vox? Of course the far left hates the police. That should be obvious to anyone paying attention. The far left has a long history, going back to the 1960s, of thinking its moral superiority puts it above the law. Since police don’t usually buy into that, they become the enemy as traitors to the cause. This is nothing new but it’s nice to see that Vox is finally catching on.

Fired FBI Hack PETER STRZOK Creates Twitter Account and GoFundMe Page — TRASHES TRUMP

Former FBI Special Agent Peter Strzok was fired on Friday for violating bureau policies; his lawyer confirmed the firing Monday morning.

Shortly after the news of Strzok’s firing hit the public, the former FBI agent fired off a tweet from a newly created Twitter account linking to a GoFundMe page begging for $150,000.

Jennifer Kay, a spokeswoman for Strzok’s attorney, confirmed the authenticity of the Twitter account, reported the Daily Caller.

At the time of this publication, over $26,000 has already been raised for the disgraced former FBI agent.

Peter Strzok tweeted: “Deeply saddened by this decision. It has been an honor to serve my country and work with the fine men and women of the FBI.”

Screenshot of GoFundMe with a caption that reads, “Support for FBI Veteran Pete Strzok”

Aitan Goelman, Peter Strzok’s attorney, blasted the FBI after his client was forced out at the FBI.

Peter Strzok and his lover FBI lawyer Lisa Page sent each other thousands of text messages which was discovered by Inspector General Horowitz.

In what is believed to be one of the most damning text exchange between the FBI lovebirds was a discussion about an “insurance policy” to keep Trump out of office.

“I want to believe the path you threw out for consideration in Andy’s office…that there’s no way [Trump] gets elected…but I’m afraid we can’t take that risk,” Strzok text messaged to Page in an Aug. 15, 2016 exchange, referring to Andrew McCabe.

“It’s like an insurance policy in the unlikely event you die before you’re 40,” Strzok added.

President Trump immediately came out swinging against Peter Strzok for handling Hillary’s sham email investigation with kid gloves.

Peter Strzok’s Twitter account was created August 3rd, 2018 and at the time of this publication, only one tweet has been posted.

Strzok has however, ‘liked’ 14 tweets, including tweets from Rosie O’Donnell and other Trump-hating pundits.

One of the tweets Peter Strzok ‘liked’ was from American actor Mark Hamill attacking President Trump as an “illegitimate president,” with a Russian flag emoji to insinuate Trump is a puppet of the Russian government. (screenshot below)

Mark Hamill tweeted: As complicit treason-weasels in #GOP continue to demagogue our justice system for “another victory notch in Putin’s belt & another milestone in our enemies’ campaign to tear America apart”-the UK welcomes our illegitimate “President”?? to their country.??

Peter Strzok CLEARLY hates President Trump and his anti-Trump text messages along with several tweets he ‘liked’ are further proof of his bias.

Texas Restaurant Draws Fire for Serving Sessions

A Texas restaurant’s decision to serve Attorney General Jeff Sessions, while the latter was in Houston to address law enforcement officials, has triggered rebuke and harassment from critics of the president’s administration.

The attorney general was in Texas last week to outline strategies for combating gang violence, cross-border crime, and illegal immigration with federal prosecutors and law enforcement officials. As part of his trip, Sessions dined at El Tiempo Cantina, a Houston area Tex-Mex restaurant, Friday evening.

Shortly after the attorney general’s visit, the restaurant posted a photo on Facebook of Sessions alongside Roland Laurenzo, El Tiempo Cantina’s owner, stating the establishment was "honor[ed]" to have had a member of President Donald Trump’s cabinet as one of its customers.

"We had the honor to server[sic] Mr. Jeff Sessions, Attorney General of the United States," the restaurant wrote. "Thank you for allowing us to serve you."

El Tiempo Cantina’s post quickly triggered rebuke from local residents and progressives on social media opposed to the Trump administration’s policies on immigration.

One local resident, Gilma Aguirre, expressed to ABC affiliate KTRK-TV that she viewed El Tiempo Cantina’s decision to serve Sessions as an insult to the "community" that "supports" and is employed by the restaurant.

"I felt like it was a slap to the community that supports the restaurant and that backs up the restaurant and that works for the restaurant," Aguirre said.

Within hours of Sessions’ visit, the hashtag "BoycottElTiempo" was making waves throughout Twitter as progressives urged residents to shun the restaurant. Some even went to the added extent of urging those upset with the restaurant to share their "thoughts on El Tiempo’s Facebook page."

The social media campaign against the restaurant has left an impact, according to reports, as numerous employees, including Laurenzo, have been subject to death threats and harassing behavior.

In order to stymie the partisan furor, El Tiempo Cantina removed the photo of Laurenzo and Sessions, stating the post was made by the restaurant’s social media without the approval of management. After removing the photo, the restaurant issued an official apology, asserting it did not agree with the political stances of the president.

The apology, however, proved insufficient in ending the controversy. As of Sunday, El Tiempo Cantina had made the decision to deactivate all of its social media accounts.

Laurenzo asserted the decision to go dark resulted from an unwillingness to deal with the insults being hurled in "such a dramatic fashion."

"People are insulting us in such a dramatic fashion, and we feel like we don’t deserve it," the owner said. "At least temporarily I had it taken down because I don’t want to be insulted, my children to be insulted, my family to be insulted."

This is not the first instance that a restaurant visit by a member of the president’s cabinet has drawn controversy and consternation from the left.

Earlier this year, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders and her family were denied service at the Red Hen, a Lexington, Virginia restaurant. Sanders was asked to leave by the Red Hen’s owner on the basis that she worked for an "inhumane and unethical" president.

In the days prior to the incident at the Red Hen, two other Trump administration officials were accosted while attempting to dine at Washington, D.C. establishments.

In June, Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen was angrily confronted while eating dinner by 15 protesters from the Metro D.C. chapter of  Democratic Socialists of America. The secretary left the restaurant in response to the harassment and repeated shouts of "shame." Similarly, White House senior advisor Stephen Miller was accosted with shouts of "fascist" while dining at a Mexican restaurant.

Neither Sessions nor the Department of Justice has commented on the situation that has embroiled El Tiempo Cantina.

Self-Absorbed Ocasio-Cortez Gives Speech, Walks Off Ignoring Host She Was to Intro

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has some very big fans, but few if any are quite as fanatical as Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez herself.

The newly minted nominee for New York’s 14th Congressional District managed to defeat a powerful incumbent, strike an important blow for democratic socialism and the proletariat, and turned “I am not the expert on geopolitics on this issue” into an acceptable answer for her frequent talk of the “occupation of Palestine.”

If you’re a liberal visiting us because you want to induce a blood pressure spike or something, you probably think that we’re absolutely green with envy that a 28-year-old nominee is getting more attention than almost any GOP House candidate.

To which I respond: Are you kidding?

Ocasio-Cortez has been the feel-good comedy of the summer. It’s sort of like watching a Pauly Shore flick except one where Shore thinks he’s the most brilliant comedian since Richard Pryor. You can’t make up something that good.

TRENDING: Conservative Artist Builds Epic Trump Display in Yard, Opponents Should Think Twice Before Vandalizing

It’s been a hilarious, gaffe-prone OTT mistake-fest on par with “Road House.” Almost anyone with a humorous molecule in their body can’t help but laugh.

Well, except for Kaniela Ing.

Do you think that Ocasio-Cortez is a gift to the GOP?

For all I know, Ing is a fellow with a goodly dollop of humor added to his constitution. He’s a state rep and democratic socialist who was vying for the seat in Hawaii’s 1st District this fall.

Ocasio-Cortez, of course, has been big about lending a helping hand to democratic socialist candidates across the fruited plain, including outside of the contiguous United States. With Hawaii’s primaries fast approaching, she visited our nation’s 50th state Thursday to give a boost to Ing.

One problem — she forgot to introduce him.

As you can see, she was so wrapped up in her own address that she didn’t even introduce the man who she was supposedly there for. To paraphrase the inimitable Terrell Owens, she loves her some her. The entire world revolves around her campaign — including someone else’s campaign.

Twitter users, as always, had fun with it:

The catcalls, for those of you who missed the news cycle last week, involved her decision to call an invitation to debate with Ben Shapiro a “catcall.” Shapiro quickly found a post showing her demanding a debate with Rep. Joe Crowley.

Her Hawaiian walk-off may not be quite as bad as her quote about flipping Kansas red or literally anything out of her disastrous PBS interview with Margaret Hoover, but it certainly doesn’t look good. As for Ing, meanwhile, he finished a distant fourth in Saturday’s primary with 6.3 percent of the vote, losing to Ed Case with 40 percent.

Ocasio-Cortez strikes again. As for myself, I don’t see any way this could possibly get funnier — unless, of course, Pauly Shore is a democratic socialist.

NY Governor admits to violating federal law during speech

Just as the New York primary race is drawing to what appears to be an inevitable conclusion, is this a bolt from the blue? During an emotional speech at an event promoting clean water initiatives at Saranac Lake, Governor Andrew Cuomo made a rather startling statement. Recounting what he described as a fond memory, the Governor apparently confessed to participating in a federal offense. The crime in question? He and his family found and collected an eagle feather at the lake. And that’s a violation of federal law. (Press Connects)

At an event in the Adirondacks last week, Gov. Andrew Cuomo recounted a treasured memory of the time his family retrieved an eagle feather from Saranac Lake and kept it after one of the beautiful birds swooped near his canoe.

In telling the story, the New York Democrat was unknowingly confessing a crime.

A federal law prohibits non-Native Americans from possessing bald eagle parts, including feathers. The law has been on the books for nearly 80 years, but most Americans, Cuomo included, probably don’t know about it.

When asked what he planned to do about it, a spokesman for the Governor claimed the Cuomos were ignorant of the law and they would need to either return it to the lake or donate it to a US Fish and Wildlife repository. A decision hasn’t been made yet, but the spokesman said they would do one or the other.

It seems to me that there’s a third option. Since he’s not far away, he could have instead chosen to donate the feather to the Oneida Indian Nation. They’re located nearby and could legally take possession of the feather. But that doesn’t address the original crime, does it?

The first offense (assuming this wasn’t just one in a long string of feather heists committed by the Cuomos) is technically a misdemeanor but carries a potential penalty of up to a $100K fine and a year in jail. This is detailed in the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act. A second offense moves it up to a felony, allowing for two years in prison and a quarter million dollar fine.

Has anyone actually been prosecuted under this law? You bet they have. In 2009, four men from Washington state and Oklahoma were arrested and prosecuted under the statute. Others have been taken down before them. But to address this subject honestly, those were all people engaged in actively hunting and trapping the birds for the purpose of selling their feathers on the black market. I don’t believe anybody has ever been prosecuted for simply finding one and taking it home. (Though you’re still not supposed to do that.)

So it’s not as much of a career-ending scandal as it might have seemed at first glance. An apology and the surrender of the token should be good enough. But I’d still bet lunch money that Cynthia Nixon will figure out a way to bring it up at her next press conference.

Gov’t Efficiency: Trailers Full of Supplies From 11 Months Ago Found in Puerto Rico

For those of you blaming the Trump administration for the mess down in Puerto Rico in the 11 months since Hurricane Maria made landfall on the island and caused unspeakable havoc, 10 trailers full of supplies would like to have a word with you.

“Donated food sent to Puerto Rico in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria were left to rot in a parking lot of a government facility,” CBS News correspondent David Begnaud reported on Friday.

“Additionally, about 10 containers filled with non-perishable supplies sat at the government facility for 11 months.

“Video of supplies covered in rodent droppings was first posted by a Puerto Rican radio station Radio Isla on Thursday. When Begnaud visited, the trailers with the containers were locked Friday.”

The video seemed to highlight some of the issues surrounding the government inefficiency in Puerto Rico during the hurricane relief effort, although officials swore that wasn’t the case. If the CBS report is correct, and the supplies have been sitting unused for 11 months, that means the unused material has been there since virtually the hurricane passed.

TRENDING: Conservative Artist Builds Epic Trump Display in Yard, Opponents Should Think Twice Before Vandalizing

“Nicolás Gautier, an official at the facility, told CBS News one of of the containers had ‘food for dogs, and apparently several of the boxes were broken. After the placement in the van, that brings a lot of rats and it infected everything,’” CBS reported.

“The goods were at Puerto Rico’s elections commission, which has been serving as a collection site for donations.”

The discovery of the trucks opened old wounds for residents of the island territory, where a fierce battle raged between local politicians, who blamed Washington (and very specifically President Donald Trump), and Washington officials who blamed a Puerto Rican political infrastructure long past repair, where boxes of supplies sat rotting in warehouses while public officials preened for the cameras.

Do you think Puerto Rico’s problems are partially of its own making?

In case you were still wondering which side “won” this sordid dispute, consider San Juan Mayor Yulín Cruz, who earned the briefest 15 minutes of fame I’ve ever witnessed with her anti-Trump diatribes.

Fast-forward to this summer and several high-ranking officials from Ms. Cruz’s party — the Popular Democratic Party, a Puerto Rican party linked to the Democrats — are facing charges of siphoning off millions in federal funds for their own personal use. But the fact that Puerto Rico remains ravaged is still Trump’s fault.

The real losers in this, sadly, are the Puerto Rican people.

It would be profoundly unkind to say that these are voters who got the government they deserved.

No one deserves this — not even followers of Yulín Cruz, who famously stated that “what is really nasty is that anyone would turn their back on the Puerto Rican people,” and said (with a straight face) that her people “are dying, and you (Trump) are killing us with the inefficiency and the bureaucracy.”

RELATED: Puerto Rico Mayor Facing Fraud Charges Over $3 Million in Federal Funds

Those trailers full of supplies are waiting, Mayor Cruz. They tell a story of greed, incompetence and ego that likely cost lives.

The truck may not be able to hear your answer, but your city and your island will.

Gallup: Democrats Prefer Socialism to Capitalism for the First Time

Gallup reported Monday morning that “Democrats have a more positive image of socialism than they do of capitalism” for the first time since the company began polling that question over the past decade.

The major shift, Gallup says, has been that Democrats have lost faith in capitalism — even as the economy has exceeded 4.1% growth and unemployment has hit all-time lows:

Attitudes toward socialism among Democrats have not changed materially since 2010, with 57% today having a positive view. The major change among Democrats has been a less upbeat attitude toward capitalism, dropping to 47% positive this year — lower than in any of the three previous measures. Republicans remain much more positive about capitalism [71%] than about socialism [16%], with little sustained change in their views of either since 2010.

The poll mentions Democratic congressional candidate Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who has become a national figure since defeating incumbent Rep. Joe Crowley in a primary race in New York while running as an unabashed “democratic socialist.”

Gallup notes that there has been “12-point decline in young adults’ positive views of capitalism in just the past two years and a marked shift since 2010, when 68% viewed it positively.” That result comes in spite of growing opportunity for young people in the growing economy.

It would appear that Democrats, and young people, may have a view on capitalism that is not driven by economic reality but by politics and aesthetics.

A Reason-Rupe poll in 2014 found that two-thirds of millennials distrusted government — but that a similar proportion also wanted government to provide more necessities like health care.

SO CLUELESS: 100 Anti-Trump Newspapers Will All Post Anti-Trump Editorials on Same Day… As If This Is Different Than Any Other Day

SO CLUELESS: 100 Anti-Trump Newspapers Will All Post Anti-Trump Editorials on Same Day… As If This Is Different Than Any Other Day

Do these clowns ever read their own newspapers?

The average broadcast media coverage of President Trump is still 90% negative after several months in office and historic gains in the economy and in foreign policy.

Americans’ trust in the media continues to decline.

The media coverage in America is so awful Trump supporters regularly scream at the media at his rallies.

But the liberal media operatives in America are clueless idiots.

And now 100 far left papers are organizing their hatred for President Trump by agreeing to post anti-Trump editorials this Thursday… Just like they do any other day.

CNN reported:

“The dirty war on the free press must end.”

That’s the idea behind an unusual editorial-writing initiative that has enlisted scores of newspapers across America.

The Boston Globe has been contacting newspaper editorial boards and proposing a “coordinated response” to President Trump’s escalating “enemy of the people” rhetoric.

“We propose to publish an editorial on August 16 on the dangers of the administration’s assault on the press and ask others to commit to publishing their own editorials on the same date,” The Globe said in its pitch to fellow papers.

The effort began just a few days ago.

Read the rest here.

Do these far left hacks think they are fooling anyone?
