Kevin Hart Pushes Back Against Cancel Culture: ‘We’re Letting People Control and Dictate the Start and Finish of Peoples’ Lives’


Kevin Hart knows what it feels like to be “cancelled.” The actor-comedian was invited to host the Oscars two years ago but was forced to step down before the job even began after the media dug through his old tweets and accused him of homophobia. Now Hart is hitting back at cancel culture’s practitioners, saying they leave no room for growth or redemption.

“We’re letting people control and dictate the start and finish of people’s lives,” Hart said in an interview with Deadline. “If people [have done something] wrong, the idea of canceling those people, and ending whatever career or thing they have…If it’s just over, then what’s the teachable moment for them? What, it’s over, and then you can’t do nothing else for the rest of your life, because you made a mistake?”

Kevin Hart spoke to Deadline to promote his Emmy chances for his Netflix special Kevin Hart: Don’t F**k This Up. But the lengthy conversation turned toward more controversial subjects including cancel culture and his friend Ellen DeGeneres, who is facing her own cancel mob.

Hart said that cancel culture doesn’t allow people to make mistakes and to learn from those mistakes.

What happened to the days of making a mistake, learning from the mistake, not doing that, and educating others on what not to do because of your mistakes? Isn’t that parenting? Isn’t that the world of raising a kid? How do you know what to tell your kid to do or not to do? You have to be in a position of experience to say, “Don’t touch that stove because it’s hot,” because you touched it when it was hot. I can’t give you that lesson if I don’t have the experience. “Hey, in the corporate world, this is how you move and maneuver, and you make sure you do it accordingly. You make sure that you treat every woman with respect. You make sure that you do not act a certain way in this and that,” and it’s based off of what? Knowledge, experience. It’s based off of growth. It’s based off understanding.

Hart is the latest comedian to publicly denounce cancel culture. Fellow funny men Ricky Gervais, Dave Chappelle, John Cleese, and Eddie Murphy have all spoken out against the left-wing phenomenon.

The comedian also struck an apologetic note when asked about the Oscars dust-up from 2018. “I think that my cockiness got in the way,” he said, referring to his initial refusal to apologize and bow to the cancel mob. “I think that my apology for my past remarks would’ve come sooner, instead of me thinking that people still had the wrong idea.”

He added: ” My growth and progression, after mishap and mistake, is one that’s on display as well, but I think here, what helped me was just being vulnerable and real.”

Hart also defended his friend Ellen DeGeneres, whose long-running daytime talk show has come under fire from former employees who alleged a toxic work culture where some were sexually harassed and assaulted. He also defended Nick Cannon, who was recently fired by ViacomCBS for making anti-semitic comments.

“Well, I don’t lose sight of the definition of friendship, and in our business, it’s one thing that people don’t really hold on to,” he said. “When it comes to Nick, and it comes Ellen, I know who they are, and I know who they’ve been for the years that I’ve been around them, and I can only speak to that. Those are two of the most amazing people that I know.”

A suspect was arrested and charged with attempted murder yesterday after repeatedly ramming, and eventually overturning, a Venutra County Sheriff’s Department SUV, according to CBS Los Angeles. 

The Sheriff’s office says that a patrol sergeant was on duty at about 2AM on Los Angeles Avenue when, in what it is calling an "unprovoked attacked" he was rammed twice from behind, forcing the SUV to overturn. 

The sergeant was able to relay to dispatchers which direction the suspect was last seen heading and, as a result, a second deputy was able to find the suspect on eastbound Highway 126. The officer gave chase, which ultimately ended in a crash, and the suspect was taken into custody. 

Capt. Eric Buschow with the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department told KEYT: "As the sergeant accelerated his patrol vehicle the suspect accelerated as well and then rammed into the back of the sergeant’s vehicle a second time. That action spun the patrol car around and caused it to flip onto its side."

"Other deputies in the Fillmore area were able to spot the suspect vehicle in the Santa Paula area, and they tried to stop the vehicle and he didn’t stop and led them on a high-speed pursuit,” said Buschow.

The deputy had minor injuries and the suspect was identified as 29 year old Frankie Avalos. He was charged with suspicion of attempted murder of a police officer.

"He was pulled out of the vehicle by rescue personnel from the fire department and taken to a local hospital. He suffered just minor injuries,” Buschow said of the officer.

Dishonest Susan B. Anthony Society Slams Trump After Pardon — Forgets It Was Republicans and GOP Women Who Led the Suffragette Movement

On Tuesday morning President Trump announced he was pardoning Susan B. Anthony, a leader of the women’s suffrage movement.

Anthony was arrested in 1872 for voting in an election.
At the time only men were allowed to vote.

President Trump made the announcement Tuesday at the White House.

Following the announcement the Susan B. Anthony Museum slammed President Trump for the pardon.
That’s how crazy this group is today.

How sad. And how dishonest.

In 1872, Susan B. Anthony was arrested for casting a ballot in the election two weeks before. In a letter to another famed suffragist, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Anthony boasted of having voted for “the Republican ticket — straight.”

It was Republicans that led the women’s suffragette movement in America.
Just like it was Republicans who put an end to slavery in the United States.

According to Grand Old Partisan on January 29, 1866, GOP leader Thaddeus Stevens presented in the House of Representatives a petition for extending voting rights to women.

The first page was signed by Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Susan B. Anthony, Lucy Stone and other members of the Women’s Loyal National League, a Republican-aligned organization.

“The undersigned, Women of the United States, respectfully ask an Amendment of the Constitution that shall prohibit the several States from disenfranchising any of their citizens on the ground of sex.

The Women’s Rights Convention held in Seneca Falls, N.Y., in 1848 marked the beginning of the women’s suffrage movement in the United States. Two years later there was a nationwide meeting in Worcester, Mass.

By 1870, the Massachusetts Republican State Convention had already seated two suffragists, Lucy Stone and Mary A. Livermore, as delegates. In addition, the National Republican Convention of 1872 approved a resolution favoring the admission of women to “wider fields of usefulness” and added that “the honest demand of this class of citizens for additional rights … should be treated with respectful consideration.”

Wyoming, the state that pioneered women’s suffrage, sent two women, Therese A. Jenkins and Cora G. Carleton, to the 1892 Republican Convention in Minneapolis as alternate delegates. This was the first time women were seated at a Republican National Convention.

This convention was also the first to be addressed by a woman, J. Ellen Foster, chairman of the Women’s Republican Association of the United States. A strong believer in organization, Foster said her association had prepared work plans for women’s involvement in national politics. Copies were given to each delegate and alternate. “We are here to help you,” she declared, “and we are here to stay.”

At the request of Susan B. Anthony, Sen. A.A. Sargent, a Republican from California, introduced the 19th Amendment in 1878. Sargent’s amendment (also known as the Susan B. Anthony Amendment) was defeated four times by a Democrat-controlled Senate. When the Republican Party regained control of Congress in 1919, the Equal Suffrage Amendment finally passed the House in May of that year and in the Senate in June.

When the Amendment was submitted to the states, 26 of the 36 states that ratified it had Republican legislatures. Of the nine states that voted against ratification, eight were Democratic. Twelve states, all Republican, had given women full suffrage before the federal amendment was ratified.

On August 18, 1920, Tennessee became the 36th and final state needed to ratify the amendment. The U.S. Secretary of State certified the amendment on Aug. 26, 1920.

Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg: We’ll Remove Trump Speech When It Violates Our Standards

With only a few months left before the presidential election, Facebook Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg claimed that the platform is prepared to remove posts from President Donald Trump to fight what the platform has deemed misinformation and hate speech. 
Sandberg said in an August 18 interview with Andrea Mitchell on MSNBC that the platform is prepared to take action if the president violates its Community Standards. 
“Well, when the president violates our hate speech standards or gives false information about voter suppression or coronavirus, it comes down,” said Sandberg when asked if Facebook will “be more aggressive about monitoring the president’s speech”.
Sandberg was not asked what would happen if Democratic nominee Joe Biden violated the same rules. 
To be clear, Sandberg did not claim that posts currently on Trump’s Facebook page will be removed, but that his future posts would be taken down if they violated the platform’s rules. Sandberg, and Facebook by extension, appear to assume that these violations are inevitable.
Facebook’s attempts to combat “misinformation” and “hate speech” may appear well- intentioned, but the platform’s so-called fact-checkers are approved by the liberal Soros-funded Poyner Institute. The platform has also not deplatformed T. Raja Singh, an Indian politician who has reportedly called for violence against Rohingya Muslims, according to The Wall Street Journal. 
The platform recently restricted the Committee to Defend the President, a pro-Trump super PAC, from running ads on the platform. It also removed a video of Trump claiming that children are less susceptible to the coronavirus.

Sweden’s Top Epidemiologist Says Just Wearing Face Masks Could Be ‘Very Dangerous’

Sweden’s top infectious disease expert warns that believing face masks will stem the spread of COVID-19 is “very dangerous.”

Anders Tegnell, chief epidemiologist at Sweden’s Public Health Agency — basically the equivalent of U.S. Dr. Anthony Fauci, an immunologist and director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases who serves on the White House Coronavirus Task Force — says there’s no proof masks actually limit the spread of the virus.

“It is very dangerous to believe face masks would change the game when it comes to COVID-19,” Tengell said, according to the Financial Times. “Face masks can be a complement to other things when other things are safely in place,” he said. “But to start with having face masks and then think you can crowd your buses or your shopping malls — that’s definitely a mistake.”

But the U.S. Centers for Disease Control And Prevention (CDC) says just the opposite.

“COVID-19 spreads mainly from person to person through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs, sneezes, talks, or raises their voice (e.g., while shouting, chanting, or singing). These droplets can land in the mouths or noses of people who are nearby or possibly be inhaled into the lungs. Recent studies show that a significant portion of individuals with COVID-19 lack symptoms (are ‘asymptomatic’) and that even those who eventually develop symptoms (are ‘pre-symptomatic’) can transmit the virus to others before showing symptoms,” says the CDC.

“To reduce the spread of COVID-19, CDC recommends that people wear masks in public settings when around people outside of their household, especially when other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain.”

Tegnell has long expressed doubt about the usefulness of masks. “With numbers diminishing very quickly in Sweden, we see no point in wearing a face mask in Sweden, not even on public transport,” Tegnell said last month, according to Fortune. “That Sweden has come down to these levels is very promising,” Tegnell told reporters in Stockholm at the time. “The curves are going down and the curves for the seriously ill are beginning to approach zero.”

The Swede’s top immunologist’s comments came after Holland’s top scientists, who have examined data and research about COVID-19, declared there is no clear evidence that wearing face masks helps stem the spread of the virus.

“Face masks in public places are not necessary, based on all the current evidence,” said Coen Berends, spokesman for the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment. “There is no benefit and there may even be negative impact.”

“Holland’s position is based on assessments by the Outbreak Management Team, a group of experts advising the government. It first ruled against masks in May and has re-evaluated the evidence several times, including again last week. It believes they detract from a clear three-pronged message that has kept deaths from coronavirus down to less than half the rate in Britain: wash hands regularly, maintain social distancing of 1.5 metres and stay at home if suffering any symptoms,” The Daily Mail reported.

“‘The evidence for [masks] is contradictory,” Christian Hoebe, a professor of infectious diseases in Maastricht and member of the advisory team, told The Mail. “In general, we think you must be careful with face masks because they can give a false sense of security. People think they’re immune from disease or stop social distancing. That is very negative.”

WALSH: Goodyear Bans Blue Lives Matter And MAGA Shirts, Allows BLM And LGBT Messages

WIBW, a local news station in Topeka, Kansas, reports that a recent diversity training seminar at the Topeka Goodyear plant included a slide outlining the company’s zero tolerance policy. The image was posted to social media apparently by an employee who says that the material originates from Goodyear corporate headquarters in Akron, Ohio. Listed as “acceptable” messages are Black Lives Matter and LGBT pride. The “unacceptable” column consists of Blue Lives Matter, All Lives Matter, MAGA attire, and political slogans.

Goodyear has not specifically addressed the discriminatory slide, but it did issue the following statement in response to the report:

Goodyear is committed to fostering an inclusive and respectful workplace where all of our associates can do their best in a spirit of teamwork. As part of this commitment, we do allow our associates to express their support on racial injustice and other equity issues but ask that they refrain from workplace expressions, verbal or otherwise, in support of political campaigning for any candidate or political party as well as other similar forms of advocacy that fall outside the scope of equity issues.

This is outrageous on a number of levels. First of all, “all lives matter” is about as non-political as a slogan gets. Political messages are tribalistic and exclusionary by nature. Someone who affirms that all lives matter is expressly rejecting tribalism and defending the dignity of human life universally. The statement is not only non-political but in fact anti-political.

If “blue lives matter” is political, it is only because one side of the political aisle has decided to define itself by its raw hatred for law enforcement. But that does not make the message inherently divisive. All decent and sane people (a dwindling demographic, to sure) can agree that the lives of police officers matter.

In fact, Goodyear itself once seemed to feel this way. In the past the company has offered discounts to law enforcement officers and other first responders, and even now they brag that they are a “recognized leader” in providing tires for police cars.

What about Black Lives Matter? Well, if Marxism counts as a political ideology — and it does, last I checked — then BLM is an intensely political organization. It is co-founded by a woman who describes herself and her comrades as “trained Marxists” who are “super versed” on “ideological theories.” The “what we believe” section of the BLM website is full of these ideological theories, such as the theory that the “Western-prescribed nuclear family structure” should be “disrupted” and that “cisgender privilege” must be “dismantled.” And BLM has indeed done quite a bit of dismantling over the years. I don’t know if they’ve dismantled cisgender privilege, whatever that is, but they have left entire city blocks in ruins.

Goodyear is certainly not alone. Many of the most powerful corporations in America have endorsed and offered financial support to Black Lives Matter. Of course it is only by virtue of its name that this avowedly Marxist organization, which has been been involved in rioting and looting in cities across the country, has managed to gain such widespread and mainstream acceptance. If BLM had a more accurate name like “Marxists United,” or something similar, I doubt very much that Pepsi and and Goodyear would be lining up behind it.

Be that as it may, corporations that support Marxist organizations, while censoring messages of support for groups like police officers, should face a severe penalty from their customers. Conservatives, myself included, tend to shy away from boycotts. Now is probably time to get over that aversion. Goodyear should not see another dime from us until it has abandoned this policy, apologized for it, and explicitly affirmed the important truth that blue lives, and all lives, do in fact matter.

Fact Check: Sally Yates Falsely Claims Trump ‘Trying to Sabotage’ USPS to Prevent Voting 


CLAIM: U.S. President Donald Trump is “trying to sabotage our postal service to keep people from being able to vote.”

VERDICT: FALSE

Former Acting U.S. Attorney General Sally Yates, while addressing the 2020 Democrat National Convention (DNC) on Tuesday, accused President Donald Trump of trying to cripple the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) to prevent people from voting in the upcoming presidential election.

Her accusations echo claims by other Democrats, including the party’s presumptive presidential nominee, Joe Biden.

In recent days, Democrats have been pushing the false “mailbox conspiracy” theory that Trump is trying to sabotage the USPS so that it cannot handle votes by mail in November.

Democrats have alleged Trump is forcing the federal agency to remove mailboxes.

However, the USPS has been removing mailboxes for years, mainly from areas where few people use them.

Under the Obama-Biden administration, at least 14,000 were removed, Breitbart News recently noted.

Democrats have also accused the president of trying to cripple mail-in voting by denying funding to USPS in the potential economic coronavirus stimulus package that lawmakers are currently debating.

Nevertheless, Trump recently said he is open to including additional funding for USPS in the potential bill.

“The President is very clear he is willing to provide money for the post office,” White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows told reporters Monday.

That day, President Trump said he had directed his administration to “speed up” mail delivery.

“I have encouraged everybody to speed up the mail, not slow the mail,” Trump told reporters outside the White House.

Early this month, Trump indicated that he opposed funding for the USPS in the potential stimulus package, citing concerns that the cash-strapped federal agency would not be able to handle mail-in voting proposed by Democrats.

Trump believes mail-in voting would result in widespread election fraud.

USPS recently sent letters warning 46 states and the nation’s capital that it could not guarantee that all mail-in ballots cast for the presidential election would arrive on time for the election.

Amid criticism from outraged Democrats about cost-cutting changes to the post office as the nation gets ready to choose the next president, Trump expressed support for Postmaster General Louis DeJoy on Saturday.

“He’s a fantastic man, he wants to make the Post Office great again,” the commander-in-chief told reporters.

DeJoy has announced that he is delaying the Post Office changes until after the election, but that has not stopped Democrats from complaining.

Leftist protesters, enraged, at least partly, by the conspiracies disseminated by Democrats recently gathered at DeJoy’s home, accuse him of voter suppression.

On Saturday, Trump described DeJoy as “a very efficient operator” and said it was not true that he was trying to hinder vote by mail.

“He’s a fantastic man He wants to make the Post Office great again,” Trump told reporters.

Donald Trump Meets Minnesota Business Owners Affected by Riots


President Donald Trump on Monday met with Minneapolis business owners affected by the destructive riots in the name of George Floyd.

The president criticized former Vice President Joe Biden’s running mate Sen. Kamala Harris for asking for donations to help bail out the rioters who had been arrested for violence and looting.

“Their sympathies lie with lawbreakers and with criminals, my heart is with law-abiding, hard-working Americans like these people,” Trump said. “And my heart is also with the great men and women of law enforcement.”

The president tore into local Democrats for failing business owners by allowing riots and looting to continue in the city in the name of George Floyd.

“While the city’s liberal mayor refused to defend its citizens, which was incredible, their lives were destroyed while the leadership of the Democrats cheered, their dreams burned to the ground,” Trump said.

Minneapolis firefighter Korboi (KB) Balla and his wife told the story about how he spent his life’s savings to open a sports bar before it was destroyed by rioters.

Balla said he was working to rebuild the bar and was currently working to get financing to purchase a building for $1.3 million.

Trump suggested that it might be possible for Balla to get government assistance and asked for the name of the bar.

“The bikers over there, they’ll be there, like even if it’s burned down they will be there,” Trump said with a chuckle, referring to some of his “Bikers for Trump” supporters.

Balla laughed and said the name of the bar was Scores Sports Bar.

The president also welcomed Jim Stage, the owner of Lloyd’s Pharmacy, operating in the same building for more than 100 years before it was looted and burned to the ground during the riots.

Stage said he was working on rebuilding but was currently serving his customers in a satellite location.

“Thank you Mr. President for fighting for law and order in American cities and we ask that other politicians rise to the same challenge, of protecting our businesses and our neighborhoods,” he said.

Another owner of an auto repair shop said his business was completely looted and destroyed as well as vehicles owned by his customers and his tow truck.

“I’m here to build a new life and pursue the American dream,” he said. “I’m here today to say ‘no’ to this kind of action.”

He said he was confident about rebuilding his business and that he had cleared the rubble away.

“It might take time, but this is the only way myself and my two little ones live from,” he said. “I’m strong, I’m here to fight and to stand up again.”

John Wolf, the owner of Chicago Lake liquors in the city, also spoke about the riots that destroyed his business.

Wolf said he called 911 over ten times while watching looters damage his building without any response.

“The feeling of helplessness that I had knowing that no one was coming was indescribable,” he said.

Wolf said that during the three nights of looting, his business suffered six fires, three feet of standing water, and over a million dollars worth of stolen and damaged product.

“There’s nothing more important for elected officials than providing safety to residents and businesses, without that, nothing works,” he said.

He expressed frustration that no one was arrested for the looting, noting that local leaders in the city had failed them.

“While city leaders discuss reimagining the police department, Minneapolis still needs law enforcement,” he said.

He said that business owners should expect law enforcement to protect their businesses in exchange for the taxes paid to the city.

“I held up to my end. The city of Minneapolis didn’t,” he said.

Trump said that he had all of the local business owner’s names and would do whatever he could to help them rebuild.

“We’re going to see what we can do for you. We’ll help you out a little bit, and you may be surprised,” he said. “We’ll get you going.”

Black Lives Matter Rioters in Portland Target Passersby in Violent Sunday Night


Black Lives Matter and Antifa rioters in Portland targeted, beat, or robbed multiple passersby, including a trans woman on Sunday evening, according to multiple videos posted to social media.

A young white woman was chased down the street in downtown Portland, crying out, “We didn’t do anything! … . We were just walking down the street and they just started attacking us!” After a man on a scooter showed up, she started running, according to video tweeted by journalist Andy Ngo.

BLM and Antifa rioters also attacked an older white woman, who was leaning against a truck and trying to protect herself.

The white male driver of the truck, which was stopped at the time, then tried to drive away and crashed his truck. The rioters followed him, and when he exited his truck, they forced him to sit on the ground and beat him unconscious.

The same rioters who beat the truck driver also beat and robbed a trans woman that same night.

They first targeted a white man, pushing him as he walked in front of them. A white trans woman appeared to try to stand up for the man, causing the rioters to target her.

Rioters stole the trans woman’s longboard and cell phone. When an older black man carrying a knife scolded the rioters, one threatened him, telling him he would “find out” what was in his bag.

Earlier in the day, journalist Drew Hernandez filmed a BLM rally where the speaker urged attendees to resort to violence.

“We are at war, are you guys ready? Are you ready to jump on this battlefield for justice?” she shouted into a loudspeaker.

In another video, she is heard threatening police.

“We getting ready to get armored up around here,” she shouted. “You gonna need more than a flash-bang to f**k with us.” She went on:

I will continue with my mission by any means necessary. I will continue my mission for justice to hold police accountable for murders and murdering our people by any means necessary. And I’m sure we all know what any means necessary is and how it can go.

Fox News anchor Chris Wallace – no fan of Donald Trump, asked a panel of guests about the possibility that the president "may have a point" about widespread fraud due to mail-in voting.

"I know the Democrats say that President Trump is trying to block mail-in voting and trying to block billions of dollars more for the postal service in order to suppress voting in this election, but hear me out for a minute, isn’t it possible that the president really has a point here?" Wallace asked former DNC communications director Mo Elleithee during "Fox News Sunday," per the Daily Caller.

"As I mentioned earlier, there were 33 million either absentee or mail-in ballots in 2016. If we have to double that or triple that, isn’t there a pretty good chance that we will have a mess at the least, and yes, possibly fraud?" Wallace added.

After appearing stunned for a split second, Elleithee responded: "Look, I think it is certainly likely that there would be challenges if the president continues to kneecap the Postal Service," adding that states "have robust mail-in voting operations."

"When there are hiccups, the system typically catches it, as we’ve seen in a couple of the cases that have been in the news lately," Elleithee said. "So there is a system in place of checks and balances against widespread fraud or any kind of fraud."

If Trump continues to "go after the Postal Service," he continued, it could lead to "the risk of a huge mess."

"This can be fixed with more support now… It’s also terrible political strategy in that I don’t understand why he would be trying to defund the Postal Service and hurting the very voters that he relies on who receive checks, who received medications in the mail. I just do not get the politics."
