Unbeknownst to most Americans, every year the body parts of an untold number of deceased Americans are shipped across the world in containers like those on a Chinese freighter that departed from South Carolina last summer.

According to an investigation by Reuters, that particular Hong Kong-flagged cargo ship had been “bound for Europe” and “included about 6,000 pounds of human remains valued at $67,204.”

As shocking and horrific as this sounds, it’s perfectly legal and all part of a system wherein U.S. businesses dissect the bodies of “altruistic donors” and then ship them overseas “to medical training and research companies.”

It’s for science, basically, though there’s just one nagging caveat: Not everyone is aware that, when they sign a consent form to allow their bodies to be dissected posthumously for scientific purposes, chances are their bodies “might be dismembered and sent to the far reaches of the globe.”

“There are people who wouldn’t necessarily mind where the specimens were sent if they were fully informed,” remarked Brandi Schmitt, who directs the University of California system’s anatomical donation program. “But clearly there are plenty of donors that do mind and that don’t feel like they’re getting enough information.”

Particularly family members of the deceased, who often find out later that, “Hey, your brother’s (or sister’s or mother or whomever’s) body parts are now being examined and used for science in Germany or Israel, to name a few.”

Reuters notes that since 2008, U.S. companies that specialize in “body brokering” have exported human remains “to at least 45 countries, including Italy, Israel, Mexico, China, Venezuela and Saudi Arabia.”

“Whole bodies are studied at Caribbean-based medical schools. Plastic surgeons in Germany use heads from dead Americans to practice new techniques. Thousands of parts are shipped overseas annually; a precise number cannot be calculated because no agency tracks industry exports.”

It’s not the worse thing in the world, though clearly this system could use a lot more transparency, or so thinks Marie Gallegos, whose husband’s head was reportedly shipped to a dental school in Israel months after his death last May.

She told Reuters that after her husband’s death, a member of the so-called Donate Network of Arizona contacted her to ask for permission to use her husband’s body for science. What the representative neglected to mention was the fine print.

“She recalled signing two consent forms, one for Donate Network and one for the company she was told would handle the cremation, United Tissue Network. The UTN form authorized use of her husband’s body parts ‘both domestically and internationally,’” Reuters reported.

When she received her body’s ashes later that summer, she didn’t realize they didn’t include those of her husband’s head.

“Had I known that my husband’s head was over there (in Israel), I would have waited to have the ceremony. If they really wanted my husband’s body for these purposes, they should have told me upfront and verbally,” Gallegos said.

Another big problem with this system is a glaring lack of regulation. As noted by Reuters, “the body donation industry is so lightly regulated in the United States that almost anyone can legally buy, sell or lease body parts.”

And this, ladies and gentlemen, is why you should think carefully before you reply the next time someone asks you, “Can you give me a hand?”

During a discussion Thursday evening about Macy’s recent decision to launch a Muslim-centric clothing line featuring hijabs, Fox News host Tucker Carlson grilled a feminist guest over her belief that hijabs and other modest items of apparel are somehow “empowering” to women.

“The point of Islamic clothing is to promote modesty among women … it’s a central part of Islamic culture. So are you for that? Do you think women should be coerced to dress modestly? Is that a feminist goal?” Carlson asked point-blank.

His guest, feminist Sonia Ossorio of the National Organization for Women, tried to deflect by arguing women should be permitted the right to wear anything they desire, according to the Independent Journal Review.

“I think what a feminist goal is is for women to be in control of their lives and their destinies and to have choices, so whether a woman wants to wear a hijab or she doesn’t is really not the point,” she replied.

Just to be clear, women in the United States already enjoy this right — as well as many others — because Americans believe in “liberty and justice for all.” Moreover, no reasonable conservative opposes Macy’s decision to sell hijabs.

What concerns conservatives such as Carlson is the lack of women’s rights in Islamic countries, where for the record women must dress modestly lest they be raped, imprisoned or even stoned to death.

But even more appalling is how Western feminists such as Ossorio have gleefully adopted hijabs “as a symbol of resistance.”

“Here you have in the United States, women who had never donned a hijab in their entire life, and marched over to JFK airport at the time of the Trump travel ban and started wearing hijabs as a symbol of resistance, in protest to that, and at the same time, so they’re wearing them as a symbol of empowerment,” Ossorio explained.

In rebuttal, Carlson asked whether it would be equally “empowering” were Macy’s to sell a line of “Chinese foot-binding shoes” like those forced upon young Chinese girls up until the early 20th century.

“Is there anything that’s not empowering?” he added.

How about female genital mutilation? Is there anything empowering about that, Carlson asked.

Again, there’s nothing wrong with women wearing hijabs of their own volition. It’s just odd to see spoiled and entitled Western feminists donning hijabs as symbols of “resistance,” all while they ignore the genuine hell being experienced by their counterparts in the Islamic world.

Counterparts such as the Iranian woman in the video below “who threw off her veil in front of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, and stood defiantly as freedom fighters massed around her,” as reported by The Daily Wire in December:

Instead of highlighting this woman’s struggle (FYI, she was later arrested for this stunt) feminists were busy “gearing up for a repeat of last year’s ‘Women’s March’” against President Donald Trump — a man whom countless American women helped elect into office in 2016.

Yet feminists like Ossorio find it hard to understand why so few people take them seriously anymore. Gee, what could it possible be!?

In what could be a sign of an impending shakeup at the Justice Department, the number three official has announced her resignation for a corporate job at Walmart.

On Friday it was reported that Rachel Brand who was next in line behind slippery Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein – the man who unleashed dirty cop “Bob” Mueller on Trump – is leaving to accept her “dream job” at the global retail goliath’s corporate HQ where she will become the top legal official.

Ms. Brand has only been on the job since last May and some of the Never Trumpers are already panicking that her departure may be a signal that Mueller and his hit team may be on borrowed time.

Like William Kristol, a venomous pit viper who was the co-founder of the infamous neocon think tank The Project for the New American Century (PNAC) and now at the Russian conspiracy mill The Alliance for Securing Democracy.

It’s unusual for serious and capable people to leave a senior government position after 9 months. Rachel Brand is a serious and capable person. She surely found working in the Trump DOJ trying. But the question is whether she knew or expected something worse to be coming.

The New York Times broke the news of Brand’s new gig in the story “No. 3 Official at the Justice Department Is Stepping Down”:

Rachel L. Brand, the No. 3 official at the Justice Department, plans to step down after nine months on the job as the country’s top law enforcement agency has been under attack by President Trump, according to two people briefed on her decision.

Ms. Brand’s profile had risen in part because she is next in the line of succession behind the deputy attorney general, Rod J. Rosenstein, who is overseeing the special counsel’s inquiry into Russian influence in the 2016 election. Mr. Trump, who has called the investigation a witch hunt, has considered firing Mr. Rosenstein.

Such a move could have put her in charge of the special counsel and, by extension, left her in the cross hairs of the president.

Ms. Brand, who became the associate attorney general in May, will become the global governance director at Walmart, the company’s top legal position, according to people briefed on her move. She has held politically appointed positions in the past three presidential administrations.

In her current job, she reports directly to Mr. Rosenstein and Jeff Sessions, the attorney general, who has recused himself from the Russia investigation.

It is entirely possible that Brand really is just moving onto to a better paying corporate gig but if you can read the tea leaves it is possible that she is getting the hell out of Dodge before the shit hits the fan.

The massive and likely incendiary DOJ Inspector General’s report is set to be out in March and could lead to a thorough housecleaning at both the Justice Department and the FBI.
