The head of a coalition of black pastors says Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) and the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) must end their “partisan hypocrisy” and denounce “leftist hate speech” such as that proclaimed by anti-Semite and Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan.

In a press release sent to Breitbart News, Rev. William Owens, president of the Coalition of African American Pastors (CAAP) refers to Farrakhan’s statement in a recent speech: “White folks are going down. And Satan is going down. And Farrakhan, by God’s grace, has pulled the cover off of that Satanic Jew and I’m here to say your time is up, your world is through.”

Owens observes Waters was among those present at Farrakhan’s speech.

“Rep. Waters’ refusal to speak out against Farrakhan and other extremist hate speech is the perfect example of the hypocrisy and moral cowardice of the Congressional Black Caucus,” Owens says. “Rep. Waters lives in a multi-million dollar home, a stark contrast to the poor district she represents. She manipulates African American voters for her own gain. And she’s just one of many black leaders who have sold out our values.”

In February, Waters appeared on a BET special program that focused on President Donald Trump’s State of the Union address – though Waters herself did not attend the event as a protest against the president. She said, nevertheless, that Trump is a “racist.”

“One speech cannot and does not make Donald Trump presidential,” she said. “He’s not presidential, and he never will be presidential. He claims that’s bringing people together but make no mistake, he is a dangerous, unprincipled, divisive, and shameful racist.”

Additionally, in January, a photograph of then-Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois and Farrakhan taken in 2005 at a meeting of the Congressional Black Caucus was released after a 13-year cover-up to protect Obama’s political career.

Owens joined civil rights educator Dr. Alveda King and other black leaders in February to publicly rebuke the CBC as a “disgrace” and “traitors” to black Americans. The leaders accused CBC members of engaging in “childish” behavior during the State of the Union address, with their “sulking in their seats, texting, pretending to be disinterested.”

“Without question, the CBC’s foul demeanor has been a just cause to demand either ‘REPRESENT or GO AWAY,’” Owens said at the time. “I make a strong plea to the black community to embrace this position with openness and hear us out; we have been sidelined by traitors in Washington and must engage.”

Owens and his group have launched a petition to hold the CBC accountable to the “values and needs of the African American community.” The petition further says many “so-called ‘civil rights leaders’ have lost touch with the moral values of mainstream African Americans.”

“We’ve watched for years as Democratic politicians offered African Americans platitudes and promises in exchange for political loyalty,” Owens asserts, adding:

In the meantime, Democratic policies reduced our inner cities to crumbling, crime-ridden, economic wastelands. And yet, we are supposed to continue on, not questioning the policies or politicians that brought us to this point? African American voters have had enough of the double standards and hypocrisy. There is a great hunger for moral leadership in this country. If the Congressional Black Caucus does not step up to meet that demand, they will find themselves in need of new jobs.

“Politicians like Maxine Waters need to step up or go home,” Owens says. “We’ve had enough of their partisan games. They’re stooges of a party that enriches them, but does nothing to help the African American community.”

Illegal immigration pouring across the United States-Mexico border is likely to rise this year, according to a Princeton University expert, as President Trump’s border wall has yet to be constructed.

In an interview with the Washington Examiner‘s Paul Bedard, Princeton Policy Adviser President Steven Kopits said illegal immigration in 2018 is likely to increase by 70 percent — or about 590,000 border-crossings for 2018.

Such an increase, Kopits told the Washington Examiner, would put 2018 as the “second highest year since 2010” for illegal immigration on the southern border.

The report comes as Trump’s proposed border wall has yet to be paid for and constructed, leaving the southern border just as open as it was under former President Obama.

The spike in illegal immigration for this year would translate into suppressing wage gains for American workers, who over the last couple of months have enjoyed historic wage growth due to increased immigration enforcement and less illegal immigration in 2017 largely due to Trump’s rhetoric.

In Kopits’ most recent report on illegal immigration, he notes that California’s farm wages for Americans have increased because of slower illegal immigration throughout 2017 and increased enforcement, with the caveat, “However, the more enforcement succeeds, the higher wages will go, and the greater the incentive to evade the ban. In California, for example, tougher border enforcement has raised farm wages to $16 / hour, up perhaps $5 / hour over earlier times.”

Those wages gains, though, risk being depleted this year. Also running the risk of being depleted is history-making wage growth for American workers in the construction industry, the garment industry, for workers employed at small businesses, and black Americans.

As Breitbart News most recently reported, businesses such as Walmart, Dollar Tree, Target, Foot Locker, J.C. Penney, Bojangles, Abercrombie & Fitch, Ross, and Burlington Coat Factory have mentioned that there is pressure for them to raise Americans’ wages in Trump’s tightened labor market.

But, should illegal immigration, along with legal immigration levels, continue – where the U.S. admits more than one million foreign nationals to the country every year — the wage pressure currently on corporations could be ended.

Already, Americans have seen stagnant wage growth as border-crossings have continued to increase under Trump. For example, in February 2018, the number of illegal aliens apprehended at the southern border increased by more than 2.5 percent.

At the same time, wage growth for Americans has become stagnant again, as Reuters noted:

Wage growth is watched closely by the Fed as evidence of the labor market’s strength, and at 2.6 percent year over year remains “disappointing…It is still too soon to declare full employment,” said Elise Gould, a senior economist at the Economic Policy Institute.

For the left, Jamiel Shaw Sr. is a walking nightmare.

He’s a black man who’s lost his son to exactly the kind of illegal immigrant crime that liberal policies make so prevalent in the United States.

And he’s not afraid to speak truth to power — especially to the leader of one of country’s most notorious sanctuary cities.

In an appearance on “Fox & Friends” Friday, Shaw made no bones about his case against Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf, a woman who made national headlines last month by warning illegal immigrants in her city that a raid was coming by agents from Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

“You know, it was just disgusting,” Shaw told host Steve Doocy. “Her job is to protect the citizens, the American citizens, you know. And for her to take a stand like that, she’s allowing Americans to be murdered.”

Those are the kinds of facts Democrats have to defend against. It’s a job they don’t mind doing when the accusers are white men — like Attorney General Jeff Sessions or President Donald Trump. Then the liberals can scream “racism” and try to avoid the argument all together.

But when the accusing finger is being pointed by a man like Jamiel Shaw Sr., it’s not so easy.

That’s because there is no Jamiel Shaw Jr. living anymore. The boy died when he was only 17, shot to death by an illegal immigrant from Mexico in 2008.

Shaw Sr. knows the kind of toll illegal immigrant crime is taking on communities in America, particularly low-income black and Hispanic communities.

And he knows how it hurts crime victims and their families when officials like Schaaf help illegals avoid the law.

“She has blood on her hands because she could have easily just let them go into the jail system and capture those criminals,” Shaw told Doocy. “But she allowed them to come out, and then for people to be murdered and raped and robbed and identity theft. That’s all on her and people like her.”

Liberals, of course, lionize Schaaf. The New York Times published a flattering profile of the mayor, and noted that the friction with Trump’s ICE agents and the Justice Department could only help her re-election bid in the progressive city.

But Shaw and parents of Americans who’ve been victimized or killed by illegal aliens think Schaaf should be prosecuted for helping illegals who make victims of American citizens, according to Fox News.

In Friday’s interview, Shaw tied the subject into the current hysteria over school safety sweeping the country after the Parkland, Florida, school shooting on Feb. 14. He said new gun laws aren’t the answer the country needs.

“Right now, you’re hearing everybody demanding to be safe in their schools and their communities,” he said. “When our kids are murdered, and we demand to be safe, we’re all racists and bigots, and because Trump supports us, we’re all bad people.

“The guy who killed my son was on his third gun charge!” he exclaimed. “But they don’t care if illegal aliens carry guns and kill our kids.”

He also mocked House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, who used her weekly news conference Thursday to complain that the eight prototypes of a border wall between the United States and Mexico are all too big, according to The Washington Times.

“She’s crazy anyway, Nany Pelosi is,” Shaw said. “If they would have had a wall like that, maybe the people who brought their illegal alien son over her to murder my son, it would never happen. But I guarantee you, if someone in her family was murdered by an illegal, I guarantee you should would go hog-wild, building a wall to the moon if she had to.”

Now, calling Nancy Pelosi “crazy” is really speaking truth to liberal power. And it’s why a man like Jamiel Shaw Sr. is a walking nightmare for the left.
