25-Year FBI Vet: “Corrupt” Officials Used Trump Dossier to Justify Wire Taps

While many Americans have long doubted claims from Democrats who said President Donald Trump lied about being wiretapped by former President Barack Obama, a new report may prove Trump was right.

Trump tweeted in March that he believed the Obama administration ordered the wiretapping of Trump Tower during the 2016 presidential election.

During FBI Director Christopher Wray’s testimony Thursday before the House Judiciary Committee, he had a notable exchange with Florida Republican Rep. Ron DeSantis that may have contained a major revelation.

DeSantis asked Wray if the discredited Trump-Russia dossier — which was partly funded by failed Democrat presidential nominee Hillary Clinton and the Democratic National Committee — was used as the basis for obtaining a warrant under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act to spy on Trump and members of this campaign.

Wray refused to answer.

During Wray’s testimony, conservative author and colulmnist Paul Sperry sent out a bombshell tweet.

Sperry wrote that a 25-year veteran of the FBI told him that the dossier was used in the FISA application by pro-Clinton FBI Agent Peter Strzok to spy on Trump.

“(J)ust got this from 25yr vet of FBI who spent 10 years in CI,” wrote Sperry, using the initials “CI” for “counterintelligence”:

“Steele’s dossier was used as predication for that FISA and submitted by that p*** Strzok. I pray there are strong consequences. The entire hierarchy was corrupted.”

The explosive report follows news that more top members of special counsel Robert Mueller’s team have been exposed for an anti-Trump, pro-Clinton bias.

On Thursday, it was reported that a top Justice Department official had been demoted after it was revealed that he had been in contact with Fusion GPS, the opposition research firm that compiled the dossier.

According to Fox, then-Deputy Attorney General Bruce G. Ohr, met with Christopher Steele, the former British spy who compiled the dossier, after the 2016 presidential election.

On Tuesday, Andrew Weissman, a top prosecutor currently serving as a deputy to Mueller, praised former acting Attorney General Sally Yates after she was fired in January by Trump for refusing carry out Trump’s orders on the travel ban.

In a Jan. 30 email obtained by the conservative group Judicial Watch through a federal lawsuit, Weissmann wrote to Yates from his Justice Department account applauding her for defying Trump’s orders.

It was reported on Monday that Mueller fired Strzok, a former top counterintelligence analyst at the FBI, over the summer for sending text messages mocking Trump to an FBI lawyer with whom he was having an affair.

Strzok also played a major role in the investigation into Clinton’s email scandal, where Mueller’s “pit bull” changed former FBI Director James Comey’s statement that described Clinton’s actions as “grossly negligent” to “extremely careless,” shielding her from criminal charges.

Three top officials have now been exposed for leading a politically driven investigation against Trump.

If top FBI and DOJ officials — who either served or still currently serve on Mueller’s team — used the discredited dossier to obtain a warrant to spy on Trump, we could be talking about a major political scandal.

And Sperry’s report that a former FBI veteran said that the Steele dossier was used by Strzok to obtain the FISA warrant to spy on Trump definitely points in that direction.
