WATCH: CNN ‘Expert’ Claims Women Can’t Carry Guns Because They Wear Dresses

Teachers can’t be armed in order to prevent or address school shootings, one CNN “expert” claims, because women can’t put a gun holster under their girly clothes.

According to the Washington Free Beacon, CNN’s senior law enforcement analyst Tom Fuentes was trying to explain that arming teachers might lead to liability problems for schools – particularly if or when teachers leave weapons unattended in classrooms – but, instead of addressing veered off into fashion commentary.

“A lot of these schools—Sandy Hook had an all-female faculty, from principal to teachers,” Fuentes said. “For a woman, where are you going to hide that gun during the day? You can’t put it in your desk drawer; somebody might steal it, and you can’t get to it. You’re not going to have it in a safe in the principal’s office; you can’t get to it.”

Fuentes then suggested that the only way to keep a weapon safe from a student who might steal it to use it is to wear the weapon in a holster. But, lady-type people prefer to wear skirts and dresses, and you can’t just carry a gun in your Spanx!

“If you wear a dress, if you wear a skirt, are you going to have to wear a jacket everyday with a belt and a holster, the way a detective on duty would do?” he asked. “It’s not a real practical solution for a variety of reasons.”

For a law enforcement expert, Fuentes appears to be unaware that there are women law enforcement officials (including detectives!) who are armed while on duty, as well as millions of women who carry a gun every day, open or concealed.

In response to this sudden trend among the women-folk to arm themselves for protection, gun accessories manufacturers have created a number of options for women looking to carry under clothing, or for whom belts just won’t work.

Women can get tank top holsters that let them carry small weapons under their arms, belly band holster that will keep a weapon safe under a shirt or blouse, bra holsters that let you pack between your…ahem…girls, leggings holsters, and the ever-popular garter belt holster that lets you trade in your plain, ordinary stockings for ones that pack some heat. But if none of those options work for you, some actual gun experts suggest carrying on a belt with a holster positioned in the small of your back.

There may be a number of valid arguments both for and against arming teachers, but where to put the gun, well, that’s not one of them.
