Daily Mail Viciously Attacks Young White House Intern, Calls Gateway Pundit “Extremist” News Source
The other evening, the UK smut-rag Daily Mail took an odd departure from their usual articles on which celebrities are getting fat to attack a young intern at the White House, labeling him as a “white nationalist.” Why would they attack him, label him a white nationalist, and attempt to ruin this young man’s life? Because he “flashed” the okay sign during an intern group photo.
The young man implicated in this egregious abuse of media power, Jack Breuer, an Emory University graduate who worked for the president’s senior advisor Stephen Miller, is facing condemnation from every corner of the MSM for his alleged affront.
When all the controversy first swelled up over the “OK” hand-symbol it became a feeding frenzy for the left and for the MSM. Fortunately, the usually insane ADL decided to make a sane decision and pointed out that: a) the “OK” hand-symbol as a racist gesture is a 4Chan-linked hoax with a very specific political message (that the left will believe anything is racist – and they did); and b) it simply does not mean “white power”, it never has, and the absurdity of the left’s wholesale acceptance of the hand gesture as a racist dogwhistle proves the intended point behind the implementation of the gesture in the first place.
The site 4chan is an anonymous discussion board with an outsized cultural impact on the Internet. It has been responsible for everything from the “I can haz cheeseburger” cat meme to the concept of rickrolling. There is little that 4channers like so much as a hoax and in recent months they have served up a number of fakeries with white supremacist themes to largely credulous on-line audiences.
The “OK” hand gesture hoax originated in February 2017 when an anonymous 4channer announced “Operation O-KKK,” telling other members that “we must flood Twitter and other social media websites…claiming that the OK hand sign is a symbol of white supremacy.” The user even provided a helpful graphic showing how the letters WP (for “white power”) could be traced within an “OK” gesture. The originator and others also suggested useful hashtags to help spread the hoax, such as #PowerHandPrivilege and #NotOkay. “Leftists have dug so deep down into their lunacy,” wrote the poster, “We must force [them] to dig more, until the rest of society ain’t going anywhere near that s***.”
Beyond attacks against Breuer, the Daily Mail decided to also attack the Gateway Pundit, writing:
The sign has gained popularity among the so-called alt-right. Writers Jim Hoft and Lucien Wintrich of the extremist Gateway Pundit posed at the podium of the White House Briefing Room making the sign — although Wintrich used his left hand, destroying its significance.
They, apparently, check their facts just as evidentially as they check their spelling.
In that one paragraph alone the writer breaks down their own stupidity and ignorance the situation. By saying that the use of a left hand rather than my right destroyed the significance of the gesture is to completely miss the point: THERE IS NO SIGNIFICANCE.
But that didn’t stop them, to go as far as the Daily Mail has, and attempt to run the life of a young and promising intern at the White House is a disgusting display of the trash heap that MSM is currently wallowing in. Other articles by the same Daily Mail Writer named Martin Gould involve similarly misreported stories from false “hate crimes” against black lesbian couples to misrepresentations of the Trump family.
Commentator Mike Cernovich also dedicated a Periscope video to calling out the Daily Mail’s disgusting stunt:
Media ruined a kid’s life over a lie, what is wrong with them? https://t.co/0z3UzSAgpU
