Liberals in Washington and in the media are insisting up and down that there’s no crisis at the nation’s southern border and that President Donald Trump has manufactured the issue out of thin air.

But while they sit in their ivory towers, people who deal with the border on a daily basis are saying something very different.

On Tuesday, a veteran Arizona sheriff pushed back against the narrative that the president invented this crisis during testimony at the Capitol.

“I have been in Pima County for 32 years,” Sheriff Mark Napier said. “We have had a border crisis for all 32 years that I have been in Pima County.”

The sheriff said details of law enforcement in his county — which includes Tucson and covers a large stretch of the U.S.-Mexico border — have changed over the years but the fundamental problems are not new.

“The nuances and the elements of that crisis have evolved over time, but nonetheless, we have had a crisis all this while,” Napier said.

The sheriff, who has been involved in Arizona law enforcement since the 1980s, scolded liberals such as House Homeland Security Chairman Bennie Thompson, D-Miss., who have suggested that Trump fabricated the border issue as nothing but a political talking point.

“To promulgate the idea that this is a crisis created or manufactured by the current administration is simply false,” Napier said, according to the Washington Examiner.

“No reasonable, thinking person could assume the current administration has sought to entice families with children and unaccompanied minors to come in caravans to our border, or in some manner, sought an escalation of the trafficking of hard narcotics into our country,” the sheriff said.

That was a reference to the many groups that have set off from Central America in recent months, pushing north and often clashing with border agents in Mexico and the United States.

There is strong evidence that those caravans are being organized by radical leftists, certainly not by Trump.

Democratic lawmakers aren’t the only ones who have tried to downplay the situation at the border. Numerous left-leaning media outlets have scoffed at the idea of a crisis and openly mocked Trump for taking the problem seriously.

Last year, for example, MSNBC ran a story that declared the border crisis “doesn’t exist.”

“Trump is scrambling to respond to an emergency that exists only in conservatives’ imaginations,” Steve Benen wrote on the official blog page for “The Rachel Maddow Show.”

But the expert responsible for keeping a large portion of Arizona safe has a very different take.

“To suggest that there does not exist a crisis on our southern border is intellectually dishonest. To be steadfast to that assertion despite clear evidence to the contrary is to be intellectually dishonest with malice,” Napier testified.

He isn’t alone. Even former President Barack Obama’s homeland security secretary, Jeh Johnson, admitted just days ago — on MSNBC, no less — that “we are truly in a crisis” at the border.

When you boil it down, there are really only two possibilities: Either sheriffs and law enforcement experts across the country are all lying about what’s happening at the U.S.-Mexico border, or liberals are playing dishonest political games to spite Trump.

The Alabama House of Representatives is standing up against the barbaric practice of abortion by passing a bill that would send abortionists to prison for life.

The bill, which passed the House Tuesday, would make it a Class A felony, punishable by life or 10 to 99 years in prison, for doctors to perform an abortion, according to the Montgomery Advertiser.

Mothers would not be punished for seeking an abortion.

Of course, the bill still needs to pass in the Senate and receive the signature of Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey, a Republican, before it can become law. But this is a huge first step.

It would also face a court fight, of course. But according to the Advertiser, the bill’s sponsor, Republican state Rep. Terri Collins, said the measure is intended to force a direct judicial challenge to the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court ruling from 1973, which legalized abortion.

“The heart of this bill is to confront a decision that was made by the courts in 1973 that said the baby in the womb is not a person,” Collins said, according to the Advertiser.

“This bill addresses that one issue. Is that baby in the womb a person? I believe our law says it is. I believe our people say it is. And I believe technology shows it is.”

The bill provides exceptions, according to the Advertiser, “if the life of the mother was threatened, or if a mental illness meant giving birth would lead to the woman’s death or that of her child. The bill would also provide an exception for a ‘lethal anomaly,’ where the child would die shortly after birth or be stillborn.”

Naturally, the bill drew criticism from Democrats, who utilized the left’s typical talking points on abortion.

“Nobody knows what a woman goes through,” Democratic Rep. Louise Alexander said, according to the Advertiser. “You don’t know why I may want to have an abortion. It could be because of my health. It could be many reasons.”

After two hours of debate, Democrats walked off the floor before the vote on Tuesday, making the final tally 73-4, according to Fox News.

And while Democrats were disgruntled, the vote resulted in enthusiastic applause from Republican lawmakers.

The bill isn’t law yet, but it’s a huge step for the pro-life movement, especially as far-left states like New York move in a radical direction.

Of course, we’re a long way from the point where abortionists nationally are treated the way Kermit Gosnell was. Gosnell was found guilty in 2013 of first-degree murder for killing three babies in his West Philadelphia abortion clinic after they had survived his attempts at aborting them. He was sentenced to life in prison without possibility of parole.

Gosnell’s story was told in several places including the 2018 movie “Gosnell: The Trial of America’s Biggest Serial Killer,” and the documentary “3801 Lancaster: An American Tragedy.”

Some states, tragically, are actually expanding — or considering expanding — abortion’s reach.

Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam infamously considered post-birth abortion earlier this year as Virginia Democrats planned to pass a bill legalizing late-term abortion after New York lawmakers passed a similar bill legalizing late-term abortions.

Meanwhile, lawmakers in states like Ohio, Georgia, and Alabama are taking a stand against American infanticide.

The liberal Supreme Court majority of 1973 might have thought it was settling the abortion debate forever, but the pro-life movement is never going away.

More than two-thirds of Americans want an investigation into the Justice Department’s handling of the Russia Collusion Hoax.

This is very bad news for Barack Obama, the corrupt Deep State, their minions in the establishment media, and Democrats.

According to a April 25-28 poll of 1,007 random adults taken for CNN (a far-left fake news outlet), a full 69 percent “think Congress ought to investigate the origins of the Justice Department’s inquiry into Russian interference in the 2016 election, including 76% of Democrats, 69% of independents and 62% of Republicans.”

And the “origins” of that inquiry means the Obama Justice Department.

Naturally, CNN buried this inconvenient bombshell in its own report on its own poll.

What’s more, public opposition to the non-stop, Democrat-led investigations into President Trump is growing.

In the middle of March, only 38 percent of adults polled believed “Democrats in Congress are doing too much… to investigate Donald Trump.”

Six weeks later, that number jumped to 44 percent.

Only 25 percent believe Democrats are doing too little, while 28 percent say the “right amount,” a drop of six points from last month.

The poll also shows that a mere 37 percent want to see Trump impeached while a clear majority, 59 percent, do not. Last September, that number was nearly tied with 47 percent wanting Trump removed from office while 48 percent did not.

The president’s overall job approval rating sits at 43 percent, up from 37 percent in January.  This includes 46 percent of Independents approving of the president and a robust 86 percent of Republicans.

What’s important to keep in mind about this poll is that it is a random sample of adults (with a sampling error of plus or minus 3.8 percentage points) is a polling method that almost always skews against Republicans, which is why a left-wing outlet like CNN would utilize it.

A more accurate poll screens for “likely” or “registered” voters.

A poll of random adults is really only useful in looking at trends, and this poll shows that the trends are almost all moving in Trump’s direction. Exceptions are that 48 percent believe Trump obstructed justice, while 45 percent disagree. Fifty percent believe “things Trump has said publicly about the investigation have been mostly false.”

That 69 percent number, though, that is the real news here. What we have, even during these polarized times, is the unified belief the Department of Justice needs to be investigated, which is exactly what Attorney general Bill Barr and Senate Judiciary Chairman Lindsey Graham (R-SC) have promised to do, which is why the media are already working overtime to smear Bill Barr.

That 69 percent number is also a massive media fail. For two years the media have been lying to the public hoping to convince us Obama’s Department of Justice did nothing wrong (they did), did not act improperly (they did), did not spy on the other party’s presidential campaign (they did), did not wiretap the other party’s campaign (they did).. But as you can see here, even Democrats haven’t been convinced by that fake news.

Twenty-one-year-old Riley Howell was shot and killed while allegedly trying to “jump” on the University of North Carolina Charlotte gunman and disarm him.

Breitbart News reported that 22-year-old Trystan Andrew Terrell allegedly opened fire on students Tuesday evening, killing two and wounding four. Howell was one of the two fatalities.

WSOCTV reports that sources indicate “Howell tried to jump on the gunman when he was shot.”

On the morning after the shooting, North Carolina State Rep. Brian Turner (D-116) noted that students were told to “Run, Hide, Fight,” and “Riley chose to fight and was fatally shot while attempting to physically confront and stop the shooter. This selfless act would have delayed the shooter giving police more time to respond and prevented further deaths.”

Howell’s family said, “He always was able to put others before himself and never hesitated to help anyone who needed it. He was friends with anyone and everyone — a big, muscular guy with a huge heart.”

As Seattle-based KTTH 770 AM radio host and Daily Wire contributor Jason Rantz reports, left-wing activists in Seattle are planning a transparently anti-Semitic event that the chairwoman of the Washington State Democratic Party nonetheless deems “important“:

The Thursday night panel discussion is titled “Intersectional Dialogue on Weaponizing Charges of Antisemitism,” and comes as Progressive activists defend Congresswoman Ilhan Omar’s (D-MN) widely condemned anti-Semitic remarks.

It is an intersectional view that a Muslim woman of color, such as Omar, cannot be anti-Semitic because, after all, Jews are just rich, powerful, white people to them. It’s, indeed, an anti-Semitic argument.

The event description on Facebook says they will ask: “How are charges of antisemitism being weaponized to specifically target powerful Black and Muslim leaders, force Jews and Jewish allies into false dichotomies, divert attention from the worldwide rise of white nationalism and state violence, and divide progressive movement-building?”

In other words, evil Jews like myself aren’t about fighting anti-Jew hatred — we’re the actual bigots purposefully using anti-Semitism as a cover to attack “powerful Black and Muslim leaders.” The evil Jew at work, right?

Rantz also notes how the two Jews on the panel, Rabbi David Basior of the Kadima Reconstructionist Community and moderator Maya Berkowitz, are both open “anti-Zionists” who support the facially anti-Semitic “Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions” eliminationist campaign against the world’s only Jewish state. This is a fairly frequent tactic used by anti-Semites to cover for their anti-Semitism; for example, every time the egregiously misnamed hate group “Students for Justice in Palestine” cohosts an on-campus event with the self-hating Jews of “Jewish Voice for Peace,” they engage in this. “I cannot be anti-Semitic if I have a Jew on the panel,” a benighted naif might say.

As Rantz notes, co-sponsors for the Jew-hating event include the American Muslim Empowerment Network, Seattle King County NAACP, Washington State’s ACLU, OneAmerica, and Womxn’s March Seattle.

As Daily Wire Editor-in-Chief Ben Shapiro has explained, the theory of “intersectionality” — which serves as the over-arching theme for the Seattle Jew-hating event —is inherently anti-Semitic:

How has the Democratic Party morphed into the party of anti-Semitism? By embracing the philosophy of intersectionality on the one hand, and by embracing the myth that anti-Zionism and anti-Semitism are completely separable on the other. The former provides the emotional impetus for nodding at Jew-hatred; the latter provides the intellectual framework for doing so.

The philosophy of intersectionality has othered Jews from the intersectional coalition. Because intersectionality is built on the premise that the prevailing Western system of thought has victimized various groups, and that those groups must band together in order to destroy that system, those who have thrived under the West must be excised from the intersectional agglomeration – being, as they are, representatives of the fact that Western thought is not, in fact, rooted in evil. The Jews are simply too financially, educationally, and politically successful to be seen as anything other than members of the power structure.

As The Daily Wire has reported at great length, anti-Semitism in the United States is on the rise. But many leftists do not seem to be particularly bothered by the harrowing trend.

President Donald Trump denounced terrorist attacks against people of faith on Wednesday, citing recent attacks on Jews, Christians, and Muslims.

“We mourn for the Christians murdered in Sri Lanka on Easter Sunday and grieve for the Muslims murdered at their mosques in New Zealand,” Trump said. “Here at home, we also remember the three historically black churches burned recently in Louisiana and the horrific shooting last year at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh.”

Trump also mourned the loss of Lori Kaye, who was killed Saturday during a shooting at the Chabad of Poway.

Trump made his remarks at a dinner celebrating the National Day of Prayer on Thursday for prominent religious leaders — Christians, Muslims, Jews, Sikhs, and Hindus.

“Violence and terrorism against people of all faiths must end and it must end now,” he said, as the audience applauded.

The president will host an event celebrating the National Day of Prayer in the Rose Garden on Thursday.
