National big-box retailer Target was badly burned in the public relations arena two years ago when it decided that it would choose sides in the culture wars by announcing that the chain’s restrooms would not be limited to the gender of birth for shoppers but rather their gender identity.

The policy change came during the big push at the end of the eight-year Obama horror show to throw open women’s restrooms to not only transgenders but potentially perverts and child molesters and Target paid dearly at the time with conservatives choosing to do their shopping elsewhere as well as Christian organizations calling to boycott the corporation.

Things died down after the suits at corporate headquarters mollified critics by spending millions on adding a third single bathroom to stores but the controversy has once again reared its head after a pervert exposed himself to a young girl at a Chicago-area location last weekend.

Target is facing widespread outrage and calls for a boycott after a man exposed himself to a girl in the women’s bathroom of one of its stores.

The evangelist Franklin Graham slammed Target for the incident in a Facebook post on Wednesday and urged his more than 6.7 million followers to boycott the company in response. In the post, Graham blamed the incident on the company’s bathroom policy, which was changed two years ago to allow transgender customers to use the bathroom or fitting room that matched their gender identity.
Though a suspect has not been named and there was no indication the man was transgender, Graham’s post has been shared more than 58,000 times and has generated more than 17,000 comments, most of which expressed support for a Target boycott.

Target says the man who exposed himself was drunk when he entered the women’s bathroom at one of its Chicago stores and pushed into a stall that was being used by a young girl, pushed her out of the way, and used the bathroom before leaving. The police are still searching for the man, according to the Chicago NBC affiliate WMAQ.

“At Target, the safety and security of our guests is critically important to us,” a Target spokeswoman, Danielle Schumann, told WMAQ. “Immediately after a guest notified us of this incident, we called law enforcement and provided them with video footage from our store entrance to help with their investigation.”

Police are looking for a man who exposed himself to a child last Sunday at a store in the South Loop.

A mother was with her young child at about 4:08 p.m. in the women’s restroom at the Target at 1154 S. Clark when the man entered and insisted he had to go to the bathroom, according to Chicago Police.

He then pushed into the stall where the child was and exposed his genitals before leaving the bathroom, police said.

He was described by police as black with a dark complexion, about 30 to 40 years old, 5-foot-10 to 6 feet tall, 170 to 190 pounds and wearing a red jacket, dark-colored hat, gray pants and sunglasses.

Reverend Franklin Graham is calling for Christians to send Target a message by boycotting the store and no, this is not the same as David Hogg’s cyberbullying to crush free speech but rather a legitimate response to a retailer that should have seen this coming when it decided to mix business with politics.

Perverts are perverts and they will prowl but why would anyone make it easier for them?

Now a poor child has been traumatized by some freak wagging his wiener in her face and Target is left holding the bag – again.

A former heroin addict, now self-described political junkie, is turning into a viral hero after she described how discovering that “(t)he left encourages and enables dependency,” turned her into a conservative.

In a video posted to Twitter on Thursday by user @Ellysa_Maye, who runs a conservative Facebook group called Red, Right + True, she discussed why she turned on the left during her time as a drug addict.

She describes a period where she “left treatment, got kicked out of rehab — but learned a lot.”

That’s when she said she became disillusioned with the political dogma of the left.

“Try and make guns illegal, but have fun trying to take guns away from a meth head,” she states.

“Have fun trying to track those down.”

She also said that period taught her a great deal about the values of the American political left.

“The left encourages and enables dependency in so many ways,” she says in the video.

“Financially, physically, if we’re talking about drugs,” she continues. “People would trade food stamps for heroin, food stamps for rides (to pick up drugs), food stamps for weapons.”

“I saw a lot of bad things, experienced a lot of bad things.”

She said that while no one side is totally to blame for these problems, it’s mostly a function of larger government — the province of the American political left, which many Republicans can still fall prey to.

“Politicians on both sides create problems so that they can offer us solutions,” she said. “And then we vote for those solutions.

“We are always promised things that will never happen,” she says. “That’s why it’s just better to live your life aiming to be an individual.

She adds that “there needs to be help for people in the system, of course.

“But there is so much abuse in the system. America is essentially subsidizing people’s self-destruction. We don’t need to be so government-minded. We don’t need to rely on them for everything.

“If nobody was dependent and there were no problems to offer solutions to, the left would have no power,” she concludes.

Her video gained a lot of traction, particularly from former users and their family who were followers.

A pro-gun group has filed a federal lawsuit against a Chicago suburb that banned so-called “assault rifles” as well as high-capacity magazines, a press release stated.

The Second Amendment Foundation made the announcement just days after Deerfield, Illinois passed the ban, saying that it violated state law.

“The Second Amendment Foundation today filed a lawsuit against the Chicago suburb of Deerfield, Illinois seeking an injunction against enforcement of the ban on so-called ‘assault weapons’ and ‘large capacity magazines’ adopted by the Village Board of Trustees earlier this week,” the statement read.

“Joining SAF in the legal challenge is the Illinois State Rifle Association and a private citizen, Daniel Easterday, who resides in the village and is a gun owner.”

According to WLS-TV, residents who refuse to comply with the ban would face a fine of up to $1,000 a day. Village leaders have the power to decide what qualifies as an “assault weapon.”

Liberals in Deerfield were ecstatic at the meeting where the ban was passed.

“This is our fight. This is our generation’s fight, and we’re going to keep fighting,” anti-gun Deerfield High School student Ariella Kharasch told the village leaders. “Thank you for being part of that.”

“If Highland Park, if Deerfield, if more towns say no to this type of weapon, maybe the state of Illinois says no,” Deerfield Village Manager Kent Street said. “Maybe the federal government says no.”

While a previous Deerfield gun-grabbing ordinance covering high-powered weapons survived scrutiny by the U.S. Supreme Court in 2015, the Second Amendment Foundation’s lawsuit focuses on a provision in state law.

“The lawsuit challenges the village ban under a 2013 amended state statute that declared ‘the regulation of the possession or ownership of assault weapons are exclusive powers and functions of this State. Any ordinance or regulation, or portion of that ordinance or regulation, that purports to regulate the possession or ownership of assault weapons in a manner that is inconsistent with this Act, shall be invalid.,’” the press release notes.

“We moved swiftly to challenge this gun ban because it flies in the face of state law,” Second Amendment Foundation founder and Executive Vice President Alan M. Gottlieb is quoted as saying in the press release.

“While the village is trying to disguise this as an amendment to an existing ordinance, it is, in fact, a new law that entirely bans possession of legally-owned semi-auto firearms, with no exception for guns previously owned, or any provision for self-defense.

“The new ordinance also provides for confiscation and destruction of such firearms and their original capacity magazines,” he continued.

“What is particularly outrageous about this new law is that it levies fines of up to $1,000 a day against anyone who refuses to turn in their gun and magazines or move them out of the village by the time the ordinance takes effect in June. This certainly puts the lie to claims by anti-gunners that ‘nobody is coming to take your guns.’”

Deerfield resident Dan Cox may have put it best. At the same village meeting where liberals were doing a victory lap, he issued a stern warning to those who would take their guns away.

“You are the bureaucrats that Thomas Jefferson warned us about,” Cox said.

And now, if the Second Amendment Foundation has any say in it, they’re going to pay.

In the scorched earth war against President Trump that has been waged across television screens, newspapers, magazines, and social media, the biggest casualty may end up being those biased and dishonest organizations that would rather burn their own reputations down than see the POTUS succeed.

A new poll by Monmouth University is bad news for the mainstream media which thanks to its own transparent far-left agenda are becoming less trusted by the day and for a damned good reason.

According to the poll, a whopping 77 percent of respondents believe that the mainstream media reports fake news – nice job CNN, you have been the forerunner in turning the entire press into a mockery that is about as free as one would expect in North Korea or Putin’s Russia.

Those believing that the media reports “fake news” has surged in the past year to more than three out of four Americans.

According to the latest Monmouth University poll, 77 percent believe the media at least occasionally engages in reporting fake news, and they blame those trying to plant false stories as well as editors.

That is sharply up from the 63 percent who believed it a year ago.

The news about “fake news” is not good, according to the Monmouth University Poll. Large majorities of the American public believe that traditional media outlets engage in reporting fake news and that outside sources are actively trying to plant fake stories in the mainstream media. When it comes to the meaning of “fake news,” a majority believe that it involves editorial decisions as well as inaccurate reporting. The public feels that social media platforms are partly to blame for the spread of fake news and are not doing enough to stop it. The poll also finds that Pres. Trump continues to be less trusted than the major cable news outlets as an information source.

More than 3-in-4 Americans believe that traditional major TV and newspaper media outlets report “fake news,” including 31% who believe this happens regularly and 46% who say it happens occasionally. The 77% who believe fake news reporting happens at least occasionally has increased significantly from 63% of the public who felt that way last year.

The downside is that there is little faith in President Trump but that in and of itself is a testament to the effectiveness of the rolling smear campaigns that the MSM has been engaged in for nearly three years and especially since the election.

One more reason to support independent media.

Rep. Steve King (R-IA) joined SiriusXM host Rebecca Mansour and guest host Frances Martel on Friday’s Breitbart News Tonight to discuss a proposed legislative improvement to E-Verify that he said GOP leadership cast aside.

King began by expressing support for a national E-Verify mandate for employers to combat illegal immigration. “Mandatory E-Verify would help a lot, and it would especially help a lot initially until they try to figure out a way around it,” said King.

King said the weakness of an E-Verify mandate lies within its need for enforcement — which can vary across administrations — via Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

“The one thing that causes me pause about mandatory E-Verify is you still have to enforce it,” King remarked. “You still have to show up with ICE and go through and examine the records and punish the employer if he’s violating and hiring illegals. We didn’t have enforcement throughout this time, which is why we have this problem, so I think under the Trump administration, we’d have pretty good enforcement. Under a future administration, maybe not so much.”

King then shared his recommendations for improving E-Verify, which would include making the deductibility of employee wages and benefits business expenses contingent on verification of the lawful employment status of related employees.

King explained, “I’ve written a piece of legislation that I believe is a self-actuating and self-enforcing. … I’ve called it ‘The New IDEA Act,’ and my acronym IDEA stands for Illegal Deduction Elimination Act. It clarifies that wages and benefits paid to illegals are not tax deductible. The IRS would come in during a normal audit — it doesn’t accelerate audits — and run the information of the employees through E-Verify, to give the employers safe harbor if he uses E-Verify, but if his employers can’t qualify under E-Verify, the IRS can deny the wages and benefits paid to them as a business expense.”

King added that his proposed bill would reduce the economic incentives to unlawfully employ illegal immigrants. He said employers would be forced to place the costs of employee wages and benefits in the “grocery receipts column” without the ability to claim them as business expenses. 

“So it would take your ten-dollar-an-hour illegal and turn him into about a 16-dollar-an-hour illegal,” King continued, adding that employers would be “accruing a massive liability.”

King stated his proposal would mandate cooperation between the IRS, Homeland Security, and the Social Security Administration. “I require that the IRS set up a cooperating team with the Department of Homeland Security and the Social Security Administration so they’re comparing notes and working in the direction of cleaning up the illegal employment in America. That’s a step up from E-Verify,” stated King.

GOP leadership, said King’s proposal, was uninterested in his proposal. “I had a thought of getting it into the tax bill. They were looking for it paid for, and it was a $254 billion paid for, and the revenue it would generate, according to score put up by the Center for Immigration Studies, and I just couldn’t get it there, partly because — I’ll just say it — it wasn’t leadership’s idea,” King said.

King concluded by describing fear of the IRS as an asset for his proposal. “What agency do employers fear the most?” he asked. “I’d say the IRS. When they have that level of respect, they’ll self-enact this legislation. It doesn’t take any enforcement; it’s already there.”
