It’s just too delicious.  President Trump ordered U.S. special forces out of Syria to a chorus of howling Democrats and all the old, experienced hands at State and, supposedly, the military.  (I had doubts as well.)  Democrats yelled that all hell was about to break loose.  The Pentagon pulled its hair.  Europe trembled and blanched.  The Mideast girded for something awful.

Everybody thought we had to keep our troops around so the Turks wouldn’t invade Northern Syria and kill off all the Kurds.  Everybody wanted them to negotiate with the Kurds and figured the only way to do that was little by little, by getting allies to reason with Turkey and hem and haw and maybe buy her off as in times past.  Meanwhile, we had to keep the two ancient enemies, Kurds and Turks, apart.

Negotiations would ever happen only if our troops stayed.

Trump saw the situation differently.  As beautifully laid out by Sundance at Conservative Treehouse, removing our guys would leave the intransigent Turks vulnerable to an alliance against them of their many enemies in the region.  This thought didn’t occur to Turkish president Recep Erdoğan, who at first seemed delighted that we were leaving and promptly dispatched his troops into Syria, as everybody had predicted he would.

AT’s Thomas Lifson reports that ABC News was so appalled that it ran footage from a Kentucky gun range video, called it the Turkish invasion, and heaped abuse on Trump for atrocities committed against Kurds.  Even the usually level-headed Andrew Malcolm took the president severely to task for abandoning our Kurdish allies.  George Conway, who has never had a good word to say about the president, styles the troop withdrawal a blunder of historical proportions.

Not so fast, fellas.  The actual result hasn’t been quite what everyone expected.  Erdoğan suddenly understood the box he was in when Trump authorized Treasury secretary Mnuchin to prepare sanctions against Turkey.  By themselves, sanctions haven’t succeeded much in that part of the world.  But in concert with the departure of the U.S., they became a scary signal that Turkey was all by her lonesome.  Having steadfastly refused to negotiate, Erdoğan now nervously rang up Trump and asked for an emergency conference.  Trump sent Vice President Pence and national security adviser O’Brien to mediate negotiations with the Kurds.

These are the long sought negotiations, brought about by U.S. troops leaving.

Only Donald Trump saw it — just as only Donald Trump got North Korea to the table, forced the Chinese to play fair, and got the Mexicans to handle the immigrant caravans on our southern border.  Trump once again exhibits strategic insight not seen in the White House since George Washington.

For conservatives who watched the Democrat debate, it was like visiting Earth-2, as Drunkblogger Stephen Green so cleverly put it.  Conservatives probably could not endure these debates without Stephen Green’s infusion of both facts and humor.

Each of those candidates on the stage seemed oblivious to the reality of the last three years — the fabulous economy, lowest unemployment in decades, international trade renegotiated to our benefit, millions no longer on food stamps.  Our military, eviscerated by Obama, is being repaired.  Manufacturing has been revitalized, and the border, despite the intransigence of the Democrats, is slowly being better controlled.  The wall is being built.  Everything Trump has done since being elected has been effective; he has tried to keep his campaign promises despite the Democrats’ vow to see him impeached from day one.  And no matter how vicious the Left is, those candidates on stage last night continue to opt for mindless delusion that he can be removed from office in order to prevent his re-election.

Meanwhile, the rest of us are grateful for a president willing to fight back against both parties, who have nothing but contempt for Trump-supporters, for the man who means to drain the swamp.  We must be thankful for the distinguished few in the House (the Republicans in the Senate are abject cowards) who have the courage to defend the president.  The swamp was certainly on display throughout the debate.

The Democrats are losing.  Trump and his supporters are winning — on every issue, even Turkey and Syria.  As others have observed, the Left plays checkers while Trump plays 4-D chess.  He is way ahead of his opponents on every level, every issue.  Most Americans like having jobs and like their friends and family members having jobs.  They don’t mind the fact that some people are fabulously wealthy.  Those are the people who fund the countless attractions we take for granted: museums, medical research, hospitals that specialize, university buildings, public television, and a host of other things the rest of us enjoy and take for granted.  Where would we be without the largesse of all the American billionaires and millionaires who have funded so many projects that have enriched us all?  However they attained their wealth is of no interest, nor is how they live their lives.  They have contributed to the public good beyond what any of us can adequately appreciate.

But each and every one of the Democrat presidential candidates loathes and envies the rich.  They mean to punish them.  They want them to pay for all that free college tuition and health care for illegal aliens.  They want to punish all the corporations that produce all the things we take for granted: our vast choices in any grocery store and our freedom to choose our own doctors, cars, where we live, what we watch on television, etc.  Like the true totalitarians they are, they want to tell us what we can have, do, eat, drive, and think.  They want to transform us into communist China.  Nothing would make them happier.  They would all still be rich; the rest of us would be under their thumbs, surveilled as the citizens of China are.  Not one of the Democrat candidates ever mentions the word “freedom” or “liberty.”  This missing link should be the biggest wake-up call of all: they want to control how we live rather than let us live according to the principles of the Founders.

The debate on Tuesday night was the clearest window into how the Democrats mean to rule over us, to dictate how we live, work, eat, educate our kids, and attempt to get good medical care (which will be rationed).  Every one of these candidates would make Lenin and Stalin proud; that is how anti-freedom, anti-capitalist they are.  If elected, any one of them would purposefully destroy the economy.  Any implementation of a “Green New Deal” would, as Stephen Green observed, cost 50 million jobs.  They do not care.  They hate America as founded and are intent upon undoing the greatest nation ever created.

Khrushchev predicted that we would be destroyed from within; “the United States will eventually fly the Communist red flag … the American people will hoist it themselves.”  LeBron James is certainly onboard.  Ben Franklin warned that we’d been given a republic “if we can keep it.”  The Tuesday night debate offered up the most profound difference between the two parties for all to see: between Trump, the America-lover, and the Left, the America-haters.

Hands down, Trump won this debate.  Let us hope the Left’s fantastical, tyrannical vision for America is ephemeral.  The American people are so much wiser than the Left presumes.

Many American farmers are likely to face some tough times as a historic blizzard ruins crops across our country’s heartland, all after some 2020 Democratic presidential candidates insultingly placed at least part of the blame for climate change on them.

Farmers’ tractors, trucks and other fossil fuel-powered machinery are targets of many Democrats’ plans for sweeping climate reform.

Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren, for instance, wants to “decarbonize the agriculture sector.”

Carbon, of course, is one of the main causes for rising global temperatures, according to those pushing climate change talking points.

Former Texas congressman and failed Senate candidate Robert “Beto” O’Rourke promises radical changes in many sectors, including the agricultural industry.

He wants to meet Green New Deal-style goals of net-zero emissions in order to curb the worldwide temperature increases.

If victorious, O’Rourke plans to invest billions in taxpayer money into “research with the most promise to dramatically and rapidly achieve net-zero emissions while growing our economy. This will include funding for a new constellation of DARPA-style efforts into agriculture.”

New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker, meanwhile, claims American farmers are “uniquely positioned” to reduce their own carbon emissions, thus alleviating the greenhouse effect as part of an effort to keep temperatures down.

While all of these candidates are pushing different plans, the message is the same. Rural farmers, through their job-essential equipment, are a major force of climate change, carbonization and global warming.

Unfortunately for farmers in North Dakota, not only are they being blamed for catastrophic temperature increases, but they’re also having to deal with a massive cold weather event that threatens to make entire crops fail.

According to Agweek, the “historic October blizzard” of 2019 comes after monumental September rains, creating a perfect storm of plant-wrecking weather in central North Dakota.

The blizzard is both earlier and stronger than is normal for the region.

It’s believed that the extreme weather will cause quality issues for soybeans and other crops, forcing farmers to sell a lower-quality product — if they can harvest it at all. Snow and ice over already wet ground is proving to be a nightmare for the operation of heavy machinery.

“Would you drive your combine on a lake with 2-3 inches of ice?” one farmer said. “Fields will be no different.”

While some claim climate change could lead to worse blizzards, it seems like earlier and colder weather is the complete opposite of what Al Gore and other climate fanatics have predicted for years.

The reality for farmers in North Dakota is much worse than starving polar bears and melting ice caps.

As they deal with the fallout from a record blizzard, they now risk becoming guinea pigs for any Democrat who might win the presidency.

Already crippled by a bad year, possible forced replacement of reliable farm equipment with expensive “green” alternatives and methods would likely be a death blow to many American farms.

Project Veritas has released part two of its undercover video of CNN, and it shows the network’s leaders talking about the 2020 Democratic presidential candidates and appearing to pick favorites.

The audio and videos were secretly recorded and provided to Project Veritas by Cary Poarch, a contractor who was working for CNN at the network’s bureau in Washington, D.C.

“I just want us to have a free and fair election,” Poarch said. “We get the information presented to us and we can pull the lever for whoever we want.”

But from the footage Poarch captured over a series of months, there is rampant bias all over the company, starting from the top.

In a 9 a.m. rundown call, CNN President Jeff Zucker and CNN Vice President and Political Director David Chalian talked about Democratic candidate Andrew Yang.

Zucker asked Chalian if they were taking Yang seriously enough.

“We should definitely be looking at why Andrew Yang is resonating,” Chalian replied. “Do I think he’s a likely nominee? No, I don’t.”

According to CNN Media Coordinator Christian Sierra, the network treats some presidential candidates differently, particularly “Yang and [Minnesota Sen. Amy] Klobuchar.”

“Just ’cause they’re going to talk about [former Vice President Joe] Biden more, [Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth] Warren and [Vermont Sen. Bernie] Sanders. They’re not going to mention others,” he said. “They want to cover the people who are on the top. They don’t want to cover the bottom.”

It is also clear who CNN does not like.

“I think the one they don’t like is Tulsi, they don’t like [Hawaii Rep.] Tulsi Gabbard,” Sierra said. “Because she supports [Syrian President Bashar] Assad and she is, she’s not taking a conventional route when it comes to one policy, stuff like that.”

Even though it is pretty clear Zucker wants a Democrat to be president, Sierra doesn’t know if the CNN president has a favorite.

“He donated before to Kamala Harris when she was running for Senate in California. Um, but, I think he kind of likes [South Bend, Indiana, Mayor] Pete [Buttigieg], but I can tell he also likes Biden and Warren,” Sierra said.

As Project Veritas reported, it seems that for Zucker, the election reporting is more about ratings and less about providing fair coverage.

In another phone call, the CNN president said the network should cover Harris’ call to suspend President Donald Trump’s Twitter account.

“It’s not going to happen, but I think it’s a good segment in the show,” Zucker said.

According to footage of CNN Media Coordinator Nick Neville, broadcasting Biden’s rallies would not be good for ratings.

“They probably think it’s boring. I mean, Biden rallies are like, ugh,” he said. “People would change the channel.”

As CNN is preparing to host Tuesday night’s Democratic debate, Poarch said the network should “just get back to the facts and get back to reporting news” if it wants to be a reliable news outlet.
