EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW – Antonio Sabato Jr.: Democrats Care About Everyone, Except Americans (VIDEO)

Democrats care more about illegal immigrants than American citizens, warns actor-turned-GOP congressional candidate Antonio Sabato Jr.

“They care more about everyone else but the people in this country, who make this country great and we are going to keep making it great,” Saboto told Gateway Pundit on Sunday as he attended a Virginia Women for Trump event at the Trump International Hotel in DC. “They don’t inform the people of the truth. The lying media is controlling everything, but they don’t control the American people. We are proud to back our president. And I am going to get in Congress to help the people of Ventura county and make sure that we don’t become a sanctuary county.”

With the issue of family separations at the U.S. border dominating headlines, members of Congress, former officials, reporters and TV commentators have ramped up the “Trump-is-a-Nazi” line of attack,  tweeting comparisons of U.S. detention facilities to Nazi concentration camps and issuing  invocations of gas chambers in their tweets about children being led away from their parents by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents.

Reporters have peppered administration officials with questions about their “Nazi” tactics.

Sabato, whose family died in the Holocaust, blasted Democrats for comparing Trump to Hitler, arguing the president is enforcing already established immigration law and taking the necessary steps to secure the border.

“That’s insulting my family because my grandmother escaped Auschwitz, and her brother, my great grandparents died there during World War II. I am very much against this kind of rhetoric that’s been going on in this country,” he said. “We have to follow the law and we have laws on the books that if you cross this country illegally, you will be detained and sent back to your country, and we got to follow the law.”

“There are people who are using that [rhetoric] for their own party and not for the American people,” he continued. “We have to put America first and we have to keep fighting and putting people in Congress like myself, who support our president and support our flag and constitution.”

An illegal immigrant is twice as likely to commit a crime versus a natural born citizen and there are approximately 56,000 illegal immigrants in federal prisons.

American citizens should not have to be burdened with the expense of illegal immigration, Sabato lamented.

“What about the American people? How come we have to pay 120 billion dollars on illegal immigration every single year? That’s got to stop,” he said. “We need to follow the law and our constitution. We have great laws on the books. If we don’t’ have a border we don’t have a country?

The Italian-born heartthrob, is now running for a congressional seat in Ventura County, California. Earlier this month, Sabato advanced to the general election for the seat, coming in No. 2 in the primary and will face off against Democratic incumbent Julia Brownley in November.

During his appearance onstage at the Virginia Women for Trump event, a high tea and fashion show  to celebrate the president’s June birthday,  Sabato said he was “blacklisted” from Hollywood after he spoke at the Republican National Convent in support of Trump during the 2016 presidential election.

“I had an amazing career in show business for 31 years – been on General Hospital, been on a lot of shows. I’ve been on Dancing with the Stars, I’ve done a lot of good stuff. I did very well for myself,” he said. “Then one day I was asked by our president to come and speak at the RNC and it was one of the proudest moments of my life – that I was able to show up and support our president. I was the first celebrity to come out and say this is my guy I am going to support him.  And I don’t care what Hollywood thinks. I could care less. I do care what the future of this country would look like, that I do care about.”

“But when I went to Cleveland and spoke for our president, after I came back, my agents, my managers – they were all gone,” he continued. “I had jobs lined up they were all gone – Communism. I was blacklisted. And I say that because I stood up to that and we’re going to fight. We gotta fight, guys. If we don’t fight, nobody will. Our president is by himself. And I ask for your support.”
