‘President’ Pelosi Uses Eight Pens in Signing Ceremony for Bill to Reopen Government

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) held a presidential-style signing ceremony Friday night for the continuing resolution funding the federal government until February 15 that passed the House and Senate moments before. Surrounded by several senior House Democrats, Pelosi signed the bill using eight different pens which she then handed out to her fellow Democrats–just like presidents do in special bill signing ceremonies.
Pelosi invited the media to cover her ‘presidential’ bill signing ceremony.
This is how the shutdown ends.

In her ceremonial office, @SpeakerPelosi uses 8 pens to sign her name to bill providing 3 weeks of funding to end the partial Government shutdown. (The other day, Pres Trump ridiculed the practice of using multiple pens to sign one’s name on a document. Called it “a disaster.”) pic.twitter.com/YvByFOe2Yl

Pelosi also had a live video online. Her office played it straight in describing the event, but the usurper symbolism is self-evident.
The House just passed legislation to re-open government and end the #TrumpShutdown. Watch as we prepare the legislation to be sent to President Trump. #EndTheShutdown https://t.co/vR9T3QyEcY
