On Monday, a St.Louis, Missouri leftist lawyer who describes herself as “America’s go-to expert, host, author and commentator on compelling legal, political, women’s, children’s and celebrity issues,” and has appeared on various networks, including CNN and ABC News, decided to tweet a massive lie comparing the need for an I.D. to vote with the need for an I.D. to buy a gun.

Areva Martin had already attacked the GOP in the wake of the Florida school shooting, tweeting this last Friday:

I’m so angry about the GOP’s role in the massacre of our kids! They have taken millions of dollars from the NRA; they refuse to discuss even sensible gun control; and for nearly 2 decades they have prevented the CDC from studying gun violence! #Shameful #FloridaSchoolShooting

But on Monday, she ratcheted up her rhetoric to a new zenith with this tweet:

in oregon, you need your id, and by law you’re also background checked if purchase from a store, and if your buying from another person you need to be at a shriffs office or store to get said background check…

This isn’t correct. I live in NC and you are required to show ID, pass a background check (for the purchase permits) and file your weapon (once purchase permits are used this happens automatically). Please don’t lie to Americans to further a narrative.
