FLASHBACK – Hillary Clinton: ‘China, If You’re Listening … Get Trump’s Tax Returns’

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton publicly asked the People’s Republic of China in May to release President Donald Trump’s tax returns — exactly the same act that Democrats and the media claim warrants impeachment.

Clinton, the defeated 2016 Democratic Party nominee for president, appeared on MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow Show on May 1, 2019. She repeated Trump’s joke from July 2016 — which was taken seriously enough by President Barack Obama and the intelligence community to provide a pretext for eavesdropping on the Trump campaign — in which he said, “Russia, if you’re listening, I hope you’re able to find the 30,000 [Clinton] e-mails that are missing.”

As Breitbart News reported in May, the former secretary of state told Maddow that since Senate Republicans declined to pass Democrat-sponsored bills to secure American elections against foreign interference, the left should openly enlist the aid of Chinese espionage (transcript via MSNBC):

Hillary Clinton: The Republicans in the Senate wouldn’t at all go forward with some of the bipartisan legislation that was meant to secure our elections under orders from the White House.

Imagine, Rachel, that you had one of the Democratic nominees for 2020 on your show, and that person said, you know, the only other adversary of ours who is anywhere near as good as the Russians is China. So, why should Russia have all the fun?  And since Russia is clearly backing Republicans, why don’t we ask China to back us.

Rachel Maddow: I hereby tonight ask China –

Hillary Clinton:  That`s right. And not only that, China, if you’re listening, why don’t you get Trump’s tax returns.  I’m sure our media would richly reward you.

Now according to the Mueller report, that is not conspiracy because it’s done right out in the open.

So, if after this hypothetical Democratic candidate says this on your show, within hours, all of a sudden, the IRS offices are bombarded with incredibly sophisticated cyber tools looking for Trump’s tax returns, and then extracts and them and then passes them to whatever the new WikiLeaks happens to be and they start being unraveled and disclosed – nothing wrong with that.

I mean, if you`re going let Russia get away with what they did and are still doing according to Christopher Wray, the current FBI director, who said that last week, they’re in our election systems.  We’re worried about 2020, he said.

So, hey, let`s have a great power contest, and let’s get the Chinese in on the side of somebody else.  Just saying that shows how absurd the situation we find ourselves in.

No one called for Clinton to be investigated, much less prosecuted.

This week, however, Democrats and journalists alike declared that Trump deserved to be impeached for calling, openly, for China and Ukraine to investigate alleged corruption tied to former Vice President Joe Biden, a 2020 candidate for the Democratic Party nomination.

Democrats have been searching for Trump’s old tax returns for years, convinced that they contain incriminating or at least politically embarrassing information. In 2017, Maddow produced his 2005 tax return — which showed he paid a significant amount in taxes.

Apple Blacklists Hong Kong Protest Safety App

Tech giant Apple has reportedly blacklisted an app that allows people in Hong Kong to track protests and police activity in the city, claiming that distributing such information is illegal.

The Register reports that tech giant Apple has banned an app that allowed individuals in Hong Kong to track the location of protests and police activity in the city, stating that providing this information was illegal. Apple told the maker of the HKmap Live app: “Your app contains content – or facilitates, enables, and encourages an activity – that is not legal … specifically, the app allowed users to evade law enforcement.”

The makers have argued that other apps have taken exception to these laws as they simply provide location data, if these rules were to be applied universally location-based apps such as Waze would also be banned. But, the app is used solely to track police activity and protest movements. The Register notes that as of 3:00 am Hong Kong time, messages on the app read: “After the tear gas was applied, the police officer immediately returned to the police station.” Another reads: “Four flashing lights parked at the police station door.”

The makers of the app complained that “Apple assume our users are lawbreakers and therefore evading law enforcement, which is clearly not the case.” Hong Kong protests have escalated recently and are now in their fifth month with neither side appear to back down. The Chinese government is attempting to crack down on unrest but is hesitant to intervene militarily out of fear that it could result in a situation similar to the Tiananmen Square massacre of 1989.

Protesters are angered by China’s growing influence over the province, beginning with a new bill that would make it easier to extradite people to China’s mainland from Hong Kong. When the legislature refused to withdraw the bill and used harsh police tactics to crack down on protesters, the situation escalated drastically. HKmap Live service is also available on the Web so it isn’t entirely reliant on the now-removed iPhone app and Apple users in Hong Kong will still be able to access the service for as long as it remains online.

Botched vandalism of British Treasury leaves climate-change protesters red-faced — literally

A beetroot-infused palate cleanser that comes with an important lesson:

If you absolutely must have a fire truck for your protest stunt, don’t try to save a buck by buying it it off eBay, for cripes sake. These people are lucky the tank didn’t explode, or that the dancing hose didn’t whip around at a bystander. Someone could have been hurt.

Or, worse, they would have all been stained crimson from head to toe and I would have had to make a pitiful joke about how “the Greens really are Reds after all.”

I suppose the protesters’ metaphor still works, though, no? The Treasury was supposed to be “blood-stained” because of the government’s climate policies; instead, “blood is running in the streets” because of them. Something something blood, something something climate change. Close enough.

Antifa Calls for Black Bloc Protest at Minneapolis Trump Rally: ‘America is Cancelled’

Antifa has put out a call for a black bloc protest at the Minneapolis Trump rally on October 10, declaring that “America is cancelled.”

Black bloc is a tactic in which the far-left protesters dress in black from head to toe and cover their faces with black masks. The tactic is meant to make it more difficult for police to identify those who break the law during a riot.

“Trump is having a campaign rally in downtown Minneapolis. He wants to keep America great, but… AMERICA IS CANCELED,” the call to action posted on a popular Antifa website declared.

The website continues on to say, “join us to celebrate with an anti-capitalist bloc. Bring yourself, bring your friends, bring your crew and come prepared to disrupt the nightmare that is Trump.”

The Trump rally is scheduled to take place on October 10 at the Target Center. Antifa is urging other activists to “meet at the ‘America is Canceled’ banner.”

Antifa has a long history of violence and harassment of those who support the president. Just last week, they harassed an elderly couple who was attempting to attend a free speech event in Canada featuring classical liberal Dave Rubin.

DNC Demands Facebook ‘Fact Check’ Trump Ads

The DNC believes Facebook is not being anti-Trump enough, and wants the social network to “fact check” ads from the president’s campaign.

CNN reported that DNC Chief Executive Seema Nanda said that she was “deeply disappointed in Facebook’s decision to exempt statements from political candidates from its fact-checking policy” after the social network announced it would not fact-check politicians.

“We know that Trump has an utter disregard for the truth,” Nanda told CNN.

“Social media platforms have a responsibility to protect our democracy and counter disinformation online. This is a serious missed opportunity by Facebook.”

This came after Facebook said it is not the job of a tech company to “referee political debate.”

The comments, from former British Liberal Democrat leader and arch-Europhile Nick Clegg, now a VP at Facebook, were a rare moment of self-restraint for the company. They were published in full on Facebook’s official blog.

“We don’t believe, however, that it’s an appropriate role for us to referee political debates and prevent a politician’s speech from reaching its audience and being subject to public debate and scrutiny,” said Clegg. “That’s why Facebook exempts politicians from our third-party fact-checking program. We have had this policy on the books for over a year now, posted publicly on our site under our eligibility guidelines. This means that we will not send organic content or ads from politicians to our third-party fact-checking partners for review.”

However, Clegg added that even this voluntary policy of restraint has its limits, stating that the company would suppress posts from politicians in some circumstances.

“When a politician shares previously debunked content including links, videos and photos, we plan to demote that content, display related information from fact-checkers, and reject its inclusion in advertisements,” said Clegg.

Demi Lovato Apologizes Amid Backlash for Visiting Israel: ‘I Realize It Hurt People’

Pop superstar Demi Lovato has apologized after facing backlash for visiting Israel, and insisted that “no one told” her that there would be any issue with her visiting the country.

Lovato uploaded several pictures from Israel to her Instagram account on Wednesday, including photos of her being baptized in the Jordan River, visiting the Western Wall in Jerusalem, and touring the Yad Vashem Holocaust memorial and museum.

In a post to her over 70 million followers, Lovato explained how she had Jewish ancestry and felt that Israel was a “magical country.”

I am an American singer. I was raised Christian and have Jewish ancestors. When I was offered an amazing opportunity to visit the places I’d read about in the Bible growing up, I said yes.

There is something absolutely magical about Israel.  I’ve never felt such a sense of spirituality or connection to God…something I’ve been missing for a few years now.  Spirituality is so important to me…to be baptized in the Jordan river – the same place Jesus was baptized – I’ve never felt more renewed in my life.

This trip has been so important for my well-being, my heart, and my soul.  I’m grateful for the memories made and the opportunity to be able to fill the God-sized hole in my heart. Thank you for having me, Israel.

However, the 27-year-old singer faced an immediate backlash from anti-Israel campaigners, who accused her of undermining the Palestinian cause in the ongoing conflict.

“I’m extremely frustrated. I accepted a free trip to Israel in exchange for a few posts. No one told me there would be anything wrong with going or that I could possibly be offending anyone,” she complained. “With that being said, I’m sorry if I’ve hurt or offended anyone.”

“Sometimes people present you with opportunities and no one tells you the potential backlash you could face in return,” she continued. “This was meant to be a spiritual experience for me, NOT A POLITICAL STATEMENT and now I realize it hurt people and for that I’m sorry.”

Lovato, who nearly died last year of a heroin overdose, has occasionally waded into political debates with regard to LGBT rights, mental health, and the imposition of stricter gun laws.

In 2016, she spoke at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia about raising awareness for mental health, while she also performed at the anti-Second Amendment March for Our Lives rally in Washington, D.C. in March last year.

‘South Park’ Roasts Hollywood for Appeasing Communist China

Wednesday night’s episode of South Park took Hollywood to task for meekly allowing China to censor its movies and TV shows in exchange for reaching that huge Asian audience and their money.

In the episode, Stan Marsh is approached by a Chinese film company when his heavy metal rock band begins turning heads. The Chinese filmmakers say that they think his group is the next big thing in music, and they want to make a biopic about the band’s beginning.

Stan agrees and soon the band is filming its story with the help of a Chinese film company. But at nearly every turn, Stan and his band find the Chinese censors telling them what they can and can’t say, especially when it comes to describing the United States as a land of freedom.

“You got to lower your ideals of freedom if you want to suck on the warm teat of China,” the American director working for the Chinese film company tells Stan and his crew.

When Stan complains about being forced to rewrite the story the kids are trying to tell, the director takes aim at Hollywood for allowing China to censor everything without complaints.

“Come on, guys,” the film producer says to the boys. “Everyone else is fine with China approving our entertainment. Even the PC Babies don’t seem to mind. And PC Babies cry about everything!”

Eventually, Stan quits the film and goes back to the same farm he lives on that he hated so much that it goaded him to write his angry music in the first place.

“I want to get away from that farm. More than anything. But it’s not worth living in a world where China controls my country’s art,” a disgruntled Stan says.

The episode sharply highlights Hollywood’s meekness in the face of constant censorship that takes an ax to Hollywood’s vaunted “artistic integrity.”

A few years ago, for instance, the James Bond flick Skyfall was heavily edited to take out the Chinese bad guys for its debut in the communist nation. In another case, Hollywood stood by silent as Chinese censors took out all positive references to Taiwan in a historical epic. Last year, the communist bosses set out on a massive censorship campaign to eliminate the portrayal of fantasy elements — such as magic and demons — frim TV shows aired in China.

These instances are not isolated examples. China meddles with just about every Hollywood film it allows in Chinese theaters. They also outright ban films. A few years ago, the communist nation refused to allow productions based on WInnie the Pooh into China, and last year pop singer Justin Bieber’s music was banned.

NEW: Encrypted Text Messages Show US Ambassador Defending President Trump Over Ukraine Call, ‘No Quid Pro Quo’s of Any Kind’

Former Ukrainian envoy Kurt Volker testified Thursday morning before the House Intelligence, Foreign Affairs, and Oversight committees.

Volker resigned from his post last week.

Kurt Volker’s name appeared in the partisan CIA “whistleblower’s” complaint against President Donald Trump’s dealings with the Ukraine.

On Thursday Republicans told reporters that Volker said nothing that comports with the Democrat Party’s latest impeachment accusations during his closed-door session on Capitol Hill.

Fox News obtained encrypted text messages sent between Kurt Volker and other US officials such US Ambassador to the EU Gordon Sondland and Chargé d’Affaires of the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine Bill Taylor.

The text messages show US Ambassador to the EU defending Trump and making it clear there was no quid pro quo in the President’s communications with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Meanwhile, new encrypted text messages obtained by Fox News show Volker and other U.S. officials battling internally last month over whether Trump was engaged in a “quid pro quo” with Ukraine as he pressed for the country to look into the Biden family, while holding back U.S. aid. The texts with Volker, U.S. Ambassador to the EU Gordon Sondland and Chargé d’Affaires of the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine Bill Taylor indicate that the nature of a potential arrangement between the U.S. and Ukraine was a matter of dispute.

“As I said on the phone, I think it’s crazy to withhold security assistance for help with a political campaign,” Taylor said in a text exchange.

Sondland responded by saying that was not what was happening. “Bill, I believe you are incorrect about President Trump’s intentions. The President has been crystal clear: no quid pro quo’s of any kind. The President is trying to evaluate whether Ukraine is truly going to adopt the transparency and reforms that President Zelensky promised during his campaign.”

Both men then agreed to cease discussing the matter over text, noting that phone calls with the appropriate officials would be preferable.

The transcript of the July 25 phone call between President Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was declassified and released last week.

The exchange between Trump and Zelensky was very pleasant. There were no threats, no quid pro quo and Zelensky said many times that he was never threatened by Trump.

Joe Biden previously threatened to withhold over $1 billion in aid from Ukraine if Ukraine didn’t fire Viktor Shokin, the prosecutor investigating Hunter Biden’s corrupt dealings with Burisma Holdings, a Ukrainian natural gas company.

Shokin was fired and Biden bragged about it during a 2018 speech to the Council on Foreign Relations and now the Democrat-media complex is pinning the scandal on Trump.
