Dem Candidate Upstages Liz Warren: ‘If Elected, I’ll Be the First Native American Woman in Congress’


Debra Haaland, a Democrat activist and tribal administrator running in New Mexico’s first district, told Netroots Nation on Friday that if elected, she would be the “first Native American,” elected to Congress.

Haaland made the comment before Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), who has been accused of fabricating her Native American heritage — took the stage at the progressive political conference.

“Hello Netroots Nation! My name is Deb Haaland. I’m the Democratic nominee for New Mexico’s first congressional district,” Haaland began. “If elected, I’ll be the first Native American woman In Congress. Thank-you. I’m a citizen of the Pueblo of Laguna and a 35th generation New-Mexican. I’m a single mother to my beautiful queer daughter, a water protector and I’m proud to be here.”

“I recognize we are on indigenous land and I approach you with respect for the tribes whose homeland we stand on now, including the Chitimacha and Houma tribes.”

Haaland, one of the 81 Democrat candidates endorsed by former President Barack Obama this week, has spoken out strongly against the Trump administration’s immigration policies.

The New Mexican native has accused President Donald Trump of engaging in efforts to “dehumanize and hurt immigrants — from caging small children to arresting parents outside of churches and banning people from our country based on their religion.” Additionally, the congressional candidates have joined the ranks of leading Democrats such as New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio in calling for the abolishment of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) “I have called for abolishing ICE, because it is not living up to its mission,” she told Fox News. “The violence and terror ICE promotes must stop, and we need to hold this out-of-control agency accountable.”

As Breitbart News reported in 2012, Warren has yet to substantiate claims she possesses Native American ancestry. “The slender thread upon which Elizabeth Warren’s claim that she is 1/32 Cherokee rests—a purported 1894 marriage license application—has been exposed as non-existent. Based on a review of the original marriage records found in the files of the Logan County, Oklahoma Court Clerk’s office in Guthrie, Oklahoma, and the statements of ReJeania Zmek, the Court Clerk of Logan County, Oklahoma, it is likely that the ephemeral 1894 marriage license application never existed,” wrote Michael Patrick Leahy.

President Trump frequently mocks Warren’s claim of possessing Native America heritage, often referring to her Pocahontas.

Watchdog Group Files Complaint With IRS Against Democratic Congressional Candidate

Ethics watchdog group Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust (FACT) filed a complaint with the IRS against Democratic congressional candidate and Arkansas state Rep. Clarke Tucker, claiming he has improperly administered a 501(c)(3) foundation.

Tucker is the sole trustee of the tax-exempt HLB Universal Healthcare Trust. Federal law states that such an organization may not be used to benefit a private individual.

FACT says Tucker, who is running in Arkansas’ 2nd Congressional District to unseat incumbent Rep. French Hill (R.), has been using the trust to gain financially.

"The complaint maintains that for over two years, the Trust, in clear violation of federal law, compensated Tucker over $41,000," FACT’s statement said. "In fact, the payments Tucker received from HLB Universal Healthcare Trust in 2017 alone increased his overall income from $106,795 to $126,997—a boost of nearly 20 percent!"

"The law also states that ‘a private foundation is further restricted and is prohibited from engaging in ‘self-dealing.’ Prohibited self-dealing activity includes compensating disqualified persons, including foundation managers defined as an ‘officer, director, or trustee of a foundation,’’" FACT said. "Tucker is the sole-Trustee of the HLB Universal Healthcare Trust, which does not have any other officers or directors. And, while there is an exception to this rule, Representative Tucker did not meet that exception."

The watchdog group also claims the only charitable work performed by HLB Universal Healthcare Trust was a $50,000 grant administered to Harvard University, Tucker’s alma mater.

Tucker’s campaign spokesman Graham Senor issued a statement saying the payments were proper, the Arkansas Times reports.

This is the exact type of false, negative political attack people are tired of.

Clarke oversees the trust of a passed family member, Cindy Bost, by the books and is acting in accordance with the law and her wishes in doing so. Her direction for the primary gift was to go to Harvard, which is why she selected Clarke to oversee the trust. This frivolous complaint is a desperate attempt to distract voters from Congressman Hill’s record against Arkansas families and workers, which contrasts heavily with Clarke’s work here in Arkansas protecting our health care, empowering entrepreneurs, investing in education, and standing up for our veterans.ing entrepreneurs, investing in education, and standing up for our veterans.

FACT Executive Director Kendra Arnold explained why the IRS should investigate Clarke.

"Our tax laws have very strict and clear rules in place to ensure that those running tax-exempt charities aren’t stealing from those organizations for personal profit or political gain," Arnold said. "When you compare the very little charitable work HLB Universal Healthcare Trust has done with the extremely generous compensation Representative Clarke has received for running the Trust, something is seriously amiss. That is why we are asking the IRS to investigate this matter."

Newly Released FBI Docs Show Hillary Clinton’s Lawyers WERE NEGOTIATING EVIDENCE With Obama DOJ

The FBI released new documents on Hillary Clinton Friday showing her lawyers negotiating with the DOJ over her “successor server” also known as the infamous Platte River Networks [PRN] server she treated with ‘BleachBit.’

National Security reporter, Jordan Schachtel combed through the tranche of Hillary documents released by the FBI show Hillary’s lawyers negotiating with the DOJ and FBI over her “successor server.”

So the FBI and DOJ were negotiating evidence…amazing.

July 2018 Saw Second Highest Number of Background Checks Ever


July 2018 saw the second highest number of background checks for gun sales for any July in history.

FBI numbers show that there were 1,835,318 background checks in July 2018, and that is second only to July 2016, when there were 2,197,169 background checks.

Breitbart News reported that June 2018 also witnessed the second most background checks for any June in history. There were  1,935,691 background checks performed in June 2018, second only to the 2,131,485 checks in June 2016.

The elevated background checks are only the latest evidence of the push back against the 24/7 gun control push that followed the February 14, 2018, Parkland school shooting.

In March the NRA broke a 15-year fundraising record with nearly $2.5 million for their Political Victory Fund and the Second Amendment Foundation witnessed a 1,200 percent jump in members aged 18-20. Also, March, April, and May each witnessed record background checks, making March 2018 the biggest March in history for background checks, April 2018 the biggest April, and May 2018 the biggest May.

Background checks are not a perfect indication of the number of guns sold because retail purchasers can buy multiple guns with each background check. But a record number of background certainly indicates a high number of guns sold.

Female school teacher admits to sex acts with student, pleads guilty — but won’t lose license

Dori Myers, a 29-year-old Bronx public school teacher, admitted to engaging in sex acts with a 14-year-old student, but she won’t lose her teaching license, according to the New York Post.

What’s the background?

Myers, a married social studies teacher at The New School for Leadership and the Arts in Kingsbridge, reportedly sexually engaged a 14-year-old boy.

The boy — believed to be one of Myers’ former students — reportedly told a classmate of the alleged incident. The classmate then reportedly notified a school administrator, according to police.

Myers is married to a Rockland County sheriff’s officer.

Police arrested Myers on Jan. 19. She initially pleaded not guilty.

Her defense attorney initially said that Myers — a “model citizen” — looked “forward to clearing her name.”

What’s happening now?

This week, Myers admitted that she had, indeed, previously performed oral sex on the unnamed student several times and in several places.

According to the report, however, Myers will neither serve jail time nor have to surrender her teaching license despite the guilty plea to a criminal sex act — one that will require her to register as a sex offender.

Myers entered her plea in the Manhattan Supreme Court on Wednesday.

Initially, prosecutors requested that Justice Michael Orbus sentence Myers to two years in prison and demand she turn over her teaching certificate, which is valid in New York state.

Orbus declined, however, and ordered Myers to serve 10 years’ probation, and would not have to surrender her certificate.

Will she lose her job?

According to the Post, defense lawyer Andrew Stoll said that Myers will lose her job.

“There is a possibility that [Myers] could teach adults now or in the future and we want to preserve that possibility,” Stoll said. “She still is a talented teacher and has those skills, and I don’t see any reason to destroy her ability to make a living and to contribute to society in a positive way.”

Orbus said that it would ultimately be up to a potential employer.

“This would be a matter that any licensing agency will be able to consider, if they choose to do that, and, of course, any employer,” Orbus said.

According to the report, the department of education “typically reviews such cases to determine whether to revoke an educator’s license.”

Myers will be sentenced on Sept. 12, and has been ordered to report immediately to probation.
