Here Are the 8 Republican Senators Who Voted With Dems to Pass War Powers Measure

The Senate voted on Wednesday to limit President Trump’s war powers.

Eight Republican Senators voted with the Dems. to advance a resolution that would limit Trump’s ability to use military action against Iran unless Congress says it’s okay.

The resolution was introduced by Virginia Democrat Senator Tim Kaine.

“We should not be at war with Iran unless Congress votes to authorize such a war,” Tim Kaine said.

As expected Mitt “Pierre Delecto” Romney, Murkowski, Susan Collins and Lamar Alexander were among the 8 Republicans who voted with Dems.

The U.S. Senate voted Wednesday to advance a War Powers resolution which would limit President Donald Trump’s ability to use military action against Iran without approval from Congress.

The vote was bipartisan, 51-45, with eight Republicans voting with Democrats. The eight Republicans included Utah Sen. Mike Lee, Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul, Maine Sen. Susan Collins, Tennessee Sen. Lamar Alexander, Louisiana Sen. Bill Cassidy, Kansas Sen. Jerry Moran, Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkowski, and Indiana Sen. Todd Young.

President Trump will likely veto this War Powers measure just like he did last year.

President Trump blasted the Republicans before they voted on the resolution.
