Virginia Couple Adopts Child After Convincing Mothers Not to Abort

A Virginia couple, who went viral with a pro-life Facebook post this year urging women not to abort their babies and put them up for adoption instead, got their wish.

Blake and Sarah Thomas, of Radford, Virginia, posted a photo on Facebook several months ago urging pregnant mothers planning on abortion not to do so.

“Please don’t abort. We will adopt your baby!” a sign in the photo said.

The couple posted the image in response to New York’s recently passed law that legalizes abortion up to birth in many cases.

After the couple’s post went viral, the couple agreed to adopt a child. Their request initially fell through, because the mother decided to keep the child.

But their wishes of adopting a child were answered, as the couple told Fox News that they are about to adopt an 11-year-old Bulgarian boy.

“We recently felt God burdening our hearts for older orphans, specifically boys who statistically are the least likely to be adopted,” Sarah Tomas told the outlet. “We’re so excited to meet him and we’re amazed by how God has already filled our hearts with love for this boy on the other side of the world that we’ve never met.”

The child is not the first to enter the Thomas family through adoption.

The family has a three-year-old son named Kayden whom they adopted through the foster care system, in addition to their one-year-old biological son.

The Virginia couple says dozens of mothers have reached out to them saying they were inspired to keep their babies after seeing their Facebook post.

2020 Democrats Refuse To Give Trump Credit For Killing ISIS Leader

The field of 2020 Democratic presidential candidates refused to give President Donald Trump any credit for authorizing a raid on ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, which resulted in his death.

The majority of the candidates – except for Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ), Montana Governor Steve Bullock, and Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) – took to Twitter where they released statements about U.S. forces killing al-Baghdadi.

It is worth noting that Harris weighed in on the matter during an appearance on CNN where gave credit to “the men and women who have been doing the work every day.” CNN added: “Trump, Harris said, has lost credibility when it comes to his relationship with the intelligence community.”

Even FiveThirtyEight Editor-in-Chief Nate Silver, who is not a fan of the president, noted how absurd it was that the political Left could not even give Trump a win on the issue.

“It really amazing how many Libs can’t even permit Trump to have *one good day* (nobody will remember this stuff by Tuesday) after US forces kill perhaps the world’s most wanted terrorist,” Silver wrote.

Here are the responses from the 2020 Democrat presidential candidates that weighed in on the matter:

Sen. Michael Bennet (D-CO) tweeted: “Grateful to the men and women of our military and intelligence community for their commitment, persistence, and skill. While this isn’t the end of our efforts, this marks a significant milestone in our fight against ISIS.”

Joe Biden tweeted: “I congratulate our special forces, our intelligence community, and all our brave military professionals on delivering justice to the terrorist Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. The world is better and safer without him in it.”

A lengthier statement that Biden attached to his tweet also failed to mention Trump.

Mayor Pete Buttigieg tweeted: “This is a blow against ISIS and an important step in the fight against stateless terrorism. Credit should go to all who were involved; above all to the brave Americans in uniform and intelligence professionals who risked their lives to complete this mission. Today, we honor them.”

Julian Castro tweeted: “A ruthless murderer has been brought to justice. I’m grateful to our military and intelligence community. Their courage and dedication inspire us all. Abandoning our Syrian and Kurdish partners remains a disastrous decision that will make the fight against ISIS harder.”

John Delaney tweeted: “I am grateful for the brave patriots who risked their lives to advance our safety and security. Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi was a monster and the world is better without him. Today we should reflect on the work of our amazing armed forces and all those who contributed to this operation.”

Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI) tweeted: “Thank you and congratulations to our special operations forces and others involved in tracking and getting rid of ISIS/Daesh leader Baghdadi. But as we learned with the death of Osama Bin Laden, whose org al-Qaeda is now stronger than ever, Daesh will continue due to the short-sighted policies of Trump – including his support for Erdogan and Saudi Arabia, which helps spread the extremist ideology that acts as the fuel for Daesh, al-Qaeda, etc. As president, I will end all such support.”

Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) tweeted: “Al-Baghdadi was a dangerous terrorist who committed heinous crimes. As I said this morning, getting rid of him was good for America and the world. But as I discussed today on @FaceTheNation many challenges remain…”

Robert Francis O’Rourke tweeted: “Last night, our special forces brought the leader of one of history’s most destructive terrorist groups to justice. Let’s thank our service members for their courage; and recommit to protecting all of the allies who are working with us to defeat ISIS – including the Kurds.”

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) tweeted: “Abu Bakr al Baghdadi was a murderer and terrorist responsible for terrible suffering and death. The fight against ISIS would not be possible without the brave efforts of the Kurds and other U.S. allies.”

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) tweeted: “Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi led a campaign of mass violence and terror that devastated the region and threatened the world. His death is a setback for ISIS and a victory for justice. I am grateful for the skill and courage of our special operations and intelligence professionals. Baghdadi’s death closes one chapter, but it is not the end of our fight against terrorism. We need a settlement that ends the suffering and destruction in Syria—and ultimately, a long-term plan to counter extremism and allow the region to achieve peace and stability.”

Marianne Williamson tweeted: “ISIS has caused immeasurable suffering & destruction; the death of Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi was an important, much needed action to defeat it. Praise and thanks for the military bravery and brilliance that carried out the mission.”

Andrew Yang tweeted: “The death of al-Baghdadi is a major blow to ISIS and a testament to our armed forces. It will make the world safer. Congratulations to the special ops team that executed the mission and everyone in the chain of command. This is a great accomplishment for America and the world.”

Twitter Users Hilariously Savage The Washington Post With ‘WaPoDeathNotices’ Hashtag After Al-Baghdadi Bungle

Early Sunday morning, The Washington Post published an article about the death of ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. Cornered in a tunnel, the terrorist leader “detonated a suicide vest, killing himself” and three of his children, reports CBS News.

The original title of the Washington Post piece read: “Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, Islamic State’s ‘terrorist-in-chief,’ dies at 48.” Then, in a bizarre twist, the title was changed to: “Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, austere religious scholar at helm of Islamic State, dies at 48.”

After receiving significant backlash, the title was changed for a final time: “Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, extremist leader of Islamic State, dies at 48.”

On Sunday afternoon, The Washington Post’s Vice President of Communications said the following about the title controversy: “Regarding our al-Baghdadi obituary, the headline should never have read that way and we changed it quickly.”

This ridiculous title shuffle has led to the hashtag #WaPoDeathNotices, which as of publication, is trending at number five on Twitter.

Below are the funniest and most clever fake death notices mocking The Washington Post:

Jeffrey Dahmer, LGBT activist-pioneer, unconventional romantic, and avant-garde gastronomist passed away at age 34 surrounded by his caretakers.

Wicked Witch of the West, devoted sister, broom enthusiast, died suddenly from oversaturation, age unknown.

Adolf Hitler, passionate community planner and dynamic public speaker, dies at 56.

Ted Bundy, unconventional pickup artist, dies, shockingly, at 42.

Emperor Palpatine, austere holder of emergency powers and advocate for democracy, died after a fall.

Nero, emperor who helped Christians bring light to Rome, dies at 30.

Sauron, passionate collector of rare jewelry, dead, age unknown.

John Wayne Gacy, eccentric children’s performer, dies at 52.

John Wilkes Booth, noted thespian, dies at age 24.

Mao Zedong, who saved 20-45 million of his own people from having to suffer through the struggle of existence, dies at 82.

Saddam Hussein, successful politician, oil baron and noted tough boss, dead at 69.

Charles Manson, famous songwriter and meditation leader, dead at 83.

Al Capone, noted self-made entrepreneur, dies at 48.

Heinrich Himmler, passionate chicken farmer, dies unexpectedly at 44.

The contrast between the way The Washington Post headlined the death of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi under President Trump and the way in which the paper headlined the death of Osama Bin Laden under President Obama makes the #WaPoDeathNotices trend all the more important to note.

On May 2, 2011, after it was announced that Osama Bin Ladin had been killed, The Washington Post offered a much more simple headline: “Osama bin Laden killed: Leader of terrorist group al-Qaeda was 54.”

Speaking on Sunday about the operation to take out Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, President Trump stated in part:

The thug who tried so hard to intimidate others spent his last moments in utter fear, in total panic and dread, terrified of the American forces bearing down on him…

Terrorists who oppress and murder innocent people should never sleep soundly, knowing that we will completely destroy them.  These savage monsters will not escape their fate, and they will not escape the final judgment of God…

“Last night was a great night for the United States and for the world. A brutal killer, one who has caused so much hardship and death, has violently been eliminated,” Trump concluded. “He will never again harm another innocent man, woman, or child. He died like a dog. He died like a coward. The world is now a much safer place.”

California Declares State Of Emergency Over Wind And Wildfires As Millions Go Without Power

California has declared a state of emergency, the Associated Press reports, as wildfires and hurricane force winds ravage areas of the state, leaving millions without power.

Governor Gavin Newsom issued a statement Sunday in an attempt to reassure Californians — particularly those in the Bay Area and in Sonoma County where the fires threaten major agriculture and industry — that the state was deploying “every resource available” to battle the blazes.

The wildfires, blazing in Sonoma County and near San Francisco, and further south near Santa Clarita, had already driven more than 50,000 people from their homes by Saturday night when experts predicted a “catastrophic wind event” with hurricane-force gusts. By Sunday, 180,000 people had been told to flee to safer ground and winds up to 80 miles per hour blew across Napa Valley vineyards, causing the fires to take on an “erratic” burn pattern.

It’s the single largest evacuation in California in nearly three decades, according to Fox News.

“Hundreds of people arrived at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds in Santa Rosa by Sunday. Some came from senior care facilities. More than 300 people slept inside an auditorium filled with cots and wheeled beds. Scores of others stayed in a separate building with their pets,” AP reported.

Before the winds arrived, the Kincade Fire, which began Wednesday night, was only 10% contained, and had already burned 47 square miles, destroying nearly 80 structures, according to the Associated Press. Nine people have been reported injured so far, victims of a tree that came crashing down on a farmer’s market near San Francisco, but the casualties are by no means fully counted. The last fire, that swept through largely the same area in 2017, killed 24 people.

As if the wildfires weren’t bad enough, California electricity provider, PG&E, has initiated forced blackouts, cutting power to 2.3 million people statewide, “to avoid fires sparked by electric lines,” according to the LA Times. Many of those people could remain without power until at least Wednesday.

“PG&E said that as of noon Sunday it had shut down power to 940,000 customers, which are defined as an electrical meter that serves a residence or business,” the LA Times reported.

The blackouts are being done in seven phases, according to the California utility, and began at 5pm on Saturday night. They will roll through areas affected by the wildfires through the weekend and into Monday. So far, PG&E reports that five out of the seven areas targeted for blackouts are without power. The last two areas will lose power on Monday.

But even if the fires are contained before Wednesday, customers may still be without power, since PG&E says they must send out utility workers to inspect the affected electrical lines and determine them safe before they can turn the power back on.

PG&E says the blackouts are necessary in order to avoid massive blazes like the ones that raged through California in January and May of 2019, respectively, but Gov. Newsom has blamed PG&E for compounding the problem, and others pointed to signs that a faulty PG&E transmission line may have sparked a fire near Geyserville, California, that is still burning, suggesting that PG&E may be instituing the controlled blackouts out of concerns for their own system’s infrastructure.

On Sunday, as PG&E consumers called for the company to be taken over and electricity declared a public utility, Newsom reached out over the airwaves to Warren Buffett, begging the investor to purchase PG&E, per Business Insider. Such an acquisition is unlikely, however.

Outages are likely to continue until the fires are contained, a process that could take several days.

Trump’s Syria pullout lured the big ISIS rat out of his hole and … boom!

In some cheering weekend news, ISIS’s big terrorist chieftain, founder Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, was rendered into that proverbial grease spot on the desert floor. He won’t be missed.

It’s a victory comparable to the military rubout of al-Qaida founder, Osama bin Laden. According to NBC News:

The world’s most wanted terrorist, Islamic State group leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, was the target of a deadly U.S.-led raid in northwestern Syria, sources told NBC News early Sunday.

Forensic testing is underway, but officials believe al-Baghdadi is among the dead, the sources said.

A U.S. Special Ops mission targeted the ISIS leader near Barisha, Syria, overnight. The mission included helicopters, jets and U.S. drones, the sources said.

The U.S. fired from the air and then landed and gathered intelligence, the sources said. Several others were also killed in a convoy. There were no reports of U.S. casualties.

So much for all that ”expert” opinion in the last few weeks in the mainstream media that President Trump’s pullout of U.S. troops from Syria would inevitably bring the recrudescence of ISIS.

Trump has just shown that it’s not always necessary to stage troops on foreign land to be effective.

In reality, the ISIS leadership just got decapitated, something that’s going to have an impact on global terrorist operations. They just lost their big fish.

It almost makes one wonder if the terrorists themselves were fooled by the media/expert naysaying.

The terrorists, who are known to be voracious watchers of CNN and other mainstream news, decided that Trump was a wimp, a pacifist, a non-fighter for pulling U.S. troops out, Trump wouldn’t fight them, leaving them with a field day. The coast was clear and it didn’t take long before they popped out of their holes.

Boom. That was a mistake.

Such was the thinking of one military expert featured on Fox News, (hat tip: Roger Luchs but thus far, no link at this point), clear enough for even a baby to understand.

Seems Trump had them covered all along and chose the just-right moment to lure them out of their rats nests, blowing them to hell.

And leaving egg all over the faces of the so-called experts.

With pacifists like this, who needs warmongers?

Serial Liar and Leaker Adam Schiff Was NOT Briefed on Raid of ISIS Leader’s Compound

Adam Schiff

The United States military conducted a special operations raid targeting one of its most high-value targets, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the leader of the Islamic State militant group (ISIS), Newsweek reported late Saturday night.

Army Delta Force and Army Rangers led the way and closed in on Baghdadi’s lair in an overnight firefight and the ISIS leader died “crying, whimpering and screaming.”

President Trump watched the raid from the Situation Room, flanked by Vice President Mike Pence, National Security Advisor Robert O’Brien, left; Secretary of Defense Mark Esper and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff U.S. Army General Mark A. Milley, and Brig. Gen. Marcus Evans, Deputy Director for Special Operations……on the Joint Staff, at right.

President Trump deliberately left Congress in the dark about the raid of the ISIS leader’s compound on the northern Syria-Turkish border.

President Trump in a statement on Sunday morning told the press that Congressional leaders were not notified during the attack due to their constant leaks — including Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

It was also revealed that the Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee Adam Schiff (D-CA) received no notification or briefing on the Baghdadi operation.

Adam Schiff is a leaker and a liar so President Trump did the right thing by leaving him in the dark about the special operations raid.

Schiff and Pelosi recently traveled to Jordan to undermine President Trump with shadow diplomacy.

The Democrat leaders met with Jordanian leaders and others to undermine President Trump’s Syrian policy.

President Trump once again asserted his power and showed Pelosi and Schiff that he is the Commander-in-Chief and can make decisions without their permission or input.

Trump keeping Schiff and Pelosi in the dark about the Baghdadi operation shows just how untrustworthy they are with classified information.

Dem Rep. Katie Hill Called Out for Hypocrisy in Wake of Affair with Staffer

So, in the “this aged well” department, I present to you Democrat Rep. Katie Hill of California.

In 2017, Hill — then a director of a non-profit — tweeted out a list of men who had been accused of sexual impropriety. This was at the height of the #MeToo scandal and shortly after the special Senate election in Alabama, where accusations of rape and sexual misconduct with much younger women played a deciding role in Roy Moore’s loss.

In addition to Moore and President Donald Trump, Hill called out “Bill Cosby, Harvey Weinstein, Louis CK, Jeffrey Tambor, Brett Ratner, Al Franken, Ed Westwick, Hamilton Fish, Leon Wieseltier, Terry Richardson, Mark Halperin, Roy Price [and] Kevin Spacey” in the tweet.

“Here’s an idea. How about we put more women in positions of leadership?” she concluded.

TRENDING: Bette Midler Says People Should ‘Be More Grateful for the Neighbor’ Who Assaulted Rand Paul

The people of California’s 25th Congressional District certainly did just that, electing Hill to Congress over Republican Steve Knight in the 2018 midterms. Knight, it’s worth noting, has never been accused of sexual impropriety of any kind. The same cannot now be said for Hill.

On Wednesday, according to The Hill, it was announced that the California freshman had been referred to the House Ethics Committee after a complaint she had engaged in a sexual relationship with a staffer. This came after RedState had obtained compromising pictures of her with a woman who worked on her campaign and alleged she might have had a separate ongoing affair with her campaign finance director, who is male. Hill is openly bisexual.

Do you think Katie Hill is a hypocrite?

“The Committee is aware of public allegations that Representative Katie Hill may have engaged in a sexual relationship with an individual on her congressional staff, in violation of House Rule XXIII, clause 18 (a),” committee Chairman Rep. Ted Deutsch, a Florida Democrat, and ranking Republican Rep. Kenny Marchant of Texas said in a statement.

“The Committee notes that the mere fact that it is investigating these allegations, and publicly disclosing its review, does not itself indicate that any violation has occurred, or reflect any judgment on behalf of the Committee.”

Hill was defiant: “I am beyond grateful for the work the Ethics Committee does to ensure transparency in Congress. I welcome this investigation and will be cooperating fully to clear this matter up,” she said in a statement.

Hill, a rising star within the party, went on to say that the allegations were borne out of a divorce from “an abusive husband” and that “[i]ntimate photos of me and another individual were published by Republican operatives on the internet without my consent.”

In a letter to her constituents, however, she acknowledged a relationship with a female campaign staffer who, according to the U.K. Daily Mail, she was romantically involved with until May of this year. (While she was never a congressional staffer, Federal Election Commission records state that Hill still paid the woman, who was 22 when the relationship began, for “fundraising consulting” as recently as last month.)

RELATED: Rep. McCarthy Says It Took Only 90 Seconds To Destroy Schiff’s Star Witness Testimony

Hill strongly denied an allegation she was sleeping with her campaign finance director, Graham Kelly.

“Allegations that I have been involved in a relationship with Mr. Kelly are absolutely false,” she said in a statement.

The Daily Mail’s article is a rather frank and revealing (a touch too uncomfortably revealing, if you ask me, but nothing if not thorough) look at Hill’s relationship with her subordinate, who apparently formed a throuple with Hill and her estranged husband.

A series of text messages from Hill’s lover, originally obtained by RedState, shows exactly why a relationship with a subordinate is frowned upon. The woman, who we’re not going to name, told Hill that the breakup was “crushing.”

“I am not going to be a toy for you on the weekends,” she said in one message.

“I at least thought you enjoyed that time and that it meant a lot to you. It’s really crushing to find out that it doesn’t.”

“I’m still a mess over you f—ers,” she told Hill’s estranged husband.

“I am still in love with her,” another message read. “It rips my heart out every time I have to see her or have someone say something nice about her.”

In one message, Hill acknowledged that her breakup with the campaign staffer was “maybe partially” because of the “political risk.”

“Honestly though, it’s that I want to be alone,” Hill said. “I don’t want to be accountable to anyone else. I want to be entirely focused on this work that I think is so important.”

In addition to the text messages, there were also pictures showing Hill using drugs — assumedly marijuana — and in the shower with the staffer. (The latter picture wasn’t published by either the Daily Mail or RedState, however.)

Here’s the link to the Daily Mail’s report, which we must warn you contains nudity and other graphic material. Viewer discretion is advised.

Both the RedState and Daily Mail contain salacious details about Hill’s personal life and other potential struggles, the vast majority of which are rather irrelevant here. The important part, however, is the fact that she had a sexual relationship with a woman she hired straight out of college while she was in her 30s. There’s been plenty of talk in the #MeToo era about the power dynamics of having a relationship with someone whose paycheck you sign — something that Hill acknowledged was wrong.

“I know that even a consensual relationship with a subordinate is inappropriate, but I still allowed it to happen despite my better judgment,” she wrote in the letter to her constituents.

“For that I apologize. I wish nothing but the best for her and hope everyone respects her privacy in this difficult time.”

And yet, Hill dragged her into this. Certainly a woman in her 30s knows a lot more about the risks of a relationship like this than a woman just out of college does — and the imbalance of power here is self-evident.

Perhaps, then, it was unsurprising that so many people on social media used her 2017 tweet to point out the hypocrisy:

The Ethics Committee will determine how truthful and forthcoming Rep. Hill is being and whether or not she violated the House rules. What we do know is that if this wasn’t a violation of the rules, it’s still a profound ethical lapse — and an act of rank hypocrisy.

“You Will See Things No One Will Believe!” – President Trump Warns Deep State on Ongoing Durham and Barr Criminal Probe (VIDEO)

Deep State in Deep Panic!

Sean Hannity opened his show on Thursday tonight with breaking news — Attorney General Bill Barr says Prosecutor John Durham’s investigation is now a CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION!

The New York Times reported that DOJ Durham probe has “shifted” from an administrative review of the Russia investigation “to a criminal inquiry.”

On Friday morning President Trump spoke with reporters on the White House lawn before leaving for a rally in South Carolina.

During the questioning President Trump was asked about the now criminal investigation by Attorney John Durham.

President Trump responded: It looks like it’s becoming very serious from what I see. Investigate the investigators. Whether it’s Strzok and Page. Whether it’s Clapper and Comey and all of these people. Because terrible things went on for our country. And we have a great Attorney General, highly prestigious man, a very honorable man. And they’ve been looking at it for a long time. I can’t tell you what’s happening. I will tell you this. I think you’re going to see a lot of really bad things. And a lot of people think that, and they know they have problems, because they were very dishonest. And again I leave it all up to the Attorney General. And I leave it all up to the people who are working with the Attorney General who I don’t know. But I will say this, I think you will see things that no one will believe. This was the worst hoax in the history of our country.
