Failure to launch? Judge orders 30-year-old man out of parents’ house

Patron saint for his age, the most overgrown crybaby, or both? Michael Ratondo has captured the nation’s imagination — and not in a good way — he went to court to stop his parents from evicting him. The Ratondos have asked their son to leave for months, but Michael wanted the court to grant him at least another half year to get his act together.

The judge was, er … unsympathetic, although he was impressed with Ratondo fils’ legal research. He certainly has plenty of time for it, which was one of the reasons his parents want him out of the house:

Greenwood credited Rotondo’s legal research in finding a prior case that appeared to show that family members get six months before an eviction. Rotondo dismissed his work as a simple internet search that took only minutes.

Greenwood provided a copy of the appellate court decision that overrode the case that Rotondo cited. Rotondo maintained that what Greenwood was doing was wrong. …

But after half an hour of back-and-forth, primarily between the son, Michael Rotondo, and the judge, the judge had had enough:

Rotondo would have to move out, the judge ruled. He also ordered adult protective services to investigate, expressing concern about what was going on.

Ratondo tells ABC News that the requests for his departure and then eviction notices actually began eight months ago, when the unemployed man lost custody of his son. I wonder how that happened.  Ratondo further claims that his parents owe him their sympathy for that trauma, and that his presence in the house isn’t “bothering” his parents, despite the fact that they had to go to court to force him out. Is it possible to be this clueless? All signs point to yes:

Rotondo, who plans to appeal the decision, said he stopped speaking to his parents when they “alluded” to wanting him to leave the house in October, just one month after he lost custody and visitation rights of his son.

“I’m not bothering them by living here,” Michael Rotondo said in an interview with ABC News’ “Good Morning America.” “It’s little to no cost to them, and considering how much they’ve harassed me, I think it’s the least that they should be required to do, which is just let me hang here a bit longer and use their hot water and electricity.”

So why didn’t his parents want him to stay? Because the 30-year-old didn’t want to take care of himself, nor did he see the need to do so:

By the end of October, Michael Rotondo said his parents were demanding he get a full-time job, health insurance and sessions with a therapist, but he said he “didn’t need any of those things.”

Of course he didn’t — his full-time job was leeching off Mom and Dad. They even gave him $1100 to move out and find a new place, money which Ratondo accepted. What did he do with it? He “used the money for other things,” Ratondo told ABC, “but I don’t regret that.” It’s a safe bet his parents do, though, along with lots of other decisions regarding their son.

Not that he needs the money, Ratondo says. He has his own business which will be making tons of money real soon. So what is it? He didn’t elaborate with ABC, nor in a press conference he called after the court hearing

He then called out for television camera crews to meet him outside the courthouse. There, he answered their questions, telling them he occupies a bedroom in his parents’ home, doesn’t speak to them and isn’t ready to leave home. He said he had a business but wouldn’t elaborate.

“My business is my business,” he said.

Perhaps his girlfriend in Canada is helping him run it, too.

The judge still has to finalize the eviction order with a move-out date, but Ratondo says he plans to appeal. If only he’d put this much effort into getting a job, perhaps his parents wouldn’t have been so anxious to get him out of their house.

Seattle moves from soaking the rich to … soaking everyone else

As our friend Hugh Hewitt wonders, it’s tough to see why anyone does business in Seattle these days. Fresh off its imposition of a “head tax” on its most successful businesses, the city council has now begun an effort to raise the limit on property taxes on both businesses and homes, not long after the state of Washington already hiked their levies. The city wants to expand free preschool programs and offer free community college, but it will be anything but free to property owners and businesses:

People who own a home in King County are paying about 17% more in property taxes this year than last year to help pay for the state’s funding of public education.

But come November, Seattle leaders will be asking voters to approve a bit more of an increase for city dwellers.

City Council members say while the state funding property tax hike pays for basic education, the levy they want to be renewed will be an extra investment to ensure that kids from preschool to high school will have what it takes to succeed.

But don’t call it a tax hike, says one council member. It’s an enhancement!

In 2014, Seattle voters approved a $58 million levy allowing low-income kids to go to preschool for free. …

“So it’s just an enhancement of the property tax that people are currently paying and have been since 2011,” Gonzalez said.

The mayor’s office projects that it will cost Seattle homeowners an extra $5 a week, but that adds up — and it’s not the only tax enhancement they’ve faced over the last few years. Businesses will undoubtedly get hit harder, either on property they own directly or by increased lease costs from landlords. The Amazons of Seattle will likely be able to absorb it by passing costs on to their customers, as will the wealthier residents of the city so enamored of the idea of offering “free” services funded by others.

It’s the middle class that will get hammered with these tax hikes, and they’re already getting pummeled with all the tax hikes that came before it, as one resident explained:

“It’s not just homelessness. It’s the bike lanes and budget overruns, the Bertha tunnel, and the overruns on that, the First Ave streetcar and overruns on that,” Seattle resident Matt Dubin said. Dubin is a local attorney now running to become a state lawmaker this year. He says he is upset over city leaders squeezing out the middle class. “It’s making it impossible for the middle class to live in Seattle. If we keep going down this road nobody will be able to live in Seattle except for the very rich and the homeless,” Dubin said.

And it might not even stop there. The “very rich” have other options too, and they’ll eventually exercise them. That will leave the few middle-class residents and business owners remaining holding the bag. Better to get out now than get stuck with that bill. Or, better yet, elect city council members with a lick of economic sense and operational competency.

Watch: Dashcam video released of woman who claimed a Texas cop sexually assaulted her

Texas law enforcement released footage featuring the arrest of Sherita Dixon Cole, and her account of the night — which included lurid allegations of sexual assault — were proven entirely false as a result.

Now the state’s Department of Public Safety is calling Cole’s lie a “despicable, slanderous, and false accusation,” and even Cole’s attorney has jumped ship on his support for her.

What’s the background here?

Activist and writer Shaun King reported allegations on Sunday that a Texas state trooper sexually assaulted a black woman during a traffic stop.

According to the report, an officer pulled the woman — Sherita Dixon Cole — over early Sunday morning on suspicion of driving under the influence.

After standard sobriety tests — and passing them, according to King — the officer reportedly decided to take Cole into custody anyway, simply because he didn’t like her “attitude.”

The officer reportedly placed Cole in the front seat, and the rest, as they say, is history.

King reported Cole’s graphic account, which alleged that the officer had sexually assaulted her several times on the way to the police station.

Cole was reportedly booked for DUI/DWI upon arrival at the station.

She reportedly visited a hospital after she was released later on Sunday.

An internal investigation rendered reports that said the dashcam footage did not support Cole’s claims.

A statement from the Texas Department of Public Safety reported that dashcam footage would be made public so long as the district attorney cleared the reveal.

What is being said now?

The district attorney did clear the tape’s release, and the footage was revealed Tuesday.

The Texas Department of Public Safety released the video and wrote in a statement shared on Facebook:

On May 20, 2018, at approximately 1:32 a.m., a Texas Highway Patrol Trooper observed a 2013 Chevrolet Malibu traveling south on Interstate 35 in Ellis County near U.S. 287. The vehicle was stopped for a traffic violation. Based on the traffic stop, the driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated (DWI). The driver, identified as Sherita Dixon-Cole, 37, from Grapevine, was arrested and transported to the Ellis County Jail, where she was charged with DWI.

Following the arrest, spurious and false accusations related to this traffic stop were made against the Texas Trooper. Upon learning of those allegations, the Texas Department of Public Safety immediately took action to review the video in connection with this traffic stop and arrest. The video shows absolutely no evidence to support the egregious and unsubstantiated accusations against the Trooper during the DWI arrest of the suspect. The Department is appalled that anyone would make such a despicable, slanderous and false accusation against a peace officer who willingly risks his life every day to protect and serve the public.

At the department’s request, the Ellis County District Attorney’s Office has reviewed video of the traffic stop and arrest, and authorized the release of the video. The department today proactively and publicly released the video captured by the Trooper’s body camera, which can be viewed in its entirety at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aptl7ot189o.

(Note: Certain sections of the video have been blurred or rendered inaudible to protect information that is confidential by state statute, including Cole’s personally identifiable information.)

S. Lee Merritt, Cole’s attorney, released a statement on Tuesday defending the Texas police department.

Merritt wrote:

The body camera footage released directly conflicts with the accounts reported to my office. There is no readily apparent evidence of tampering with the footage. Officer Daniel Hubbard seems to comport himself professionally during the duration of the traffic stop and arrest and— without more— should be cleared of any wrongdoing. It is deeply troubling when innocent parties are falsely accused and I am truly sorry for any trouble these claims may have caused Officer Hubbard and his family. I take full responsibility for amplifying these claims to the point of national concern. This office regularly receives hundreds of complaints of abuse from across the nation and we are obligated to filter these messages thoroughly before relaying them to our powerful allies. Our office necessarily takes claims of abuse— particularly by law enforcement officers— very seriously. It is our responsibility to call for swift, transparent and thorough investigation into any such accusation. Our calls for professionalism and adherence to protocol, however, should not be misconstrued as a rush to judgment. To the contrary, our goal in presenting claims of misconduct is to arrive as quickly and as accurately as possible to the truth. We are thankful to the members of the community willing to echo our demands for transparency and justice. However, in this matter it seems your righteous vigilance was abused.

King has yet to tweet about the latest development, and has, in fact, apparently removed his initial posting from Facebook, which went viral shortly after the time of posting.

You can watch the video in its entirety below.

Trump Goes Scorched Earth on FBI Spy Campaign: ‘Follow the Money, the Spy Was Only There to Help Crooked Hillary Win’

Trump Goes Scorched Earth on FBI Spy Campaign: ‘Follow the Money, the Spy Was Only There to Help Crooked Hillary Win’

President Trump unleashed on the FBI’s infiltration of his campaign Tuesday evening in a pair of tweets.

The President said, “Follow the money!” the spy wasn’t there to find ‘Russian collusion,’ he was there to help Crooked Hillary win the election!

President Trump, please never stop tweeting!

President Trump lit up Twitter Tuesday evening after he tweeted what we are all thinking–the spies infiltrated his campaign for political purposes to help Hillary Clinton win the election.

Trump tweeted: If the person placed very early into my campaign wasn’t a SPY put there by the previous Administration for political purposes, how come such a seemingly massive amount of money was paid for services rendered – many times higher than normal…

Trump then slams Crooked Hillary: …Follow the money! The spy was there early in the campaign and yet never reported Collusion with Russia, because there was no Collusion. He was only there to spy for political reasons and to help Crooked Hillary win – just like they did to Bernie Sanders, who got duped!

The informant, Stefan Halper, was paid a total of $411,575 in 2016 and 2017 for work with the US government that included spying on the Trump campaign.

It was a lucrative business for Stefan Halper.

Now the Democrats are in spin mode.

They went from ‘there was no spy inside of Trump’s camp’ to ‘the informant was there to help protect Trump against the Russians.’

Former DNI Chief James Clapper is claiming embedding spies is “a standard investigative practice.”

Hillary Clinton wanted to spy on her political opponent and she accomplished her goal with help from Obama’s weaponized intel agencies.

President Trump is right; Spygate is worse than Watergate.

Earlier Tuesday, President Trump told reporters, “If they had spies in my campaign, that would be a disgrace to this country.”

NBC’s Full-Blown Panic Over IG Investigation into DOJ Demanded by Trump

The Department of Justice’s internal watchdog has opened an investigation into the conduct of the FBI regarding their reported use of an “informant” or “spy” in the Trump campaign after the President officially demanded the matter be looked into on Monday. Come Tuesday evening, NBC Nightly News was in a hysterical panic over the development with claims President Trump was trying to “insert himself” into Russia investigation.

As anchor Lester Holt led into their hyperventilating segment, he declared, “while he was speaking in the Oval Office today, President Trump also took new aim at the Russia probe and raised new questions about whether he is inserting himself into the investigation.” This was alluding to the hyperbolic liberal media assertion that Trump is acting like a dictator by investigating his enemies.

The only problem? Trump was not orchestrating or running the investigation, so if they find nothing they find nothing. It’s worth noting that the last time the Inspector General looked into alleged misconduct by the FBI, it resulted in the firing of Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe.

But that fact didn’t stop NBC White House correspondent Kristen Welker from making what sounded like doomsday announcements. “Tonight President Trump is escalating his assault on the investigators who are investigating him, prompting a critical question, is the President threatening the long-standing independence of the Justice Department,” she proclaimed as she began her report.

And it’s not just the president,” Welker warned, figuratively clutching pearls. “His allies on Capitol Hill are also trying to discredit the investigation with a group of Republicans calling for a second special counsel to investigate the Justice Department and FBI.” For what it’s worth, NBC was the only network in the big three (ABC, CBS, and NBC) to mention this latest move by congressional Republicans.

Welker also leaned on comments from former Director of National Security James Clapper (made on The View of all places) to defend the Justice Department:

JOY BEHAR: Was the FBI spying on Trump’s campaign?

JAMES CLAPPER: No, they were not. They were spying on — a term I don’t particularly like — but on what the Russians were doing.

Of course, Welker failed to mention that Clapper was caught lying to Congress and the American people about the NSA’s wide-reaching domestic spying program.

The NBC reporter also talked with former Obama-era FBI Assistant Director Frank Figliuzzi to fling speculation about the President’s motives. “If this continues, there will be more than a standoff. There will be a constitutional crisis. I believe that’s exactly what the President may want,” he bitterly surmised.

The liberal media was desperately trying to paint Trump’s actions in calling for an IG investigation as somehow inappropriate even though within his purview as President. There very well could be no “there” there and the investigation will end with nothing happening. But again, the last time the FBI was investigated for misconduct, there was a firing. Ironically, they’re behaving in the same Trumpian fashion they complain the President does.

[Cuts to video]

KRISTEN WELKER: Tonight President Trump is escalating his assault on the investigators who are investigating him, prompting a critical question, is the President threatening the long-standing independence of the Justice Department; amid revelations an FBI informant had contact with his campaign during the 2016 election.

DONALD TRUMP: If they had spies in my campaign, that would be a disgrace to this country. That would be one of the biggest insults that anyone’s ever seen. It would be very illegal.

WELKER: The fiery words come after President Trump demanded his deputy attorney general, Rod Rosenstein find out whether that FBI informant was used for political purposes. Mr. Trump even refusing to say whether he has confidence in Rosenstein.

UNIDENTIFIED REPORTER: Do you have confidence in Rod Rosenstein.

TRUMP: What’s your next question, please?

WELKER: And it’s not just the president. His allies on Capitol Hill are also trying to discredit the investigation with a group of Republicans calling for a second special counsel to investigate the Justice Department and FBI.

MARK MEADOWS: It is time for transparency, and it’s time to allow the American people to know the truth.

WELKER: Former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper insisting there was no wrongdoing by the FBI.

JOY BEHAR: Was the FBI spying on Trump’s campaign?

JAMES CLAPPER: No, they were not. They were spying on — a term I don’t particularly like — but on what the Russians were doing.

WELKER: Tonight law enforcement experts warn –

FRANK FIGLIUZZI: If this continues, there will be more than a standoff. There will be a constitutional crisis. I believe that’s exactly what the President may want.

Spotify Announces Partnership with Far-Left Groups Including SPLC to Police Platform

Music streaming service Spotify has announced a partnership with several far-left groups, including the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), in an attempt to police the platform and remove “hate content.”

The groups include the SPLC, the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), Color of Change, GLAAD, Showing Up For Racial Justice, Muslim Advocates, and the International Network Against Cyber Hate.

“We love that our platform is home to so much diversity because we believe in openness, tolerance, respect, and freedom of expression, and we want to promote those values through music on our platform,” declared Spotify in a blog post. “However, we do not tolerate hate content on Spotify — content that expressly and principally promotes, advocates, or incites hatred or violence against a group or individual based on characteristics, including, race, religion, gender identity, sex, ethnicity, nationality, sexual orientation, veteran status, or disability.”

“When we are alerted to content that violates our policy, we may remove it (in consultation with rights holders) or refrain from promoting or playlisting it on our service. It’s important to us that our values are reflected in all the work that we do, whether it’s distribution, promotion, or content creation,” they explained. “At the same time, however, it’s important to remember that cultural standards and sensitivities vary widely. There will always be content that is acceptable in some circumstances, but is offensive in others, and we will always look at the entire context.”

“To help us identify hate content, we have partnered with rights advocacy groups, including The Southern Poverty Law Center, The Anti-Defamation League, Color Of Change, Showing Up for Racial Justice (SURJ), GLAAD, Muslim Advocates, and the International Network Against Cyber Hate,” Spotify revealed, adding, “We also built an internal content monitoring tool, Spotify AudioWatch, which identifies content on our platform that has been flagged as hate content on specific international registers. And we listen to our users – if you think something is hate content, please let us know and we will review it carefully against our policy.”

Spotify continued to claim that this was just the “first iteration” of the new policy, concluding, “We’ll make some mistakes, we’ll learn from them, and we’ll always listen to you as we work to keep building the Spotify platform.”

The SPLC, which has been financially backed by Hollywood actor George Clooney and Apple CEO Tim Cook, has previously listed British Muslim anti-extremist Maajid Nawaz, United States Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Dr. Ben Carson, and an entire town on its extremist database.

Despite this, several violent extremists have been inspired by the SPLC, including Scalise shooter James T. Hodgkinson, and convicted domestic terrorist Floyd Lee Corkins II, who attempted a mass shooting at a conservative Christian organization after seeing it on the SPLC’s hate list.

Jonathan Greenblatt, the president of the Anti-Defamation League, is a former Obama staffer, while the other Spotify-partnered organizations are also tied to left-wing politics.

“Color Of Change partners with Black Lives Matter to press for ‘racial justice’ and has spearheaded boycotts against Bill O’Reilly, Glenn Beck, and Trump’s inauguration; SURJ is dedicated to fighting ‘white supremacy,’ removing Confederate statues, and supporting the anti-Trump resistance; GLAAD is an LGBT activist group that attacks the Trump administration on a daily basis (even on such unrelated issues as gun control),” reported PJ Media. “Muslim Advocates has joined with groups like the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) to attack anti-Jihadist Muslims like M. Zuhdi Jasser; and the International Network Against Cyber Hate has a broad mission but it has partnered with leftist groups like the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC).”

ADAMS: Liberal Ideology Is An Incapable Guardian

The recent shooting at Santa Fe High School, not far from where I grew up, compels me to revisit an issue I expounded upon in my last book, Letters to a Young Progressive. Because so many are unnecessarily complicating the discussion of what causes school shootings – and what can be done to stop them – I felt the need to take time to weigh in on the issue. The first step in doing so is to remind readers that crime is best viewed as an event that takes place when three conditions are fulfilled:

  1. There must be a motivated offender to commit the crime.
  2. The motivated offender must encounter a suitable target for the crime.
  3. There must be an absence of capable guardians to stop the crime.

This threefold explanation of crime isn’t new. It’s part of a theory first introduced by Lawrence Cohen and Marcus Felson in 1979. It is called Routine Activities Theory for a good reason. To put it succinctly, Cohen and Felson wanted the name of the theory to reflect their contention that crime rates are affected by the routine activities of non-criminals and not just the behavior of the criminal. Felson provides numerous examples in his book Crime and Everyday Life. First, I will apply the theory to gun violence in general before moving to the more specific issue of school shootings and what we should do about them.

The concept of the motivated offender isn’t hard to explain. Crimes simply do not occur without motives. In the case of armed robbery, someone might attack a victim motivated by nothing more than a desire to obtain the victim’s wallet – so he can spend the victim’s cash and use his credit cards.

The concept of the suitable target is not much more complicated. Put simply, the armed robber is unlikely to attack a large man wearing an NRA t-shirt. He will select a victim that is less likely to fight back and easier to overcome. The armed robber will consider the victim’s size and his body language – in order to gauge both his ability and willingness to fend off an attack. Obviously, he will also consider the likelihood that the potential victim is armed.

Finally, the concept of the capable guardian reminds us that other actors beside the victim and perpetrator affect the chances of any crime occurring. It should not surprise anyone that robbers generally seek to pounce upon isolated victims in areas where no eyewitness are to be found. Nor should it surprise anyone that this is more likely to take place in a physical location where potential onlookers are unlikely to be armed. The alley is a good place for a mugging. Better still if near a bar district where alcohol is consumed and guns are generally forbidden.

This provides a rather obvious transition into the more specific issue of school shootings and what is to be done about them. Obviously, liberals and conservatives have very different views about which of the three conditions should be the focal point of any response to school shootings. But first it would be helpful to discuss what they agree about.

Conservatives and liberals may well disagree about the efficacy of arming citizens as a means of making them less suitable targets of crime. But, to state the obvious, they do agree that arming students as a means of reducing school shootings is not the solution. So that leaves us with only two options. The one you pick depends upon your view of human nature, which is inextricably tied to your political ideology.

Because he has a tendency to view human beings as intrinsically good, the liberal sees reducing the prevalence of motivated offenders as the preferred solution. If people are good, then they only become criminals because of “society.” Hence, reforming “society” will help reform the criminal. Add to that a penchant for counseling and a therapeutic model soon emerges. The problem with this approach is that it takes a lot of time and money to cure whole societies and even individual criminals.

Because he has a tendency to view human beings as intrinsically broken, the conservative sees increasing the prevalence of capable guardians as the preferred solution. He wants to place armed security guards in public schools. And while he might not favor training and arming schoolteachers, he sees no reason to keep those who are already trained and licensed carriers from having their permits nullified simply because they are on school grounds.

Ultimately, conservatives and liberals must put their ideological differences aside. If there is to be progress, both groups must agree to allow one another to put their ideas into practice within the public school system. Towards that end, there is both good news and bad news.

The good news is that conservatives are not actively opposing liberal efforts to reduce motivated offenders. For example, there is no conservative movement to eliminate school counselors in response to these tragic shootings. Conservatives simply seek to supplement the therapeutic approach with their own ideas.

The bad news is that liberals will have none of it. They generally oppose armed security guards in high schools and they certainly oppose lifting the ban on concealed carry permits in our public schools. The liberal Los Angeles Times recently even opposed metal detectors – and for precisely the same reason: These are all painful reminders of the conservative view of human nature.

Instead of metal detectors, the Los Angeles Times editors recommended, “Shared parks, clinics and recreational facilities” adding, “These help to make neighborhoods safer as people engage in community activities together; they also create stronger support for schools.”

In short, liberals are more dedicated to preserving naïve visions of human nature than preserving vulnerable children. And that is why we have not seen the last of the shootings.

A new poll shows a stunning reversal for the midterm election – here’s what it says

In a stunning reversal of fortunes for the midterm elections, Republicans are now ahead for the first time, says a new Reuters poll.

Here’s what the poll showed

“Say good-bye to the D-advantage in the generic ballot,” announced Chris Kahn, the polling editor for Thomson Reuters.

“Our latest Reuters/Ipsos poll shows that registered voters as likely to support Republicans as Democrats,” he added.

The poll question, known as the generic ballot, asks participants to say whether they would vote for a Democrat or a Republican if the midterm vote were to be held today. While Democrats have been favored for months, support for Republicans has grown to the point where they are now leading.

When the results are filtered for just registered voters, Republicans see a 2 percentage point advantage, from 39 percent to 36.7 percent. While the difference isn’t a great one, it is when compared to the past advantage Democrats had seen. In December Democrats held a 14.5 percentage point advantage among registered voters – 46.7 percent to 32.3 percent.

Kahn tweeted about the “vanishing D-lead,” saying, “over the past few days we’ve seen a drop in support for D-candidates among D voters and an increase in support for R-candidates among R and I voters.”

The Democrats, who have been excited about a “blue wave” that has shown a major advantage for them in the past, need only 3 seats to flip the U.S. Senate to their side, and 23 seats in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Newt Gingrich: People Like Clapper, Brennan… “Are in Danger of Going to Jail” (VIDEO)

Newt Gingrich: People Like Clapper, Brennan… “Are in Danger of Going to Jail” (VIDEO)

Former Speaker New Gingrich joined Laura Ingraham on Tuesday night to discuss the ever expanding Obama Deep State scandal. In the last week we have learned that the Obama campaign inserted spies inside the Donald Trump presidential campaign and used them to try to entrap Trump campaign officials in a fake Russia conspiracy. Now the Trump campaign officials are speaking out and it looks like there was more than one Obama spy inside the Trump campaign.

This is unprecedented in the history of the United States.
And, of course, these Obama hacks tried desperately to hide this from the American people.

Newt Gingrich: People like Clapper and the former Director of the Central Intelligence Agency, all these guys thought they could get away with this… Now you are watching people who I think in every case are in danger of going to jail. If the system works and people are actually tested on, “Did you tell the truth under oath?” Clapper’s a perfect example.

Lock them all up and throw away the key!

Trump’s Immigration Crackdown Opening Construction Jobs for Women

President Trump’s tightened labor market through increased enforcement of immigration is forcing home builders to recruit American women, rather than relying on cheap, illegal alien workers.

A new report by MarketWatch reveals how the tightened labor market is securing construction jobs and opportunities for women who would otherwise have been passed on in favor of cheaper foreign laborers.

The report notes:

There are several demographics, not just immigrant men, that home builders will have to start tapping as a labor source. Alison Charley is the face of another: women. [Emphasis added]

Rob Dietz, the economist for the industry association, agrees. “I particularly challenge remodelers and builders to recruit more women,” he said. “I think that will occur as the industry capitalizes.” [Emphasis added]

While women are being recruited for construction jobs, home builders and Moody’s Analytics Chief Economist Mark Zandi complain that the dried-up supply of cheap, illegal workers is a crisis that must be ended by importing more foreign workers to flood the labor force.

“Without more immigration, even if we maintain the current level, we’ve got a problem,” Zandi told MarketWatch. “It’s not just about attracting more, it’s also about keeping the ones you have.”

“The crackdown on illegals is terrifying,” Zandi said. “It’s causing people to leave. More Mexicans leave than come here. That clearly is not helpful.”

Meanwhile, like farmers, home builders are increasingly turning to mechanization rather than relying on cheap, foreign workers. That automation can be seen in this Vice News report which profiles a bricklaying robot named “Sam.”

In Trump’s tightened labor market, there has been history-making wage growth for American workers in the construction industry, the garment industry, for workers employed at small businessesblack Americans, and restaurant workers.

The tight labor market has also secured higher wages for overtime workers and high-paying, coveted white-collar jobs for American teenagers.
