When will American Jewry wake up?

When will American Jewry wake up?Was the machete attack at Rabbi Chaim Rottenburg’s home in Monsey, NY last Saturday night wake-up call enough?

Are liberal American Jews ready to accept the truth about anti-Semitism in America?

Following the December 10 massacre at the kosher supermarket in Jersey City, Chris Gadsen, a local high school principal shared an op-ed calling for dialogue between the city’s Jewish and black communities on his Facebook page.

Joan Terrell-Paige, an elected member of the Jersey City school board responded angrily. She began her response to Gadsen’s post by vilifying the city’s Jews as “brutes” who oppressed blacks by buying apartments from them.

Then she accused “6 rabbis,” of “selling body parts.”

Then she accused Jews of planting “drugs and guns” in the black community.

In closing, Terrell-Paige paid homage to the shooters.

PRAGER: Greta Thunberg: A Living Explanation Of The Left

It is not easy to understand what the Left — as opposed to liberals — stands for. If you ask a Christian what to read to learn the basics of Christianity, you will be told the Bible. If you ask a (religious) Jew, you will be told the Hebrew Bible and the Talmud. If you ask a Mormon, you will be told the Bible and the Book of Mormon. Ask a Muslim, and you will be told the Quran.

But if you ask a leftist what one or two books you should read to understand leftism, every leftist will give you a different answer — or need some time to think it over. Few, if any, will suggest Marx’s “Das Kapital” because almost no leftists have read it and because you will either not finish the book or reject it as incoherent.

So, then, how is one to understand what leftism stands for?

The truth is it is almost impossible. What leftist in history would have ever imagined that to be a leftist, one would have to believe that men give birth or men have periods, or that it is fair to women to have to compete in sports with biological males who identify as females?

There are two primary reasons it is so difficult, if not impossible, to define leftism. One is that it ultimately stands for chaos:

— Open borders.

— “Nonbinary” genders.

— Nonsensical and scatological “art.”

— “Music” without tonality, melody or harmony.

— Drag Queen Story Hour for 5-year-olds.

— Rejection of the concept of better or worse civilizations.

— Rejection of the concept of better or worse art.

— Removal of Shakespeare’s picture from a university English department because he was a white male.

— The end of all use of fossil fuels — even in transportation (as per the recent recommendation by the head of the U.N. World Meteorological Organization).

— The dismantling of capitalism, the economic engine that has lifted billions of people out of abject poverty.

And much more.

The other major reason it is impossible to define leftism is that it is emotion-based. Leftism consists of causes that give those who otherwise lack meaning something to cling to for meaning.

Two things about Greta Thunberg, Time Magazine’s 2019 person of the year, embody these explanations.

With regard to chaos, here is what Greta Thunberg wrote at the beginning of the month: “The climate crisis is not just about the environment. It is a crisis of human rights, of justice and of political will. Colonial, racist and patriarchal systems of oppression have created and fuelled it. We need to dismantle them all.”

Greta Thunberg, like all leftists, seeks to dismantle just about everything. As former President Barack Obama said five days before the 2008 election, “We are five days away from fundamentally transforming the United States of America.”

As regards emotion and meaning, the Guardian reports, this is what Thunberg’s father just told the BBC: “Greta Thunberg’s father has opened up about how activism helped his daughter out of depression … how activism had changed the outlook of the teenager, who suffered from depression for ‘three or four years’ before she began her school strike protest outside the Swedish parliament. She was now ‘very happy’, he said … ‘She stopped talking … she stopped going to school,’ he said of her illness.”

The post-Judeo-Christian world the Left has created has left a vast number of the West’s citizens, especially more and more young people, with no meaning. This Grand-Canyon-sized hole is filled by leftist causes.

The fact is life is better, safer and more affluent, and offers more opportunities for more people, than ever before in history. Just about all emotionally stable, mature people should be walking around the West almost delirious at their good fortune. Americans in particular should feel this way. But leftists (again, as opposed to many liberals) are not usually emotionally stable and are certainly not mature. That is why depression among young Americans (and perhaps Swedes) is at the highest levels ever recorded. So, like Greta, they look to left-wing causes to find meaning and emotional fulfillment. Until she embraced climate crisis activism — a chance, as she sees it, to literally save the world — Greta Thunberg was so depressed “she stopped talking.” But thanks to climate activism and other left-wing activism, she is now “very happy” (an assessment I suspect many observers find hard to believe).

Feminism and “fighting patriarchy” (in an age when American women have more opportunities than ever before and more opportunities than women almost anywhere else in the world), fighting racism (in the least racist multiracial society in history), fighting white supremacy (which has almost disappeared from American life) and fighting on behalf of myriad other leftist causes — in other words, fundamentally transforming society — gives meaning to people with no meaning.

None of that is morally or rationally coherent. But it is very emotionally satisfying. Just ask Greta Thunberg’s dad.

No-Go Paris Suburbs Now Second-most Populated Department in Region

According to newly released statistics, the multicultural no-go suburbs of Paris have become the second-most populous department in the capital region as of January 1st, 2020.

The Seine-Saint-Denis department, which consists of several suburbs to the north of Paris, is second only to the French capital in the Île-de-France region in terms of population, with the National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE) claiming there to be 1,630,133 inhabitants, Le Parisien reports.

In the last five years, the population of the department has increased by over five per cent, higher than the average in the region with the city of Paris losing 2.4 per cent of its population during the same period.

The commune of Saint-Denis has the most residents at 111,948 in total, followed by Montreuil and Aubervilliers which grew by 11.41 per cent in the last five years.

“The population is growing twice as fast as the regional average, thanks to a young population, economic development, and major housing construction programmes,” the INSEE suggested.

Seine-Saint-Denis is also well-known for having a large population of illegal migrants, with a 2018 report indicating that as many as 400,000 residents of the department were illegals.

One community in the department has seen a decrease in recent years, however. Members of the Jewish community have moved away from the area due to rising levels of antisemitism.

Jerome Fourquet, director of polling firm Ifop, commented on the trend saying: “Over fifteen years, numbers of Jewish populations or families have collapsed in a series of municipalities from Seine-Saint-Denis.”

“In Aulnay-sous-Bois, the number of families of Jewish faith has thus decreased from 600 to 100, at Blanc-Mesnil from 300 to 100, in Clichy-sous-Bois from 400 to at 80 and at La Courneuve from 300 to 80,” he added.

The area is also known for its high levels of crime, and some have argued that the suburbs pose a major threat to French security.

“If the suburbs give rise to further and even more violent uprisings, we will have no way to face them: we lack the means, we lack the men. This is the reality of the French political situation,” General Pierre de Villiers, the former Chief of the Defence Staff, is said to have told French President Emmanuel Macron.

Henry Repeating Arms Donates over 120 Rifles to Raise Money for Children with Cancer

Henry Repeating Arms is donating 126 rifles to be sold to raise money for a three-year-old girl and four-year-old boy with cancer.

The little girl is Sadie Kreinbrink, from Ostrander, Ohio. Sadie has Embryonal Rhabdomyosarcoma and must “undergo 66 weeks of intensive chemotherapy, ” so Henry created “66 unique rifles” to be sold to raise money to help Sadie’s family with her medical expenses.

Henry calls the rifle the “Sweet Sadie.” It is a lever-action .22 s/l/lr with engravings that are “hand-painted pink” to be special to the rifle and the cause.

Beckett Burge, of Princeton, Texas, is the young boy for whom Henry is raising money. Beckett has leukemia and is undergoing “rigorous treatment.” Henry created the “Beat It Like Beckett” .22 s/l/lr rifle to raise money for Beckett’s family during this time.

The “Beat It Like Beckett” lever action has “a large loop lever, a brushed metal receiver cover, and a 17” blued steel octagon barrel.”

The rifles for Sadie and Beckett are being built and sold in two batches and can be purchased directly from the Henry Repeating Arms website. The first batch of both rifles have already sold out, and a second batch will be available directly from Henry in two to three weeks.

On May 1, 2019. Breitbart News reported the Henry name goes back to 1860 when Benjamin Tyler Henry patented the first repeating rifle. The rifle began to be called Winchester by 1866, and the Henry name lay dormant until 1996 when Anthony Imperato acquired the Henry name.

Henry began shipping guns in 1997, and the company now has over 150 rifles and shotguns.

Henry’s motto is “Made In America Or Not Made At All.”

Khan’s London: Murder Rate Reaches Decade High as Knife Killings Surge

The number of people murdered in London has reached its highest level in a decade under the leadership of Mayor Sadiq Khan, with 149 people losing their lives in 2019.

The homicide rate in London last year was the highest since 2008 when 154 people were killed in the capital and ten per cent higher than in 2018 when 135 people were murdered. The majority of victims were stabbed to death, with 90 people being killed by knives, up from 55 in 2014.

Gang-related murders have risen sharply during the mayoralty of Sadiq Khan, with 42 people dying in gang-related crimes, more than double that of 2014 when 17 people died in gang crimes, reports The Guardian.

In 2018, Mayor Sadiq Khan launched a £500,000 “violent crime unit” in response to the knife crime epidemic sweeping over the city. The founder of Anti-Knife UK, Danny O’Brien, said that the mayor’s response was inadequate to deal with the problem.

“He’s said that he’s going to try and save the problem but in reality, he hasn’t got a clue what to do. He starts something, throws money at the problem but doesn’t know what the problem is,” O’Brien said.

“Politicians as a whole just simply aren’t doing enough,” he added.

A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police Service said in response to the surge in knife crime that “tackling violence that involves knife crime is the number one priority” for the police.

“Stop and search and the use of Section 60 remains an important power in tackling knife crime and protecting the public. This means that following a stabbing, further retaliatory incidents are prevented saving further violence,” the spokesman told The Sun.

“In 2018, it resulted in more than 4,200 arrests for weapon possession alone. Every one of those weapons seized potentially means one less violent incident, injury or death,” the spokesman added.

The surge in knife crime and murders will be a top issue in the upcoming London mayoral election, in which Sadiq Khan will be seeking to win a second term.

Shaun Bailey, a Conservative Party candidate, blamed Sadiq Khan for the violent crime wave in the city.

“An extremely violent end to the year in London. Sadly, 2019 will be remembered as a year of crime and fear for Londoners. In the mayoral campaign my focus will be on making London a safer place, things can’t carry on as they are. We need a change in City Hall,” wrote Bailey.

WILLIAMS: Colleges Dupe Parents And Taxpayers

Colleges have been around for centuries. College students have also been around for centuries. Yet, college administrators assume that today’s students have needs that were unknown to their predecessors. Those needs include diversity and equity personnel, with massive budgets to accommodate.

According to Minding the Campus, Penn State University’s Office of Vice Provost for Educational Equity employs 66 staff members. The University of Michigan currently employs a diversity staff of 93 full-time diversity administrators, officers, directors, vice provosts, deans, consultants, specialists, investigators, managers, executive assistants, administrative assistants, analysts and coordinators. Amherst College, with a student body of 1,800 students employs 19 diversity people. Top college diversity bureaucrats earn salaries six figures, in some cases approaching $500,000 per year. In the case of the University of Michigan, a quarter (26) of their diversity officers earn annual salaries of more than $100,000. If you add generous fringe benefits and other expenses, you could easily be talking about $13 million a year in diversity costs. The Economist reports that University of California, Berkeley, has 175 diversity bureaucrats.

Diversity officials are a growing part of a college bureaucracy structure that outnumbers faculty by 2 to 2.5 depending on the college. According to “The Campus Diversity Swarm,” an article from Mark Pulliam, a contributing editor at Law and Liberty, which appeared in the City Journal (10/10/2018), diversity people assist in the cultivation of imaginary grievances of an ever-growing number of “oppressed” groups. Pulliam writes:

The mission of campus diversity officers is self-perpetuating. Affirmative action (i.e., racial and ethnic preferences in admissions) leads to grievance studies. Increased recognition of LGBTQ rights requires ever-greater accommodation by the rest of the student body. Protecting ‘vulnerable’ groups from ‘hate speech’ and ‘microaggressions’ requires speech codes and bias-response teams (staffed by diversocrats). Complaints must be investigated and adjudicated (by diversocrats). Fighting ‘toxic masculinity’ and combating an imaginary epidemic of campus sexual assault necessitate consent protocols, training, and hearing procedures — more work for an always-growing diversocrat cadre. Each newly recognized problem leads to a call for more programs and staffing.

Campus diversity people have developed their own professional organization — the National Association of Diversity Officers in Higher Education. They hold annual conferences — the last one in Philadelphia. The NADOHE has developed standards for professional practice and a political agenda, plus a Journal of Diversity in Higher Education, which is published by the American Psychological Association.

One wonders just how far spineless college administrators will go when it comes to caving in to the demands of campus snowflakes who have been taught that they must be protected against words, events and deeds that do not fully conform to their extremely limited, narrow-minded beliefs built on sheer delusion. Generosity demands that we forgive these precious snowflakes and hope that they eventually grow up. The real problem is with people assumed to be grown-ups — college professors and administrators — who serve their self-interests by tolerating and giving aid and comfort to our aberrant youth. Unless the cycle of promoting and nursing imaginary grievances is ended, diversity bureaucracies will take over our colleges and universities, supplanting altogether the goal of higher education.

“Diversity” is the highest goal of students and professors who openly detest those with whom they disagree. These people support the very antithesis of higher education with their withering attacks on free speech. Both in and out of academia, the content of a man’s character is no longer as important as the color of his skin, his sex, his sexual preferences or his political loyalties. That’s a vision that spells tragedy for our nation.

Ben Carson Shares ‘Key’ to Fixing Homelessness: Get Them the Help They Really Need

While a majority of the country experienced a decline in homelessness from 2018 to 2019, the state of California experienced a 16.4 percent increase, according to a statement released by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

While California Gov. Gavin Newsom has attempted to blame the Trump administration, HUD Secretary Ben Carson said the homelessness “crisis” in California needs to be addressed from its roots.

According to the 2019 Annual Homelessness Report to Congress, the country as a whole saw a 2.9 percent increase of homelessness from 2018 to 2019. Almost all of that increase, however, was driven by the West Coast — specifically in California and Oregon.

California’s increase was “more than the total national increase of every other state combined,” according to Carson.

This troubling statistic led Carson to call on state and local officials to address the issue with “crisis-like urgency.”

TRENDING: Beth Moore Outed as NeverTrumper

“As we look across our nation, we see great progress, but we’re also seeing a continued increase in street homelessness along our West Coast where the cost of housing is extremely high,” Carson said in a Dec. 20 HUD media release.

“In fact, homelessness in California is at a crisis level and needs to be addressed by local and state leaders with crisis-like urgency. Addressing these challenges will require a broader, community-wide response that engages every level of government to compassionately house our fellow citizens who call the streets their home.”

On Dec. 19, after the sixth Democratic presidential primary debate, Newsom predictably blamed HUD and the Trump administration for the rise in homelessness in his own state.

“They’re not serious about this issue,” he said. “They’re playing politics with it. Expect nothing but division coming and emanating from the folks at HUD and the Trump administration.”

Fox Nation host Tomi Lahren shared the tweeted video and implored Newsom to take responsibility for his own citizens.

“Take accountability, Gavin. This is your state and you and your democratic cohorts created this mess,” she wrote on Twitter. “You can’t blame @realDonaldTrump forever. Step away from the hair gel and get to work!!!”

The president responded to Lahren and Newsom’s remarks on Christmas Day.

“Governor Gavin N has done a really bad job on taking care of the homeless population in California,” Trump tweeted. “If he can’t fix the problem, the Federal Govt. will get involved!”

RELATED: Ben Carson Calls Out California’s Failure To Address Homelessness Crisis: ‘It’s Truly Amazing’

Carson appeared on Fox News on Monday and said the homelessness crisis is the responsibility of the state and local officials, not the federal government’s.

“We have to realize these are fellow American citizens and many cases they are people that are incapable of taking care of themselves and other cases they’re people who have fallen on hard times,” Carson said, highlighting the humanity in the midst of an issue that Gov. Newsom has tried to use to attack the Trump administration.

“In either case, we do have the ability to take care of them, but it should be recognized that this is a state and local government responsibility,” Carson continued. “It is not the responsibility of the federal government.

Do you think Gov. Newsom is justified in blaming the Trump administration for his state’s homelessness crisis?

“Federal government is quite willing to help, however, in these situations. And particularly given the fact that it’s reached crisis proportions in California, but it’s going to require local authorities and the state to cooperate — stop throwing fire bombs and wanting to actually to get this thing done.”

Carson suggested the solution to the crisis wouldn’t be a simple fix, but that by looking at facts and considering the root causes of homelessness, California could see success similar to what Texas has accomplished over the past decade.

“Look at Texas and how much their homelessness has gone down over the last year and over the last five to seven years. Significant decreases because the policies don’t encourage people to sleep on the streets,” he said. “They encourage people to go to the places where they can get the kind of help that will get them into the right situation.”

According to the 2018 Annual Homelessness Report to Congress, Texas saw a 27.9 percent decrease in homelessness since 2010.

Carson added that sensible solutions to address the mental health of those who are homeless is more compassionate than allowing them to “do anything they want to do.”

“I have to look at the way people treat people who are mentally ill,” he said. “Some people say it’s compassionate just to let them do anything they want to do.

“That’s not compassionate at all.

“What’s compassionate is helping people who cannot take care of themselves manage. And If we can get them into the right setting so they’re getting proper medications and counseling, many of them become quite functional at that point.”

Gov. Newsom has also been critical of the Trump administration for not taking a “housing first” initiative, but Carson argued that focusing on ideology such as “housing” first isn’t effective.

“Now people don’t mean to do bad things; don’t get me wrong. You know, housing first, for instance; it’s meant to be a good thing; just get people off the street, don’t have any requirements of them and you’ve done your job,” he said. “But I think it should be housing first, second and third.

“Housing second: You figure why they’re on the street in the first place; and housing third: You fix it.

“That’s where the real compassion comes in.”

Carson explained that the areas that are implementing a housing first approach have seen a decrease of 77,078 transitional beds even though the unsheltered homeless population has increased by 35,000.

“Do the math,” he said. “You have to really be able to look at all those facts; look at at the data. Then make your decisions on that, not on ideology. That is the key to fixing this problem.”

Woman Says God Led Her To Help Homeless Man. Then He Turned Out To Be the Love of Her Life

A Texas woman says that when she read a story about a homeless artist nearly 18 years ago, she felt God lead her to reach out.

Because she followed that prompting, both of their lives completely changed.

Peggy Pasko told the San Antonio Express-News that she felt a strong connection to Michael when she first read his story in the newspaper.

The homeless artist was pictured next to an almost life-sized John Wayne wood carving that he crafted himself.

The story shared how much Michael had to sacrifice in order to pursue his dream of creating art; he said that he received little support from his parents as a child or from any of his three ex-wives.

Michael had been living on the streets for over 20 years and, while he had struggled with substance abuse when he was younger, he gave up drugs to fully dedicate himself to his art.

He said he believes his talent is a gift from God.

As Peggy read Michael’s story, she felt God lead her to reach out to the journalist who wrote it.

“When God asks you to do something, you are to be obedient to his requests,” she said.

She hoped that she could be connected with the man pictured in the newspaper and help in some way. She enjoyed going to art museums herself and hoped to encourage the man who had given up his worldly possessions to chase his dream.

But she never could have guessed what was in store.

“I wish you everything in your endeavors on this journey in your life!” her first message to Michael said. “I felt a strong connection to you when I read the article.

“I hope of a ‘one man showing’ of your work in the near future. Perhaps you could do this at Blue Star during one of the First Friday Art Shows. If there is a way I may assist you, please let me know.”

It took three weeks for Michael to respond, during which time Peggy thought he had ignored her, but soon after he did the two became friends through their conversations about art and their faith.

“That’s what drew me to Michael — his love for God,” Peggy said.

Soon their friendship blossomed into something more.

They began dating on New Year’s Eve, 18 years ago.

Through their relationship, Michael experienced true support from someone close in his life.

“I found out she loves God, she loved my John Wayne and right there, that’s a gift,” he recalled.

Peggy and Michael were married four months after their first date, according to the San Antonio Express-News, and they have built a beautiful life together full of love, art and God.

“The biggest and best investment someone can make is to take a chance on someone,” Michael said before looking at his wife. “Thank you for taking a chance on me, honey.”

The VA Fails Our Veterans Again! -- Start the New Year off right!Fellow Americans:

So, how was your New Year’s Day?

Presumably, most all of us spent it safely and quietly in the comfort of our own private residence.

That’s because men and women on active duty in our U.S. Military – Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, Coast Guard – have pledged their lives to protect us for nearly two-and-a-half centuries.
