TOTAL MELTDOWN: Don Lemon Screams About ‘White Supremacy’

During Wednesday’s CNN Tonight, host Don Lemon had an unhinged meltdown over Republican opposition to the Biden administration’s COVID-relief bill. The fearmongering, left-wing host was also apoplectic at the idea that some black Americans don’t view white supremacy as a pervasive and existential threat. At one point during the broadcast, Lemon appeared to become so indignant that producers had to intervene via his earpiece and tell him to refrain from yelling.
Unlike his colleague and peer Chris “Fredo” Cuomo, who has been known to scream at the camera and at ordinary people in public, Lemon usually propagates the left’s progressive agenda in a soft-spoken and generally condescending manner. But on Wednesday, however, viewers got to witness a much different side of the primetime, race-baiting demagogue.
Lemon’s outrage reached its apotheosis when he mocked Senator Tim Scott (R-SC) for going on Fox News Channel and unequivocally renouncing and dismissing the notion that white supremacy was the biggest threat to America. The raging CNN host played an out of context, selectively edited, one-liner from Scott’s appearance in which he said: “Woke supremacy is as bad as white supremacy.”
By “woke supremacy,” Scott was, of course, referring to the left’s recent cancellation or alteration of certain brands or products for failing to adhere to their standards of political correctness.
It’s worth noting that Scott didn’t downplay or justify the ideology of racial superiority; instead, he suggested that other ideologies and practices could have deleterious implications as well.
Nonetheless, Lemon was demonstrably confounded and enraged that there existed a black man in America who didn’t see himself as a victim. “Come on, Tim Scott,” he yelled several times. Lemon’s rage built and he became increasingly louder until he finally said: “I know you don’t want me to yell, but this is outra—this is ridiculous!”
“Does he want – do you want to explain who these woke supremacists are? Because I looked really carefully and I didn’t – hang on, before we go to the video. I haven’t seen any woke supremacists. I never saw – I’ve never seen a woke supremacist lynching anybody. Never saw a woke supremacist denying anybody access to housing or a job or education or voting rights. Never saw any woke supremacists enslaving anybody. Never saw any woke supremacists trying to keep people from marrying amongst different races.
Come on, Tim Scott! I didn’t see any woke supremacists storming the blanking Capitol. Where are the woke supremacists attacking police? Where are the woke supremacists hunting police officers in the halls of the Capitol and beating them with blue lives matter signs with white supremacist insignia on their shirts and carrying white supremacist paraphernalia. Guess who I saw. Guess who police officers were beaten by. Guess who wanted to hang the vice president. White supremacists, Tim Scott!
What are you doing! The only black Republican with a woke supremacist carrying the confederate battle flag in the nation’s capital, Tim Scott. Tim! Tim—I have to; I know you don’t want me to yell, but this is outra—this is ridiculous! You are gaslighting people. You are giving people misinformation. What are you doing, brotha? What are you doing? What are you doing? You’re not helping.”
In a truly ironic moment, Lemon actually accused Scott of “giving people misinformation” and “gaslighting.” Mind you, Lemon received a multi-million-dollar salary to literally gaslight viewers and spread one-sided information for two consecutive hours, five nights a week.
Lemon also expressed outrage over the fact that Representative Glenn Grothman (R-WI) correctly stated that the Black Lives Matter organization “doesn’t like the old fashioned family.”
The phrase “doesn’t like” was an understatement. Until recently, Black Lives Matter’s website asserted: “We disrupt the Western-prescribed nuclear family.” (Below is a screenshot depicting the now-deleted webpage)
Lemon called Grothman’s statement “outrageous” and unabashedly defended the movement. Despite his position, wealth, and litany of opportunities, Lemon took to his usual self-victimization shtick and lamented the fact that he had a hard time (as many people do) determining his ancestry:
“It is outrageous. And again, I – if I have to say this every single night of my life while I’m here, I will. You need to know the history of this country. Do you know how many black families were separated during slavery? I’ve had my ancestry done twice. It is so hard to even find records that go back even two generations sometimes because what? The intentional separation of black families. And no records. You know why? They were considered property. So, it’s –God! Ugh! It just angers me sometimes that people can be so ignorant.”
On his show, Lemon often talks ad nauseam about the importance of having friends that are of varying races and ethnicities. Befriend someone who “doesn’t look like you,” Lemon often implores to viewers during the transition between Cuomo Prime Time and CNN Tonight. It’s demonstrable, however, from Lemon’s trashing of Congressmen Scott and Grothman that Lemon only seeks to befriend people who think like him.
Don Lemon’s shameless defense of the anti-American Black Lives Matter movement and his inexorable insistence that he—a cable news host earning millions of dollars annually—is a victim of oppression is brought to you, in part by, Allegra. DON LEMON: But while President Joe Biden is about to sign a presidency-defining bill, the GOP, the party of no, trying to distract and deflect with some really shameful statements about race, like this disgusting claim that Black Lives Matter doesn’t like families.
[CUTS TO CLIP OF REPRESENTATIVE GLENN GROTHMAN SPEAKING]
GLENN GROTHMAN [REPRESENTATIVE (R-WI)]: I know the strength that Black Lives Matters had in this last election. I know it’s a group, that it doesn’t like the old fashioned family. I’m disturbed that we have another program, here, in which we’re increasing the marriage penalty.
LEMON: Come on. Doesn’t like the old fashioned family. What does that mean when you’re – Black Lives Matter was about police brutality and violence and trying to keep family members and loved ones alive. Sounds like family values to me. What he said is not even coded racism. That’s right out—saying it right out loud. Saying it right out loud. People show you who they are, huh? He thinks he can just throw it in as an aside about Black Lives Matter, like nothing, the old fashioned family. What does old fashioned mean? Huh? What does old fashioned mean? What does that mean? Someone ask him that? Insulting millions and millions of black families. Stacey Plaskett not having it, not any of it.
[CUTS TO CLIP OF REPRESENTATIVE STACEY PLASKETT SPEAKING]
STACEY PLASKETT [DELEGATE (D-VI)]: How dare you – how dare you – say that Black Lives Matter, black people do not understand old fashioned families. Despite some of the issues, some of the things that you have put forward that I’ve heard out of your mouth in the oversight committee, in your own district, we have been able to keep your families alive for over 400 years. And the assault on our families to not have black lives or not even have black families. How dare you say that we are not interested in families in the black community. That is outrageous.
LEMON: It is outrageous. Ugh! It just angers me sometimes that people can be so ignorant. And then there’s Tim Scott. Tim Scott is the only black – the only – only – black Republican in the Senate telling Fox News – of course Fox News – that what he calls woke supremacy is as bad as white supremacy.
[CUTS TO CLIP OF TIM SCOTT ON FOX NEWS CHANNEL]
TIM SCOTT [SENATOR (R-SC)]: Woke supremacy is as bad as white supremacy.
LEMON: [AUDIBLE EXHALATION] Does he want – do you want to explain who these woke supremacists are? You’re not helping.

LEMON: So, let me just say, you know, every night, I try to use this platform for good and for honesty. And I don’t mean to get so upset. But, sometimes it’s so enraging when you look at what the people who are supposed to be leading the country, their actions and what they’re doing and what they’re focusing on and what they choose to say and do. And I think about all the people I meet every single day who are trying to make this a better country, who are struggling, who are trying to get along different races and ethnicities and backgrounds and all over, and who are just trying to do their thing, every day. And the people at the top are not serving them. Or as we say, doing them dirty. Some talk about woke supremacists. Come on. We don’t need catchy words and catchy buzz phrases about woke supremacists versus white supremacists. People need help. People need to come together. People need an America that works. Kids back in school. They don’t need people going on state TV and coming up with little catchy things so they can stay in office and stay in power. Serve the people of this country. Get together some bipartisanship and stop doing the people of this country, the people you’re supposed to serve, stop doing them dirty. Get it right
