HAMMER: Who Will Stand For The Forgotten American?

The forgotten American is the blue-collar taxpayer who attends church on Sundays. He toils diligently so that he can put bread on the table for his family and children, but he lives paycheck-to-paycheck on a tight budget. He is frustrated that neither major political party seems attuned to the quotidian trials and tribulations that necessarily come, in today’s society, with raising numerous children while fiscally constrained. Who will stand not with the cronyist interests of Silicon Valley or the corporatist interests of Wall Street, but for the economic interests of the forgotten American family man?

The forgotten American is the law-abiding patriot who has never had a skirmish with law enforcement more dire than a speeding ticket. He proudly exercises his Second Amendment right and owns firearms to protect home and hearth. But he also believes it is a core function of government to ensure law and order by locking up murderers, rapists, sex offenders, drug traffickers, burglars, and other appalling criminals. He is frustrated that neither major political party seems attuned to the fact that deterring crime and removing the worst of the worst from the streets is an indispensable tenet of the American social contract. Who will stand against the leftist/libertarian jailbreak alliance, and will stand athwart the under-incarceration epidemic that wreaks havoc on the safety of the forgotten, law-abiding American?

The forgotten American believes in sovereignty and the integrity of the nation-state. He accepts the truism that to lack borders is to lack a nation itself and, as such, he opposes illegal immigration. He believes that the federal government’s response has been woefully inadequate to the phenomenon of augmented transnational criminal cartels trafficking economically motivated faux-asylee human migrants for profit. He is frustrated that neither major political party seems committed to deploying the resources necessary to protect the republic’s territorial and narcotics-related integrity against the siege of military-style, Hezbollah-intertwined cartels. He is distressed that neither major political party seems attuned to those who oppose the social transformation without representation that is imposed via the diktats of judicial amnesty. Who will stand not with the open-borders lobby, but with the forgotten American who values the nation-state and wants to see criminal aliens deported en masse?

The forgotten American keeps his copy of the U.S. Constitution in his bedside nightstand. He has read this simple, straightforward document and he cherishes the unbounded political wisdom embedded therein. He is a big proponent of the Tenth Amendment and believes that politicians and lawless judges alike have been complicit in fundamentally distorting the original relationship between the states and federal government that James Madison once described in The Federalist No. 45. But he has also read the Supremacy Clause of Article VI of the Constitution, and he therefore understands that sanctuary state and sanctuary city jurisdictions across the nation operate today in subversive, neo-Confederate fashion. Who will stand against the modern-day analogue of John C. Calhoun-style thought and will instead stand for the uncountable forgotten American victims of sanctuary jurisdiction-abetted violent crime?

The forgotten American is both pro-science and pro-common sense. He knows from rudimentary biology, the Book of Genesis, and observable human nature alike that there are two distinct genders: Male and female. He has immense compassion and sympathy for those suffering from gender dysphoria, but he believes in neither bestowing social affirmation upon mental illnesses nor in incentivizing doctors to violate the Hippocratic Oath via genital mutilation “surgery.” Furthermore, he worries greatly about the fact that biological males may well soon be permitted to enter his daughter’s high school girls’ locker room with impunity. Who will stand not with the de-civilization agenda of those would seek to redefine and ultimately eviscerate God’s man/female biological complementarity, but with the forgotten American who believes in biological and biblical truth?

Iraq: Internet switched off and at least 33 killed as protests break out

Iraq is suddenly looking a bit like Hong Kong. But in Baghdad police were quick to open fire on protesters with live ammunition as the government shut down the internet to stop the flow of information:

Anti-government demonstrators defied an around-the-clock curfew in Baghdad and other cities Thursday as Iraqi security forces used live ammunition and tear gas during a third day of unrest that has left 33 people dead, most of them protesters.

Authorities cut internet access in much of Iraq since late Wednesday in a desperate move to curb the rallies. By Thursday afternoon, the curfew was extended to three other southern provinces…

Middle East expert Jennifer Cafarella, with the Washington-based Institute for the Study of War, said the immediate and widespread use of force against protesters in multiple provinces demonstrates “that the security forces are overwhelmed by the volume and rate of spread” of the rallies.

The protests began Tuesday and appear to spread very quickly. The source of the protester’s anger is economic more than political, though protesters are calling for the ouster of the current government:

The latest violence began as sporadic protests earlier in the week with demonstrators demanding an end to government corruption, nationwide unemployment and a crippling lack of basic services such as electricity and clean water…

Some of the protesters’ demands include the “fall of the regime” and demonstrators have set government and political party buildings ablaze in two southern provinces.

In addition, Al-Monitor reports there is a strain of anti-Iranian influence to the protests, pointing to several incidents in recent weeks which fueled public anger:

Many protesters called for a homeland, or watan, in Arabic, and some also shouted slogans against Iran for interfering in Iraqi matters and supporting failed parties in Iraq…

Last week, the prime minister dismissed the deputy commander of Iraq’s counterterrorism bureau, Abdul-Wahab al-Saadi, provoking anger and discontent among Iraqis. Many protesters carried photos of Saadi at the protests.

Saadi’s dismissal caused discontent in several political parties, including the National Wisdom Movement, the Sadrist movement and Osama al-Nujaifi’s Iraqi Decision Coalition, raising suspicions over Iranian interference in his dismissal, as he was independent of Iranian proxies in Iraq, whether in the Iraqi army or the PMU.

In another incident, the Iranian ambassador in Baghdad, Iraj Masjedi, said in a TV interview with Dijlah channel last week that Iran would target the United States in Iraq if the United States threatened Iran. Iraqis took this as clear Iranian interference in Iraqi matters.

Because the internet is down today, video of what is happening is limited. In this clip from yesterday you can hear gunshots which cause a large mass of protesters to turn and run:

In this more recent video, protesters burn a police vehicle:

This Al Jazeera report contains some good interviews. One man says Iraqis are begging on the streets and when they come out to protest they are being shot at by security forces from Iran.

Pelosi’s Drug Plan Will Cost American Lives

Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has released her sweeping plan to address the cost of prescription drugs. Notably, the plan includes not only burdensome taxes on prescription drugs, but also draconian provisions to permit so-called government “negotiation of prices,” in reality price controls. We do not need to conjecture about the effects of these policies, we know what they will do — deter drug innovation and reduce access to life-saving medication.

Why does the pro-life community care about drug pricing?

Since its inception, the National Right to Life Committee and those in the pro-life community have been equally concerned with protecting older people and people with disabilities from euthanasia as with protecting the unborn from abortion. We have long believed that the involuntary denial of life-saving medical treatment is a form of involuntary euthanasia, and therefore have opposed government rationing of health care.

Simply put, laws like Pelosi’s proposal prevent people from accessing current life-saving medication, and prevent new innovative medications from coming to market. This is government rationing.

Dating back several decades, NRLC worked to fight the 1994 Clinton Health Care Plan’s proposed insurance premium price controls because they would have forced rationing.

TRENDING: Rashida Tlaib Has Been Duped by an Inaccurate Racial Story for the 4th Time in 2019

In 2003, NRLC scored a vote in favor of the Medicare Prescription Drug, Improvement, and Modernization Act (H.R. 1) because it empowered older Americans to avoid involuntary denial of life-saving treatment by giving them this option, both for the “core” Medicare benefit that includes life-saving medical treatment and the new prescription drug benefit. In 2019-10 we fought against the inclusion of numerous provisions in the Obama health care plan, and worked to see its most egregious rationing provision, the Independent Payment Advisory Board repealed in 2018. IPAB’s sweeping powers could have limited not just Medicare spending, but also health care paid for with nongovernmental dollars.

Having access to health care is a pro-life priority.

Medicare, while only paying a limited amount of the real cost of the care, is able to deliver high-quality health benefits and prescription drugs.

How?

Are you worried what this plan would do to the innovation of life-saving drugs?

0% (0 Votes)

In large part, by cost-shifting from Americans who have private insurance. However, the Pelosi plan, through both onerous taxes and price controls, won’t merely apply price caps to just Medicare; it would apply to the sales of impacted drugs in every corner of the health care system –- destroying any current ability to offset costs of life-saving drugs.

The Pelosi plan would require drug companies to “negotiate” Medicare prices with the federal government for up to 250 drugs that do not have a generic version. If companies refuse to agree to the government-set rates, they would face a 95 percent penalty tax on gross sales of each drug. The companies would also be required to use these so-called “negotiated” rates in the private market, where over half of Americans have their care.

A study analyzing the availability of drugs released between 2011 and 2018 showed that Americans have access to nearly 90 percent of new medications. However, in 14 countries including Canada, Japan and the U.K. with government-set drug pricing or price controls, people only had access, on average, to only 47 percent of new drugs.

The bottom line is that drug price controls like this will limit access to life-saving drugs. Drug price controls have a devastating effect on the development of new life-saving drugs. Research and development are financed by investors, and investment in pharmaceutical development is risky. Many promising leads fail to work out and never make it to market.

According to a 2018 ongoing analysis conducted by Deloitte, returns on research and development “have declined to 1.9 percent, down from 10.1 percent in 2010 — the lowest level in nine years … Returns have been impacted by the growing cost of bringing a drug to market which now stands at [$2.168 billion] — almost double the [$1.188] billion recorded in 2010.”

RELATED: Pelosi, Schiff Channel Goebbels’ and Hitler’s Big Lie

Nonetheless, America remains the world leader in the development of new life-changing drugs. According to the 2018 report from the Council of Economic Advisers, “Reforming Biopharmaceutical Pricing at Home and Abroad,”

The U.S. government and biopharmaceutical industry have been the central engines in lowering the price of better health for patients worldwide by being both the world leaders in biopharmaceutical innovation as well as the source of innovative returns to those investing in such innovations. The U.S. market makes up 46 percent of … sales of brand name innovative drugs, funds about 44 percent of world medical R&D, invests 75 percent of global medical venture capital, and holds the intellectual property rights for most new medicines.

Those who say drugs are overpriced often compare the high price of an innovative, breakthrough drug with the low cost of its production. They wrongly conclude that the patient is being “gouged” to produce “windfall” profits. This perspective fails to recognize not only the huge development costs for that drug, but the high odds against any given potential drug ever getting to the market and then actually making money. Only the possibility of a high rate of return can induce investors to invest on the few drugs that come to market.

Under current law, prices are negotiated by competing private insurers, not simply accepted at a level set by the drug companies. However, there are checks and balances on these negotiations by private parties that help prevent them from driving prices so low as to result in rationing and harm to new drug development — checks and balances not present when the government steps in to set prices.

It was precisely because policymakers recognized this, and feared its impact on the ability to develop new lifesaving drugs, that the 2003 Medicare bill set up the prescription benefit in a way so as to break up the negotiating process for drug prices among a variety of insurance plans, and prohibited the federal government from interfering in those negotiations.

Under new government price setting, the Pelosi plan would drive most companies out of the process of innovation, if not out of business altogether.

Understandably, people focus on the large amounts they are spending for new drugs. However, it is thanks to the abundance of more effective cutting-edge drugs and access to them that more Americans are able to enjoy a longer and enhanced quality of life.

Certainly there are common-sense fixes for many of the cost issues involving changes to how generic drugs come to market, or dealing with problems in individual drug pricing (like insulin). While the Pelosi plan might save money it will do so at an astonishing cost to innovation, access and lives — not only for those in Medicare, but for all Americans.

CNN Refuses To Run Trump Re-Election Ad That Hammers Biden on Ukraine Situation

Conservatives disgusted by the daily doses of propaganda from American mainstream media outlets might sometimes think the networks wouldn’t tell the truth if you paid them to.

When it comes to CNN, as it turns out, that’s literally true.

The liberal network is refusing to air an advertisement from President Donald Trump’s 2020 re-election campaign because it describes the kind of coercion former Vice President Joe Biden used on the government of Ukraine while he was in office.

And it describes CNN personalities like Don Lemon and Chris Cuomo as “lapdogs” to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

Oddly enough, CNN is claiming there’s something about that’s not true in the spot.

TRENDING: Rashida Tlaib Has Been Duped by an Inaccurate Racial Story for the 4th Time in 2019

Check the ad out here:

From a factual viewpoint, there’s not much to argue with here.

As anyone who’s been following the current controversy over Trump’s dealings with Ukraine knows by now, Biden actually bragged to an audience on camera that in 2016, while he was the vice president, he linked $1 billion in U.S. aid to Ukraine getting rid of a prosecutor who was investigating a Ukraine energy company that had Biden’s son on its payroll at an obscene salary.

Do you think other networks will refuse Trump ads as the 2020 election gets closer?

0% (0 Votes)

0% (0 Votes)

Also, in the now-infamous July 25 telephone call between Trump and Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky, Trump sought his counterpart’s help in looking into potential corruption, both involving Ukraine officials and the events surrounding the 2016 presidential election that swept Trump into office.

(It’s true the word “corruption” doesn’t appear in the transcript of the phone call released by the White House, but it’s hard to argue that “corruption” doesn’t cover what Trump is describing.)

And as the world knows by now, of course, the Democrats are, in fact, trying to impeach Trump.

Still, CNN is declining to run the ad.

“CNN is rejecting the ad, as it does not meet our advertising standards,” a CNN representative said, according to The Daily Beast. “Specifically, in addition to disparaging CNN and its journalists, the ad makes assertions that have been proven demonstrably false by various news outlets, including CNN.”

RELATED: De Niro Goes on Vulgar Tirade Against Fox News and Trump During Live CNN Interview

Well, there are no assertions that have been “proven demonstrably false” by CNN or anyone else.

So what CNN is likely objecting to is its employees being referred to as Democrats’ “media lapdogs.” The ad features video of CNN’s Jim Acosta, Chris Cuomo and Don Lemon as well as MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow. (Fox’s Shepard Smith somehow didn’t make the cut.)

Simply put, if the network didn’t wish its biggest names to be referred to as “lapdogs” of the nation’s opposition party, it would behoove its executives not to allow their biggest names to behave like Democratic lapdogs.

Tim Murtagh, the Trump 2020 communications director, fired back at CNN in a statement according to The Daily Beast.

“CNN spends all day protecting Joe Biden in their programming, so it’s not surprising that they’re shielding him from truthful advertising too, and then talking to other media outlets about it,” the statement said.

“Our ad is entirely accurate and was reviewed by counsel, and CNN wouldn’t even describe to us what they found objectionable. This isn’t a cable news channel anymore, it’s a Democrat public relations firm.”

As The Daily Beast noted, it’s not the first time CNN has rejected an ad from the Trump White House. In May 2017, it turned down another spot celebrating Trump’s first 100 days in office, because it called mainstream media outlets “fake news.”

So, it’s happened before, and it’s likely to happen again.

Hard as it might be to believe, there’s still more than a year to go before the 2020 election, but the marker CNN put down with this decision is tough to miss.

It is is willing to forego money from Trump’s re-election team. And it’s shameless enough to cite utterly spurious grounds to justify keeping the president’s messages from getting out in situations where it has the power to do so.

In the end, though, CNN is just proving what conservatives have long suspected.

The network won’t tell the truth if you paid it.

‘Unsubstantiated’ Is NY Times’s Favorite Word When Republicans Accuse Democrats

The New York Times has used the term “unsubstantiated” with embarrassing regularity to talk about the charges of Biden family nepotism highlighted by President Trump. Virtually every Times story on the Biden allegations employs that adjective as a warning, signaling Republican partisanship. It’s quite the double standard. The sharp contrast was also demonstrated during the 2004 presidential campaign pitting incumbent George W. Bush against Democratic Sen. John Kerry, whose Vietnam war record came under assault by the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth. “Unsubstantiated…

ANOTHER LEAK: IRS ‘Whistleblower’ Using Second-Hand Info Claims Treasury Appointee May Have Tried to Interfere in Audit of Trump or Pence

Another day, another leak — and another Deep State ‘whistleblower.’

This time the ‘whistleblower’ is a career IRS official who filed a complaint with second-hand knowledge then leaked the story to the Washington Post.

A career IRS official filed a whistleblower complaint reporting that he was told at least one Treasury Department political appointee attempted to improperly interfere with the annual audit of President Trump’s or Vice President Mike Pence’s tax returns.

This news comes on the heels of a Deep State CIA snitch who filed a whistleblower complaint based on hearsay and gossip about Trump’s phone call to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Via WaPo:

An Internal Revenue Service official has filed a whistleblower complaint reporting that he was told at least one Treasury Department political appointee attempted to improperly interfere with the annual audit of the president or vice president’s tax returns, according to multiple people familiar with the document.

Trump administration officials dismissed the whistleblower’s complaint as flimsy because it is based on conversations with other government officials. But congressional Democrats were alarmed by the complaint, now circulating on Capitol Hill, and flagged it to a federal judge. They are also discussing whether to make it public.

That was the focus of the whistleblower complaint. The people briefed on its contents said, for the first time, that the complaint pertained to allegations of interference in the audit process by at least one Treasury Department official. They also said, for the first time, that the complaint revealed that the whistleblower is a career IRS official.

Two administration officials have described the complaint as hearsay and suggested it was politically motivated, but they spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the matter. Democrats who have reviewed it regard it as a deeply significant allegation that, if true, suggests that political appointees may have tried to interfere with the government audit process, which was set up to be insulated from political pressures.

In an interview with WaPo, the ‘whistleblower’ denied his action was politically motivated: “I take very seriously the duty of career civil servants to act with integrity and perform our duties impartially, even at the risk that someone will make a charge of bias.”

Key parts of the complaint are still hidden and only small portions of it are being leaked in order to damage Trump and his reelection efforts.

This leak will also serve to help bolster Democrats in their quest to get their hands on President Trump’s tax returns.

The coup continues.

The Deep State-Democrat-media complex is now using ‘whistleblowers’ who file complaints based on second-hand information and gossip in order to attack President Trump.

The ‘whistleblower’ is then allowed to attack Trump behind anonymity because they are hiding behind the Whistleblower Protection Act.

UPDATE: Democrat Chairman of House Ways and Means Knew About Anti-Trump IRS Whistleblower SINCE JULY

Another day, another leak — and another Deep State ‘whistleblower.’

As reported earlier by Cristina Laila — This time the ‘whistleblower’ is a career IRS official who filed a complaint with second-hand knowledge then leaked the story to the Washington Post.

Chairman Richard Neal

The chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, Democrat Richard Neal, admitted that he received the “credible” complaint from the whistleblower at the end of July.

That same panel is trying to obtain President Trump’s tax returns.

Neal broke the report today.

Business Insider reported:

The complaint alleges “inappropriate efforts to influence” the agency’s audit of Trump’s tax returns, according to a court filing from the House Ways and Means Committee…

The chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, Rep. Richard Neal, wrote that he received a credible complaint from a whistleblower at the end of July. The panel is currently trying to obtain six years worth of Trump’s tax returns.

The president has repeatedly refused to release them, claiming they’re under audit, even though there’s no rule that says that individuals cannot disclose their returns on the basis of an audit.

Not much is known about the process of auditing a president. Rules governing it were tightened after President Richard Nixon was accused of influencing the process.

Like the Deep State “whistleblower” complaint before it, this is another deep state employee using hearsay to target President Trump.

Rep. Neal and Democrats plotted to release the complaint today.
It was all another coordinated assault.
