Antifa Makes Columbus Day Announcement, Your Neighborhood Could Be on Their Hit List

Advertisement – story continues below

The veritable terrorist group antifa issued a call to action late last month urging its members across the nation to “decorate” their neighborhoods — including maybe even yours — on Columbus Day by, among other things, defacing and potentially destroying allegedly offensive statues and monuments.

“For the occasion of Columbus Day, October 9th, one of the most vile ‘holidays’ of the year, the Revolutionary Abolitionist Movement is calling for collectives all over the country to take action against this day and in support of indigenous people in the US and abroad who have been victims of colonialism and genocide,” they wrote in a news release.

The Revolutionary Abolitionist Movement is apparently one sect of the wider antifa movement that bills itself as “a political movement dedicated to freeing people from bondage and building resistance in the United States.” They’re in fact likely nothing more than unemployed losers desperate to make the “man” pay for the miserable circumstances of their sad lives.

Posted with the release was the following disturbing video that depicts hysterical antifa thugs vandalizing pretty much anything in their sight:

VIDEO

Moreover, RAM urged antifa members to snap pictures of their Columbus Day actions and post them to social media with the following two hashtags: #F–kColumbusDay and #DestroyColonialism.

Never mind the fact that without colonialism, America as we know it wouldn’t even exist. And never mind also that according to Portland State University political science professor Bruce Gilley, countries that were colonized by Europe “did better” than those that weren’t.

He revealed that and much more in a recent essay that was later pulled from a scholarly journal because it wound up offending too many emotionally sensitive snowflakes, as reported by The Washington Post.

Dovetailing back to antifa’s planned protests, if you live in a neighborhood that contains any sort of pro-American statues, monuments, etc., keep an eye out today, because it’s possible antifa thugs may strike.

And be especially vigilant if you happen to wear a MAGA hat, because those things are known to drive these worthless, whiny babies into fits of rage.

By roughly 10:30 a.m., reports had already surfaced from several parts of the country of antifa thugs vandalizing Columbus Day statues.

“Police have stepped up security after two Christopher Columbus statues were vandalized with red paint in Connecticut,” the New York Post reported earlier in the morning.

Ex-NYT Reporter: I Had the Weinstein Story in 2004. Celebrities, NYT Execs Killed It.

On Sunday night, The Wrap’s Sharon Waxman expanded on something she noted in passing during a Thursday interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper that, as a New York Times reporter in 2004, she had uncovered allegations of sexual misconduct by Harvey Weinstein but was thwarted by The Times itself.

Despite “traveling to two countries and overcoming immense challenges to confirm at least part of the story that wound up running last week,” Weinstein’s advertising presence gutted Waxman’s work, along with phone calls from Russell Crowe and Matt Damon.

Waxman began by recapping the events prior to Weinstein’s ouster from his own company and thanking current Times reporters Jodi Kantor and Megan Twohey for taking what was likely “a long and difficult road” to publishing a story on Weinstein’s disgusting behavior.

The praise stopped there. Waxman moved to go after The Times and media writer Jim Rutenberg:

But I simply gagged when I read Jim Rutenberg’s sanctimonious piece on Saturday about the “media enablers” who kept this story from the public for decades.

“Until now,” he puffed, “no journalistic outfit had been able, or perhaps willing, to nail the details and hit publish.”

That’s right, Jim. No one — including The New York Times.

In 2004, I was still a fairly new reporter at The New York Times when I got the green light to look into oft-repeated allegations of sexual misconduct by Weinstein. It was believed that many occurred in Europe during festivals and other business trips there.

Waxman explained that she “traveled to Rome and tracked down the man who held the plum position of running Miramax Italy” and had learned that then-Miramax Italy head Fabrizio Lombardo “had no film experience and his real job was to take care of Weinstein’s women needs, among other things.”

“I also tracked down a woman in London who had been paid off after an unwanted sexual encounter with Weinstein. She was terrified to speak because of her non-disclosure agreement, but at least we had evidence of a pay-off,” Waxman added.

Of course, Waxman’s hard work was tossed aside “[a]fter intense pressure from Weinstein, which included having Matt Damon and Russell Crowe call me directly to vouch for Lombardo and unknown discussions well above my head at the Times, the story was gutted.”

<<< Please support MRC’s NewsBusters team with a tax-deductible contribution today. >>>

She was told that Weinstein himself had visited the paper “to make his displeasure known” and his influence as “a major advertiser in the Times, and that he was a powerful person overall” even though “I had the facts.”

She then provided more details of this cover-up:

The story was stripped of any reference to sexual favors or coercion and buried on the inside of the Culture section, an obscure story about Miramax firing an Italian executive. Who cared?

The Times’ then-culture editor Jon Landman, now an editor-at-large for Bloomberg, thought the story was unimportant, asking me why it mattered.

“He’s not a publicly elected official,” he told me.  I explained, to no avail, that a public company would certainly have a problem with a procurer on the payroll for hundreds of thousands of dollars. At the time, Disney told me they had no idea Lombardo existed.

A spokeswoman for the Times had no comment on Sunday.

I was devastated after traveling to two countries and overcoming immense challenges to confirm at least part of the story that wound up running last week, more than a decade later. I had met in person with a woman who said she’d been paid off for an unwanted sexual encounter and thus proved she existed.

Waxman added an update after publication of her article to explain why she didn’t continue to pursue the Weinstein story. She stated that was a “[f]air question” and no other leads had popped up in her reporting.

She concluded with this mic drop:

Today I wonder: If this story had come to light at the time, would Weinstein have continued his behavior for another decade, evidenced by the scathing 2015 memo by former staffer Lauren O’Connor unearthed by Kantor and Twohey.

Writes Rutenberg: “Mr. Weinstein had his own enablers. He built his empire on a pile of positive press clippings that, before the internet era, could have reached the moon.”

The New York Times was one of those enablers. So pardon me for having a deeply ambivalent response about the current heroism of the Times.

California: No Longer A Felony To Knowingly Expose Others To HIV

California has somehow become even more radical in its “soft on crime” approach. The state has now lessened the punishment for knowingly exposing someone else to HIV.

Now, if you knowingly expose a partner to HIV in California, the crime is a mere misdemeanor rather than a felony. Per The Los Angeles Times:

Gov. Jerry Brown signed a bill Friday that lowers from a felony to a misdemeanor the crime of knowingly exposing a sexual partner to HIV without disclosing the infection.

Moreover, the measure is expanded to knowingly giving HIV-positive blood to a blood bank.

The extreme move is, of course, being made under the guise of tolerance.

“Today California took a major step toward treating HIV as a public health issue, instead of treating people living with HIV as criminals,” said Democratic state Sen. Scott Wiener. “HIV should be treated like all other serious infectious diseases, and that’s what SB 239 does.”

Although people still die from AIDS, exposing people to HIV without their knowledge or consent was justified because “Modern medicine allows those with HIV to live longer lives and nearly eliminates the possibility of transmission,” per Weiner and Democratic Assemblyman Todd Gloria.

This destructive, immoral move is apparently not isolated to the loons in California. Planned Parenthood, America’s largest abortion mill and one of the most powerful unofficial arms of the Democratic Party, claimed not disclosing HIV to partners was a “right.”

The Daily Wire reported in December of 2016:

Kimberly Ells of The Federalist exposed the tax-dollar funded corporation for their despicable view, which they advocate via literature like the International Planned Parenthood Federation’s booklet, directed toward the HIV-positive youth in America, called “Healthy, Happy and Hot”:

It says, “Young people living with HIV have the right to decide if, when, and how to disclose their HIV status.” It continues: “Sharing your HIV status is called disclosure. Your decision about whether to disclose may change with different people and situations. You have the right to decide if, when, and how to disclose your HIV status.”

Minnesota man rescues kidnapped girl, gives $7K reward to her family

A Minnesota farmer who rescued an abducted teenage girl gave the reward money to her family on Friday, according to the Twin Cities Pioneer Press.

The kidnapping

The Twin Cities Pioneer Press reported that the victim, Jasmine Block, 15, was held captive by three men for 29 days.

“I usually stayed quiet because I was scared they might hit me or do something,” Jasmine told KMSP-TV.

Weeks after she was kidnapped, the girl escaped. She knocked on nearby doors for help, but when no one answered, she swam across a lake to evade her captors.

What happened?

On Sept. 5, Earl Melchert, an employee of Elbow Lake Co-op Grain, was working near his house when he made a last-minute decision to return home to pick something up, according to the Twin Cities Pioneer Press.

“I would have been [at home] about a minute,” Melchert said. “But I happened to look out and I saw a speck. Eventually, she got close to me and I said, ‘Oh my gosh, it’s a woman.’ Then pretty soon I said, ‘No, it’s a young girl.’

Melchert said he recognized the kidnapping victim from news reports.

“I knew it was her as soon as I saw her face,” he said.

Melchert said he brought the girl into his truck and called 911.

“I was in the right place at the right time,” he said. “I did what I had to do.”

As Melchert drove Jasmine to the authorities, she saw a car belonging to one of the three men now charged with the crime. They were arrested the same day she was rescued.

What did he do with the reward?

The Twin Cities Pioneer Press reported that while Jasmine was missing, her family and an anonymous donor pooled together a $7,000 reward for information leading to her safe return. Police decided Jasmine’s rescuer should receive the award.

However, at a meeting at the Alexandria Police Department on Friday, Melchert turned down the money, giving it to Jasmine and her mother instead.

“The reward money means absolutely nothing to me,” Melchert said. “I want to present this money to you and Jasmine. You guys deserve it.”

Sarah Block, Jasmine’s mother, said Melchert is “really a hero for us.”

“We wanted to thank him. … He didn’t have to help her and he did. He risked a lot of things and put himself in danger,” she said.

Alexandria, Minnesota, police called the gesture “an incredible example of kindness” in a Facebook post.

“Thank you Earl, it is people like you that make this world a better place,” the police added. “Have a great day everyone and please remember to be kind to one another.”

How is Jasmine recovering?

“Sometimes [I feel] good,” Jasmine told KMSP. “Sometimes not great. Like sometimes, I have problems sleeping because I close my eyes and I see their faces. I’m scared to sleep because I might have bad nightmares.”

Sarah Block told KMSP, “I think she’s a warrior.”

“She’s probably the strongest person I have ever known,” she said.

Block told the Twin Cities Pioneer Press that her daughter’s life is slowly returning to normal.

“Jasmine is in school and they’re adding more classes,” she said. “She has her therapy dog and is playing with her friends again. Things are looking up.”

Mattis Tells Military to ‘Be Ready’ Regarding North Korea

Secretary of Defense James Mattis on Monday urged the U.S. military to "be ready" regarding the nuclear threat posed by North Korea so President Donald Trump can employ military options if necessary.

"What can the U.S. military do to lessen the likelihood of conflict on the Korean peninsula?" a questioner asked at the Association of the U.S. Army’s annual meeting.

Mattis said the government is currently using a "diplomatically led, economic sanction-buttressed effort" to try to deter North Korea from its nuclear ambitions but said the future is unpredictable.

"Now what does the future hold? Neither you nor I can say, so there’s one thing the U.S. Army can do, and that is you have got to be ready to ensure that we have military options that our president can employ if needed," Mattis said.

Mattis again said the effort to stop North Korea is diplomatically led, touting the United Nations Security Council’s recent unanimous votes to impose further sanctions against the rogue country for its belligerent behavior.

"The international community has spoken, but that means the U.S. Army must stand ready," Mattis said. "So if you’re ready, that’s your duty at this point in time."

Trump tweeted again about ongoing tensions between the U.S. and North Korea on Monday, saying that giving the country billions of dollars over the past 25 years did not work. Trump has warned North Korean leader Kim Jong Un that his country will face destruction if it ever acts on any of its nuclear threats against the U.S. or its allies.

Hypocrisy Alert: Today’s Trump Bashing Media Thought It Was Awful to Bash Obama in 2009

Over the past several months, journalists have had no qualms about attacking President Trump on a deeply personal level, calling him an “embarrassing” “unhinged” “liar,” a “sociopath” and a “madman” presiding over a “malignant presidency.”

But eight years ago, many of these same reporters were offended at criticism of Barack Obama and his policies, scorning the “mean,” “ugly,” “offensive” “vitriol” and “idiot talk” hurled at the last President during the same months of his term.

While the media have given plenty of oxygen to anti-Trump protests since his first day in office, the Tea Party protests against Obama in 2009 were disparaged as “orchestrated,” “AstroTurf,” and criticism of ObamaCare was portrayed as a consequence of racist unwillingness to accept a black President.

Today’s journalists see it as a badge of professionalism to harass Trump and his spokesmen, but eight years ago some reporters derided talk radio, Fox News and others in the media who failed to get on board the Obama train as peddling “hateful crap” that “borders on sedition.”

Some in the media even suggested that criticism of Obama was threatening “the President’s personal safety,” with New York Times columnist Tom Friedman raising the 1995 assassination of Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin by an extremist: “The parallels to Israel then and America today turn my stomach.”

Eight years later, does anyone in the liberal media worry that their constant negative coverage might be putting President Trump in danger?

Here is a video compilation followed by several transcripts from MRC’s NewsBusters’ archive showing the big difference in how the media, who now disparage President Trump, hated criticism of President Obama eight years ago:

Calling Obama a “Socialist” = “Right-Wing Idiot Talk,” “Old-School Insult”

“Where Obama exudes the new Washington equanimity, [former House Speaker Newt] Gingrich exalts in the old-school insult. He is ruthless in caricaturing anyone who gets in his way as a ‘pagan’ or ‘statist’ or ‘socialist’ or ‘racist’ — all words Newt has hurled in recent days….It is hard to shake the feeling that Gingrich’s new prominence is more a sign of the GOP’s desperation than faith in its future….”
Newsweek’s Howard Fineman writing in the magazine’s June 22, 2009 edition.

“There’s become this new ‘idiot button’ on the right, where you have to punch this button in order to be considered a real conservative now: ‘Obama is a socialist on health care. He’s a socialist. All his fiscal programs are insanely socialistic.’ You have to punch that button….If you don’t talk in that, that right-wing, idiot talk you’re not considered a conservative any more.”
— MSNBC’s Chris Matthews on Hardball, June 16, 2009.

Obama Critics “Push the Boundaries of Decency”

Co-anchor David Shuster: “Remember the old adage about being able to disagree without being disagreeable?”
Co-anchor Tamron Hall: “Yeah, I remember it, but I don’t think a lot of people who listen to, maybe, certain radio stations believe that. Well, six months after President Obama took office, a lot of sociologists and analysts believe that harsh political discourse against him really amped up and people started to push the boundaries of what might be considered decency.”
— Exchange during MSNBC live coverage, July 17, 2009. The on-screen headline read, “Too Much Political Hate?”

Anti-Obama Protests = “Orchestrated” “AstroTurf”

Anchor Charles Gibson: “Members of the House of Representatives are already back in their districts on summer recess, most holding town hall meetings to find out what’s on the voters’ minds, and what they’re hearing is criticism over health care reform. And some of that criticism appears to be orchestrated….”
Correspondent Jake Tapper: “Clearly, some of it is organized. Bob MacGuffie, a grass roots conservative activist wrote a widely circulated memo advising others at town hall meetings to put the Congressman quote, ‘on the defensive with your questions and follow up.’”
— ABC’s World News, August 4, 2009.

“Everywhere a congressperson holds a meeting, apparently, these people show up. Well-dressed, middle-class people in pinks and limes if you will. Who are they? They’ve been called the ‘Brooks Brothers Brigade.’ Who are these people?…Do you think the health insurance companies that have made money for years on health care are the bad guys here? Do you think they’re behind these so-called AstroTurf demonstrations?”
— MSNBC’s Chris Matthews talking about the negative public reaction that some Democratic members of Congress have faced at local town hall meetings, August 4, 2009 Hardball.

“The truth is out about the societal sabotage dressed up as phony protests against health care reform….When Hamas does it or Hezbollah does it, it is called terrorism. Why should Republican lawmakers and the AstroTurf groups organizing on behalf of the health care industry be viewed any differently?”
— MSNBC’s Keith Olbermann talking about anti-ObamaCare protests on Countdown, August 7, 2009.

It Can’t Be Obama’s Policies, So It Must Be Racism

“Is right-wing racism on the rise?…You know, obviously we have got morons like Limbaugh calling Obama an angry black man….I think they are hurting their party and I think we are in a nation tired of hate….I’m going to throw a Jewish slur and call Mr. Limbaugh a putz.”
— Fill-in anchor Donny Deutsch on MSNBC News Live, July 30, 2009.

Wall Street Journal’s Steve Moore: “This is still a pretty conservative country and people are upset about the policies in Washington and they don’t think the politicians are listening.”
Chris Matthews: “Okay, I think, I think some of the people are upset because we have a black President.”
— Talking about the town hall protests on MSNBC’s Hardball, August 11, 2009.

“Look at the image of the Republican Party, all white males with short haircuts. They look sort of angry. No women, no minorities, and it looks like they’ve sort of become unhinged.”
— MSNBC anchor David Shuster during the 4pm ET hour of live coverage, September 10, 2009.

“They’ve waved signs likening President Obama to Hitler and the devil; raised questions about whether he was really born in this country; falsely accused him of planning to set up death panels; decried his speech to students as indoctrination; and called him everything from a ‘fascist’ to a ‘socialist’ to a ‘communist.’ …And all that was before Mr. Obama’s speech was interrupted by a representative who once fought to keep the Confederate flag waving over the South Carolina state house. Add it all up, and some prominent Obama supporters are now saying that it paints a picture of an opposition driven, in part, by a refusal to accept a black President.”
— ABC’s Dan Harris on World News, September 15, 2009.

Critics Need to Shut Up Before Obama Gets Hurt

“We turn now to the contentious debate over President Obama’s health care agenda. The rising anger is now ramping up concerns over the President’s personal safety….”
— ABC’s Bill Weir introducing a story on Good Morning America, August 14, 2009. The on-screen headline: “Anxious Moments; Threats Growing In Health Care Debate?”

Host Chris Matthews: “The activists on radio are not afraid, because they’re not afraid of anything. But at some point, if we have violence in this country against our President of any form or attempt, people are gonna pay for it, the people who have encouraged the craziness….”
The Politico’s Roger Simon: “I agree 100 percent, but the base of the party, the core of the party, likes the clown show….They’re playing with fire.”
— MSNBC’s Hardball, September 22, 2009.

“It seems to me that there is a sort of meanness that’s settled over our political dialogue. It started this summer at these town hall meetings….President Carter is now saying that he thinks it’s racial. Nancy Pelosi says it could be dangerous. What do you think it’s all about?”
— CBS’s Bob Schieffer to President Obama on Face the Nation, September 20, 2009.

“House Speaker Pelosi worried about the opposition, the tone of it, perhaps leading to violence as it did in the ’70s. There’s more recent examples of anti-government violence — occurring even in the mid-’90s. Do you worry about that?”
— David Gregory to Obama on NBC’s Meet the Press, September 20, 2009.

“I was in Israel interviewing Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin just before he was assassinated in 1995….The parallels to Israel then and America today turn my stomach: I have no problem with any of the substantive criticism of President Obama from the right or left. But something very dangerous is happening. Criticism from the far right has begun tipping over into delegitimation and creating the same kind of climate here that existed in Israel on the eve of the Rabin assassination.”
New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman, September 30, 2009.

“Is President Obama at risk, not politically, but physically? Has the political heat over issues big and small gotten so hot, it threatens the President’s life?…Congressman Patrick Kennedy, whose uncles John and Bobby were assassinated, warns that angry opposition to health care reform could lead to violence. There are consequences, he said, to angry rhetoric.”
— Host Anderson Cooper on CNN’s AC360, September 30, 2009.

Still Blaming a “Vast Right Wing Conspiracy”

Moderator David Gregory: “Your wife famously talked about the vast right wing conspiracy targeting you. As you look at this opposition on the right to President Obama, is it still there?”
Former President Bill Clinton: “Oh, you bet. Sure it is.”
— NBC’s Meet the Press, September 27, 2009.

So Much for Sticking Up for Fellow Journalists

“Let me be precise here: Fox News peddles a fair amount of hateful crap. Some of it borders on sedition. Much of it is flat out untrue.”
Time’s Joe Klein on the magazine’s “Swampland” blog, October 23, 2009.

Detroit Firefighter Fired for Bringing ‘Racially Insensitive’ Watermelon to Work

Detroit Firefighter Fired for Bringing ‘Racially Insensitive’ Watermelon to Work

8 Oct, 2017
8 Oct, 2017

A Detroit firefighter was fired before he officially began his first day on the job for bringing a watermelon to work.

Robert Pattison, 41, introduced himself to his fellow firefighters at Engine 55 at the corner of Joy and Southfield in Detroit by bringing a welcome gift, WJBK reported.

Second Battalion Chief Shawn McCarty calls this welcome gift “a tradition” for Engine 55’s firefighters.

“It’s not mandatory, it’s voluntary,” he said. “You come in bearing gifts. The usual gift is doughnuts, but you are allowed to bring whatever you want to bring in.”

Pattison, who was a probationary firefighter, decided to stand out from the crowd and bring a watermelon with a pink bow on top.

Some black firefighters were reportedly offended by Pattison’s gesture since 90 percent of the firefighters at Engine 55 are black.

“When you get your first detail at a firehouse you pretty much know what you are getting yourself into,” said Patrick Trout. “So you would have to say it was probably a bad call.”

McCarty said that some people at the firehouse claim it is “racially insensitive” to bring a watermelon to a firehouse.

Pattison argued that he did not bring in the watermelon as a joke and had no intention of offending his colleagues.

Fire Commissioner Eric Jones said in a statement that Pattison was officially discharged:

There is zero tolerance for discriminatory behavior inside the Detroit Fire Department. On Saturday, Sept. 30, 2017, at Engine 55, a trial firefighter (probationary employee) engaged in unsatisfactory work behavior which was deemed offensive and racially insensitive to members of the Detroit Fire Department. After a thorough investigation, it was determined that the best course of action was to terminate the employment of this probationary employee.

Despite Commissioner Jones’s statement, McCarty does not think Pattison should have lost his job over a watermelon.

“I don’t think so,” McCarty said. “Between what he did and what was there are a few things that could have been done.”

Several left-of-center outlets, including HuffPost and the Atlantic, have documented how watermelons are racist symbols of ages past. They primarily argue that the symbol was meant to characterize black people as unclean, lazy, childish, and an unwanted presence.

Was Vegas an FBI Sting Gone Bad?

Why is there no motive for the Vegas massacre? Why did Stephen Paddock have a secret life?

It is terrible to contemplate, but the possibility that Stephen Paddock was an undercover federal operative or informant cannot be ruled out. He may have been either set up or used by ISIS and/or a federal agency in a scheme that backfired.

Far-Left Crank Dianne Feinstein Admits No Law Could Have Stopped Vegas Shooter (VIDEO)

Far-Left Crank Dianne Feinstein Admits No Law Could Have Stopped Vegas Shooter (VIDEO)

Even far-left crank, Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), one of the loudest gun control voices in Congress, admitted that no law could have stopped Stephen Paddock from killing 59 people and injuring over 500.

Feinstein appeared on ‘Face the Nation’ Sunday morning to discuss legislation to ban the sale of bump stocks, which is a gun modification to increase the rate of fire. Stephen Paddock used bump stocks on his firearms during his shooting rampage.

Host John Dickerson asked the Democrat Senator if there could have been any law passed which would have prevented Paddock from carrying out a mass shooting.

“Could there have been any law passed that would’ve stopped him?” Dickerson asked.

“No, he passed background checks registering for handguns and other weapons on multiple occasions,” Feinstein said.

Ireland honors dead commie Che Guevara

The postal service in the Republic of Ireland has decided to honor psychopathic mass-murdering communist Ernesto “Che” Guevara with a €1.00 (one euro) postage stamp on the 50th anniversary of his death. The decision was approved by Ireland’s cabinet, which didn’t bother to submit the matter to the Oireachtas, the country’s parliament.
