A company bringing U.S. teachers to China announced Thursday that China arrested two of its members running an English language school on “bogus charges.”
In a post on their Facebook page, China Horizons confirmed the company would be closing down following the arrest of owner Jacob Harlan and director Alyssa Petersen in Jiangsu province last month, citing increasing political and economic problems between the U.S. and China.
“Over the past 17 years we have had the great opportunity to help you experience China in a personal and unique way,” the statement read. “We are grateful for the memories and relationships that have been built over the years.”
“Unfortunately, because of increasing political and economic problems between the U.S. and China, we are no longer able to send teachers to China safely,” it continues. “As a result, our company will be closing our doors at the end of October.”
The statement also announced that the two Americans had been detained for nearly two weeks already while admitting the grim reality that they could face months or even years behind bars.
“Because of the changes that are taking place in China right now the owner, Jacob Harlan, and the director, Alyssa Petersen, have been detained in China for 13 days now and may be so for the next few months or years,” the statement read.
“They are being charged for bogus crimes and their families are working on getting them international lawyers to help them get back home to the states,” it continued. “If you would like more information and would like to help, there are 2 separate GoFundMe accounts that have been created for them both.”
China’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Geng Shuang said he did “not see any concrete links” between their detention and U.S.-China relations.
According to Petersen’s GoFundMe aimed at supporting her legal fees, Petersen was detained by authorities on September 27 and has since been held in a facility in Zhenjiang city and is said to be “doing OK.”
Harlan’s GoFundMe explains that he and his eight-year-old daughter were taken by police from the hotel in which they were staying. His daughter was later allowed to board a flight home to Utah accompanied by a family friend, and the family is said to be “doing well under the circumstances.”
China’s English-teaching industry has seen substantial growth over the past two decades, with thousands of Americans going out to teach for relatively high salaries. However, many face problems securing visas and navigating the strict control of life under the Chinese Communist Party.
Speaking to the South China Morning Post on the condition of anonymity, a U.S. State Department official confirmed that they were monitoring the situation and the detainees were receiving “all appropriate consular services.”
“We are aware of the detention of two US citizens in Jiangsu, China and the charges being brought against them by the provincial government,” the official said. “We take seriously our responsibility to assist US citizens abroad and are monitoring the situation.”

President Donald Trump emphasized Thursday that Vice President Joe Biden’s family reaped rewards from China, while America lost wealth to China.
“The Bidens got rich while America got robbed,” Trump said during his rally in Dallas, Texas.
Trump recalled that Biden’s son Hunter Biden secured a $1.5 billion investment for a private equity fund backed by a Chinese state-owned investment after he traveled with his father to the country in 2013.
Hunter Biden stepped down from the board on Sunday, after Trump put pressure on the family for corruption.
But Trump said that the episode was part of a pattern of Democrat corruption.
“Tonight, we forcefully condemn the blatant corruption of the Democrat party,” he said. “They never pay the price, but maybe soon that will start.”
Past leaders, he argued, allowed China to economically pillage the United States.
“I blame our leaders for allowing this horrible, you know what and pillage, it’s the r-word,” he said, referring to the word “rape.”
Trump added that he almost felt bad about attacking the Bidens, noting that it did not look like the former Vice President would win the Democrat nomination.
“Just look at the terrible foreign corruption of the Bidens,” he said. “I hate to talk about him, you know why? I don’t think the guy’s got a chance. Sleepy Joe, I don’t think he’s got a chance.”
President Donald Trump’s chief of staff told reporters that acting Director of the Citizenship and Immigration Services chief Ken Cuccinelli would make a good leader for the Department of Homeland Security, following the imminent departure of Kevin McAleenan.
Chief of Staff Mike Mulvaney gave Cuccinelli the nod during an afternoon press conference when he was asked if he objected to Cuccinelli getting the job. “What is your objection to his possible appointment?” asked the reporter.
“I have none, and I think Ken would be good at the job,” Mulvaney replied, who has been a quiet and effective supporter of cheap-labor migration for many years. Under his tenure at the Office of Management and Budget, for example, Mulvaney’s deputies have preserved a policy that provides work permits to 100,000 spouses of H-1B visa-workers who are waiting for green cards.
Mulvaney’s public endorsement is a partial win for Cuccinelli, who is the top official at the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services agency.
Cuccinelli is reportedly competing for the job against Mark Morgan, who has worked as acting commissioner of U.S. Customs and Border Protection since July 5.
Both men have been strong and clear supporters of Trump’s effort to shift immigration policy in favor of ordinary Americans.
“The president has made no secret of the fact that he believes immigration, first and foremost, is set up to work for America — that means economically and for the people here,” Cuccinelli told reporters at an October 16 press breakfast organized by the Christian Science Monitor. But finding the right balance between helping Americans workers and American investors is a constant political dilemma, Cuccinelli said:
Is there some perfect [balanced] target point in every industry? Maybe there is, but we’re never going to be able to know it. So which side do you err on? And he has repeatedly emphasized how important it is to protect U.S. workers. Now’s he been clear with me, as well, and you all have heard him say it: he wants to see economic growth and dynamism. And that means, you know, growing companies needing to fill slots. So we’re just in a constant battle to balance those things.
On October 8, Morgan touted Trump’s broad strategy to shut down migration through Mexico. “This represents the fourth month in a row of a steady decline in apprehensions; this is an unprecedented achievement,” he said, adding”
I’ll give you an example. Just four short months ago, our daily apprehensions were close to 5,000 [migrants], and today I just looked at it on my screen before I left my office: It is below 1,700. Thursday night on the radio, LevinTV host Mark Levin discussed a press conference held by acting White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney held earlier that day and how the mainstream media covered it.
During the press briefing at the White House, Mulvaney explained that foreign aid to the Ukraine was held up over the summer in order to see if the country would commit to cooperate with an ongoing Department of Justice investigation regarding potential corruption in the 2016 election. Several in the mediasaid that the acting chief admitted to a “quid pro quo” with Ukrainian officials, which is central to Democrats’ and the media’s Trump impeachment narrative.
Mulvaney explained that conditioning aid money happens “all the time with foreign policy,” adding that funding was being withheld from Central American countries at the same time in order to force their cooperation on immigration policy.
“There is an investigation going on with the Department of Justice. We all know this. [Attorney General] Bill Barr announced it way back when,” Levin explained.
“President of the United States says ‘I want the Ukrainian government to cooperate,’ as he wants the Italian government, the Australian government, and other governments to cooperate. Why is this a scandal? Why is this a problem? It’s not.”
Levin concluded, “The problem is the media do not want Joe Biden investigated. The media do not want the DNC investigated, the Hillary Clinton campaign investigated, they do not want it. They don’t want it.”

Judicial Watch has obtained information indicating Yovanovitch may have violated laws and government regulations by ordering subordinates to target certain U.S. persons using State Department resources. Yovanovitch reportedly ordered monitoring keyed to the following search terms: Biden, Giuliani, Soros and Yovanovitch. Television journalists these days sound so similar to Democrats on impeachment that it’s nearly impossible to tell them apart. Weeks before the impeachment inquiry was even announced, talking heads were passing off Democratic talking points as objective information about the President’s alleged wrongdoing.
In a secret interview, Rep. Adam Schiff, leader of the House Democratic effort to impeach President Trump, pressed former United States special representative to Ukraine Kurt Volker to testify that Ukrainian officials felt pressured to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden’s son Hunter as a result of Trump withholding U.S. military aid to Ukraine.
Volker denied that was the case, noting that Ukrainian leaders did not even know the aid was being withheld and that they believed their relationship with the U.S. was moving along satisfactorily, without them having done anything Trump mentioned in his notorious July 25 phone conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
When Volker repeatedly declined to agree to Schiff’s characterization of events, Schiff said, “Ambassador, you’re making this much more complicated than it has to be.”
The interview took place Oct. 3 in a secure room in the U.S. Capitol. While the session covered several topics, the issue of an alleged quid pro quo — U.S. military aid in exchange for a Ukrainian investigation of the Bidens and a public announcement that such an investigation was underway — was a significant part of the discussion.

Besides calls for impeachment, the Democrats are still calling for President Trump’s tax returns. However, in the case of a successful businessman like President Trump, tax returns will not reveal anything about the President’s integrity. On the other hand, in the case of politicians like Joe Biden, who have never held an honest job in their lives, income taxes are useful in determining if they are on the take.
Moreover, according to the New York Times, Joe Biden reported making over four and half million dollars in 2018. Where did all that money come from? Biden isn’t a competent businessman or investor. Biden spent his entire life feeding at the public trough at the taxpayers’ expense. I just don’t believe, based on Biden’s history for ill thought out remarks and stupidity, that he possesses the mental capacity to make that kind of money honestly. If he did, he would have been out making a fortune on his own, like Donald J. Trump, instead of feeding off of American taxpayers.

that Texas businessman Ed Butowsky filed a lawsuit where he outed reporter Ellen Ratner as his source for information on Seth Rich. The DNC operative was murdered in the summer of 2016 in Washington DC. His murder was never solved. According to the lawsuit Seth Rich provided WikiLeaks the DNC emails before the 2016 election, not Russia.
This totally destroys the FBI and Mueller’s claims that Russians hacked the DNC to obtain these emails.
Butowsky claims in his lawsuit:
Ms. Rattner said Mr. Assange told her that Seth Rich and his brother, Aaron, were responsible for releasing the DNC emails to Wikileaks. Ms. Rattner said Mr. Assange wanted the information relayed to Seth’s parents, as it might explain the motive for Seth’s murder.
On November 9 2016 Ellen Ratner admitted publicly that she met with Julian Assange for three hours the Saturday before the 2016 election. According to Ratner, Julian Assange told her the leaks were not from the Russians, they were from an internal source from the Hillary Campaign.

Newly released documents from the FBI suggest that the Obama White House pushed intelligence agencies to publicly blame the Russians for email leaks from the Democratic National Committee to Wikileaks.
This afternoon I received an undated (and heavily redacted) transcript of an interview of James Rybicki, former chief of staff to former FBI Director James Comey, that includes this excerpt: “So we understand that at some point in October of 2016, there was, I guess, a desire by the White House to make some kind of statement about Russia’s…” and then the next page is omitted.
The comment is made by an unidentified prosecutor from the U.S. Office of Special Counsel or “OSC,” not to be confused with the office of former Special Counsel Robert Mueller (the OSC is a permanent office that investigates Hatch Act violations, and Mr. Comey was under investigation for trying to influence the 2016 Presidential election).

Former NSA whistleblower Bill Binney claims he has evidence the DNC emails were not hacked but copied most likely on to a flashdrive or something similar.

Bill Binney, is more than an expert, he is “A Good American”. Binney developed a system for the NSA that would have identified the 9-11 terrorist attack before it occurred, but the NSA shut down his project. When Ty Clevenger requested documents from the FBI related to any investigation into the death of Seth Rich, they replied that they never investigated Seth Rich and they don’t even have any records on him –
But when documents were requested from the NSA, they replied that they won’t release their records regarding Seth Rich because it’s a matter of national security –
USC 552(b)(1) states: This section does not apply to matters that are—
(A) specifically authorized under criteria established by an Executive order to be kept secret in the interest of national defense or foreign policy and (B) are in fact properly classified pursuant to such Executive order;
So the FBI never investigated the Seth Rich murder even though the NSA said the case was a matter of national security?
Attorney Ty Clevenger requested documents again from the FBI related to any communications related to the death of Seth Rich –
Clevenger claims that the FBI did not perform its search in good faith after first declaring that they did not have to perform the search. Clevenger also claims that his client, Ed Butowsky, has information that the Seth Rich’s devices were inspected and he wants the results of those investigations –
Clevenger wants the FBI to continue their search and not cover things up because their first review for documents related to Seth Rich was inadequate.

Clevenger is making his request based on some new information that he obtained related to actions the FBI took related to Seth Rich. According to Deep State reported Michael Isikoff formerly with Newsweek and now with Yahoo (yes, the same individual involved in the Russia collusion hoax) the FBI had numerous activities related to Seth Rich. On page two of Clevenger’s motion, Clevenger notes the following discussion that can be heard on Isikoff’s podcast –

Ty Clevenger reported that he received a response from the FBI and they basically said that the DOJ was lying. Clevenger writes –
Now, back to today’s events. In the response filed this afternoon, the FBI attacked the statements of Mr. Isikoff and Ms. Hines as “unsworn” and “hearsay,” and it insisted that it did not need to conduct any more searches for records about Mr. Rich. Mind you, I’m just asking the FBI to pick up the phone and call its Computer Analysis Response Team (“CART”) and ask whether CART has any records about Seth Rich. The FBI refuses to do that, even though it has twice called the Washington Field Office (“WFO”) to ask whether WFO had any records about Mr. Rich.
According to the FBI, any CART records would have shown up in the index search of the FBI’s Central Records System (“CRS”). As I explained in a September 17, 2019 motion, however, the FBI had already admitted that not everything gets entered in the CRS. And now we’ve got the former prosecutor who was assigned to Seth Rich’s case admitting that the FBI investigated his electronic devices… yet the FBI refuses to search for records in CART, the place where such records would most likely be found. Suspicious, no?
Judge Bloom scheduled a telephone hearing for 11:15 a.m. on Friday, October 15, 2019, to discuss my motion and the FBI’s response. As you can see from that motion, I’ve asked for permission to take testimony from Ms. Sines, the chief of CART, and the head of the FBI’s FOIA response unit. Somebody’s got some ‘splaining to do.
Hmmm, it sure sounds like the FBI is trying to hide something. Either that or the DOJ is a bunch of liars. Maybe both?
Besides calls for impeachment, the Democrats are still calling for President Trump’s tax returns. However, in the case of a successful businessman like President Trump, tax returns will not reveal anything about the President’s integrity. On the other hand, in the case of politicians like Joe Biden, who have never held an honest job in their lives, income taxes are useful in determining if they are on the take.
