Democrats don’t want red flag laws applied to gang members

The House is staying busy now that the August recess (such as it was) is over. One of the latest items of business was having the House Judiciary Committee approve that new red flag law everyone has been talking about. But they ran into a bit of a snag when Republicans offered an amendment that would have allowed the addition of anyone whose name appears in a law enforcement gang database to the list. Even if that might sound like common sense to you, the Democrats on the committee found reasons to object and defeated the amendment. (Washington Examiner)

House Democrats this week advanced a new measure to encourage states to pass “red flag” laws, known as extreme risk protection orders, that authorize removing guns and ammunition from dangerous individuals.

Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee amended the measure during a Wednesday mark-up to authorize the federal government to issue extreme risk protection orders in some instances, but they rejected an amendment that would have red-flagged anyone who law enforcement lists as a gang member.

“The majority of violent crime, including gun violence, in the United States is linked to gangs,” Rep. Ken Buck, a Colorado Republican who sponsored the amendment, said Wednesday. “My amendment is quite simple. It would allow the issuance of a red flag order against anyone whose name appears in a gang database if there was probable cause to include that individual in the database.”

The reason the Democrats gave for objecting to this was that the lists in those gang databases have been found to be inaccurate at times. On the surface, there is a valid complaint about these databases. The one used in Chicago, for example, has been widely criticized for having errors of all sorts. But Republican Congressman Ken Buck, the amendment’s author, pointed out that being in one of those databases wouldn’t automatically trigger the red flag law. It would only apply if there was probable cause.

Republicans also pointed out some of the hypocrisy on display. You may recall that many of these same Democrats held a sit-in to shut down Congress because the GOP didn’t want to pass a “no-fly, no buy” law that would forbid gun ownership for anyone on the terrorist no-fly list. The reason the GOP gave at the time? There were errors in that list as well.

The Democrats countered by saying they would like to add “individuals affiliated with white nationalism.” How precisely are you going to define who is affiliated with “white nationalism?” People show up on gang databases because they commit gang-related crimes. You can be accused of being affiliated with “white nationalism” for writing an op-ed.

Let’s keep in mind the fact that all of this activity is little more than political posturing. Congress isn’t considering a national red-flag law. Even if this measure makes it into law, all it does is allow and encourage the states to pass their own red flag laws. Whether the states choose to do so and how they structure such laws is still entirely up to them.

Further, the gang database amendment is kind of pointless as well. Most of the people who wind up on those lists (not counting those incorrectly added) are there because they’ve already committed crimes. They’re already not supposed to be able to purchase or possess firearms. The problem is they somehow manage to ignore laws like that and carry weapons anyway. (Yes. Shocking, I know.)

Here’s the part of the story that nobody was saying out loud on the House Judiciary Committee, however. Democrats are reluctant to do anything that might be seen as taking harsh action against gang members. The reason is that many in their caucus are still fighting for criminal justice reform, bemoaning the crime bill from the nineties and claiming racism. Many, though not all urban gangs are primarily composed of minorities, so liberals are reluctant to touch the subject even though the vast majority of violent crime in the country is related to gang activity.

But even that is rather weak tea. There are white gangs running meth operations in the south and biker gangs all over the country with few or no minorities. They could have been added as well. That might have pleased the Democrats.

As I said, this entire exercise is a dog and pony show designed to get representatives on the record as to how they voted regarding red flag laws. There’s an election next year, after all.

John Solomon devastates Democrats on Ukraine

Writing in The Hill, John Solomon demonstrates that it is Democrats who first sought to intimidate Ukraine for their own political ends and who continue to do so.

Earlier this month, during a bipartisan meeting in Kiev, Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) delivered a pointed message to Ukraine’s new president, Volodymyr Zelensky.

While choosing his words carefully, Murphy made clear — by his own account — that Ukraine currently enjoyed bipartisan support for its U.S. aid but that could be jeopardized if the new president acquiesced to requests by President Trump’s lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, to investigate past corruption allegations involving Americans, including former Vice President Joe Biden’s family.

Murphy boasted after the meeting that he told the new Ukrainian leader that U.S. aid was his country’s “most important asset” and it would be viewed as election-meddling and “disastrous for long-term U.S.-Ukraine relations” to bend to the wishes of Trump and Giuliani.

“I told Zelensky that he should not insert himself or his government into American politics. I cautioned him that complying with the demands of the President’s campaign representatives to investigate a political rival of the President would gravely damage the U.S.-Ukraine relationship. There are few things that Republicans and Democrats agree on in Washington these days, and support for Ukraine is one of them,” Murphy told me today, confirming what he told Ukraine’s leader.

The implied message did not require an interpreter for Zelensky to understand: Investigate the Ukraine dealings of Joe Biden and his son, Hunter, and you jeopardize Democrats’ support for future U.S. aid to Kiev.

As with Joe Biden’s public boast to the Council on Foreign Relations that he threatened to withhold a billion dollars unless Ukraine fired prosecutor Viktor Shokin who was investigating the company that employed his son as a board member for $50,000 a month, Democrats believe that they have immunity for the vert acts they now accuse President Trump of carrying out (though there is no public evidence of any such Trump acts).

Solomon goes on to show that “since at least 2016, Democrats repeatedly have exerted pressure on Ukraine, a key U.S. ally for buffering Russia, to meddle in U.S. politics and elections.”

For instance:

Nazar Kholodnytsky, Ukraine’s chief anti-corruption prosecutor, told me that, soon after he returned from the Washington meeting, he saw evidence in Ukraine of political meddling in the U.S. election. That’s when two top Ukrainian officials released secret evidence to the American media, smearing Manafort. 

The release of the evidence forced Manafort to step down as Trump’s top campaign adviser. A Ukrainian court concluded last December that the release of the evidence amounted to an unlawful intervention in the U.S. election by Kiev’s government, although that ruling has since been overturned on a technicality.

The accusations against Trump are based on hearsay, evidence that no court in the United States would accept.

This going to blow up in Democrats’ faces even bigger than I believed yesterday.

Obama, the Bidens, the Clintons, the IMF and Others Pillaged Ukraine Then Forced It’s Citizens to Pay Excessive Natural Gas Prices at 50% Above Market

President Obama, his Vice President Biden and his son, Hillary Clinton, the Clinton Foundation, Mueller, the Podestas, the IMF and others all pillaged the Ukraine and then delayed loans to the country before forcing Ukrainians to pay grossly inflated natural gas prices.  Now these vultures claim they are innocent.

More than a year ago we reported that Robert Mueller was charging Paul Manafort for actions that Mueller committed himself.

The Gateway Pundit reported in August last year that Paul Manafort sits in solitary confinement for crimes he allegedly committed stemming from his work as a lobbyist in Ukraine years ago before Donald Trump ran for president.

For a little back story, Yulia Tymoshenko runs for reelection in Ukraine, she loses, and just like Hillary, Tymoshenko fails to lose gracefully and promises to #Resist. Her victorious opponent, Viktor Yanukovytch, throws her in jail for what many claim to be bogus charges.

We continued:

Anyway, due to all the negative publicity stemming from the Tymoshenko debacle, Yanukovytch tried to repair his image before the public, so he hired the lobbyist, Paul Manafort, who then hires John Podesta’s lobbying outfit. Their job was to make Yanukovytch seem like a really likable guy to the Ukrainian public, so Podesta gets both Obama, Hillary Clinton, and John Kerry’s State Department to do photo ops with Yanukovytch because, you know, the DNC coffers needed to be filled during election time, so they had to sell Yanukovytch as a real class act to the adoring public. Obama even went so far as to declare the Ukrainian election to be free and fair.

But guess who else did photo ops with Yanukovytch? Bob Mueller, the same Mueller that’s now prosecuting these very people. Rod Rosenstein’s memo said Mueller was specifically authorized to investigate allegations that Manafort “[c]ommitted a crime or crimes arising out of payments he received from the Ukrainian government before and during the tenure of President Viktor Yanukovych.”

Of course Mueller never recused himself from the Trump-Russia sham investigation due to his activities in the Ukraine.  Meanwhile, Manafort rots in prison for his actions in the Ukraine working with Hillary Clinton’s Campaign Manager John Podesta.  Mueller even gave Podesta’s brother Tony immunity during his corrupt ‘witch hunt’.

But this was just a small part of the corruption and pillaging of the Ukraine by the Democrat Party leaders. 

Via the Markets Work, the far left New York Times reported how the Clintons pillaged the Ukraine:

Victor Pinchuk, a steel magnate whose father-in-law, Leonid Kuchma, was president of Ukraine from 1994 to 2005, has directed between $10 million and $25 million to the [Clinton] foundation. He has lent his private plane to the Clintons and traveled to Los Angeles in 2011 to attend Mr. Clinton’s star-studded 65th birthday celebration.

We also reported that Oligarch Victor Pinchuk may have helped divert IMF funds to Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign.

In addition to being a Clinton Foundation donor, Pinchuk is also on the International Advisory Board of the Atlantic Counsel

The Atlantic Counsel has been historically active in Ukraine through their Ukraine in Europe Initiative. More recently, on January 19, 2017, the Atlantic Counsel announced a partnership with Ukrainian natural gas company Burisma Group.

Hunter Biden, former VP Joe Biden’s son, sits on Burisma’s board.

As we reported previously:

Also serving on the International Advisory Board of the Atlantic Council is James Clapper, who served as Obama’s Director of National Intelligence. Funnily enough, Bongino discovered that the Chief Technology Officer of “the only company that investigated the hacking of the DNC’s servers and quickly determined it was the Russians, is a nonresident senior fellow in cybersecurity” at the Atlantic Council. His name is Dmitri Alperovitch (owner of CrowdStrike).”

So the Clintons, Obama, the Bidens, Mueller, the Podestas and the Atlantic Council all were involved in the Ukraine.  But this is just the tip of the iceberg.  The IMF also had shady dealings with the Ukraine related to these same Democrats.

According to Wikipedia –

On 28 July 2010, the IMF approved a 29-month $15.15 billion loan to Ukraine.[7] Among others this led to a 50 percent increase on household natural gas utility prices in July 2010 for Ukrainian consumers (a key demand of the IMF in exchange of the loan).[8][9]

By December 2013, the Ukrainian Prime Minister, Mykola Azarov, stated “the extremely harsh conditions” of a renewed IMF loan (presented by the IMF on 20 November 2013), which included big budget cuts and a 40% increase in natural gas bills, had been the last argument in favor of the Ukrainian government’s decision to suspend preparations for signing the Ukraine–European Union Association Agreement on 21 November 2013.[11][12][13] The decision to put off signing this EU-Ukraine Association Agreement lead [sic] to massive protests in Ukraine.[14][nb 1]

Then on December 10, 2013, President Yanukovych stated “We will certainly resume the IMF negotiations. If there are conditions that suit us, we will take that path”.[22] However, Yanukovych also (once again) stated that the conditions put forward by the IMF were unacceptable “I had a conversation with U.S. Vice President Joseph Biden, who told me that the issue of the IMF loan has almost been solved, but I told him that if the conditions remained… we did not need such loans”.[22]

In February 2014 Yanukovych and Azarov were forcibly removed from power (as a result of the pro-EU-Ukraine Association Agreement coup) and replaced by the Yatsenyuk Government.[24]

In March 2014 the IMF required the Ukraine to reform natural gas price subsidies in order to provide it with an aid package worth about $15 billion.[25] One of the expected effects was a 50% price hike on natural gas sold to domestic Ukrainian consumers.[25]

The Markets Work reported that Hunter Biden was placed on Burisma’s board after Obama’s State Department employee Victoria Nuland and the U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Geoffrey Pyatt held a phone conversation regarding installation of Arseniy Yatsenyuk in place of then-President Yanukovych. This call occurred on or before February 4, 2014.

On February 22, 2014, Yanukovych was removed as President of Ukraine and on February 27,  2014, Yatsenyuk was installed as Prime Minister of Ukraine.  (Yatsenyuk would resign in April 2016 amidst corruption accusations.)

On April 18 2014, Hunter Biden was appointed to the Board of Directors for Burisma – one of the largest natural gas companies in Ukraine.  Then on April 22, 2014, Obama’s Vice President Biden traveled to the Ukraine and offered support and $50 million in aid for Yatsenyuk’s shaky new government.

As a result of all this activity, the Bidens got a place on the Board of one of the largest natural gas companies in the Ukraine, the Clintons received millions from a Ukrainian Oligarch, the IMF got billions in loans with the Ukraine, and the people of the Ukraine were burdened with excessive natural gas prices.

And there it is.

Thrilling New Novel Reveals Who is America’s #1 Enemy

In 1960, Nikita Khrushchev banged his shoe on the desk in anger at a summit in the United Nations, but what most remember about this Communist Russian leader were his words to Western leaders. ”We will bury you.”  Level-headed USSR delegates did not approve of his aggressive statements and by 1964, he lost his position.

Russia may be an adversary, but it is not our number one enemy. Neither is China, which may have over a billion people but we’re its best customer and they’ve invested too much in this nation to risk our destruction.

Iranian leaders, on the other hand, have made no secret that they hate America and everything we stand for. The leading mullahs are true believers in a caliphate that will conquer the world. The 21st century has seen a broad mainstream embrace of a collective Muslim identity by young Muslims and the appeal of a caliphate as an idealized future Muslim state has grown ever stronger. The biggest attack on American soil by Muslim jihadists on 9/11 has solidified this ambition.

According to the Ayatollah Morteza Mutahhari of Iran, it means an armed conflict. In his discourse, ”Jihad: The Holy War of Islam and its Legitimacy in the Quran,” the Ayatollah writes:

“… Islam, however, is a religion that sees its duty and commitment to form an Islamic state. Islam came to reform society and to form a nation and government. Its mandate is the reform of the whole world ….  It cannot be without a law of jihad. While the scope of Christianity is extremely limited, that of Islam is extremely wide….  It has laws which govern the society, economic laws and political laws. It came to organize a state, to organize a government. Once this is done, how can it remain without an army?”

Get it? The religion of peace has a mandate to reform the entire world.  Recent drone attacks on the Saudi oil fields allegedly sponsored by Iran indicate that perhaps Islamic jihad has gone global. We should also be reminded that militant jihadists like the 9/11 murderers are not afraid of dying but welcome death and are now preparing for war.

Several years ago, I had the fortune of connecting with Dr. Francis Bandettini who with his co-author Matt Nilsen had written a very enjoyable action thriller, American Jackal.  The hero Troy Stoker reminded me of Mitch Rapp, one of my favorite characters created by the late Vince Flynn, and I’ve communicated with the good South Dakota psychiatrist ever since. I was then given the opportunity to read his next novel, Silent Strike, which I found not only exciting but frightening in the sense that it depicted a very plausible attack on our country that we may not be prepared for.

The villain in the novel is a very wealthy mogul publicly known as a Greek but is in fact an Iranian groomed by the director of a bonyad. This is just one word that I had to research and found to be factual.

Bonyads are charitable trusts in Iran that play a major role in Iran’s non-petroleum economy, controlling an estimated 20% of Iran’s GDP, and channeling revenues to groups supporting the Islamic Republic.

What Nicholas, the mogul, has been responsible for is recruiting numerous sleeper cells throughout the country employing workers in service and food industries that are being used to spread bio-terrorism.  Sounds kind of far fetched until one keeps reading about strange food poisoning incidents in restaurants, cruise ships and food recalls in the industry. The novel posits that the bio-terrrorism has a much more lethal consequence than mere stomach ailments.

The ultimate goal of introducing bacteria in the U.S. is that it will produce severe respiratory illnesses that will cripple our medical resources. I actually looked up the names of these germs and discovered that they do exist and that many of the details in the novel have been thoroughly researched. It is my sincere hope that our enemy does not use this stratagem and that our government is prepared for all such attacks.

While I will not write spoilers for Silent Strike, I will mention one innovation that I have confirmed is indeed a reality. There does exist a bona fide lie-detector system that cannot be manipulated and considering all the fake news and allegations against the administration and other conservatives, I cannot wait until law enforcement has this remarkable tool.

It is astonishing that the Left and its minions operating in Congress and the mainstream media have dismissed the enmity of Iran. On the 18tth anniversary of 9/11, when “some people” destroyed the Twin Towers, the New York Times tweeted, “18 years have passed since airplanes took aim and brought down the World Trade Center.”  Who knew that airplanes could aim at buildings without pilots? This inability to name Islamic jihadists as perpetrators of terrorism has been the modus operandi of the Left’s narrative. The Obama administration secretly awarded the enemy with pallets of cash yet that didn’t even raise an eyebrow in the mainstream media. Obama proceeded to have a treaty with a government that has never stopped advocating the death of the United States.

Since 9/11/2001, this benevolent country has not taken action against the vast Muslim community as FDR took against Germans and Japanese after the attack on Pearl Harbor by putting them in internment concentration camps. In fact, we’ve elected more Muslim representatives in Congress than ever before. A few of them have not hesitated to profess hatred of American ideals. One of the most vocal, Rep. Iilan Omar (D-Minnesota) was rebuked by a 9/11 victim’s family member for saying, “some people did something” to the Twin Towers. Her response was to act the victim and said she was afraid of the American response. Oh really?

Then explain how over 600 mosques have been built here since 9/11 and even one community center was opened very near to Ground Zero. Why have public schools introduced ‘Be a Muslim day” for their students and bent over backward to accommodate their religious rituals like prayer rugs and foot baths?  Muslims have achieved political power in states like Michigan and Minnesota. There have even been some legislators seeking to enact Sharia law in some domestic cases.

Silent Strike doesn’t pull any punches about who our number one enemy is in the 21st century. It is not the Iranian people, many of them Persians, but the leadership and mullahs who hold them captive and threaten our way of life.

I applaud the authors for this attempt to open our eyes to the truth. Let’s hope our POTUS gets a copy.

On the 18tth anniversary of 9/11, when “some people” destroyed the Twin Towers, the New York Times tweeted, “18 years have passed since airplanes took aim and brought down the World Trade Center.”  Who knew that airplanes could aim at buildings without pilots? This inability to name Islamic jihadists as perpetrators of terrorism has been the modus operandi of the Left’s narrative. The Obama administration secretly awarded the enemy with pallets of cash yet that didn’t even raise an eyebrow in the mainstream media. Obama proceeded to have a treaty with a government that has never stopped advocating the death of the United States.

Since 9/11/2001, this benevolent country has not taken action against the vast Muslim community as FDR took against Germans and Japanese after the attack on Pearl Harbor by putting them in internment concentration camps. In fact, we’ve elected more Muslim representatives in Congress than ever before. A few of them have not hesitated to profess hatred of American ideals. One of the most vocal, Rep. Iilan Omar (D-Minnesota) was rebuked by a 9/11 victim’s family member for saying, “some people did something” to the Twin Towers. Her response was to act the victim and said she was afraid of the American response. Oh really?

Then explain how over 600 mosques have been built here since 9/11 and even one community center was opened very near to Ground Zero. Why have public schools introduced ‘Be a Muslim day” for their students and bent over backward to accommodate their religious rituals like prayer rugs and foot baths?  Muslims have achieved political power in states like Michigan and Minnesota. There have even been some legislators seeking to enact Sharia law in some domestic cases.

Silent Strike doesn’t pull any punches about who our number one enemy is in the 21st century. It is not the Iranian people, many of them Persians, but the leadership and mullahs who hold them captive and threaten our way of life.

I applaud the authors for this attempt to open our eyes to the truth. Let’s hope our POTUS gets a copy.

His work has not yet been picked up in this country, but that us about to change, Writing in the Australian site Quadrant, Tony Thomas introduces the English-Speaking world to the truth-telling of Dr. Mototaka Nakamura. There’s a top-level oceanographer and meteorologist who is  prepared to cry “Nonsense!”on the “global warming crisis” evident to climate modellers but not in the real world. He’s as well or better qualified than the modellers he criticises — the ones whose Year 2100 forebodings of 4degC warming have set the world to spending $US1.5 trillion a year to combat CO2 emissions.

The iconoclast is Dr. Mototaka Nakamura. In June he put out a small book in Japanese on “the sorry state of climate science”. It’s titled Confessions of a climate scientist: the global warming hypothesis is an unproven hypothesis, and he is very much qualified to take a stand. From 1990 to 2014 he worked on cloud dynamics and forces mixing atmospheric and ocean flows on medium to planetary scales. His bases were MIT (for a Doctor of Science in meteorology), Georgia Institute of Technology, Goddard Space Flight Centre, Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Duke and Hawaii Universities and the Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology. He’s published about 20 climate papers on fluid dynamics.[i]

Today’s vast panoply of “global warming science” is like an upside down pyramid built on the work of a few score of serious climate modellers. They claim to have demonstrated human-derived CO2 emissions as the cause of recent global warming and project that warming forward. Every orthodox climate researcher takes such output from the modellers’ black boxes as a given. 

Dr. Nakamura has just made his work available to the English-speaking world:

There was no English edition of his book in June and only a few bits were translated and circulated. But Dr Nakamura last week offered via a free Kindle version his own version in English. It’s not a translation but a fresh essay leading back to his original conclusions.

And the critique he offers is comprehensive.  

Data integrity

(AT just published the story of Canada’s Environment agency discarding actual historical data and substituting their models of what they data should have been, for instance).

Now Nakamura has found it again, further accusing the orthodox scientists of “data falsification” by adjusting previous temperature data to increase apparent warming “The global surface mean temperature-change data no longer have any scientific value and are nothing except a propaganda tool to the public,” he writes.

The climate models are useful tools for academic studies, he says. However, “the models just become useless pieces of junk or worse (worse in a sense that they can produce gravely misleading output) when they are used for climate forecasting.” The reason:

These models completely lack some critically important  climate processes and feedbacks, and represent some other critically important climate processes and feedbacks in grossly distorted manners to the extent that makes these models totally useless for any meaningful climate prediction.

I myself used to use climate simulation models for scientific studies, not for predictions, and learned about their problems and limitations in the process.

Ignoring non-CO2 climate determinants

Climate forecasting is simply impossible, if only because future changes in solar energy output are unknowable.  As to the impacts of human-caused CO2, they can’t be judged “with the knowledge and technology we currently possess.”

Other gross model simplifications include

# Ignorance about large and small-scale ocean dynamics

# A complete lack of meaningful representations of aerosol changes that generate clouds.

# Lack of understanding of drivers of ice-albedo (reflectivity) feedbacks: “Without a reasonably accurate representation, it is impossible to make any meaningful predictions of climate variations and changes in the middle and high latitudes and thus the entire planet.”

# Inability to deal with water vapor elements

# Arbitrary “tunings” (fudges) of key parameters that are not understood

Concerning CO2 changes he says,

I want to point out a simple fact that it is impossible to correctly predict even the sense or direction of a change of a system when the prediction tool lacks and/or grossly distorts important non-linear processes, feedbacks in particular, that are present in the actual system …

… The real or realistically-simulated climate system is far more complex than an absurdly simple system simulated by the toys that have been used for climate predictions to date, and will be insurmountably difficult for those naïve climate researchers who have zero or very limited understanding of geophysical fluid dynamics. I understand geophysical fluid dynamics just a little, but enough to realize that the dynamics of the atmosphere and oceans are absolutely critical facets of the climate system if one hopes to ever make any meaningful prediction of climate variation.

Solar input, absurdly, is modelled as a “never changing quantity”. He says, “It has only been several decades since we acquired  an ability to accurately monitor the incoming solar energy. In these several decades only, it has varied by one to two watts per square metre. Is it reasonable to assume that it will not vary any more than that in the next hundred years or longer for forecasting purposes? I would say, No.”

WSJ/NBC Poll: Healthcare for Illegals ‘Least Popular’ Policy in 2020 Race

The most unpopular position in the 2020 Democrat presidential primary is a policy forcing American taxpayers to provide free healthcare for 11 to 22 million illegal aliens living in the United States, a new survey reveals.

According to the latest Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll, when all American voters are asked to rank 12 policies from best to worst, a plan to provide taxpayer-funded healthcare to all illegal aliens — endorsed by Democrat front-runners like Joe Biden, Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) — ranks as the least popular among the bunch.

The Journal notes:

Of 12 policy ideas tested in the poll, providing government-sponsored health care to undocumented immigrants was the least popular among the broader electorate, with 62% rejecting it. In a June Democratic debate, all 10 candidates on the stage, including Messrs. Biden and Sanders, raised their hands when asked who backed the idea. In the new survey, it was supported by 64% of Democratic primary voters but only 36% of voters overall. [Emphasis added]

As Breitbart News estimated, providing free healthcare to every illegal alien in the U.S. would cost up to $66 billion a year or $660 billion over a decade to American taxpayers. Already, Americans are forced to subsidize illegal aliens’ medical costs to the sum of almost $20 billion a year.

The Urban Institute’s Linda Blumberg, a health insurance expert, told the New York Times that such a policy providing free healthcare for every foreign national who crosses the U.S.-Mexico border or overstays a visa would drive a migration of “people with serious health problems” to the country.

Similar polls conducted in recent months found that American anywhere between 60 to 63 percent of swing voters oppose offering free healthcare to illegal aliens, as well as 55 to 59 percent of all U.S. voters.

The Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll of 900 registered voters was conducted between September 13 and 16 with a margin of error of +/- 3.27 percentage points.

Drag Queen Story Hour for Young Children Celebrated as Part of LGBTQ ‘Big Read’ Event

The Hartford Public Library in Connecticut will host two Drag Queen Story Hour events Saturday as part of the library’s celebration of its LGBTQ “Big Read” campaign.

The controversial drag queen events have stirred tensions in many cities throughout the country, such as Chula Vista, California, where an LGBT-activist city official said groups protesting the event were people who hold “white supremacist beliefs.”

Hartford Library CEO Bridget Quinn told the Hartford Courant she is prepared for any protests against the event.

“I don’t anticipate a major response,” she said. “Hartford is pretty open-minded.”

“We have had a few people express concern, but we tell them that this is a way to engage kids in reading,” Quinn added. “It’s fun. It’s a way to expose them to different cultures and lifestyles.”

The website of the Drag Queen Story Hour, an event targeting toddlers and young children, specifically states the purpose of the events is to provide children with “glamorous, positive, and unabashedly queer role models.”

Peter Wolfgang, executive director of the Family Institute of Connecticut, told Breitbart News the events create gender confusion for children.

“Grotesquely oversexualized and misogynistic drag queens should not be teaching gender confusion to children in public libraries,” he said. “Traditional-minded people and feminists alike ought to oppose the false stereotypes of women being peddled to children by these events. “

Concerns about safety at the Drag Queen Story Hour events made headlines recently when Houston MassResistance discovered drag queen Alberto Garza, who uses the name Tatiana Mala-Nina when reading to young children, had been convicted in 2008 of sexually assaulting an eight-year-old boy. The Houston library system had failed to perform a background check on Garza or any of the other drag queens appearing in its programs.

Multnomah County Library in Portland, Oregon, also faced backlash when it was found the library system had quietly removed from social media photos of the Drag Queen Story Hour that took place at one of its libraries during which young children were lying on top of the drag queens and fondling their false breasts.

Quinn said the annual Big Read event is “meant to show the open values of the library.”

“The ‘Big Read’ is a program of the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with Arts Midwest,” states the library on its website.

The Big Read adult book this year is Advice from the Lights by Harvard English professor Stephanie Burt, a biological man who identifies as a woman.

The children’s Big Read book is George, written by queer activist Alex Gino and published by Scholastic. George, a story about a boy who claims to be a girl, was condemned in 2018 by Christian advocacy organization One Million Moms.

One Million Moms also recently launched a boycott of Whole Foods Market in Atlanta over the food market chain’s sponsorship of a Drag Queen Story Hour event.

“This year we wanted to focus on LGBTQ literature and start it at the same time as the citywide celebration of pride,” Liz Castle, Hartford Library’s programming and events manager, said, according to the Courant.

Two of the LGBT-themed books to be read to the young children by the drag queens are Pink is for Boys and Julian is a Mermaid.

The American Library Association (ALA) encourages Drag Queen Story Hour events and is supporting those libraries experiencing “pushback” from their communities.

“ALA, through its actions and those of its members, is instrumental in creating a more equitable, diverse, and inclusive society,” the organization states. “This includes a commitment to combating marginalization and underrepresentation within the communities served by libraries through increased understanding of the effects of historical exclusion.”

The Drag Queen Story Hour in Hartford will include a question-and-answer period, a craft activity, and opportunity for the children to take a photo with the drag queens, Giganta Smalls and Robin Fierce.

“A drag queen isn’t something you see every day unless you go to shows or watch ‘Ru Paul’s Drag Race,’” Fierce told the Courant. “But we are people, we are here doing our art form and just like any other kind of performer we are palatable to everyone and just want everyone to have a fun time.”

Fitton: Documents Reveal State Department Efforts to Undermine Trump

Judicial Watch has made public 90 pages of heavily redacted U.S. Department of State documents showing Obama State Department officials’ efforts to disseminate classified information to multiple U.S. Senators immediately prior to President Donald Trump’s inauguration. 

The information, which included raw intelligence, purported to show “malign” Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election. Among the senators receiving the classified documents were Sen. Mark Warner (D-VA), Sen. Ben Cardin (D-MD), and Sen. Robert Corker (R-TN).

We obtained the documents through our June 2018 Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit filed against the State Department after it failed to respond to a February 2018 request seeking records of the Obama State Department’s last-minute efforts to share classified information about Russia election interference issues with Democratic Senator Ben Cardin (Judicial Watch v. U.S. Department of State (No. 1:18-cv-01381)).

A January 13, 2017, email from Hera Abbasi, a former congressional advisor in the State Department’s Bureau of Legislative Affairs, suggests that the intelligence community was providing “raw intel” to Sen. Warner. Such an exchange almost certainly would have been coordinated by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI): “Yes, that is correct. Warner/raw intel stuff is going thru IC channels.” (Abbasi previously worked in Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s office and was a 2017 Next Generation National Security Fellow at the liberal Center for a New American Security. Abbasi donated $725 to the Clinton campaign and Act Blue during the 2016 election cycle.)

The documents we uncovered show early in the process of gathering and clearing classified information – beginning a day after Sen. Mark Warner (D-VA) formally asked Secretary of State John Kerry for “intelligence products” and “raw intelligence” on Russian involvement in the 2016 election – Assistant Secretary of State Julia Frifield brings Senior Advisor and Investigations Counsel Zachary Schram into the loop in a January 5, 2017, email chain, in which she says Schram would help “figure out the best way to get these to the Hill.” Frifield was an Obama appointee who previously served as Maryland Democratic Senator Barbara Mikulski’s Chief of Staff. (Frifield contributed $2,700 to the 2016 Clinton campaign.)

On January 11, 2017, former State Department Senior Congressional Advisor Katherine Harris sends an email to Abbasi; Naz Durakoglu, who was a senior advisor to the Assistant Secretary for European and Eurasian Affairs; Kathleen Kavalec, and others: “If we are not going through our standard CDP [Collection Due Process] process, others in H need to weigh in on how to move these to the Hill.”

In emails written on January 10 and 11, 2017, from Abbasi to Durakoglu and Kavalec, Abassi expresses the need to get the documents cleared “as soon as possible (ASAP).”

On January 17, 2017, three days before Trump’s inauguration, Kavalec emails Abbasi, Durakoglu and others emphasizing, again, that getting the documents to Cardin and Warner is a priority and urges the process to be sped up:

Agree this is a priority… and I don’t see why lengthy reviews are required. I would suggest we send up the things that can go immediately, and if there is any concern about specific internal documents, those be adjudicated separately and sent up as a follow-on.

In a January 18, 2017, email from Naz Durakoglu to Elizabeth Lawrence, Abbasi, Kerem Bilge, and others regarding the processing of the request, Durakoglu writes, “there is a time sensitivity to these docs.”

Shedding additional light on possible irregularities in the release process, a January 17, 2017, email reveals that ODNI, then led by James Clapper, was involved in clearing cables for release to the Hill. State Department official Cody Walsh emails Schram and Lauren Gills that the ODNI is “fine” with the State Department “sharing … cables with the Hill.”

On January 13, 2017, at 10:27 a.m., Durakoglu emails more than a dozen State Department employees, invoking the name of then-State Department Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland to reiterate the need to accelerate the process of getting materials prepared to go to the Hill: “Hi All. This is a priority for our Assistant Secretary…Is there anything we can do to better facilitate the process?”

Two minutes later, Durakoglu emails Kerem Bilge and two others: “Where are we on clearances? Do I need to ask Toria to raise with Julia? The clock is ticking.” Durakoglu, at the time, was a senior adviser to Nuland. Durakoglu currently works for The Atlantic Council. She contributed $1,600 to the Clinton campaign in 2016.

The concluding, unredacted section of an otherwise heavily redacted email sent on Friday, January 13, 2017, by former Foreign Service Officer Kerem Bilge to numerous State employees indicates the intense time pressure under which State officials were operating to beat the Inauguration-Day deadline:

**** Please clear the action memo by noon TUESDAY [Jan. 17].

**** Please clear on the actual package of documents, if you have not done so already, by noon TUESDAY [Jan. 17].[Emphasis in original]

I want to get the whole package into the EUR front office today. This means we can get it out of EUR and to M [Undersecretary for Management] on Wednesday [Jan. 18], then H can courier it to the Hill on Thursday [Jan 19].

In a January 18, 2017, email, as time was running out, Elizabeth Lawrence described getting the package of cables to Cardin and Warner as “urgent:” “This is an urgent package from EUR that they’re trying to get to the Hill ASAP. Please review so we can get it up to M.” (Lawrence is a career foreign service officer, now the Consul in New Delhi, and was previously a Foreign Policy Advisor to Illinois Democratic Senator Dick Durbin. A D.C.-based State Department employee with her name is on record as having donated a cumulative total of $1,000 to the Clinton campaign in 2016.)

The final batch of cables was stored in Kavalec’s safe.

President Trump was inaugurated less than 24 hours later.

These documents show how the Obama State Department, staffed by Clinton donors, improperly, and perhaps illegally, rushed classified information to their anti-Trump allies in the U.S. Senate. The Obama State Department was central to the conspiracy to smear President Trump with Russiagate lies and innuendo. The Justice Department must expand any Spygate criminal investigation to include this agency.

We previously released documents showing classified information was researched and disseminated to multiple U.S. Senators by the Obama administration immediately prior to President Donald Trump’s inauguration. The documents reveal that among those receiving the classified documents were Sen. Mark Warner (D-VA), Sen. Ben Cardin (D-MD), and Sen. Robert Corker (R-TN). A January 19, 2017, email from Durakoglu, sums it up: “We made the deadline! Thank you everyone for what was truly a Department-wide effort!”

We also previously released an email exchange between then-Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland and Special Coordinator for Libya Jonathan Winer, a close associate of dossier author Christopher Steele, discussing a “face-to-face” meeting on a “Russian matter.”

In May 2019, we uncovered documents showing a conversation between Kavalec and former Associate Deputy Attorney General Bruce Ohr, discussing the targeting of Donald Trump with Steele dossier material.

In June, we made public documents revealing that State Department “Special Coordinator for Libya” Jonathan Winer played a key role in facilitating Steele’s access to other top government officials, prominent international business executives. Winer was even approached by a movie producer about making a movie about the Russiagate targeting of President Trump.

We also uncovered documents showing Nuland and Winer coordinating with then-House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer’s (D-MD) national security advisor, Daniel Silverberg to work on Russia dossier materials provided by Steele.

Illegal Alien Wanted in France for Attempted Murder Deported from U.S.

An illegal alien living in the sanctuary city of New York City, New York was deported by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents after it was revealed he was wanted in France for attempted murder and kidnapping.

Samba Ndiaye, a 42-year-old illegal alien from France who also went by the alias “Mohamed Fall,” was deported by ICE agents last week after living in the U.S. for more than a decade.

In December 2002, Ndiaye was convicted of kidnapping, sequestration with acts of torture, and attempted murder in Marseilles, France. Though Ndiaye fled the country, he was sentenced to life in prison.

“This man was convicted in his home country of the heinous acts of kidnapping and attempted murder, living in our communities as if he was immune from facing his punishment in France,” ICE official Thomas Decker said in a statement.

Sometime after the conviction, Ndiaye arrived in New York City and was not arrested by ICE agents until June 2005. At the time, Ndiaye had been living under the identity of Mohamed Fall, claiming to be a citizen of Mauritania.

Despite being put into the deportation process in 2005, ICE released Ndiaye from custody on bail and it was not until July 2008 that an immigration judge ordered him deported from the U.S.

Ndiaye attempted to appeal the deportation, but his case was thrown out by the Board of Immigration Appeals. Still, Ndiaye was not immediately deported and remained in the country.

Then, in November 2012, Ndiaye was convicted in an Ohio federal court for assaulting, resisting, or impeding police officers and was sentenced to eight months in prison. After serving the sentence, the illegal alien was released to ICE, who then released him under ordered supervision while agents attempted to locate his Mauritanian passport.

Nearly seven years later in April 2019, a French law enforcement official at the French consulate in New York City told ICE officials that he believed Ndiaye was a French citizen and was actually wanted for a series of violent crimes. ICE agents confirmed Ndiaye’s identity and he was arrested a month later.

Decker said:

He assumed escaping to New York, a sanctuary city, the local laws would allow him to run free and continue to be a threat to the citizens of New York. As political rhetoric continues to push against ICE as an agency, ICE officers continue to make this a safer city simply by doing their jobs, enforcing the country’s immigration laws as enacted by Congress, and arresting and removing criminal aliens from the United States.

Over the last year, New York City released more than 2,900 criminal illegal aliens back into the general public rather than turning them over to ICE for arrest and deportation, Breitbart News reported. Many of these illegal aliens released from custody had been arrested for violent crimes.
