When Breitbart News Executive Chairman Steve Bannon was serving as chief strategist in the White House, Democrats and the mainstream media routinely attacked his character. One of their most popular claims suggested he was a racist.
Of course, those claims were competely unfounded.
In fact, it seems Bannon is far from the racist leftists made him out to be.
For example, Bannon headlined a fundraising lunch for the conservative group Black Americans for a Better Future on Tuesday at the Willard InterContinental Washington hotel in Washington, according to Breitbart News.
“A Business Luncheon with Stephen K. Bannon: A Republican Vision for Minority Business Growth,” was expected to attract approximately 200 black entrepreneurs from across the country.

Bannon’s message at the luncheon was one that no speaker who is truly racist would ever be delivering.
“The central part of economic nationalism depends upon you,” Bannon told his audience. “It depends upon us empowering the black and Hispanic entrepreneurial community with one thing: Access to capital.”
Now, that’s the kind of empowerment that actually means something, and it’s a lot different from the government-dependency “empowerment” the Democratic Party touts as it speaks condescendingly to the black community.
Black Americans for a Better Future, founded by Raynard Jackson, strives to be a channel for black businessmen to begin “cultivating a mutually beneficial relationship with our congressional and party leadership at the highest levels.”
In an interview before Bannon spoke at the luncheon, Jackson spoke highly of Bannon and said his knowledge of the black community is impressive.
“Steve’s knowledge of the black community is incredible,” Jackson told Breitbart News.
“If you were Stevie Wonder, being blind, and you could sit and talk with Steve and didn’t know his color, you would swear he’s from the black community because of his understanding of the dynamic, the business and community dynamic,” he said.
“What’s amazing is, I took about 20 blacks and Hispanics to meet with Steve last month, and about one-third of them were Democrats. And every person, without exception, said, ‘I want to work with Steve Bannon,’” Jackson said.
“They heard him unfiltered by the liberal media. They asked him any question they wanted, sitting face-to-face with him for two hours, and not one person said they disagreed with anything he said,” he added.
One of the reasons the media misrepresents Bannon is because they view him as a threat.
Jackson expressed it clearly: “Steve Bannon is the biggest threat I’ve seen to liberalism in decades.”
Jackson added that Bannon has asked members of the black community tough questions, such as what 40 years of liberalism has helped African-Americans achieve besides higher murder rates, higher unemployment and higher teen pregnancy rates — something former President Barack Obama never seemed concerned about.
“Barack Obama did nothing specifically for the black community in his eight years in office,” Jackson said, adding that Obama did “plenty” for the Hispanic and homosexual communities.
You won’t see this story covered by the mainstream media.
In fact, it’s more likely that they will bury it.
