Over a two-year period, California’s Los Angeles County spent nearly $1.3 billion of taxpayer money on welfare for illegal aliens, the latest government data show.
From 2015-16, the sanctuary county allocated nearly a quarter of its total welfare spending to illegal aliens, according to county records, Fox News reports:
“Illegal immigrant families received nearly $1.3 billion in Los Angeles County welfare money during 2015 and 2016, nearly one-quarter of the amount spent on the county’s entire needy population, according to data obtained by Fox News.”
The costs are merely “the tip of the iceberg,” Heritage Foundation Senior Fellow Robert Rector warns, adding that illegal aliens receive three dollars of benefits for every one dollar they spend.
