Chicago Looters Attack Charity

Looters targeted a Ronald McDonald House—a charity that provides free housing to families with sick children—in downtown Chicago Monday morning.

Thousands drove into Chicago early Monday to loot high-end retailers, department stores, and other businesses around the city’s Magnificent Mile. Residents and staff in the nearby Ronald McDonald House were forced into lockdown as looters targeted the building, breaking the charity’s doors and windows.

The Chicago charity currently houses 30 families whose children receive treatment at a nearby children’s hospital. Looters did not enter the building and nobody inside was injured. Staffer Lisa Mitchell said the safety concerns caused by riots create extra stress for already strained families.

"They’re already in a really really difficult spot," Mitchell said. "Having this kind of additional stress and worrying about being able to get to and from the hospital, even though we’re five blocks away because of safety concerns, is just doubling the strain."

The Chicago Police Department deployed hundreds of officers after discovering a widely circulated online video encouraging Chicago residents to ransack downtown businesses. More than 100 people were arrested in connection to the looting spree. Two people were shot and 13 police officers were injured.

Chicago’s Second Ward alderman Brian Hopkins (D.) told Chicago ABC 7 news that law enforcement’s response to the violence was "ineffective" and "passive."

"It’s a recipe for ineffective law enforcement, and that’s what we saw with this wide-scale looting where the police officers were largely in a passive posture, letting it happen because they didn’t know how to stop it," Hopkins told ABC 7 Chicago on Tuesday. "And in many cases if they did try to intervene, it was a threat to their own life and safety."

As a result of the looting, Chicago mayor Lori Lightfoot—who, until the recent looting spree, voiced support for the anti-police protests—said she would restrict access to downtown at night. Anti-police protests, many of which have turned into violent riots and looting, began earlier this summer following the deaths of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor.

Police: NC Man Shot 5-Year-Old Neighbor Cannon Hinnant in the Head at Point-Blank Range


A North Carolina man is now in police custody in connection with the fatal shooting of a young boy, authorities said Tuesday.

According to WTVD, Darius Nathaniel Sessoms, 25, of Wilson, is facing a first-degree murder charge after police allege he shot 5-year-old Cannon Hinnant, his next door neighbor, about 5:30 p.m. Sunday at a Wilson mobile home park.

Family members told police that Cannon was outside on his bike, playing with his sisters, ages 8 and 7, when Sessoms walked up to the boy, pointed a gun at his head and pulled the trigger.

No motive has been established for the murder.

The victim was rushed by emergency services to a nearby hospital, where he died, according to the Wilson Times.

Cannon’s mother, Bonny Waddell, told the Times her son was scheduled to start kindergarten on Monday and had just learned how to write his name.

Video: Kamala Harris Once Laughed Hysterically After Joking About Killing President Trump


Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) once made waves following an appearance on Ellen, where she laughed hysterically after joking about killing President Trump during a rapid-fire question session with host Ellen DeGeneres.

At the time of the appearance, April 2018, Harris remained mum on her presidential aspirations but answered a series of amusing questions about her first celebrity crush, nicknames, and the most “rebellious” thing she did as a teen. Then DeGeneres asked, “If you had to be stuck in an elevator with either President Trump, Mike Pence, or Jeff Sessions, who would it be?”

Harris looked away then responded, “Does one of us have to come out alive?” laughing hysterically at her own answer. The audience roared with laughter as DeGeneres put down her questions to clap her hands:

Harris previewed her appearance on the show, posting a photo of herself with an Ellen mug and telling her followers that she had a “great time”:

Some had pondered if the joke would have been so cheerfully received had a Republican said the same of a Democrat president:

President Trump on Tuesday described Harris as the “meanest, most horrible, most disrespectful” senator, referring to her behavior during the contentious hearings for now-Justice Brett Kavanaugh.

“She was probably nastier than even Pocahontas to Joe Biden,” Trump added, referencing their tension during the primary debates. “It’s hard to pick someone that’s so disrespectful.”

NewsBusters EXCLUSIVE: Tara Reade Demands Press Ask Harris About Biden Accusers

In an exclusive interview with NewsBusters on Wednesday, Tara Reade, the woman who accused Joe Biden of sexually assaulting her in 1993, spoke out about the selection of Kamala Harris as his vice presidential running mate. Harris has previously said that Reade should be “heard” and that she believes other Biden accusers. 
Reade told me: “Journalists should be asking her pointedly why there was a smear campaign on me and why Kamala was so aggressive and assertive with [then-Supreme Court nominee Brett] Kavanaugh and here she knows there is a credible sexual assault accusation against Senator Biden.” 
As a frame of reference, Harris probed Kavanaugh during the 2018 hearings, at one point wondering: “Do you agree that it is possible for men to both be friends with some women and treat other women badly?” 
Reade, a former Senate aide to Biden, wondered if Harris would “ignore it out of a will for power” or “will she hold Biden accountable? Will she be silent?” She cautioned, “To approach sexual violence as a partisan issue is not only dismissive to the survivors and dangerous to the victims. It is the reason why survivors are afraid to come forward.” Still, Reade concluded, “The Democratic Party has become an enabler to sexual predators.” 
On the subject of efforts to silence women who have spoken out against people like Harvey Weinstein and Jeffrey Epstein, Reade told me: “Sexual violence is one of the biggest problems we have in this country. You can’t ignore it. This tactic of smear and ignore [by the media] is not going to be effective with me. I will not be intimidated. I will not be silenced.” 
(Regarding Epstein, two women have now placed Bill Clinton at the now-dead pedophile’s private sex island. But journalists have largely ignored the bombshell news.) 
She reiterated that she has nothing to gain from this, saying, “No one is paying me. It has literally cost me everything.” Regarding celebrity and media love for the Biden/Harris ticket, Reade is adamant: 
I don’t care if oligarches or celebrities are supporting him. What is more important to me is sexual assault survivors are allowed to come forward and have their stories told. By coming out, I lost a lot. But I don’t regret it. 
I asked her about another topic journalists will likely show little interest in: The #MeToo ramifications of having Bill Clinton speak at next week’s Democratic National Convention. Reade replied:  
It’s unconscionable. Remember, I’m a lifelong Democrat. I voted for him and believed in him. It is unconscionable that he is being allowed to speak and it speaks volumes about the Democratic National Committee… The only way we can stop human trafficking and sexual violence is to call it out and shine a light on it and not allow these people to continue in power.    
As to whether many in the mainstream media are calling and talking to her? “The networks? No. Radio silence.” 
In a May 8 interview with Megyn Kelly, Reade stated that she brought her 1993 allegations to Senator Harris. In an April 17 interview with the San Francisco Chronicle podcast, Harris said of Reade: “Listen, this woman has a right to tell her story, and I believe that, and I believe Joe Biden believes that, too.” In the podcast interview, Harris stated of her future running mate: “She has a right to tell her story, and she shouldn’t face any repercussions for that.” 
Reade was clear to me that sexual assault accusations should not be partisan. Journalists who aggressively investigate claims against conservatives and Republicans have a responsibility to do so against liberals and Democrats. And given Harris’s insistence that she believes Biden’s accusers, the press must demand answers on the decision to join this presidential ticket. 
In April, NewsBusters published a study showcasing the virtual blackout of Reade’s accusations. For a month, ABC and NBC ignored it. CBS allowed 63 seconds. By June, they were back to ignoring it.

RNC Chair Ronna McDaniel: Picking Kamala Harris Shows ‘Left-Wing Mob’ Is Controlling Joe Biden


Republican National Committee (RNC) Chair Ronna McDaniel said in a statement on Tuesday that former Vice President Joe Biden picking Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) as his pick for vice president shows that the “left-wing mob” is controlling Biden’s candidacy.

McDaniel released a statement after Biden chose Harris to be his vice presidential nominee. She noted that Harris has a history of radical positions, saying:

Kamala Harris’ extreme positions, from raising taxes to abolishing private health insurance to comparing law enforcement officials to the KKK, show that the left-wing mob is controlling Joe Biden’s candidacy, just like they would control him as president.

A hiding, diminished, & incoherent Biden didn’t just select a VP candidate, he chose the person who will actually be in charge if he were somehow able to win. Harris’ radical policies may be popular among liberals, but they are well outside the mainstream for most Americans.

Katrina Pierson, a Trump 2020 campaign senior adviser, also slammed Biden for choosing Harris as his vice presidential nominee. She said in a statement on Tuesday:

Not long ago, Kamala Harris called Joe Biden a racist and asked for an apology she never received. Clearly, Phony Kamala will abandon her own morals, as well as try to bury her record as a prosecutor, in order to appease the anti-police extremists controlling the Democrat Party. In her failed attempt at running for president, Kamala Harris gleefully embraced the left’s radical manifesto, calling for trillions of dollars in new taxes and backing Bernie Sanders’ government takeover of healthcare. She is proof that Joe Biden is an empty shell being filled with the extreme agenda of the radicals on the left.

“At the ballot box, Americans will resoundingly reject the abysmal failures of Biden-Harris in favor of the America First strength of President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence,” Pierson added.

Kamala Harris Brings Extreme Gun Control Position to Biden Ticket


Democrat presidential hopeful and gun control proponent Joe Biden has officially chosen extreme gun controller Kamala Harris to be his running mate.

On July 14, 2019, Breitbart News reported presidential hopeful Harris’s pledge to go around Congress to secure gun control via executive action, if Congress refused to support her gun control agenda.

On September 7, 2019, Breitbart News reported Harris’s support for government-mandated buybacks of AR-15 rifles. Bloomberg reported that Harris had not worked out all the details on how the buyback would work, but she said, “I think it’s a good idea.”

Her support of a mandatory buyback came weeks after then presidential hopeful Robert “Beto” O’Rourke pushed for “a mandatory buyback of every assault weapon in our country.”

Harris is on record voicing support for universal background checks and prohibiting rifle purchases for 18-20-year-olds. And as California Attorney General she fought to preserve the “good cause” requirement, which means law-abiding citizens without a criminal record were still barred from getting a California concealed carry permit unless they could prove why they needed to carry a gun.

Harris also opposed allowing teachers to be armed for classroom defense. Breitbart News reported Harris’s April 13, 2019, tweet in which she stated, “We need to give teachers a raise — not guns” Yet two days earlier she admitted that she owns a gun to keep herself safe.

On April 11, 2019, the Associated Press reported that Harris told reporters in Iowa, “I own a gun for probably the reason that a lot of people do: for personal safety.”

All these gun controls, and more, dovetail well with Joe Biden’s myriad gun control positions and his promise to come after gun companies if he gets elected.

On February 24, 2020, Breitbart News reported Biden used a speech in South Carolina to warn gun manufacturers, “I’m going to take you down.”

He made clear that one of the first things he will do as president is to remove Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act protections, which were put in place to shield gun makers from frivolous lawsuits.

Biden said “it was a “mistake” to give “gun manufacturers … a loophole that does not allow them to be sued for the carnage they are creating.”

During a November 6, 2019, CNN interview, Biden answered in the affirmative when asked if he was coming for guns. CNN’s Anderson Cooper said, “So, to gun owners out there who say, well, a Biden administration means they’re going to come for my guns?”

Biden replied, “Bingo. You’re right if you have an assault weapon. The fact of the matter is, they should be illegal, period.

Pennsylvania Dem Illegally Used Funds to Boost Congressional Bid, Complaint Says

Pennsylvania Democrat Eugene DePasquale illegally used more than $130,000 to jump-start his congressional bid, according to a complaint filed with the Federal Election Commission.

DePasquale, the state’s auditor general, used donations to his state campaign coffers to launch his bid against Rep. Scott Perry (R., Pa.). In March, the Democrat began running Facebook ads that touted his tenure in state government and asked voters for email addresses and other personal information. Many of the ads specifically targeted the city of Harrisburg, which is located in Perry’s district and routinely votes to elect Democrats.

In addition to the ads, DePasquale used his state campaign account to disburse more than $110,000 to Democratic campaign firms from March to May 2019. The Democrat paid Rising Tide Interactive more than $12,000 as a "retainer," despite being term-limited out of his state office. DePasquale also sent $8,000 to Think Big Campaigns for "website" purposes. His state campaign website was shut down in early March 2019.

DePasquale went on to formally announce his campaign against Perry in June 2019. Nearly one week later, he unveiled a campaign ad made by Jackson Group Media, a consulting firm that received $11,000 from DePasquale’s state campaign account in May 2019. The Democrat had not previously used Rising Tide Interactive, Think Big Campaigns, or Jackson Group Media as vendors on his state campaign. His congressional campaign, however, has paid the firms more than $77,000 since the 2019 launch.

DePasquale’s alleged campaign finance violations were first raised by Democratic primary opponent Tom Brier, who accused DePasquale of "flouting the rules" in April. After Brier failed to notarize an FEC complaint detailing the potential wrongdoings, the allegations were picked up by the conservative watchdog group Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust (FACT).

"Federal law clearly prohibits candidates from using state campaign funds for a federal campaign," FACT executive director Kendra Arnold said in a statement. "Not only does this merit immediate investigation, this is a serious offense."

DePasquale did not respond to a request for comment about his alleged violations. The campaign dismissed the allegations in April, telling the York Dispatch that DePasquale’s state campaign payments came "before he announced his candidacy" and that they "had nothing to do with his congressional campaign." Federal candidates are allowed to spend money in order to "test the waters" before officially launching a campaign, but they must use funds that are subject to federal regulations. While individuals cannot give more than $2,800 per election to federal candidates, Pennsylvania has no political contribution limits for individuals, meaning DePasquale could not use state campaign funds to "test the waters."

A DePasquale campaign spokesman attacked the watchdog group as a "partisan organization" in a statement to the York Dispatch on Monday, but declined to answer questions about the substance of the allegations. Arnold said the campaign is dodging in the hopes that media and voters will ignore the issue.

"The thing that alerts me is that there’s no defense to the spending," she told the Washington Free Beacon. "We’d like a response as to why [DePasquale] was paying for a state campaign website when he did not have an active state campaign website. It’s important that they respond to the facts of the complaint."

DePasquale won his primary against Brier in June, receiving 57.5 percent of the vote to Brier’s 42.5 percent. He will now face Perry in November. The Republican has a slight fundraising advantage, having raised nearly $1.9 million as of June 30. DePasquale, meanwhile, has raised $1.6 million. Perry’s seat is seen as a prime pickup opportunity for national Democrats—the nonpartisan Cook Political Report rates the race a "toss up."

The New York Times IS LYING to You: Calls Harris a ‘Pragmatic Moderate’

Kamala Harris is the most liberal vice presidential nominee to ever be nominated. Her lifetime American Conservative Union Score (meaning the number of times she voted with conservatives as a Senator) is 3.03. In 2019 it was 0. Yet, The New York Times tweeted this demonstrably false claim: 
 
 
Here’s the text: “Breaking News: Sen. Kamala Harris of California is Joe Biden’s pick for vice president. A pragmatic moderate, she is the first Black woman on a major party ticket.” 
Pragmatic moderate? On what? She’s rabidly pro-abortion, anti-Second Amendment, supports the Green New Deal, supports Medicare for all. Yet the Times article in question, written by Alexander Burns and Katie Glueck, contained the same falsehood: 
A pragmatic moderate who spent most of her career as a prosecutor, Ms. Harris was seen throughout the vice-presidential search as among the safest choices available to Mr. Biden. The Times writers gushed that she brings “a gift for capturing moments of raw political electricity on the debate stage and elsewhere, and a personal identity and family story that many find inspiring.” 
In an incoherent attempt to boost the absurd claim Harris is a moderate, Burns and Glueck claimed: 
While she endorsed a number of left-wing policy proposals during her presidential bid, Ms. Harris also showed a distinctly Biden-like impatience with what she characterized as the grand but impractical governing designs of some in her party.
“Policy has to be relevant,” Ms. Harris said last summer in an interview with The New York Times. “That’s my guiding principle: Is it relevant? Not, ‘Is it a beautiful sonnet?’”

REPORT: Chicago Prosecutor Dismissed Thousands Of Felony Cases Including Gun Crimes Cases

Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx pledged Monday to bring the dozens of looters and rioters who did a reported $60 million in damages Sunday night to justice, but a new report from the Chicago Tribune calls into question Foxx’s commitment to seeing certain felony cases through.

According to the Tribune, Foxx’s office has dismissed “thousands” of felony cases, including gun cases, sex assault cases, attacks on police officers, and even homicides. In all, “25,183 people had their felony cases dismissed” per the Trib.

“[T]he Tribune found that Foxx’s higher rates of dropped cases included people accused of murder, shooting another person, sex crimes, and attacks on police officers — as well as serious drug offenses that for decades have driven much of Chicago’s street violence,” the outlet said.

“For the three-year period analyzed, Foxx’s office dropped 8.1% of homicide cases … Under Foxx, the office dropped 9.5% of felony sex crime cases,” the Tribe notes. “Foxx’s office also increased the rate of dropped cases for aggravated battery and for aggravated battery with a firearm. And under Foxx, the percentage of cases dropped for defendants accused of aggravated battery of a police officer more than doubled, from 3.9% to 8.1%.”

The dropped cases, of course, include that of Jussie Smollett, who inked an unofficial “plea deal” with Foxx’s office just weeks after being charged with seventeen counts of lying to police investigators, stemming from Smollett’s claim that he was the target of a racist and homophobic attack in Chicago’s Streeterville neighborhood in January of 2019.

A special prosecutor recently reinstated several of those counts and an investigation into Foxx’s office — and into why the city prosecutor suddenly reversed her decision on Smollett’s case — is ongoing. Smollett was supposed to return to court in May, but that date has been postponed over concerns about coronavirus.

The dropped cases also include gun cases, many of which are arrests stemming from enforcement of Chicago’s strict gun control laws.

Foxx was elected as a “criminal justice reform” candidate, one of a handful of state’s attorney candidates nationwide to receive millions from George Soros, according to the Chicago Sun-Times, as part of a program to encourage and, ultimately, install state and city attorneys that espouse progressive ideals.

Chicago Police Superintendent David Brown alluded to Foxx’s record of dropping cases against looters, like the ones that ravaged Chicago’s “Magnificent Mile” shopping district Sunday night, in a press conference held Monday.

“Not many of those [looting cases from May] were prosecuted to the full extent,” Brown said. “These looters, these thieves, these criminals being emboldened by consequences…emboldened to do more. These criminals were emboldened by no consequences in the criminal system.”

Chicago’s mayor Lori Lightfoot quickly intervened and cut off the line of questioning before Brown could go further.

Foxx denied that her office’s lax prosecutorial record was to blame for Sunday’s looting, telling a press conference that, “The notion that people believe that they are somehow empowered because people were not prosecuted is simply not true.”

Many of those cases are still pending and will come to court in August, Foxx claimed.

Boom! Trump Video on Biden-Harris Ticket Gets Three Million Views in Just Over One Hour of Posting

A video released by the Trump campaign and tweeted out by President Trump on the newly announced Biden-Harris ticket received three million views in just over an hour of it being released Tuesday afternoon.

A statement accompanying the video reads, “Meet Phony Kamala Harris – With Harris as Joe Biden’s ‘political living will,’ he is surrendering control of our nation to the radical mob with promises to raise taxes, cut police funding, kill energy jobs and open our borders.”

The video ties Biden and Harris to the radical Left taking over the Democratic Party led by socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders (VT), Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (NY) and Rep. Ilhan Omar (MN).

The video was posted at 4:37 p.m. EDT by the Trump War Room account and tweeted minutes later by President Trump.

As of publication of this article the video had 3 million views with about 100,000 more every few minutes.
