WALSH: After This Debacle, We Should Abolish Early Voting And Mail-In Voting

As we currently stand, the presidential election happened yesterday, but we don’t know who won it. Many thousands of mail-in ballots were still uncounted on election night in states like Pennsylvania, Nevada, Michigan and Georgia. For some of those states, the counts were halted overnight. We are told that they had to stop counting so that the counters could sleep, leaving the nation in limbo as they rest soundly in their beds. Apparently these states have never heard of novel concepts like working in shifts.

Nevada election officials have already said that they will not announce any more updates until November 5. In Pennsylvania, incredibly, mail-in ballots will be counted up to three days after the election, and ballots that are not clearly postmarked from before the election will still be counted. Meanwhile, Arizona, which some outlets called for Joe Biden last night, was put back in play after an “error” made it seem like 98 percent, rather than 86 percent, of the vote had been tallied. On Twitter, President Trump suggested that his lead in key states had “magically disappeared” overnight. This tweet, along with several others of his from today and election night, were censored by Twitter and labeled “disputed” or “misleading.” My own tweet, expressing my personal opinion about the vote count, was also censored after Trump retweeted it.

I cannot say whether there is any sort of voter fraud going on. But I can say two things:

1. Democrats, along with subscribing to an ends-justify-the-means, morally relativistic worldview, also believe that Trump is evil incarnate, literally worse than Hitler. This outlook creates, at least, an enormous incentive to cheat, and removes any moral compunction a person might feel about it. That alone doesn’t prove that fraud is happening, but it heightens the need for transparency, efficiency, and oversight. The Left will tell you that they fear for their very lives if Trump is re-elected. What if people who have this (insane, irrational) fear are in charge of counting the votes in key battleground states? Is there not now, at minimum, a severe temptation toward potentially dishonest behavior?

2. Mail-in voting and early voting create more opportunities for things to go wrong, either through intentional subterfuge, human error, or other circumstances. This is largely why I hold the scandalous view that all voting should take place in person, on election day. Voting should end when that day ends, and begin when it begins. Of course any ballots cast during that period should be counted, no matter how long it takes. But accepting ballots that could potentially have been cast after the conclusion of voting, as Pennsylvania is currently doing, is madness. And it is almost as mad to allow voting for many weeks before the presidential election really begins.

Exceptions could be made for active duty military and perhaps a few other very limited and carefully selected groups. But the vast majority of people should be expected to show up, in person, on the day of voting to vote. This may require more resources to be made available and more polls to be opened, and it may mean longer lines and more inconveniences, but we only vote for president once every four years. It seems to me that we should be able to adjust our schedules and make the necessary sacrifices to get ourselves to the polls and vote the old fashioned away. For those who can’t be bothered, voting clearly isn’t a major priority for them. It is probably better if those types don’t vote anyway. Everyone else should be expected to do it in a way that facilitates efficiency, transparency, and will not leave the nation in the state of uncertainty that it is currently enduring.

SHOCKER! In 2016 Gateway Pundit was One of the Top 4 Pro-Trump Websites on Facebook — So today Facebook Shut Down Our Traffic to a Trickle on Election Day

In the 2016 election a Harvard University research project listed The Gateway Pundit as the 4th most influential pro-Trump website in America.

Since that time the left and Big Tech have done everything they can to eliminate our presence on Facebook and Twitter.

Harvard Study Identifies The Gateway Pundit As One of the Most Influential Conservative Media Outlets in 2016

In 2016 Facebook fraffic was around one-third of our traffic at The Gateway Pundit.

Today Facebook is about 1% of our traffic.

The GOOD NEWS is that our website traffic continues to grow.
We will have another record year.

And despite the liberal media and the best efforts by Facebook, Twitter and Google, President Trump will likely win reelection today.

These are NOT good people at Facebook.

13,000 Florida felons could be eligible to vote after LeBron James and Michael Bloomberg pay their fines: Analysis

Nearly 13,000 felons in Florida could be eligible to vote in the 2020 election after a fund backed by celebrities and other donors raised tens of millions to pay their fines.

In 2018, Florida voters passed a ballot initiative on Florida Amendment 4, the Voting Rights Restoration for Felons Initiative. Florida Amendment 4 restored the voting rights of Floridians with felony convictions. However, the Republican-controlled Florida Legislature passed a law requiring convicted felons to fulfill all the terms of their sentence before they can vote. This includes completing "prison or jail time; parole, probation, or other forms of supervision; and payment of the total amount of all fines, fees, costs, and restitution ordered as part of the felony sentence," according to the Florida Department of State.

The nonprofit Florida Rights Restoration Coalition raised funds to pay the fines of the Florida felons so that they could vote.

In July, Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James reportedly donated $100,000 to the Florida Rights Restoration. Billionaire and former Democratic presidential candidate Michael Bloomberg raised more than $16 million for the fund in September. Other celebrities who donated to the Florida Right Restoration Coalition include Michael Jordan, John Legend, and Steven Spielberg. MTV, Comedy Central, VH1, Ben & Jerry’s, Levi Strauss & Co, the Miami Dolphins, the Orlando Magic, and the Miami Heat also made donations.

The donations reportedly will enable thousands of felons to vote in the presidential election, according to analysis by the Tampa Bay Times, Miami Herald, and ProPublica.

Across the state, where the coalition used contributions from celebrities and other donors to pay about $27 million in fines and fees for about 40,000 felons, that pattern could translate to about 12,800 eligible voters if the proportion is consistent and they don’t owe other court debts.

The report noted that "the modest increase in eligible felons falls far short of expectations," but added that the felon voters "could be large enough to make a difference in a key state where polls indicate that the presidential contest is once again a toss-up."

According to RealClearPolitics, the latest average of presidential election polls for Florida shows Joe Biden with a slim 0.9-point advantage over President Donald Trump.

The report added that the "newly eligible voters in the four counties likely skew toward the Democratic presidential candidate, former Vice President Joe Biden." The analysis noted that "about 68% are registered Democrats."

The report stated that in Florida’s largest four counties, there were "at least 80% of felons whose fines and fees were paid are nonwhite — including 74% who are Black."

The report estimated that there are between 50,000 and 70,000 felons who have registered to vote since Amendment 4 went into effect in early 2019.

Bloomberg allegedly wrote a memo about the plan to pay the fines of felons so that they could vote, as reported by the Washington Post on Sept. 22.

"We know to win Florida we will need to persuade, motivate and add new votes to the Biden column," according to a memo from Bloomberg. "This means we need to explore all avenues for finding the needed votes when so many votes are already determined."

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) quickly responded by directing Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody (R) to look into the memo. Moody wrote a letter to the FBI and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

"After preliminarily reviewing this limited public information and law, it appears further investigation is warranted," Moody wrote. "Accordingly, I request your agencies further investigate this matter and take appropriate steps as merited."

During a Fox News’ "Fox & Friends" interview on Sept. 24, Moody said, "When you look at the memo and what was alleged, when you hear words like we need to get this done, investing money to targeted particular group of voters that may be predisposed to vote a certain way, that raises concerns that you are directly influencing or even indirectly giving money to persuade votes to go a certain way."

"That doesn’t matter what party it is that triggers Florida law. Under Florida law, you cannot directly or indirectly give anything of value to persuade or entice a vote," she added.

As of last week, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement told the Tampa Bay Times that the case was a "preliminary inquiry" and has not been elevated to a full investigation.

National Guard Reports to Chicago to Prepare for Potential Election Unrest

Democrat Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker deployed the Illinois National Guard to Chicago in preparation for potential election unrest.

Pritzker was asked about the order at his daily coronavirus briefing, and he downplayed the measure and said the National Guard reported to Chicago in other cases of unrest this year during violent riots.

“We’ve made sure that our National Guard is simply in a state of readiness. We did this back during the few days before the ruling around Breonna Taylor,” Pritzker said, according to the Associated Press. “We want to make sure that cities, counties that call upon us for help from the state of Illinois, that we have those resources available to them.”

He did not elaborate on how many troops or what type of equipment were sent to Chicago.

Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot did not ask the National Guard for assistance. Chicago’s Office of Emergency Management and Communications (OEMC) confirmed this in a tweet Monday afternoon.

“The city has not made any calls to deploy the National Guard in Chicago,” Chicago’s OEMC said. “Similar to past emergency preparedness plans, the state has stationed personnel at McCormick Place to be ready to respond if needed, however, there are currently no plans for them to be deployed.”

The Democrat governor said the results from Illinois and other states across the country may not come in until “Wednesday, or Thursday or even Friday,” the Chicago Tribune reported.

Pritzker added that the Illinois State Police would also be at the ready to intervene should violence erupt because of the election results.

Crenshaw to Biden: ‘Businesses Weren’t Boarding Up Windows’ in Fear of Trump Supporters

Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) slammed a Sunday tweet from Democrat presidential nominee Joe Biden, who said he would “end Donald Trump’s chaos.”

“Trump’s chaos? Last I checked, businesses weren’t boarding up their windows because they were afraid of Trump supporters,” Crenshaw replied on Twitter:

Businesses in many cities across America from New York to Los Angeles are putting up plywood boards to prepare for violent riots, should they occur after the election.

A confidential document obtained by Breitbart News showed that a left-wing coalition in Minnesota is preparing for mass unrest should President Donald Trump win a second term.

Local police departments around the country are also warning businesses to follow advice from law enforcement and monitor police department social media accounts for updates.

“Increase public safety by removing sandwich boards, furniture, and secure dumpsters outside of your business prior to events so these objects cannot be used as projectiles, barricades or fuel for fires,” stated a note signed by Portland Police Chief Chuck Lovell and addressed to businesses.

Student allegedly told by administrator to remove ‘Trump 2020’ face mask while others get to wear pro-Biden, BLM, LGBTQ items

A Mississippi high school administrator recently told a student to remove his face mask supporting President Donald Trump because it’s a "political" statement while teachers and other students were permitted to wear items supporting Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden, Black Lives Matter, and LGBTQ causes, legal firm Alliance Defending Freedom said.

What are the details?

ADF said it sent a letter Tuesday on behalf of Northwest Rankin High School junior David Ferguson saying that on or about Sept. 30 assistant principal Lewis Bradford pulled Ferguson aside in a hallway and told him to remove his "Trump 2020 – Keep America Great!" face mask since it amounts to a "political" statement.

Ferguson complied, the letter said, because he didn’t want to get into trouble. But ADF pointed out that "apparently, other students and teachers are allowed to wear face masks and other clothing with political messages without reprimand — including messages supporting Biden, BLM, and rainbow masks."

The letter also stated that dress code policy doesn’t prohibit Ferguson from wearing the pro-Trump face mask — only items with "suggestive, obscene, disruptive, or vulgar designs, pictures, symbols, slogans, or statements that cause a disruption to or detract from the educational process."

What else did ADF have to say?

ADF requested that the district respond Tuesday by allowing Ferguson to wear the face mask and any other items with similar messages, revise policy to prohibit staff from engaging in viewpoint discrimination, and provide First Amendment training to staff.

"Public schools have a duty to respect the free expression of students that the First Amendment guarantees to them," said ADF Legal Counsel Caleb Dalton, who penned the letter. "While school administrators face challenges in helping students navigate school life while wearing masks at this time, they simply can’t suspend the First Amendment or arbitrarily pick and choose the messages that students can or can’t express. Other students within the school district have freely worn masks and shirts with political messages, including symbols supporting other political candidates, the LGBTQ community, and the words ‘Black Lives Matter.’ This student deserves an equal opportunity to peacefully express his beliefs."

ADF Senior Counsel Tyson Langhofer, director of the ADF Center for Academic Freedom, added that "no public school student should be singled out for peacefully expressing his political position or sharing his beliefs with fellow students. Today’s students will be tomorrow’s legislators, judges, educators, and voters. That’s why it’s so important that public schools demonstrate the First Amendment values they are supposed to be teaching to students."

What did the district have to say?

Officials with the Rankin County School District on Tuesday didn’t immediately respond to TheBlaze’s request for comment on the matter.

Anything else?

Students who are Trump supporters have had their share of obstacles of late:

Can A Disintegrating America Come Together?

Can A Disintegrating America Come Together?

Tyler Durden

Tue, 11/03/2020 – 16:20

Authored by Pat Buchanan via Buchanan.org,

On the last days of the 2020 campaign, President Donald Trump was holding four and five rallies a day in battleground states, drawing thousands upon thousands of loyalists to every one.

Waiting for hours, sometimes in the cold, to cheer their champion on, these rallygoers love Trump as few presidents have been loved. This writer cannot recall a president and campaign that brought out so many and such massive crowds of admirers in its closing days.

And who are these cheering, chanting loyalists who have brought their children out with them to see and remember “the great Trump” — in the eyes of our dispossessed elites?

They are people who belong in a “basket of deplorables,” sneered Hillary Clinton: “racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamaphobic” bigots, and a sub-species of humanity that is “irredeemable.”

Today’s election is an us-versus-them choice unlike any other, for the issues in dispute are broader and deeper than ever before.

And those issues raise questions: No matter who wins, can this nation come together again? And if it cannot — a real possibility — what form will America take as it disintegrates?

Even as voters were mailing in ballots in the millions, stores in our great cities were being boarded up against rioters, looters and arsonists.

Suburban residents, fearful that the urban mobs may one day be coming for them, were stockpiling guns and ammunition.

How divided are we?

The New York Times “Sunday Review” devoted its entire section to Donald Trump, as seen from the eyes of its columnists. On the cover page of the Review ran the headline, “All 15 of our columnists explain what the past four years have cost America, and what’s at stake in this election.”

Each of the 15 trashed Trump from his or her perspective.

Since World War II, America has held elections where the country seemed at sword’s point. Not all were like 1960, where scholar Arthur Schlesinger Jr., felt compelled to write the book, “Kennedy or Nixon: Does It Make Any Difference?”

Schlesinger felt he had to explain that despite the similarity of the candidates, both in their 40s, it made a difference who was elected.

Yet, even after the most divisive elections of the post-war era — 1952 and 1968 — the country pulled back together. President Dwight Eisenhower, from 1952 to 1956, and Richard Nixon, from 1968 to 1972, restored unity to the nation during their first terms by ending the Asian wars into which their predecessors had taken the nation.

New leadership ended the wars and brought the United States together.

The difference today?

Americans are not divided over war. One of Trump’s successes has been to keep us out of new wars, even if he has not yet extracted us from the wars he inherited.

Today, we are divided over ideology, morality, culture, race and history. We are divided over whether America is the great nation we were raised to revere and love or a nation born in great sins and crimes — such as the near annihilation of indigenous peoples and their cultures and the enslavement of hundreds of thousands of Black peoples from Africa.

Are we the nation of 1776 and 1789, or the nation of 1619, whose institutions are still infected with the “systemic racism” of our birth?

In this divided country, at times, Americans seem to detest each other.

Indeed, if the United States did not exist as one nation, would this diverse people ever agree to form a compact to come together, or would we seek to retain our separate identities?

In tearing down the statues of explorers such as Christopher Columbus or the Founding Fathers and their successor presidents, from Andrew Jackson to Abraham Lincoln to Teddy Roosevelt and Woodrow Wilson, the contempt for the country these men helped to bring into being, and for what this country stands for today, is manifest.

A significant slice of America’s young believes that the nation to which they belong was detestable from its birth, and that the Western civilization from which it sprang is not worth saving.

In his farewell address, President Ronald Reagan spoke of the America where he was raised and which he cherished:

“The hope of human freedom — the quest for it, the achievement of it — is the American saga. And I’ve often recalled one group of early settlers making a treacherous crossing of the Atlantic on a small ship when their leader, a minister, noted that perhaps their venture would fail and they would become a byword, a footnote to history. But perhaps, too, with God’s help, they might also found a new world, a city upon a hill, a light unto the nations.”

How many Americans still believe what Reagan believed? How many yet see America as “a city upon a hill, a light unto the nations”?

NBC News Claims Obama Has Refrained From Attacking Trump. That’s Not True.

Does NBC News read NBC News?

The outlet reported Saturday that former President Barack Obama hasn’t been attacking President Donald Trump since the latter took office. In an article titled “Obama’s homestretch itinerary: On the campaign trail — and inside Trump’s head,” NBC breathlessly claimed: “For nearly four years, the former president refrained from attacking his successor. As he took to the trail on Biden’s behalf in the 2020 race’s closing days, the gloves came off.”

To even casual political observers, this is obviously false. Obama has taken an unprecedented number of potshots at Trump over the past four years. Even NBC reported on the former president’s sniping three months ago.

“The former president’s unusual flaying of his successor served as a historical marker — and a powerful political weapon for the Democratic ticket,” NBC reported in August.

In mid-October, before he took to the campaign trail for Biden, Obama told his former staffers on “Pod Save America” that Trump “doesn’t have the patience and the focus to really substantially change a lot of U.S. foreign policy.”

As The Daily Wire’s Emily Zanotti previously reported, this is absurd, since the Trump administration has negotiated deals with three Middle East countries to normalize relations with Israel and hasn’t started any new wars. Meanwhile, Zanotti wrote, Obama had numerous foreign policy failures, among them:

[S]upporting the tyrannical Iranian regime, the largest terrorist-supporting government on earth; championing the dangerous Iran nuclear deal; withdrawing U.S. forces from Iraq in late 2011, leading to the rise of ISIS; ousting Libya’s Moammar Gadhafi, thus paving the way for anarchy and ISIS to gain a foothold there, and conducting a “reset” with Russia while Russian military gained ground  in eastern Ukraine

NBC had reported on Obama’s Trump trashing when the former president insulted Trump during the Democratic National Convention, saying Trump “hasn’t grown into the job because he can’t.” Mainstream media outlets predictably cheered Obama’s diatribe.

Obama also took some shots at Trump during his eulogy for the late Rep. John Lewis (D-GA).

“Even as we sit here, there are those in power who are doing their darndest to discourage people from voting by closing polling locations, and targeting minorities and students with restrictive ID laws, and attacking our voting rights with surgical precision – even undermining the postal service in the run up to an election that’s going to be dependent on mail-in ballots so people don’t get sick,” Obama said, in clear reference to Trump and Republicans.

In typical Obama fashion, his claims were wildly misleading.

That same week, Obama reportedly bashed Trump during a Zoom call with Democratic lawmakers and donors, referencing the Third Reich and insulting Trump’s supporters. Obama also became the first president in 40 years not to attend the unveiling of his own portrait at the White House.

In May, Obama gave a virtual commencement address to 2020 high school graduates, claiming Trump (without mentioned him by name) and his administration don’t know what they’re doing and are acting like children. That same month, in a private conversation with former members of his administration that was leaked to the press, Obama bashed Trump by claiming he has fomented selfishness across not only America, but the world.

“What we’re fighting against is these long-term trends of being selfish, being tribal, being divided, and seeing others as an enemy — that has become a stronger impulse in American life. And by the way, we’re seeing that internationally as well. It’s part of the reason why the response to this global crisis has been so anemic and spotty. It would have been bad even with the best of governments,” Obama said.

Obama also used his speech at late Rep. Elijah Cummings’ (D-MD) funeral to knock the current administration, suggesting they were not “honorable.”

In August 2019, Obama took a swipe at Trump over mass shootings

“We should soundly reject language coming out of the mouths of any of our leaders that feeds a climate of fear and hatred or normalizes racist sentiments; leaders who demonize those who don’t look like us, or suggest that other people, including immigrants, threaten our way of life, or refer to other people as sub-human, or imply that America belongs to just one certain type of people,” Obama said, reiterating the Left’s accusation against Trump.

In January 2019, Obama told Democratic donors that America has “a deficit of leadership, and we need new blood.”

In November 2018, Obama suggested the reason we don’t tackle climate change is because “we are still confused, blind, shrouded with hate, anger, racism, mommy issues.” Some saw this as a shot at Trump.

In October 2018, Obama took a shot at Trump by claiming: “Unlike some I actually try to state facts. I believe in facts. I believe in a fact-based reality and a fact based politics. I don’t believe in just making stuff up.” As The Daily Wire reported at the time, Obama lied plenty during and after his presidency. The former president made similar remarks in July 2018.

In September of that year, Obama told Americans that Trump was dividing Americans and that people should vote for Democrats to bring “unity.”

In May 2018, Obama released a statement against Trump pulling out of the Iran nuclear deal that the Obama administration negotiated, a deal that made the world less safe.

As far back as December 2017, Obama reportedly compared the era of Trump to Adolf Hitler’s reign.

“That’s what happened in Germany in the 1930s, which, despite the democracy of the Weimar Republic and centuries of high-level cultural and scientific achievements, Adolph Hitler rose to dominate,” Obama reportedly said, among other comparisons. “Sixty million people died. . . .So, you’ve got to pay attention. And vote.”

These examples don’t even include the way the outgoing Obama administration treated Trump’s 2016 campaign, by obtaining FISA warrants to investigate campaign aides based on rumors and innuendo. That investigation morphed into a year-long probe by Special Counsel Robert Mueller, which found the Trump campaign didn’t collude with Russia to steal the 2016 election, as the Obama administration alleged. Further, an Inspector General report found numerous errors and omissions in the FISA warrant applications that trumped up the “evidence” against the campaign aides in the first place in order to obtain the warrants to investigate them.
