Washington Post senior editor Marc Fisher said on CNN’s Reliable Sources Sunday that President Trump attacks Amazon because he is jealous of Jeff Bezos.

Fisher told CNN that Trump’s attacks on Amazon and the Washington Post are “absurd,” specifically pointing to Trump’s claim that the Post serves as a “chief lobbyist” for Amazon.

“It’s an absurd claim. The Washington Post has done really a lot of critical reporting of Amazon,” Fisher said. “What’s really going on here is that the president, according to some people inside the White House, has kind of a jealousy issue with Jeff Bezos.”

Fisher speculated that the Trump made these claims about Amazon because he is obsessed with where he ranks on the Forbes list of richest people in the world and the Forbes list of the 400 richest people in America.

The president currently ranks at No. 766 on the list of richest people in the world.

“He’s had a long-standing obsession with that Forbes list and doesn’t like where he is on it,” Fisher said, adding that Trump doesn’t “quite get” the rise of online retailers like Amazon.

Trump criticized the Post for its fake news in a Sunday morning tweet after the paper published a story about White House Chief of Staff John Kelly losing influence in the West Wing.

New York Times Executive Editor Dean Baquet also went on CNN’s Reliable Sources Sunday to claim that Trump’s bashing of the media is “out of control” and that his advisers should tell him not to criticize the media.

Trump has taken the opportunity to criticize the media for publishing fake news since the 2016 presidential election and has continued to slam the media for its coverage during his presidency. In January, he tweeted out a link to the “Fake News Awards” presented on the GOP’s website declaring CNN as the winner of four fake news awards.

London Mayor Sadiq Khan is cracking down on the carrying of knives in response to a spate of stabbings that pushed the city’s murder rate past New York’s for the “first time in modern history.”

Khan deployed an additional 300 Metropolitan Police officers over the weekend to work exclusively against knife crime, urging them to be more “confident” in their authority to stop anyone suspected of carrying a weapon.

“What you will see over the course of the next few weeks and months — is what we have seen over the last few weeks and months — which is stop-and-search based on suspicion of carrying an offensive weapon going up, more arrests as a consequence of this intelligence-led stop-and-search going up and hopefully our city becoming safer,” the mayor said Saturday, according to The Telegraph.

Khan also issued a warning to would-be knife carriers, saying they should think twice before bringing one out in public — whatever the reason.[…]

Stabbings have worsened despite Britain’s already strict knife control laws. U.K. law prohibits knife sales to those under 18 and makes it illegal for anyone to carry a knife “without good reason,” unless it has a folding blade of three inches or fewer.

The British Home Secretary is expected to roll out a new strategy on Monday to combat the wave of knife crime. The measures include legislation prohibiting knives from being sent to residential addresses when bought online and banning possession of a knife on “further education premises,” according to Sky News.

Conservatives and people with sense are fighting back in California.

The ripple began in Los Alamitos where the city council voted to opt out of California’s sanctuary law. And it was followed by Orange County who voted to join the U.S. Department of Justice in challenging the state’s sanctuary city laws. This decision was echoed by the city of Escondido and later this month San Diego County will also vote to join their ranks in this federal lawsuit. Other municipalities are lining up to consider doing the same.

California has always been the tip of the spear. Often the genesis of art, influence, ideas, style and entertainment, we also take the lead in ways that are less admirable with high state tax, high gas tax, high costs of living and housing, an out of control homeless problem in our urban areas, declining test scores in schools, increasingly inaccessible and cost-prohibitive health care, and many of our major cities often appear on lists of the least-livable cities in the U.S.

After nearly 100 years of gun control London, and the UK as a whole, are looking at knife control as the latest step in trying to dissuade the criminally-minded from carrying out their schemes.

London’s Mayor Sadiq Khan used a tweet to go after knives with verbiage similar to gun control rhetoric. He said, “No excuses; there is never a reason to carry a knife.”

On April 2, 2018, Breitbart News reported that Britain began an incremental adoption of stringent gun controls in 1920. The controls were ratcheted up during the decades that followed, until the hoops one had to jump through for legal handgun ownership reached a point were doing so became impractical. (The handgun prohibitions were contained in the Firearms Act of 1997.)

In 2009, just 12 years after the passage of the Firearms Act, the Daily Mail declared Britain was “the most violent country in Europe.” It reported that Britain had “a worse rate for all types of violence than the U.S.”

On October 21, 2017, Breitbart News reported that rapes in London were three times higher than in New York City and, on April 2, 2018, Breitbart News reported that London’s homicide rate had surpassed the number of homicides in New York City, year-to-date.

London’s homicides are largely being committed with knives so the Mayor is increasingly focused on controlling knives and is granting police “extra stop and search powers for areas worst-affected by knife crime.” The Daily Wire reports that “Parliament is also set to take up heavy ‘knife control’ legislation when it resumes this week.”

Billionaire George Soros received millions in US taxpayer dollars to fund his progressive agendas

Leftist billionaire George Soros tapped into at least $9 million worth of taxpayer dollars when the Obama administration in 2016 allegedly funneled money into a Soros organization called the East West Management Institute, according to Judicial Watch.

Thirty-two pages of government documents obtained by Judicial Watch through a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit revealed the alleged maneuver. Judicial Watch launched a lawsuit to get the documents after government agencies initially refused to hand over the public information.

What was the money used for?

Documents show money ended up being used to fuel socialist-communist operations by the Albanian government. That included a survey designed to prove that Albanians were in favor of restricting the powers of the judicial system in their country.

“What’s troubling is obviously Soros needs no taxpayer money to do any of this ‘advocacy’ work,” Tom Fitton, Judicial Watch president, told Fox News.

But the State Department and the U.S. Agency for International Development partnered with Soros and essentially allowed him to set U.S. foreign policy, Fitton said.

According to the documents, Soros operatives were also allowed to enter State Department offices and provide technical reviews of other applications for other government funding aimed at Albania.

After receiving the documents and payment of attorneys’ fees, Judicial Watch agreed to drop its lawsuit, according to a statement on its website. Judicial Watch is also investigating Soros-led activities in Romania, Hungary, Guatemala and Colombia.

“The governments are under assault from the Soros-State Department unity effort to bring socialism and stop anything in the area of reform, Constitutionalism — the sort of things Americans would be uncomfortable with,” Fitton told Fox News.

The State Department has denied the allegations.

Has anyone else questioned this?

Last year, a group of senators led by Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) asked then-Secretary of State Rex Tillerson to investigate how taxpayer dollars ended up supporting Soros’ political agendas in several Eastern European countries.

A letter on Lee’s website questions whether millions of taxpayer dollars are being funneled through the USAID and into Soros’ Open Society Foundations, which promote his progressive agendas.

“Foundation Open society-Albania and its experts, with funding from USAID, have created the controversial Strategy Document for Albanian Judicial Reform,” the letter states. “Some leaders believe that these ‘reforms’ are ultimately aimed to give the Prime Minister and left-of-center government full control over the judiciary.”

Judicial Watch is a conservative, non-partisan educational foundation, according to its website.

Facebook has reportedly limited the page of the pro-Trump YouTube sensations Diamond and Silk.

In a post on their Facebook page, Diamond and Silk, an internet commentating duo that became popular during the 2016 election for their vocal support of President Trump, stated that after much deliberation, Facebook has deemed their content and videos “unsafe to the community.” The post on the duo’s page reads;

“Diamond And Silk have been corresponding since September 7, 2017, with Facebook (owned by Mark Zuckerberg), about their bias censorship and discrimination against D&S brand page.”

“Finally after several emails, chats, phone calls, appeals, beating around the bush, lies, and giving us the run around, Facebook gave us another bogus reason why Millions of people who have liked and/or followed our page no longer receives notification and why our page, post and video reach was reduced by a very large percentage.”

“Here is the reply from Facebook. Thu, Apr 5, 2018 at 3:40 PM: ‘The Policy team has came to the conclusion that your content and your brand has been determined unsafe to the community.’”

“Yep, this was FB conclusion after 6 Months, 29 days, 5 hrs, 40 minutes and 43 seconds. Oh and guess what else Facebook said: “This decision is final and it is not appeal-able in any way.” (Note: This is the exact wording that FB emailed to us.)”

Diamond and Silk then posed multiple questions to Facebook and specifically the company’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg. The questions are;

1. What is unsafe about two Blk-women supporting the President Donald J. Trump?
2. Our FB page has been created since December 2014, when exactly did the content and the brand become unsafe to the community?
3. When you say “community” are you referring to the Millions who liked and followed our page?
4. What content on our page was in violation?
5. If our content and brand was so unsafe to the community, why is the option for us to boost our content and spend money with FB to enhance our brand page still available? Maybe FB should give us a refund since FB censored our reach.
6. Lastly, didn’t FB violate their own policy when FB stopped sending notifications to the Millions of people who liked and followed our brand page?

Breitbart News has reached out to Facebook for comment on the issue but has yet to receive a reply at the of the writing of this article.

This isn’t the first time that Diamond and Silk have faced internet censorship, the YouTube stars had their videos demonetized from YouTube’s platform in August of 2017. The duo claimed that YouTube had “stopped over 95% percent of our videos from being monetized, stating: ‘It’s Not Suitable For All Advertisers’.” The internet commentators implied that they may take legal action against YouTube at the time saying in a tweet; “We Smell A Class Action Lawsuit. This…. S.ugar H.oney I.ce T.ea have got to stop. YouTube……Google, this does not look good!”

The two received support at the time from former Governor Sarah Palin;

Fox News commentator Sean Hannity also appeared to voice his support for Diamond and Silk in a tweet;

Boulder City Council Passes Gun Ban On First Reading

The flood gates have been opened.

A controversial city ordinance to ban “assault weapons, bump stocks and high capacity magazines” passed the Boulder City Council unanimously on first reading Thursday night after more than five hours of public testimony on both sides of the issue.

As written, the ban would require anyone legally possessing anything under the ban to either register that gun with the Boulder Police Department (fee charged) or surrender it for destruction.

The first reading passage is not a final decision. The Council could make changes on second or even a third reading before it becomes law.

Councilwoman Jill Adler Grano, who asked for the ordinance, called the ban a “no brainer.”

“I don’t see this as taking away Second Amendment rights,” Grano said. “The Second Amendment does not protect assault weapons. There have been hundreds and hundreds of mass shootings in America. This is a long overdue proposal. I think it’s time to say enough, not in the city of Boulder.”

The interest in the ordinance drew hundreds of residents, most of whom watched the hearing on televisions in two additional rooms.

For the most part, attendees were respectful of each other. The mayor at one point asked the audience to refrain from clapping.

“It is uncomfortable for some,” she said.

City attorney Tom Carr asked the audience to stop laughing at him as he tried to explain the nuances of various types of guns.

Those in favor of the ban say something must be done to stop the bleeding. Those opposed say gun ownership is a Second Amendment right.[..]

David Kopel, a Constitutional Law professor at the University of Denver’s Sturm College of Law and Independence Institute Research Director told council members they should talk to the Attorney General before they take any action, saying there are profound problems with state preemption laws.

“The city attorney’s point of view that any gun that doesn’t have a pistol grip but just has some kind of protrusion on the stock turns this into a very, very broad ban,” Kopel said, also encouraging them to ask about other features that make it illegal. “If two people own a gun and one is 5-foot-2 and the other is 6-foot-4 the stock can be adjusted so it’s a better fit for the user. It is hard to see how that does not violate the constitutional right to arms to say that a gun because it fits better becomes more unconstitutional, and I think the same can be said about many of the other features on the list.”

Kopel, who is considered one of the foremost authorities on the Second Amendment, has written more than a dozen books on the subject. Still, Councilman Sam Weaver challenged Kopel because of his affiliation with the Independence Institute and the National Rifle Association.

Kopel added magazines over 10 rounds constitute over half of all magazines sold in the last 20 years.

“The criminalization of them with no grandfathering will turn a very large percentage of the population of Boulder into retroactive criminals, and people won’t register because they are afraid of confiscation,” he said.

A petition to boycott ABC’s late-night funnyman Jimmy Kimmel has reached more than 50,000 signatures after the Live host dedicated a segment of his show on Monday to mock First Lady Melania Trump and her accent.

“We may not get him kicked off the air,” reads the recently launched petition, which calls for the boycott of Jimmy Kimmel Live. “But we can send a message that these attacks on our First Lady will NOT be tolerated!”

Kimmel caused a stir last week with his monologue mocking Mrs. Trump reading a children’s book to kids at the White House Easter Egg Hunt.

“No White House Easter celebration would be complete without story time with our first lady,” Kimmel said.

“Be clever and curious, just like a cat,” Mrs. Trump reads in the video played by Kimmel. “Ask lots of questions. about this and that.”

While his audience laughed along, Kimmel delivered a mocking impression of the first lady’s accent, saying, “Yeah, about dees and dat.”

“Guillermo, you know what this means, you could be first lady of the United States,” Kimmel said to his Mexican immigrant sidekick.

The boycott organizers plan to mail the petition to “the front door of Disney/ABC Studios in Burbank, CA.”

“Let’s send a message that these attacks on our First Lady will NOT be tolerated!” the group said.

Kimmel — who is facing fierce criticism for repeatedly making grotesque gay sex jokes about Fox News host Sean Hannity and President Donald Trump — said last month that he’d seen polling that shows his anti-Trump rhetoric “has cost me commercially.”

“That’s not ideal, but I wouldn’t change anything I said,” Kimmel said defiantly.

Washington Post Deletes Article On Mueller Witness Being A Pedophile

In mid-March, The Washington Post published a report on their website from the Associated Press that documented the fact that a supposed cooperating witness in special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation is a convicted pedophile. The Post has now deleted the article, without providing any sort of explanation or retraction.

The article, titled “Nader, Mueller’s latest cooperator, a convicted pedophile,” was published on March 15 and documented George Nader’s “15-year-old pedophilia conviction in Europe that has not been previously reported.”

However, at some point over the last couple of weeks, The Washington Post decided to delete the article without offering any explanation or retraction. (A digital archive can be viewed here.)

Regarding Nader’s pedophilia-related convicted, The report stated:

Nader was convicted by Prague’s Municipal Court of 10 cases of sexually abusing minors and sentenced to a one-year prison term in May 2003, said Marketa Puci, the court spokeswoman. She said the crimes occurred between 1999 and 2002…

…In one case, Nader requested oral sex from a 14-year-old in a room at the Hilton Hotel in Prague, Puci said. After the boy refused, Nader masturbated in front of the boy and paid him 2,000 koruna — worth about $100 today, she said.

The verdict cites other examples of Nader providing money, jewelry, cellphones, clothes and accommodation for sexual services. The AP was able to see a copy of the verdict, which gives Nader’s birthdate as May 15, 1959. Nader was separately accused in Washington, D.C., of child pornography infractions in 1985, but those charges were later dropped. A criminal docket sheet obtained by the AP shows the same birthdate for Nader.

The report documents how Mueller stopped Nader, who has a history of being an “international fixer,” while he was traveling through Dulles International Airport. According to the report, Nader’s electronic devices were seized and he later agreed to cooperate with Mueller’s investigation after he met with his lawyer.

Sources that spoke to The Post said that Mueller is interested in high-level get-togethers that Nader was involved in after the 2016 election, which suggests that his interest in Nader has nothing to do with the alleged collusion between Trump campaign officials and Russian officials, which is what his investigation was supposed to be about.

South Carolina Republicans Introduce Bill To Secede Over Gun Rights

Late this week, a group of Republican lawmakers in South Carolina introduced a bill that would allow the state to secede from the United States if the federal government violated the Second Amendment.

The measure, which was referred to the South Carolina State House Judiciary Committee on April 5, would open the possibility of the state seceding from the U.S. if the federal government began confiscating legally purchased firearms. The bill states:

Notwithstanding another provision of law, the General Assembly shall convene to consider whether to secede from the United States based upon the federal government’s unconstitutional violation of the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution, if the federal government confiscates legally purchased firearms in this State.”

The Hill reports that the bill was “introduced by GOP Reps. Mike Pitts, Jonathon Hill and Ashley Trantham, comes amid an intense debate over the nation’s gun laws that was reignited in February after a deadly mass shooting in Parkland, Fla.”

The Hill noted that South Carolina was the first state to secede from the Union in 1860 during the time leading up to the American Civil War.
