Billy Graham’s Response to His Biggest Surprise in Life Holds True in the Hearts of Every Christian

Iconic evangelist Billy Graham passed from this world and into the next on Feb. 21, 2018. His passing has inspired thousands to share their favorite memories of Graham’s thoughts, remarks and sayings.

One of the very best is the beloved reverend’s response to what he considered to be the biggest surprise in life — he was utterly floored by how short life is.

“There may not be a tomorrow for you,” he said lovingly, but bluntly.

Grahams’ remarks were made in 1982 at the Southern Seminary Chapel, according to a video shared by the Southern Seminary’s Twitter account, but they hold perhaps even more meaning today than they did then.

“If someone had told me when I was 20 years old that life was very short and that it would past just like ‘that,’ I wouldn’t have believed it,” he said. “And if I don’t tell you that, you don’t believe it either.”

“I cannot get young people to understand how brief life is — how quickly it passes! It seems like yesterday I was in school,” he recalled.

“The fact that time is short calls for something now,” he insisted.

Did Billy Graham have an effect on your life?

We have to be men and women of action to further Christ’s kingdom, he said.

“The things we ought to do, the classes we ought to take, the books we ought to read — do it now!” he urged.

“The family that needs you, spend more time with them now! Write that letter home now!… The money you ought to give, give now!… The people you ought to witness to, do it now!”

“There may not be a tomorrow for you and for me,” he said, and then nailed his point home:

“Time is too short for indecision.”

He may have delivered the message nearly four decades ago, but he was already finishing off his early sixties.

That man went on to touch untold lives through his loving-kindness and passion for Jesus.

You are welcome to believe whatever you want, but I tell you — this really is a powerful testament to the fact that the Lord rewards people of God who live each day for Him as though it was his or her last.

Let’s see if we can emulate a little bit of Graham’s love for Christ today.

Downfall: “The View” Continues to Plummet…Invites Disgraced ESPN Journalist to Bash Trump

I’ve always personally felt that the title of ABC’s gabfest “The View” was missing something. I’m not personally opposed to calling it “The View,” per se. I just think the three words “… from the left” ought to be appended to it.

Every morning at roughly 11 a.m. (or thereabouts, depending on your local affiliate), the American Broadcasting Company airs what amounts to a paid political advertisement for the Democrat Party, in which a gaggle of female liberal celebrities vigorously lambaste anything and everything to the right of Hillary Clinton’s campaign platform, along with the token conservative allowed to be in their midst. (That “conservative” is currently Meghan McCain, proof positive that actual conservatives were a bit much for their taste.)

The show has come under fire in recent weeks, particularly after Joy Behar essentially called praying Christians — or at least Christians who pray like Mike Pence — mentally ill. Now, the show is back in the spotlight after an appearance by Jemele Hill, the ESPN journalist who called Donald Trump a white supremacist and was later disgraced with a suspension due to a tweet urging the boycott of Cowboys owner Jerry Jones.

Five months after she tweeted that “Donald Trump is a white supremacist who has largely surrounded himself w/ other white supremacists,” she appeared on the liberal talk show where she defended her statement against what amounted to cursory opposition (it might be better to simply call it curiosity) from the aforementioned Ms. McCain.

“I still stand by what I said,” Hill told McCain when asked whether she was still willing to stand by her statement, according to The Daily Beast.

She added that “I don’t think that his supporters are white supremacists.” They do, however, suffer from something just as bad: the dreaded disease privilegeitis whiteus.

Do you think Jemele Hill should have been fired for her remarks on President Trump?

“What I would say, though, is that they have the benefit and privilege to be able to distance and disassociate themselves from certain issues,” Hill said.

“Me, as a woman of color, I feel vulnerable to certain behaviors, certain policies, certain things that he’s said and done. And so all of that was part of that response, feeling that vulnerability. If it doesn’t impact you directly or if you don’t feel that, it’s probably harder for you to understand it.”

Hilariously, Hill didn’t think calling the president a white supremacist surrounded by white supremacists — and not being particularly eager to clarify at the time that she didn’t think it applied to his “privileged” supporters — would amount to much.

“I did not expect in that moment that it was going to become what it became,” Hill said.

RELATED: 2nd Amendment Win: Trump Unveils Brand New Plan to Combat School Shootings

Really, now.

Let’s be clear here: white supremacist is a rhetorical hand grenade that isn’t to be tossed around lightly. It is someone who literally believes in a master race, believes it is white and, in an American context, is usually willing to use violent means to defend it and to target members of other races.

A white supremacist is not, I repeat, is not someone you believe to be insufficiently supportive of causes and positions that you associate with people of color. It is not someone who doesn’t ascribe to postcolonialist dogma. It isn’t someone who didn’t like President Obama, or who thinks that the Black Lives Matter movement has been prone to excess, or who supports their local police, or who thinks that illegal immigration is, well, illegal and ought to be punished as such.

None of these things are white supremacist. None of these things have ever been white supremacist. Labeling them as such does not, alas, change that salient fact. If Hill has information that the president is himself or is surrounding himself with “American History X” types, she as a journalist has the obligation to come forward with this information for the good of the country. Until that time, it’s fair to say her statement is objectively false.

As for her thoughts that white people who support Donald Trump are privileged and just don’t get it, I would propose that it might be the other way around.

Let’s not forget that Hill has gone further than simply calling Trump’s supporters privileged. In an appearance on Al Sharpton’s MSNBC show, Hill compared the president’s State of the Union speech to “racial pornography,” ostensibly painting them as mindless, lustful consumers of bigotry.

Hill has ensconced herself deep within the insulating bubble of the political media — which ESPN, a former sports network, is now a member in good standing of. These are the people who thought Donald Trump could never win and then failed to understand the reasons why, simply labeling it either bigotry or a hitherto unknown darkness of the heart that had affected Americans.

The idea that blue-collar, middle-income Americans, who often have their acceptable range of opinions dictated to them by the American media, are privileged beyond opinion-makers like Hill simply because of the color of their skin would be funny were it not so pernicious.

Her clarifying statements on those individuals since the tweet — that anyone who voted for or supports the president is a vicious automaton, blinded by their privilege and nourished on “racial pornography” — are reprehensible. The fact that she wasn’t given anything resembling a grilling on them by the women of “The View” is equally sickening.

But hey, it’s all good to call Christians mentally ill. Right, Joy Behar?

Please like and share on Facebook and Twitter if you agree this is another low for “The View.”

Sheriff’s Deputy Resigns to Avoid Suspension After Failing to Engage Florida School Gunman

Sheriff’s Deputy Resigns to Avoid Suspension After Failing to Engage Florida School Gunman

The sheriff’s deputy who was on duty at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School but failed to go in and confront the gunman has resigned to avoid being suspended.

On February 22 the AP tweeted:

ABC 13 reports that Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel confirmed the deputy, Scott Peterson, was no longer with the Sheriff’s department.

Israel said he viewed video of the incident, saw Peterson “arrive at the west side of Building 12, take a position” but never go in. As a result, the sheriff’s office moved to suspend Peterson, who resigned before the suspension could take place.

School Shooting Survivor Says He Was Given Scripted Questions for CNN Town Hall

As could have been expected the big CNN town hall featuring survivors of the mass shooting at Florida’s Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School was a rousing success in terms of propaganda.

From the moment that it was announced that the self-proclaimed “most trusted name in news” would be featuring students who survived that killing spree of a deranged individual, teachers, and parents it was clear that the event would be a one-sided chance for anti-gun activists to draw a national TV audience by exploiting kids to do so.

CNN is something that has never been seen in the domestic media and is more in line with state-run television in an authoritarian country like North Korea or out of a dystopian George Orwell novel. So intense is the propaganda, so prevalent the lies and so despicable the anchors that it wouldn’t be a reach to say that it is decidedly un-American.

But millions of people still believe what they are seeing from a network that established its brand in the 1980s and no longer resembles that network, not even remotely.

While he will be smeared or ignored by the rest of the media echo chamber today, one survivor of the Parkland massacre went to local media with his not so shocking revelation that instead of his own material which he had prepared for the show that CNN had given him scripted questions to ask.

Via Real Clear Politics “Shooting Survivor: CNN Gave Me “Scripted Question” After Denying Question About Armed Guards”:

Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School student Colton Haab said he was approached by CNN to ask a question at Wednesday night’s town hall but decided not to after the network gave him a “scripted question,” quashing one he wrote himself. Haab, a member of the Junior ROTC shielded students while the school was under attack from the shooter, said he was going to ask about using veterans as armed security guards.

“CNN had originally asked me to write a speech and questions and it ended up being all scripted,” Haab told WPLG-TV.

CNN aired a town hall on the Florida school shooting with Sens. Marco Rubio (R-FL) and Bill Nelson (D-FL) that included NRA’s Dana Loesch and Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel that was moderated by Jake Tapper. Students and parents asked questions about gun control and school safety.

“I expected to be able to ask my questions and give my opinion on my questions,” Haab said.

“Colton Haab, a member of the Junior ROTC who shielded classmates in the midst of terror says he did not get to share his experience,” WPLG’s Janine Stanwood explained.

“Colton wrote questions about school safety, suggested using veterans as armed school security guards but claims CNN wanted him to ask a scripted question instead so he decided not to go,” Stanwood reported.

Haab was one of the heroes of that day so his story should be taken seriously. CNN itself was promoting him along with the others but unlike the students who advance the agenda, he was left out.

UPDATE: CNN released the following statement Thursday morning:

CNN did not, and does not, script any questions for town hall meetings, ever.

Haab was one of the heroes of that day so his story should be taken seriously.

CNN itself was promoting him along with the others but unlike the students who advance the agenda, he was left out because he refused to participate in what was nothing more than a psyops campaign to use children as the spearhead for the ultimate disarmament of law-abiding Americans.

It was a farce but what else can be expected from CNN?

School deputy was just fired over what he did during the Florida shooting, and it’s terrible

A deputy admitted that he didn’t enter the Florida school during the time that Nikolas Cruz was murdering 17 people, and he was suspended without pay pending an investigation.

Here’s what he did

Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel said Thursday that the school resource deputy, Scot Peterson, resigned after the action was taken against him.

Cruz’s attack on his fellow students lasted about four minutes, and the deputy didn’t do anything to stop him during that time.

Sheriff Israel said that the deputy was interviewed about his lack of action, and that video surveillance was taken into account when he made the decision to suspend him.

Peterson was on campus, responded to the shooting, but never went inside to accost the shooter, and instead took up a position outside.

Sheriff Israel said that the deputy should have “went in, addressed the killer, killed the killer.”

“He was armed,” Israel said, “he was in uniform, after seeing video, witness statements, and Scot Peterson’s very own statement, I decided, this morning, to suspend Scot Peterson without pay, pending an internal investigation.”

“As is his right, Scot Peterson chose to resign,” he continued, “because he has the necessary time with the agency and meets the requirements of retirement, he resigned and slash retired.”

“The investigation will continue,” he explained. “We’re not going to disclose the video at this time, and we may never disclose the video depending on the prosecution and the criminal case.”

“But what I saw was, a deputy arrive at the west side of building 12, take up a position, and he never went in,” he concluded.

Shooting Survivor Quit CNN Town Hall After Refusing to Ask ‘Scripted’ Question

Shooting Survivor Quit CNN Town Hall After Refusing to Ask ‘Scripted’ Question

Colton Haab, a student who survived last week’s mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, refused to participate in a CNN Town Hall on Wednesday night after he was told to ask a “scripted” question.

Haab, a junior at the high school, told Fort Lauderdale ABC affiliate WPLG that CNN invited him to speak at the televised town hall in nearby Sunrise, Florida, and that he and his parents had dressed up for the occasion.

But CNN then told Haab he would have to read a question that CNN had prepared for him:

Haab: I expected to be able to ask my questions and give my opinion on my questions.

Reporter Janine Stanwood: But Colton Haab, a member of the Junior ROTC, who shielded classmates in the midst of terror, says he did not get to share his experience.

Haab: CNN had originally asked me to write a speech and questions, and it ended up being all scripted.

Stanwood: Colton wrote questions about school safety, suggested using veterans as armed school security guards, but claims CNN wanted him to ask a scripted question instead. So he decided not to go.

Haab: I don’t think that it’s going to get anything accomplished. It’s not going to ask the true questions that all the parents and teachers and students have.

The town hall was overwhelmingly stacked in favor of gun control. Two students whom CNN chose to ask questions attacked National Rifle Association spokesperson Dana Loesch as a bad mother. CNN’s Jake Tapper, who moderated the event, did not defend Loesch.

Father of Slain High School Student Says It’s Past Time to Protect Children in Schools: ‘I’m Pissed’

The father of a student killed in last week’s mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Florida told President Donald Trump he was "pissed" and it was time for the country to come together and protect the nation’s children.

Speaking at a listening session held at the White House for those affected by mass shootings, Andrew Pollack spoke about the death of his daughter Meadow, who was shot nine times on the Parkland school’s third floor last week.

"We as a country failed our children. This shouldn’t happen," he said. "We go to the airport. I can’t get on a plane with a bottle of water, but … some animal can walk into a school and shoot our children. It’s just not right, and we need to come together as a country and work on what’s important, and that’s protecting our children in the schools."

He described himself as "very angry."

"It stops here with this administration and me. I’m not going to sleep until it’s fixed. Mr. President, we’re going to fix it," he said, as Trump gave him a thumbs-up in response.

Pollack asked those watching to consider his sons who were forced to bury their sister.

"It should have been one school shooting, and we should have fixed it! And I’m pissed," he said. "Because my daughter I’m not going to see again. She’s not here."

Pollack said it’s "not about gun laws right now," but rather about school safety.

"That’s another fight, another battle. Let’s fix the schools, and then you guys can battle it out, whatever you want," he said.

MSNBC Trots Out Would-Be School Shooter in Disgusting Attempt to Push Gun Control

If it often seems that there is no level the Democrat-aligned media won’t stoop to in order to promote its leftist agenda.

Case in point has been the aftermath of the tragic mass shooting at a school in Parkland, Florida during which the media has heaped lavish praise and copious coverage upon advocate-in-training teenagers who demand stricter gun control measures be implemented.

Along those lines, The Washington Free Beacon took note of a recent guest who was invited on MSNBC host Katy Tur’s program, a grown man in Colorado who claimed to have been “almost a school shooter” when he was a high school student in the mid-1990s.

That man is named Aaron Stark, and Tur read on-air excerpts of an open letter he recently published which detailed his struggle with suicidal depression in his teenage years which included a fascination with weapons.

“I was almost a school shooter,” Stark wrote. “I am not a school shooter because I didn’t have access to guns. Guns don’t kill people, people kill people. But people with guns kill lots of people.”

Conservative Tribune Daily Email

Thanks For Subscribing!

After Tur read some of his letter and introduced him on the program, she asked for his opinion on what should be done in order to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.

“I think we really need to have a hard look at the effect the guns have,” Stark replied. “Do we really need to have assault weapons? Do we really need to have people go buy an AR-15 when they’re not able to even buy a pistol because they won’t pass the background checks?”

Side note: The Second Amendment is part of the Bill of Rights, not the Bill of Needs. Furthermore, the Florida shooter passed his background check to purchase a semi-automatic rifle because he had never been arrested, charged with a crime or judged as mentally unfit.

On top of that, there is a minimum age of 21 to purchase handguns, as opposed to a minimum age of 18 for rifles and shotguns, so pretty much that entire statement by Stark is baseless and without merit.

Do you stand firm on the Second Amendment, no matter what emotional story the liberal media may throw your way?

But back to the interview of the would-be school shooter who claimed he ended up not being one because he didn’t have access to “assault weapons” — he did speak about at least one thing which definitely holds merit and should be heeded … a lack of “love” and outreach in our society from friends and family for troubled individuals, which is what he also credits — aside from no firearms access — for preventing him from acting out on his school shooting fantasies.

Townhall noted that prior to that segment on the program, Katy Tur set the false premise for viewers of having to choose which was more valuable to people, children or guns, as if both were mutually exclusive and a gun-owner couldn’t love children or a loving parent couldn’t own guns.

This interview reeked of desperation on the part of MSNBC in its bid to further the gun control narrative, exploiting the history of an obviously troubled young man who considered — but never acted upon — shooting up his school as a depressed and suicidal teenager.

RELATED: Florida Law Could Severely Punish Mayor for Pushing Gun Control

Unfortunately for MSNBC and the rest of the would-be gun grabbers in the liberal media, pro-gun advocates know how this game is played and aren’t willing to give even an inch in response to their emotion-based harangues, as we know that control freaks will simply keep grabbing for more.

Today it is the AR-15-style semi-auto rifle. Tomorrow it will be the so-called “high-capacity” magazines most rifles and handguns come equipped with standard, and then they will move on to large-caliber bolt-action hunting rifles and shotguns, until we have slid to the bottom of this slippery slope and they have, piece by piece, implemented the total control over the population they so desire.

Please share this story on social media so everyone can see how MSNBC just trotted out a self-proclaimed “almost” school shooter.

Liberal Freakout: Congress Blindsides Obama Administration With Formal Investigation

Barack Obama’s legacy was already on thin ice after many of his signature programs were dismantled during President Trump’s first year in office, and concerns over bias emerged within the Department of Justice.

Now, another blow to the 44th president’s White House tenure has come to light. While the bias concerns at the DOJ continue, another scandal regarding impartiality is gaining momentum, but this time it’s within a federal agency called the Chemical Safety Board.

A House investigative subcommittee is directing the EPA to investigate one of the officials Obama appointed while in office, after anti-lobbying laws were allegedly violated and the liberal ally tried to influence decision making in Washington.

“Chemical Safety Board (CSB) member Rick Engler worked with union activists to promote a grassroots campaign to keep the agency from losing its funding,” reported The Daily Caller in May of 2017. “Engler’s emails further raise concerns about the CSB’s impartiality.”

The CSB dates back to the 1990s, and is set up to investigate industrial chemical disasters within the United States. That obscure agency has been on the chopping block since Donald Trump took office, however.

Conservative Tribune Daily Email

Thanks For Subscribing!

“President Donald Trump’s 2018 budget proposal eliminated the CSB. Congress ended up funding the CSB, but Trump’s 2019 budget plan again calls for eliminating the CSB,” explained the Caller in an updated report.

Since the story first broke last year, the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform has dug deeper into the claims of illegal lobbying by the Obama appointee, and that inquiry just took a very serious turn.

“If substantiated, these actions appear to implicate federal provisions restricting lobbying activities by federal officials,” Congressman Blake Farenthold wrote in a letter sent earlier this week.

“In light of this possible breach of federal anti-lobbying provisions, I request that your office investigate this matter and advise the committee as to whether these actions by a CSB board member violated any federal law or practice,” the Government Reform Committee member declared to the inspector general of the EPA.

Did this official violate the law by lobbying to influence government decisions?

The Anti-Lobbying Act “prohibits substantial ‘grass roots’ lobbying campaigns … designed to encourage members of the public to pressure members of Congress to support Administration or Department legislative or appropriations proposals,” in the words of the Department of Justice.

In simple terms, this means that government officials are limited in the kinds of campaigning or lobbying they can do, in order to stay reasonably unbiased as public servants.

However, it isn’t clear if Rick Engler would be actually charged with breaking anti-lobbying laws even if the inquiry finds wrongdoing.

“The situation certainly is a violation of the spirit of the Anti-Lobbying Act but probably does not rise to the level to meet DOJ standards as an actual violation of the Act,” legal expert Craig Holman explained to The Daily Caller.

RELATED: Watch: NY Liberals Can’t Tell the Difference Between Democrats and Communists

Once again, the American people are seeing just how biased and politically motivated officials within Washington truly are. People like Engler are appointed and paid with taxpayer money to do specific jobs, not to lobby for their own political gain.

This may not be the most groundbreaking scandal in the country, but it’s yet another example of why the phrase “drain the swamp” resonated with so many people. Bureaucrats need to be held accountable… even if it takes years to do it.

Poll of Republican Voters: Reducing Immigration More Important than Replacing Obamacare, Destroying ISIS

Poll of Republican Voters: Reducing Immigration More Important than Replacing Obamacare, Destroying ISIS

Reducing the overall number of illegal and legal immigrants flooding into the United States every year is the second biggest priority for Republican voters.

A new poll by Harvard-Harris shows widespread support for President Trump’s “America First” immigration agenda, which strives to reduce legal and illegal immigration to raise the wages and quality of life for America’s working and middle class, who have suffered under decades of poor job growth, stagnant wages, and increased public costs to offset the importation of millions of low-skilled foreign nationals.

According to the Harvard-Harris poll, 16 percent of Republican voters said reducing overall immigration levels to the U.S. should be a top priority for Trump and Congress.

This makes reducing immigration a bigger priority for Republican voters than repealing and replacing Obamacare, destroying ISIS, and passing an infrastructure bill.

The only issue that outpaces reducing immigration levels as the biggest priority for Republican voters is stimulating American jobs, which can be directly tied to immigration.

Likewise, 18 percent of Trump voters said reducing overall immigration levels to the U.S. should be a top priority for Trump and Congress. For Trump voters, reducing immigration to the country is more important than repealing and replacing Obamacare, passing tax reform, and even building a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border to help stem illegal immigration.

The Harvard-Harris poll is in step with last month’s immigration polling data from the firm, which found overwhelming support for Trump’s reduce-immigration-to-aid-Americans agenda.

For example, last month’s poll found that more Americans support zero immigration to the U.S. than they support current legal immigration levels, whereby between one to 1.5 million mostly low-skilled legal immigrants are admitted to the country every year.

The poll found that about 12 percent wanted legal immigration levels increased beyond the current rate of immigration to the country, while the majority of Americans, about 81 percent, said they wanted legal immigration levels reduced to between zero and less than one million legal immigrants a year.

Likewise, nearly 80 percent of Americans said they supported Trump’s plan to change the country’s immigration system to one based on merit, skills, and English proficiency, rather than the current system where foreign nationals with family members living in the U.S. are given priority.

The poll also revealed that black Americans are the most supportive demographic group of drastically reducing legal immigration levels, as Trump and his allies like Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) and Sen. David Perdue (R-GA) have proposed.

When asked, “In your opinion, about how many legal immigrants should be admitted to the U.S. each year,” 48 percent of black Americans said they would like to see between one and 250,000 legal immigrants brought to the U.S. a year.

Under Trump’s efforts to ramp up interior immigration enforcement — where in Fiscal Year 2017 deportations of illegal aliens living throughout the U.S. increased by nearly 40 percent, have been beneficial to America’s working and middle class.

For example, the strict immigration enforcement thus far has led to historic wage increases for American workers in the construction industry, the garment industry, for workers employed at small businesses, and black Americans.

A reduction in immigration would potentially mean even higher wages for American workers who would see less competition with cheaper, foreign workers and a less saturated labor market where there are more workers than there are U.S. jobs.

Opponents of reducing immigration levels include the establishment media, the billionaire GOP mega-donors the Koch brothers, the Democratic Party, the Republican establishment, the Bush dynasty, corporate interests, and the open borders lobby.

Every year, the U.S. admits more than 1.5 foreign nationals, with the vast majority deriving from family-based immigration known as “chain migration.” In 2016, the legal and illegal immigrant population reached a record high 44 million. By 2023, the Center for Immigration Studies estimates that the legal and illegal immigrant population of the U.S. will make up nearly 15 percent of the entire U.S. population.
