Lying Joy Behar: No Host on ‘The View’ Has ‘Ever Said Anything Negative About Trump Voters’

The liberals on The View geared up to defend Michelle Wolf’s comedy routine for a second day, and Meghan McCain returned to underline how badly conservatives distrust the media elites. Whoopi Goldberg claimed “journalists are an endangered species.” But Joy Behar really took the cake by insisting that no panelist on The View ever attacked Trump voters, just Trump. That’s a Pants-on-Fire lie.

Here’s how it went down: Behar claimed that distrust in the media somehow started with the Trump presidential campaign and his “fake news” attacks, and that Kellyanne Conway coined the term “alternative facts.”

MEGHAN McCAIN, feeling embattled: Trust me, I understand what you’re saying and I’m trying to, like, again, just have my perspective. I don’t mean to disrespect any of you but I also think that I know Trump supporters. I know how they look at the media. There’s a reason why — by the way, I was against it when it happened when they would scream “look at the crooked media” and they would be yelling and screaming at them at rallies. There’s a palpable distrust and anger toward the media, and I think the dinner made it worse.

JOY BEHAR: On this panel no one – far as I could tell – has ever said anything negative about Trump voters. Our animosity is towards Trump himself.

McCAIN: Sixty-six percent of Democrats feel that way, too, my producer just told me. [In the Monmouth poll she cites, 66 percent of independents, and 61 percent of Democrats agreed the media sometimes spread misinformation.]

BEHAR: We do go after Trump, I admit it. I’m one of his worst critics on television. But I do not attack the Trump voters. I don’t think you’ve ever heard me say that.

McCAIN: That’s not you.

BEHAR: You’re talking about the vibe here. And the vibe is not against Trump voters.

Behar apparently believes that a few months ago she was only mocking Vice President Mike Pence, and not traditional Christians in general, when she cracked “It’s one thing to talk to Jesus. It’s another thing when Jesus talks to you. That’s called mental illness, if I’m not correct. Hearing voices.”

We might spend several days making a long list underlining how preposterous these Behar statements are. Let’s just throw a few examples at the wall:

GOP = The Taliban

Co-host Joy Behar: “How is [removing birth control employer mandate from ObamaCare] it different from the Taliban I’d like to know?”…
Co-host Whoopi Goldberg: “I said this before. I’m going to say it again. With all these rollbacks and all the things we hear, what’s the difference between us and the people we’re fighting?”
Behar: “Nothing.”
Goldberg: “What’s the difference?”
Behar: “That’s what I’m saying. It’s to keep women down also. Let’s not forget they are trying to keep women in their place. Barefoot and pregnant.”

A White Woman Lost Election Because Country is Racist?

“What cost her the election is FBI Director Comey, what cost her the election, in my humble opinion is Russia’s hacking and what cost her the election is if you look at the stats, people –  this was – I agree with Van Jones in a sense, this was a ‘white-lash.’ There’ve been studies. Twenty percent of people voted because of racism, and I think after eight years of a black president there was no way that this woman was going to win. There was no way….She was the most qualified candidate for president that we have ever had!”
— Co-host Sunny Hostin on ABC’s The View, May 3, 2017.

Trump Voters Hate Poor Kids Getting Anything for Free

“Can I have a second? I just want to say, there is a certain segment of the society that’s resentful of any poor child getting anything for free. Those people need to look in the mirror. There are certain people in this country they know who they are, a lot of them voted for Trump and there’s a resentment involved here.” – Joy Behar on The View, May 15, 2017.

Behar doesn’t just spew on The View. Promoting her book The Great Gasbag on MSNBC’s Morning Joe on November 24, 2017, she said she can’t handle Trump voters at dinner parties. “Because if you are a Trump supporter, there’s something going on with you that I can’t abide….That means that you don’t care about the environment. It means that you don’t care about women’s issues. It means you don’t care about the fact that he provokes that nutcase in North Korea. I’m worried about the country.”

Promoting that book on October 27, 2017 on HBO’s Real Time with Bill Maher, Behar mocked Van Jones. “He wants the Kumbaya. F— the Kumbaya! These people on that side are crazy! Don’t you understand they’re crazy? You don’t deal with white supremacists.” (She also said people should lay off the comedians, because “We are the philosophers right now.”)

PS: Joy has uncorked a variant of this “nobody mocks Trump supporters” argument before with Meghan McCain.
